D & F Plumbing, Heating and Cooling

Great. Was able to schedule quickly and had responsive customer care - had an appointment for 2:30 on a Friday. He was late due to a traffic accident and their team kept me updated with eta. When plumber arrived (Randy) he was personable, professional and knowledgeable. Fixed the issue, answered questions and was overall great. Definitely will book again in the future.

Emergency plumber came over, assess problem and took $900 down payment. Turned off water main and planned to return in the next day to complete job. The flood continued and I realized water main also broken, kitchen and basement flooding. I called again at 8:30, 9:30, and 10:15 pm to follow up for ongoing emergency. Cesar at the “customer care team” call center recurrently stated “a technician will call you as soon as they can. I’m marking this as a multiple call.” No one responded despite having my credit card number and my $900, and my kitchen and basement continued to flood. This is not really a reliable company in an emergency. High prices and no way to call a manager or otherwise intervene, very poor customer service after hours.

I contacted D and F plumbing Oct 6, 2020 for a leaking pipe. I was quickly up sold, by a high pressured salesman, to a full house re-pipe. The price was quite high, but I decided to hire them because I was guaranteed that the job would take no more than 4 days to complete, with minimal hassle to me, and minimal clean up needed afterwards. I was paying a premium price, and I expected a premium job. None of what D and F told me was true. The work D and F did was negligent since the project started. The bulk of their work may have been done in 6 days, but the aftermath of the mess they created, their irresponsible, unprofessional work, total disregard of my home, and lack of communication caused the project to go on much longer. It took 63 days before the job was approved by city inspectors. They hounded me to pay the invoice, and refused to give me information that I requested before I paid the bill. When I explained that we had a death in the family, and would follow up with them the following week, they questioned my circumstances and sent me to collections. They were neglectful in following the safety protocols during covid (masks were not enforced.) Their lack of response to my concern, reflects on their indifference to following those safety measures. From their owner, to project manager, to billing department, to plumbers in my home, I felt disregarded and disrespected. Their website, their office, and the job contract stresses how D an F strives for customer satisfaction. I am extremely dissatisfied with their lack of care, communication, and professionalism. They offer the customer neglectful work at a very high price.

Joe Hammers was the plumber who arrived. He was informative, personable, and easy to talk to. I am not home repair savvy, but Joe made it easy to understand my options.

Based upon Angie's List, in Sept 2020 I called D & F Plumbing, Inc., Portland, Oregon for a backed up downstairs residential shower drain. A detailed description of the problem was provided. This was a non-emergency, no rush, weekday request. On Sep 29 a D & F Plumbing service man arrived. After looking at the problem he concluded he needed a power snake. He had to call and wait for, as I recall, over an hour for a second employee to bring equipment he should have had with him. After spending approximately one hour, he said he was not able to unclog the drain. He charged us, and at the time we paid, $299, for the visit. He explained that he would need to return the following day with more robust equipment and estimated there would be an additional cost of $995. He CLAIMED he was trying to "save us money" so that we would not have to break into the concrete foundation. He also said he would not charge us the $119 dispatch fee (how very nice of him). It felt like we were being conned. Being senior citizens on fixed income we were shocked and threatened by this estimate. I decided to try to fix the drain myself. Using an inexpensive hose attachment I had in my garage, I was able to clear the drain in less than 15 minutes. We immediately called D&F Plumbing, spoke to someone in their office, and CANCELLED the second visit which was scheduled for the following day. Although we had cancelled, the service man showed up the next day. We told him that I had fixed the problem AND cancelled the service the previous day. Imagine our surprise four months later when we received a bill for $995 for services that had been cancelled and ALSO not provided (they did not fix the drain, I did). Quite frankly, given the time and trouble this company created, I believe they should be reimbursing me for the time and distress they have caused. I have filed a dispute resolution claim with my credit card company.

Plumber did a good job, but took almost 4 hours to connect 6 small pieces of plastic pipe. Then used a restrictive pipe for an air gap and water flowed all over everything. The original air gap utilized a 7/8" rubber hose, which was already connected and changed to something that would not work. There was no replacing anything, as all the old plumbing was eliminated and just required new plastic pipe. The time for this job was outrageous for a job that was an hour max and the price? well...785 dollars for this? Never again will we use D and F, this price is outrageous for such a small job.....

D & F Plumbing did a great job! They were on schedule and on budget. They made sure to keep me informed of the process and answered all my questions. I would definitely hire them again.

Once again, I had a wonderful experience working with D&F Plumbing! From the beginning, Ozzy did a wonderful job explaining everything in a way that I could understand and make informed decisions about. The team (Ozzy, Warren, and Mark) were friendly, highly skilled, communicative, and respectful of our house. I would happily hire any of them for plumbing work again. My wife and I are very happy with our full repipe and the work the plumbers did helping us with our bathroom model. The work was quick, clean, and of very high quality. 1st appointment didn’t show, said they were busy do something else. 2nd day came and did estimate. Guy came late afternoon Friday after I called to demolish concrete sinks. Next guy came Tuesday and said would only be there half day. I was very unhappy as was told this would be 1 day project. He didn’t come with what he needed and was gone almost hour. Came Wednesday and did finish the job. I did get 10% discount, just would of liked job done in 1 day like I was told.

It went very well they do quality work I have used them on many occasion for my business and for personal I refer them out all of the time because they always have quality plumbers

Wayne did a great job removing the old faucet and installing the new faucet. He also did a good job of cleaning up. My complaint is the price ($602.99 with a senior discount and I did agree to). He was here a little over a hour. It is partly my fault, I should have checked the price with other plumbers. The price is over twice the price charged by other plumbers in the Gresham area. I feel I deserve a refund of $250. I also want to let you know I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and may file a complaint with the CCB.

Service technician was prompt, made visual inspection of old faucet and recommended replacing. Discussed alternative brands and provided an "estimate" of what the parts and installation "could cost" which I was asked to, and did sign. Technician secured new faucet and returned within roughly 30-minutes to remove old faucet and install new one. When work was completed I was asked to sign the work order in the amount of the "estimate" and was told I would receive a detailed invoice later. The emailed invoice only stated that I was charged the full amount of the "estimate", with no breakdown for parts or labor. I called to inquire about this and was told they don't provide "that information". I spoke with two office employees and received none of that requested parts & labor information. I was told that this is and has been for quite some time "standard practice in the plumbing business "here". I find that hard to believe and, if correct, a BAD business practice.

Excellent. Joe Hammers was knowledgeable, personable, and service oriented. He is an excellent rep of D and F Plumging.

Everything went great! Joe was super helpful explaining the scope of work. The work performed was high quality, completed in a timely manner and well executed. I would highly recommend Joe Hammers and D&F Plumbing.

wonderful job. Joe H. was so very helpful and courteous. Not only did he do what we had asked, but he discovered that the supply line to our recently installed new dishwasher (not installed by D&F) was leaking and fixed it free of charge.

It went very well. Mr. Smith and Mr. Deuel performed the necessary work expeditiously. So far everything is working just fine.

D & F are the best! I have had them doing plumbing projects for years in all of our properties that go back into the 1980! I don’t even hesitate, I just call and the work gets done professionally, carefully and in a timely fashion! Joe Hammers is awesome! Very personal young man with good work ethics and professional in every aspect! Thanks again to D&F for helping me out with this newest endeavor! Please, stay safe and God Bless us all!

Excellent from Aerren's inspection, outline of options, pricing, etc. , to Robert the next day installing the new water heater. Both of them answered all our question, were friendly & professional. Everything was up & running in a couple of hours. They're a bit pricey, but considering this was an emergency, they responded fast.

D&F Plumbing has saved us twice now! Twice we've called multiple plumbers after hours and D&F is the only company that has a plumber available within 24 hours. This time, we called at 6pm on December 23rd when our hot water heater went out (with a house full of guests!). D&F had someone scheduled for the next morning. Joe called ahead of time and was able to find a water heater in their stock and replace it that day. We were so appreciative that we didn't have to wait until after the holidays for hot water! We're D&F Fans!

It was great! Ozzy did an amazing job, was very friendly, and explained what he was doing very clearly. Also helped me understand more about my piping system and future work we need to do

Plumber came out the same day as called (Saturday) to fix a leaking valve in the bathroom. Was charged $200 immediately to come out to look at the repair, which is reasonable. The quoted an insanely high amount of money to fix it ($1600), but had to agree to because leak was causing property damage. I was told by the plumber the $1600 would be the total for the day including the initial fee to come out. Was then billed $1800 ($1600 + $200). I attempted to resolve the additional $200 with the Contractor that was not agreed to, but was told by the Contractor the $200 was already paid and agreed to, so they were not lying when they said $1600 would be the total for the repair.

In less than 10 minutes I had an estimate for over $1200. I wasted my money on getting an estimate. I don't recommend this company.

Robert Stock was very professional, at the same time personable. He answered all of our questions, and gave us information if we needed future work. We would definitely request him back if possible.

Quote came in 6 times higher than other bid and they said we had to uninstall old sink and they stated they wouldn’t be responsible for any damage to our countertop.

The good part was they contacted me quickly and were able to fit me in their schedule within a couple of days. The technician seemed to do a good job. We were not able to test the drain because we have to wait for the silicon to dry. The bad.....I was charged $1252.19 for a part that can be found on Amazon for about $35 and about an hours worth of work. Not technical work either. Hand saw one pipe. Put the drain in from above. Put a fitting on below. Cut a replacement pipe to connect shower drain to pipe. Put in the rest of the parts for the drain from above. Done....I am all for paying a fair wage and paying for expertise, but this is ridiculous. I would love to find a plumbing company that charged a fair price. I truly hope this company will read this review and rethink their pricing system.
