At first, it went OK. Even though he did not have a professional appearance, for a couple weeks, Blake and a partner of his showed up more or less on time, did decent work. He actually seemed to have decent knowledge and skills, as well as having some good ideas. He seemed very sincere. The trouble started when he asked for an advance in exchange for a lower hourly rate. He gave the story of being in difficult financial straits and just needed $2000 to get back on track. DON'T EVER PAY HIM ANY ADVANCE!!!! He continued to show up for a bit longer, but work wasn't getting done, and he soon asked for more. When I refused until the work I had already paid for was completed, he walked off the job and I never saw him again. He assured me for weeks that he was coming back or that he would repay me, but of course, I haven't seen anything. He took me for a substantial amount, and I would not recommend him to anyone. He may be able to do the job as long as you pay NOTHING in advance.
