Our home was damaged from a gas explosion of a neighbor's home on June 11th, 2017. I found LDR in Rockford on State Farm’s website. On June 23, 2017 we entered into an agreement and were clear that our siding company was to be used, we had replacement coverage therefore the same material must be used unless discussed with me and that I receive a schedule for repairs. LDR and State Farm discussed the job and they agreed upon a completion date of November 30th, 2017. State Farm sent an email confirming this on August 1, 2017 to LDR and me. I requested a schedule numerous times but LDR would not issue one. Their workers and/or sub-contractors failed to show when expected, used the incorrect replacement material from what was currently in place, did not use material stated in their own quote that was mandatory city code, missed repairing a cracked 2x4 in the wall that was called out in the Architectural drawing, did not finish the demo leaving the screws and nails in the 2x4s, and nails, staples and tack strip on the sub-flooring. Our Bank’s inspector deemed the house at 16% complete in January 2018, seven months after the explosion and they had received a total of 45,884.18 the beginning of August 2017. Once the agreement was dissolved, LDR sent me a final invoice for 58,998.87. The bill included work/services that were not done, were not completely done, were not done to code (as indicated by the City when they received the permit), billed for materials based on the estimate than what was actually used, and billed for a cancelled purchase order from Home Depot. We had missing items and items damaged by LDR. Out of the 45,884.18 they have only done 28,897.60 (our current contractor still thinks that it’s too high) leaving 16,986.58 to be credited. The insurance company will not cover any rental expense passed March 30th, 2018 and we will still be out of our home April and possible May of 2018. Based on this experience, LDR seems to be doing a bait and switch with agreed up work/material, trying to get money for work not done. They made decisions to make changes that was not theirs to make, cut corners with less skilled people (their failed attempt to put in windows), billing for work that was not performed or finished. It is bad enough that people go through a terrible and frightening tragedy that turns their life upside down only to fall prey to a construction company that is conducting what seems like fraudulent business practices creating another level of stress and anguish.
Description of Work: Restoration after a neighboring house exploded.

Here's the rest of the story. Painting was completed in main area but had to call them back to miss areas not completed because LDR is so incompetent in communicating with these people. The finish trim was installed prior to the flooring being done which turned out awful! We were allowed $1.49 sq ft for flooring and picked out some nice peel and stick flooring from big box store for $1.19 sq ft. figuring the difference would help provide primers etc. on concrete floor to promote adhesion etc and get a very professional install. I think Stevie Wonder could have done a better job! The majority of the tiles are not sticking to the floor and it is now January (6 months later) I get promises promises promises with no work being done! I've been waiting over 2 months to have a plumber come out and snake a clogged drain to the sump because although Four Seasons did a good job on drywall, they took water discharge out of tub basin in the laundry room to clean their tools and it clogged up the drains! SMDH! If you want a half-assed job for your restoration then by all means, call these disaster specialists because they specialize in creating disaster! Finish trim work was all 45'ed in corners versus getting coped joints. Base trim was installed 3/4 to an inch too high in spots so as to look crooked to the eye with big *** gaps that were filled with caulk instead of being done properly. ALSO several holes in quarter round mldg because then they had nothing to nail into since the base trim was so **** high! Closet doors uninstalled back the way they were and outlets left without covers etc. And you have to call and call and call to get these people to give you shallow promises for work to be done. They promise one thing and then you will be left wondering when the work is going to be done! Oh and not to mention they told the landlord they wouldn't start the work until a new furnace was installed at the tune of $8900 bucks! Luckily we got a whole new furnace and AC for $3500 installed...Get my drift? LDR is out for their pocket book and WILL leave you hanging! Steer away from these people like the plague!!!
Description of Work: Our basement flooded in July of last year. A company from Chicago was hired by landlord's insurance to clean up basement which included tearing out wet drywall etc. and dehumidifying the basement. LDR was called after this phase one to repair damages. I want everyone to know that LDR sub contracts out the construction to low ball installers etc. I will say that Four Seasons Drywall did an excellent job repairing drywall even though they heated the outside by leaving my garage door up on a heated garage all day causing my gas bill to double that month!
