Terrible. Tony came out once; said he needed supplies which I obtained. He never came back again. Would not and will not return phone calls or emails, tried to reach him numerous times but he never responds and ignores all contact. Basically, he took the money and did no work at all. Tony delayed the work so long, I could not get a refund from Angie's list either. Tony's care says, quote.. "Customer Satisfaction Guaranteed". That simply is a lie. Do not do business with this man. Very sad as the job was so easy and for the time, he would have been paid well. I guess you get paid better if you don't do the work....
Description of Work: I paid for some drywall work finished, very simple easy job, only a couple of hours of work.

I hired TGL Construction because I never wanted to be in the situation again that caused me to call them in first place. I had extensive water damage and rot that went all the way into the substructure of my home, including the exterior framing. The damage was caused by work that had been done improperly by the previous owner’s contractors. I have worked with several contractors in the past, even in a professional capacity through a business that I owned. I have to say that as a whole, contractors are disappointing. But not Tony, the owner of TGL Construction, and his crew. I knew Tony was different right from the start. He has been doing this work for almost 4 decades and in that time has amassed a broad range of technical skills. What really sets him apart is that he is driven to understand – not just how to do something – but how to do it right. It is intrinsic in his character. Doing things the right way, coupled with his obsessive attention to detail gave me the confidence not worry about the outcome of the project. I would have been happy with this alone, but Tony went beyond my expectations by staying on schedule, communicating frequently and in detail, truly caring about my satisfaction. I would hire him again in heartbeat. If you want your project done right and you recognize the benefit of getting the best long term value – not just the lowest price bid – then Tony’s your guy.

Tony came to our rescue on this job! We had hired another company to replace a lot of our exterior window and door trim due to dry rot. The rot was only in the trim and had not penetrated further into the frames or other sub-structure. The other company was insisting on pulling out each window just to replace the trim and charging us hourly. After 2 days, we realized that the job was going to cost us upwards of $30,000 or more at the rate they were going and so we canned them. But that meant that we were stuck with half of our windows demoed in November and 2 weeks of rain coming. That's when I called Tony and asked if he could come out and take a look at the mess and see what he could do. He affirmed what some other people had told us - that it was not necessary to pull out each window for our job. He spent a lot of time looking at each window and door gave us a very fair bid to finish the job. He and Ben started work the very next day after we accepted his bid and worked through the weekend to get the job done including painting the trim and door before it was supposed to rain on the Monday. The work included replacing the trim and flashing, fixing the siding that had been demoed by the other company and replacing our back door and frame. I told him what kind of door I wanted but have to admit I was a little nervous having him pick it out for me. He went to Home Depot and sent me pictures of 3 doors in our price range so I could pick the one I liked the best. I had not asked him to send me the pictures. It was very thoughtful and shows the attention to detail you will get from him. I really like our new door! The door was tricky to put in and took him longer than expected but he did not charge us extra. He did not 'nickel and dime' us and we are very happy with his workmanship and he and Ben are both very nice and trustworthy people.

Tony and his helper, Ben, did outstanding work. To get started, we met with Tony to discuss what we had in mind and then he had his designer draw up the plans. We changed our mind about what roofing material to use and he couldn't have been more accommodating. Tony was great about explaining what he was doing (and the rationale for the materials he was using and his methods). It was clear that he enjoys the work and it really shows in the quality of his workmanship. Keep in mind, his is a small company, so if the job before yours has some unexpected complications, your start date could be delayed. Since, from the getgo, we found him to be trustworthy, I was not at all worried about the minor delays in starting our project. The way I saw it (and it turned out to be true), once it is your turn, you get their full attention (also, he was great about keeping in touch during the delay). These guys show up and work hard all day. At the end of the day you really see the progress and they leave their workplace neat and tidy. Also, Tony was really great about checking in at the end of the day to show us where they were at with the project and explain the next steps. All in all, we couldn't be happier: the price was very fair, the workmanship outstanding and Tony is just very clearly a good guy who takes pride in the work he does and his company. We plan to have a bathroom painted and exterior painting done next year!

Not well. It is unprofessional to ask a person how much money they have before you give a quote for a service requested. The estimate was promised within the week. It took two weeks. When I called to inquire about the quote, the call back took 3 days for a return call. Then the call was met with excuses. Tony very well might do a good job, I was not a beneficiary of that. I would recommend diversity awareness training. It will give you and your company longevity.

I explained to you before we came out that we would be discussing your budget after we looked at what you were wanting to do. This is common practice in order to determine if it will be feasible that we may be able to complete the different projects you are wanting to do within your budget. This does not mean that we want to know how much money a person has, but only what they are wanting to keep the cost under. As with your job there was multiple projects you were wanting to do. To know your budget helps us to be able to help you, by being able to let you know if one or all of your project my be able to be completed. There is no sense in bidding on every project just to come back at 3 times what a person wants to spend. At no time would we want to upset you and apologize if you felt this way. This leads to a question? What do you mean, "training in diversity awareness"? I really do not understand why you would say that? At no time did I treat you differently than I treat any other client. Again, truly sorry if you felt that way! Wishing your family the best now and in the future! Sincerely, Tony G LeMatty TGL Construction LLC

It was expertly and conscientiously installed to help meet not only our water damage needs but he helped us design a method that made the cost to our pocket book bearable.
Description of Work: Tony Lamatty helped diagnose a problem with basement windows improperly installed by another contractor which was causing extensive water damage. He expertly designed and installed egress windows into a renovated basement area. He took extra care to make certain there was no damage with dust; dirt and construction "mayhem" which typically occurs. The windows are installed and the basement is light filled and there is no longer a threat of water coming into our beautiful basement!

Really pleased with the planning and project estimation prepared up front. Execution was outstanding and Tony's attention to detail is excellent so I always thought I was getting a little more effort / value than with some other contractors I have used. Lots of complex drywall work around windows and beams in a very brightly lite area that would easily show differences in finishes (but looks perfect like new). Job was completed when he said it would (maybe one extra half day). Tony will be the first person I call when I next need work done.
Description of Work: Water damage repair required significant drywall replacement and refinishing hardwood floor. We also had the guest bathroom remodeled (new cabinets, lights, fixtures/plumbing, wallpaper, etc.). As well as other small repairs around the house.

Tony and his team were professional from the very beginning. When he came to our house to bid on the project he was dressed professionally and gave us his card as we greeted - it seems minor but a good first impression is important to us. Quality is never cheap but Tony did an amazing job of getting good materials at the best price. He went over the contract well - we paid 60% of the cost to start and the rest when the project was completed. The project was done in a timely manner and Tony communicated with us every step of the way. We look forward to working with him in the future on other projects.

Measurements were taken after I explained the job. His first question was how much did I have to commit to this project. HIs reasoning was that if I did not have the amount required, there was no point in him proceeding with the work to produce an estimate. I thought this odd, as I had three total estimates coming in on the same job. None of the other contractors for this job (or any of the other work I am having done, for that matter) asked me for a dollar amount prior to proceeding. I said online research had led me to guess 3k-5k. He then stated the job would be at least 10k - 15k. At that point, I had heard enough and told him I would not be considering TGL Construction for this job.

During our first conversation we spoke with you about our process. I explained that we would come out to look at your project and that we would discuss your budget for the job once we did a walk through to review the scope of work needing to be performed. The reason for this is to evaluate whether or not if the project can be built within your budget. This saves time for everyone, as there is no reason to do a detailed estimate if we are to far apart in our numbers. This is not meant to be offensive; this is the last thing we would want to do. It is only to determine if it may be possible to have a working relationship before we do any detailed estimating. I would also like to comment; Searching on line to get a general idea how much a project is going to cost is a start, but every project is different and these differences will determine the overall cost for the project. $3,000 to $5,000 may be in the ballpark for an egress window install if it is straight forward. Your project had other circumstances which increased the amount of work needing to be done ( finished interior- remove wall/re-frame/refinish, electrical/cable needing re routed, exterior deck- removed/re-frame/install grate) which inevitably increases the overall cost. I hope this response to your review will help explain things a little more clearly; I feel I may have failed in doing this during our meeting? Wish you the best, Tony.

We discovered a leak problem on one of our bay windows. We have stucco siding, so we hired a specialist to perform moisture testing on the entire house first. According to the test result, we learned that the water damages had possibly spread between the back of the siding and the wood structure around the bay window and there was additional moisture behind the stucco and wood structure located in various areas near our garage doors. According to the specialist who did the moisture testing on our house, the water damage was mainly caused by the improper design of the gutters and failure of the interface between the stucco siding and wood interfaces. What we needed was not just someone to replace the window and putting the exterior stucco back, so it looks good from outside. We needed a contractor who is knowledgeable and has great hand-on experience to fix the root causes, so we don’t ever have to face the same problems again! We hired a guy through word of mouth who is specialized in fixing stucco siding; however he is not a general contractor. We needed a general contractor who would fix all the issues and work with our preferred stucco contractor. We had two general contractors come to look at our house. The first bid was the cheapest one, but looking back we cannot see how he can truly fix all the issues well. The second company only expressed the interest of fixing the known problems – such as replacing gutters, fascia boards, and window. He had no interest and knowledge of looking into the true causes and how to prevent this from happening again. We were disappointed, and then we found Tony Lematty from “Angie List” who owns TGL Construction LLC. Tony is not the cheapest guy, but he has delivered the solutions that we have confidence that our house will not only look good from outside, but we would never have to face the same issue again! Tony worked so well with our preferred stucco specialist and we are impressed with the quality of work delivered so far. Tony has replaced our gutters, fascia board, leaking bay window with water proof coating and flashing, rotten door frame, and fixed the structure damages of our house frame. There is still paint job to be finished. This will be postponed to next spring when we can have consecutive dry weather. We are very happy with Tony and his crews for the work that they have done so far and would highly recommended him to others. As a footnote he did not leave any mess behind and took extra precautions to protect the inside of our home.

He came out and it took a long time for him to come out there. We asked him to do some additional bid work. It took him, like, three or four weeks to get it. By then we knew that, based on his prints, we would not be using him. After we decided not to use him he said we were going to have to pay him $225. He said he was sorry because he had lost some guys and was running behind. I guess for a small job within constraints, like four hours or less, I might use him, but he seemed completely overwhelmed and I would never use him again. The quality of his work was fine. I think that he was understaffed so he should have stopped taking jobs. He had pretty poor response time in general, so poor that we lost faith in him.

You had purchased a drywall Big Deal from us; 4 hrs of drywall for $179.00. we met with you on the scheduled time we had set, as you were coming from out of town. Once we met at the property we did a walk through to look at the work needing done and we also looked at other projects you wanted a quote for. We began working on the drywall repair and ran into issues of active water intrusion in one room, and a exhaust vent pipe venting into wall space between floors; not vented to outside. We brought this to you attention. We installed plastic on the exterior drying in the area of water intrusion and investigated on ways to vent the bathroom vent pipe to the outside; this work is outside of the scope of work under the drywall deal purchased. We worked on the drywall up to the 4 hrs in the deal. We asked you if you wanted us to keep working by the hour and also asked if you would like us to haul away the demo debris from the closet area (Shelving and plaster demo) and you said yes. Normally at the end of the day on these deals that go over we get paid for the addition work that day. You left and did not return. Later we did put together the estimates for the other project you were wanting done. You did not chose us to do the work. I sent you the cost that you owed us for the additional work and called you multiple times. You did not return our calls and did not pay us for the additional work and dump fee. We decided to write it off as a loss. After all this you go on here and write a review like this? Very disappointing.

Tony was fantastic. His prices were very reasonable. He kept in communication throughout the process, letting us know when he'd be there. He returned calls almost instantly and stayed every day until that day's jobs had been completed and took the time to clean the work area before leaving. And, best of all, his attention to detail and work quality were well above the norm. Everything looks great.
Description of Work: Tony repaired large areas of drywall that we had to remove for new wiring. He installed new drywall on several walls that had new doors and windows. He installed a new interior door. And, he did all the trim work around all the windows and doors.

Not a good experience. the biggest issue that I had dealing with that company was he changed, I purchase a big deal through him you know these guys they don't make a lot of money from the big deal so they most of them anyway so when they get to your house they do everything they can to kind of sell you other things so that they can make money he and I had an agreement about what he was gonna do in course of the big deal I did give him some additional work which he said he was gonna do at the big deal rate but when it was time for him to do the work he increased the price so I ended up not using him for the additional work. So the four hour deal that I bought from him he spent the last thirty minutes to show the four hours cleaning up and he said that clean up was part of the four hours labor so I only got three and a half hours out of it and I didn't think that was cool, so yeah wouldn't use him again, would not use him again.

When I arrived at your house we did a walk-through to look at the work that needed to be performed. We looked at different areas of drywall repair that needed to be done. You also showed me an area where you had an issue with a water leak from a window that caused damage to a wall that was installed through Home Depot. You told me that this would be a different project and asked me if I would provide you an estimate for the repairs beings that Home Depot would be responsible for paying this expense due to their window leaking being the cause of the damage. You also mentioned that you was wanting to close an opening leading into that area to make that into a room and asked me if I do this kind of work. I did not try to upsell you on anything, you asked me to look at these things for you. I performed the drywall repair in the other areas that you had showed me but was not able to finish these areas due to drying time. We agreed that I would finish this when I come back to do the other work where the leaking window problem was. I then removed all the drop cloths that I had laid throughout the house where we were walking to do our work, vacuum the inside of the house at all work areas, cleaned up the garage where we were mixing our hot mud and loaded up all my tools. Yes, protection and cleanup is always a part of my process In doing my jobs. Most of my clients respect and appreciate this. I did figure out an estimate for the repairs where the water damage was from the window for you. You choose not to have me do this work and wanted me to come back to finish the work that didnt get finished at the discounted rate. I told you that I could not do this at the discounted rate and that it would be at my regular rate at 4 hours minimum to come out again. I believe this is the whole issue and why you wrote me a negative review. It was not my intentions to upset you or for you to feel like you didn't get treated fairly. I do wish you the best.

Generally work went well on this project though there were some complicating factors in setting one of the main posts requiring some existing water pipes to be redirected.. Tony managed this well and subsequently work proceeded without incident. The project took longer than expected mainly due to lack of available staff. The completed patio cover now looks great and I am very pleased with the result.
Description of Work: A04/20/2016 This is still a work in progress but I was very impressed with Tony's attention to detail and working with me to get this project within my budget. He drew up 4 options with varying degrees of complexity ranging from one with a traditional shingled roof structure with skylights and electric light and fan to one with a translucent corrugated roof and no other additions. He has been responsive to any concerns I have raised and has worked hard to get the project through the permit phase and is now in the process of setting up the bases. This has involved removing a series of pavers from the current patio and digging deep wide holes in preparation for pouring the concrete and erecting the support poles. At all times Tony and his helper have been respectful of my property and taken care to impose minimal inconvenience. They have taken the trouble to distribute soil from the digging sites to areas of my garden in need. Overall I am very happy with the progress so far. Description of work: Building permanent patio cover with cantilever over roof of house. Tony was an absolute pleasure to work with. He responded quickly to my initial inquiry and we set up a time for a walkthrough of the job a few days later when he had a break from previous jobs. While I believe my job was smaller in scale than his other jobs, he was able to work with my narrow timeline and re-used as much building material as possible that I had saved from the demolition of the previous pantry. His framing was solid and exceeded the level of thought and care of the original framers in 2014. His drywall work was quick and precise, requiring minimal sanding. His cleanup each night after a days work was thorough and much appreciated, using blankets on our existing flooring for walkways. When we hit the unexpected issues (as will happen in any job) he worked well into the evening to keep the job on schedule.
Description of Work: - Framed in new kitchen pantry (approx 5' by 5') form existing pantry and prior closet from adjoining room - Added new drywall to new pantry interior and adjoining room to close up closet opening - Leveled subfloor of new pantry - Merged new hardwood flooring boards into existing flooring in new pantry - Textured and painted drywall in new pantry interior - Painted and added trim to new pantry interior

Tony was great, he was able to come out and do the repair within 24 hours, and had it fixed, and texturized to perfectly match the rest of our ceiling in the basement. He even fixed a wobbly light fixture for us. We were very pleased with our service!
Description of Work: Dry wall was replaced in our basement as we had a leak from our dishwasher.

This is still a work in progress but I was very impressed with Tony's attention to detail and working with me to get this project within my budget.
Involves setting posts in 3' deep concrete bases.

Estimate came in 20% higher that we expected, but we went with it anyway. We had to set starting date back about a month, and it was hard getting things started again. About a two weeks lag time between demo and starting installation. Once installation started, things went pretty smooth. We had a few problems come up, but Tony always explained what they were and he took care of them. Very happy with new shower, and no more hole in the dining room ceiling. Very happy with the results.
Description of Work: Replaced bath tub with walk in shower. Repaired dining room ceiling damage from leaking pipes from bathroom above. Replaced old plumbing. Replaced drywall around shower.

They could have showed up when they were going to. They had a car problem and couldn't get out here one day. The next day they couldn't make it, the car hadn't got fixed. The following day they got out and that was nice. The problem was not showing up for the two days because I have things to do as well.
Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for $165 for 4 Hours of Drywall or Plaster Repair. They did some drywall packing.
