 + -1 moreThere was some confusion about the time for an appointed visit. The plumber who came was very professional, personable and communicative. He worked fast and cleaned up thoroughly after the work was done. He also had some good advice about the peculiarities of my brand and what kinds of toilet paper to use and what to avoid.
Description of Work: They located and removed a foriegn object from the toilet pipe in a toilet that another plumbing company said was unfixable and would need to be replaced.

 + -1 moreThis company was fantastic!!! John Sichler was very pleasant and professional. He diagnosed the problem and had it fixed all in less than 2 hours. Previous plumber had told us that the work would require extensive remodel of the entire tub area. I would use this company again in a heartbeat!!
Description of Work: Pipe leaking water in basement bathroom. Before any work was done, the problem needed diagnosis and estimate. Ended up needing to replace the drain, waste pipe, and overflow pipe. Required small jack-hammer to chip away concrete around drain pipe.

 + -1 morePlumber was a little late, but professional and capable. Found that my turn off valve did not allow for complete draining of water from pipe/hose and replaced it. Explained everything to me thoroughly, including instructions on additional steps to prevent future frozen pipes. Hourly price seemed high.
Description of Work: Replaced broken outside hose bib and rerouted about a foot. Suggested replacing shut off valve with new one that allows for complete drainage of pipe to prevent freezing, which I approved.

Description of Work: Replaced all galvanized water supply pipes in duplex with new aquapex and brass fittings. Included new exterior faucets and new faucets at the basement sink. Relocated and replaced one water heater. Lowered drain pipes on two kitchen sinks to bring them into compliance with code.

 + -1 moreThe person at the company who schedules plumbers was very helpful. After making an appointment, I had to immediately call back and change the date and the man who helped me was very friendly both times. The plumber, Ron, who helped us was efficient and quiet (as possible, given he was using a snake) while he worked, which we appreciated since we had a 4 day old newborn in the house. My only concern was that Ron put in a new fill valve that makes noise for about 5 seconds every half hour or so, I haven't followed up on this only because I'm taking care of a newborn. If this is a concern for someone, you could just ask more questions about new parts a plumber is putting in for you.
Description of Work: Fixed slow drains in two bathrooms using snake. Fixed sluggish toilet (flushing and refilling) by replacing fill valve.

water heater repair
 + -1 moreMark was a little late but the office called in & notified me that he was running late. Mark was professional, informative, & very pleasant. In terms of price: for plumbers, that's what it costs. There's really no choice. Thus the "n/a". However, we always try to use D & F.
Description of Work: Replaced "dip tube". Old one had corroded to 5 inches & half a tube. I can't believe we had hot water at all. Mark Temperini, from D & F, also scraped out the dip tube particles from the washing machine solenoid valve. Like having a tooth drilled! Seriously. Tested all faucet filters & recommended complete drain, which I did. Recommended a whole house flush & hot water tank scour to remove particles. I'll see how this goes before doing that. He tried to flush the dishwasher, but it would have to be moved, so we decided against it. He was here 1.25 hours.

 + -1 moreI have a very small garage, so I worried that getting this upgrade might crowd out my being able to park my car inside. The solution recommended by D&F worked, the installer showed up promptly and finished the job early. The installation was clean and the installer also answered all my questions in a friendly, professional manner.
Description of Work: D & F was contracted to replace my ancient hot water heater. The old water heaters location and the unit itself were not to code, so the new unit had to be placed elsewhere across my garage.

 + -1 moreReally good experience. Jesse arrived before he was scheduled. He was very knowledgeable, proficient, pleasant to work with and explained things as I watched. He discovered that the line was blocked with some unknown pieces of rubber. Although he cleared the line, he could not guarantee that it wouldn't happen again as he was not able to identify the pieces of rubber or their source.
Description of Work: Cleared hot water line to bathtub that was blocked with something. There was no flow of hot water at all.

However, I was disappointed that he did not have an explanation for our dishwasher problem. He claimed that there was nothing wrong, but we continue to find big puddles on our kitchen floor every second or third time we run it.

He explained everything he was doing, worked efficiently, and gave advice about fixtures, future potential repair needs, etc. He had all the parts needed to make all repairs. While he was at my house, he called the manufacturer and got those parts covered under warranty. I would definitely recommend this company, and I will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Repairs included a leaky pipe under the bathroom sink that required a new trap and a relentlessly running toilet that required a new part, too. In another bathroom, I had bathtub faucets with broken parts so that they wouldn't turn off completely. New parts were put into those as well.
