You requested a quote and provided us with a specific square footage of carpet you wanted cleaned, and we provide an accurate cost. You wanted a quote for 1200 sq ft of carpet cleaning. You were quoted $384 for 1200 sq ft of carpet to be cleaned. We also attempted to verify that the figure you provided to us was accurate. In this particular situation, we determined, you were inaccurate and overstated the amount of carpet you were requesting to be cleaned. We determined you had significantly less area to clean and we communicated this to you (we determined you had approximately 800 sq ft of area to clean). You were provided the cost for 800 sq ft. of area to be cleaned. You did not seem interested in this quote and kept asking for a cost for 1200 sq ft of cleaning. You continued to get a price of $384 for 1200 sq ft of area to be cleaned. The cost of the couch was not quoted, because you continued to focus on the carpet cleaning cost alone and tell us all about your excavation business. When we arrived, the technician measured the carpeted areas to be cleaned and the the cost was $254.08. We added the cost of the couch, and the total bill was $350. You used a 10% coupon and paid $315.00. To recap, we cleaned your carpets and couch for $315. You received a $384 quote on the phone for CARPETS ONLY. Unfortunately, we do not clean couches for free. We attempt to provide an accurate quote to every client, and apologize for any misunderstanding related to the cost of your job. Thank you for providing this helpful feedback. We take great pride in quoting accurately over the phone, to eliminate any surprises in cost, on the day of the appointment. For clarification, the initial phone call was to clean a love seat. The quote was $135, which is our minimum charge. The value of the work was disclosed as $80 for a 5 foot love seat. When the tech arrived, the love seat was measured at 6 foot and the actual value became $96, however, the estimate provided remained the same. $135 minimum charge. The job description then changed and carpet cleaning WAS ADDED in an office and family room ($81.92 value). The total cost became $177.92 and a 10% coupon was presented and -$17.79 was deducted from the invoice. The job total became $160.13. The estimate given over the phone went up $25.13 by adding carpet cleaning in the office and family room. I hope this information is helpful.
