Repipe Specialists are great guys. I am so glad I decided to get a bid from these guys, despite a negative review a woman left on both Yelp and Angie’s list about her experience with the Estimator. I will admit, as a woman waiting alone for his arrival, I wondered if it would be awkward. But we desperately needed the plumbing in our 104 year old home addressed, and we heard these guys could save us a quarter of the cost a plumber would ask for the same work, and they could do it all quickly, also a necessity in our case with only one bathroom. When Doug the Estimator arrived, he was just what I’d expect in a plumbing Estimator…. A bit hard boiled, like he enjoys his coffee black with an occasional cigarette even if it’s not socially acceptable anymore, and I found him to be a very straightforward, a no nonsense fellow and we talked about the job with ease as well as the Seahawks and life, and upon reflection I enjoyed our time together. If anyone was going to make Doug bristle, I’m betting it would be a Butch D*** like me, but nothing could be farther from the truth, he was a straight up, everyday guy that I could communicate with easily. We performed a walkthrough and I told him what I wanted, then he calculated the number of valves and footage of pipe I would need and right there at my coffee table he wrote up the final bid with specific work detailed in fifteen minutes or so, which I accepted on the spot. He bid new supply lines for my entire house from my new gas hot water heater they were connecting up for me with 2 new hose bibs outside front and back and installing my new kitchen faucet with their new P trap assembly, with removal and hauling of all my old pipes for about $4000 minus the 20% their website coupon, and he also included quotes for replacing the kitchen drain line, and removal of the laundry sink from the basement as I requested. When I inquired about redoing the main line from the curb to my new water heater he told me once they cut into the line they would show me its condition and let me decide if that’s something I’d want them to do at that time, and he included a price for that work on my bid. He said they would do the entire job in one day, and would likely be done by about 3 PM. I highly doubted that was possible with so much work needing to be done. Doug promised what the subcontractors, who are known as Global plumbing and also as Pacific Plumbing, were able to deliver. They arrived about 9:30AM, a small army of polite men spread out throughout my house downstairs and up, everyone went to work without delay, and by 3 O’clock, I’ll be darned if they finished not only the original supply lines work that was bid, but a new mainline connection coming in from the street, the concrete laundry sink demolished and removed along with the old water heater, they installed all new drain lines throughout the entire house, and even a section of my main stack that had less than elegant prior tie ins was removed and streamlined with a new section that supplied new drain connections for every main floor drain and got rid of all my old sketchy connections. One thing I really appreciate about the way Repipe Specialists work is that the main company comes out, assesses your need, writes your bid and guarantees the work. The local subcontractor then honors that agreement, and offers you side work as needed and as discovered on the jobsite that you can choose to have them do or not, no need for additional bids and extra trips out, the same crew that came to do the job brought everything they might possibly need with them, and they split off a portion of the crew to go tackle that area. They trenched my front lawn by hand on the spur of the moment, and returned all the dirt and sod so well, I could only find a few handfuls of material to tidy up afterwards. We had already put up our Halloween decorations, including tombstones in the lawn and cobwebbing all over the porch and stairs, very obstructive unfortunately, and with all the materials coming in and out of that doorway, I am amazed they did not harm a single thing. For any of my neighbors who drove off to work at 9AM and returned at 5PM, they would have no idea my entire plumbing from stem to stern both supply and drain lines, had been replaced that day, there was very little evidence the workers had been here at all. As for inside my home, they were pleasant fellows who carefully took apart the old material and removed it, rather than tearing it out of the walls. Thank you. I appreciate the men of Global plumbing are not children, they knew their trade, and did their work fast and well. The few little minor adjustments that inevitably need tweaking showed up in the first 24 hours, I called Bill and Baba, the senior men of the crew, and Baba himself came back out with a helper the very same day to do the minor adjustments needed for everything to be just great. These guys do nothing but repipe old houses in the Northwest, so they know how to deal with the unique things they find in your old plumbing. The leak that turned up in my kitchen P trap after they left was due to my old sink’s strainer threads being shot, but Baba put on brass fittings for both drains to join them to the white drain line and it is water tight now! I highly doubt you could stump these guys, my main stack looked like tangled spaghetti, and they just removed the problems others before had added to with their previous “improvements.” These guys do not hesitate, they have seen this before, and know how to fix it. I am amazed that within about a 6 hour span, they arrived, assessed, and restored my house, every bit of its plumbing and drain lines replaced and main stack repaired. Thank you Bill, Baba, Happy, Jesse, and all the guys…. Clean, hot water is great! As for cost, a dozen years ago a plumber came out and said we needed an entire repipe. They said the piece from the road to the hot water heater was $2500, and replacing the interior supply and drains was $5,000. In the last 90 days, we had a plumbing subcontractor crawl our house and determine we needed $3,500 worth of supply line replacement work from him so a contractor could remodel our bathroom, but his work would not have addressed the water heater, the kitchen, or the drain lines, never mind the main stack. He would have just added to the snarl. From Repipe Specialists and Global, the original supply work was bid at $3360, the Repipe Specialist bid also listed the price for trenching and replacing the main line at $2000, the kitchen faucet install with Ptraps rebuild at $250, the Kitchen drain line run replaced for $700 and demolition of the 500 pound concrete double laundry sink and abandoning its plumbing supply and drain lines at $250. The additional bid onsite from Global including the main stack restoration and all the bathroom drain lines and venting for $1500, so when it was all said and done, with tax, doing everything we spent $8500. We had hoped to either take on the 2k main line work, or up to 2k of drain lines, but when you see how quickly and efficiently they can replace and restore any plumbing concern you have on the spot, you might consider what some people say: There are 3 things everyone wants, Fast, Good and Cheap. You can have 2 out of 3, most times. In other words, if you get it cheap and fast, it may not be good. If you get it cheap and good, it may not be fast. And so on. I have always wanted the work to be good, and struggle with the balance between fast and cheap. My time is money, too, this is our only bathroom and inconvenience is a consideration. Since these guys held themselves out as fast, I wondered if the quality of the work would be an issue. It was not. And as for the price, I feel I got everything the house could hope for, at the price a single plumber might take weeks to do and charge the same or more, and just to tie in to old pipes that were not permanently restored. With Global and Pacific Plumbing, I feel like the Big Dudes of plumbing came in here and had the Titanium stones to repair the spine of my house! When I run the hot water, and look under the kitchen sink and see no leaks I now say out loud, “Thanks, Baba!” You were all gentlemen, and as a woman home alone to supervise your exquisite ballet of removal and installation and make the decisions needed in real time, I can say I was comfortable and pleasantly surprised at your crew’s professionalism and courtesy towards our beloved home. I hope your plumbing makes her last another 104 years.

The sub-contractors, Pacific Plumbing, did an excellent job. I just wish I had called them directly. Repipe Specialists is just a slick re-seller. Call the actual plumbing companies doing the work and skip the sales job from these people.

Nick the foreman and his workers arrived right on time and went directly to work. The guys knew just what they were doing. My wife was dubious that they could finish the job in one day but 8 or so hours later, right on schedule they were done. They re-patched all the holes expertly, and cleaned up after themselves very well. These guys were real pros. They did a great job and we couldn't be more pleased with the results. I would recommend this company whole-heartedly to anyone who needs this service. PS: I noticed a couple of negative reviews of Doug the estimator. Doug did our estimate, too, and he was fine. He answered all my questions, was friendly and polite, and described thoroughly what the work to be done would consist of. Lighten up, grumps!

My review is long overdue. The job was excellent and better than expected!! They were very accommodating to my schedule. My hours are tight so one thing that was important while I researched other companies was their flexibility in terms of time and how soon the job could be done. Another bonus --- they are BBB accredited A+ and this is very important to me when choosing any type of major work on my family's house. Repipe met all of my needs and more. When I first met Doug (repipe rep) he was friendly and easy going, I didn't feel pressured into buying anything. I also had my cousin at the house who's thinking about repiping as well and we both had many questions for him. He was patient and stayed late to answer all our questions. He told me about Nick and his crew and what to expect. When I first met Nick he was really cool. Looking around the house they noticed I couldn't get to a shelf full of my fathers supplies and that was blocking the pipe. Well they easily helped move these items no question. Nick oversaw all the repiping and had at least 6 guys throughout the house working continuously. They told me in at 830am and out by 430pm. My family didn't believe it, but it happened. They were fast and efficient. Nick was really great to work with, I enjoyed his personality and getting to know him. He's personable yet professional. I highly recommend this group. No pressure, positive to work with and provided professional suggestions when needed around the house. Thank you Repipe!

Our home was built in 1948. All the plumbing was original and failing. The lower level of the house is cedar paneled ceilings and walls. We were concerned about the amount of damage that would occur to chase and replace the plumbing which runs through that area. The first company that gave us a bid told us they did no repair work after repiping. Additionally, they wanted us to the remove the cedar paneling on the ceiling and on some walls prior to starting the project. They also told us the project would take 1-2 weeks. We were delighted when the Repipe Specialist Estimator told us they would be able to do the job with minimal damage to the cedar ceilings and walls and we wouldn't need to do anything to prepare. He also insured us that their crew would do all the patch and repair work throughout the house with the exception of painting and some tile work that would need to be done in one of the showers. He also said the job would only take a day and half and we would not have to go over night without water. The price bids from both companies were comparable. The next week, a large crew from Repipe Specialists showed up (on time) at our house. The foreman analysed the house with all of its challenges and immediately got the crew started. Everyone knew what their specific assignment was and got to work. They were courteous and skilled in their profession. Questions were asked and answered as needed throughout the next day and a half. As promised, very little damage was done AND the house was left vacuumed and clean. I highly recommend the Repipe Specialist Team!

They were prompt in providing their bid (about $4,300), which was dramatically lower than the other three bids we obtained (all three around $7,000). Scheduling the job was quick and accommodating. Nick and his crew of several workers arrived on-time. They were polite and professional, and broke into teams that worked quickly inside and out. The job was completed much faster than we expected, and everything was cleaned up well. A couple of weeks after the job was completed, we bought a new refrigerator that needed a new water supply hookup. We were so happy with the repiping job that we called them again for the new hookup for the refrigerator. They came out quickly and again did a great job. We would use them again and refer them to others without hesitation.

I got quotes from multiple companies and Repipe Specialists was about $1000 under their competition. They also guaranteed the work for life which made them the easy choice. They showed up on a Monday and had all of the work done by Tuesday night. My water tastes better, the rust colored showers are finally over. Great service, thank you!

The Repipe Specialists of Washington's estimator, Doug, was inattentive and quite disengaged when he arrived at our home to provide an estimate. When he came in the house, he reeked of cigarette smoke. Overall, he did not pay attention to our homeowner concerns. He had unresponsive "canned" answers which were without specific application to our home. Sort of , "One size fits all" attitude and response. As he was leaving, he asked if he could let his little dog out of the car to run on the golf course which adjoins our property. We, of course, said no. When he left, he let his dog out of his car (on a leash) and took it to one of our flower beds to relieve itself! We got his proposal the next day. Included in his bid was a note that he had miscalculated the size of the job and actually his bid should have been about $1,200.00 higher. Why he didn't just include the cost for his "mistake" is beyond me. He also added that if we accepted his proposal, we would not have to pay the additional charges associated with his miscalculations. Overall, from the initial meeting through his bidding process up to and including his written proposal, we thought he was unprofessional, bored, inattentive and generally did not engender any reason to use the services of his company. We would not recommend this company (at least not their estimator, Doug).
Description of Work: We ultimately obtained four bids to repipe our 4,000 square foot house. They ranged from $7,800.00 to $12,000.00 (Repipe Specialists of Washington being the highest). We selected Monarch Plumbing whose bid was about $10,000.00.

Response from Repipe Specialists of Washington Inc
We wish you had a better experience. We have worked diligently for over 20 years to provide our customers with quality service at an affordable price. In reality it is actually rare we are highest price due to the fact that we specialize in repiping. You may be happy to know that Doug has in fact quit smoking and is working hard everyday to help his customers solve their repiping needs. Best regards, Jeff Butler

Re-Pipe Specialists made a bid on repiping my residential home in August, 2013--bid was lowest, but salesman Doug Poirier was egotistical and pushy from the outset (calling to ask that I move up his appointment earlier in the day so that he could finish his work day early, calling the next day to urge me to place a down payment so that he could win a bonus of some sort), became increasingly rude (he hates answering email--for a time, he simply stopped answering email, ignored questions about what materials I needed to buy for the installation), insisting on telephone calls that he replies to on his schedule. He bridles when customers don't conform to his instructions, and he finally caused me to cancel the down payment with the company when he lied to his scheduling staff about having tried to call me about setting an installation date days after taking my credit card information-- he had not called me or allowed and quot;hisand quot; tech crew to notify me. Instead of apologizing for his delays and lying to his own front-office staff, he blamed scheduling delays on me, even writing a flame email to me personally noting so. This is the worst example of business and quot;professionalismand quot; that I've ever witnessed or experienced. The main office staff (Linda) is very professional and prompt, but because owners/staff allow Doug Poirier such authority and lack of accountability, the company will unfortunately suffer--three friends I know need repiping and depend on my recommendations, but I would never after this experience recommend this company.

A Repipe Specialists estimator came to our home to provide an estimate. He was on time and seemed courteous enough. My spouse became busy with the baby so I said "It's fine. I'll do the walk through since I'll be doing the hiring, firing and dealing with contractors anyway. Let me show you what needs to be done." Guess he didn't really like that because I saw him visibly stiffen. We then proceeded to downstairs and I was asking him if rerouting a pipe from one room to another would be doable when in the middle of my question he curtly and abruptly cut me off and said "NO. No, can't do it." To which I replied "Excuse me? I didn't even finish my question. Can we reroute the pipe from this room to the other since there are exposed beams in the other?" "Oh that! Oh yes, we can definitely do that." he said.. After finishing our walk through, we were more at ease with one another and sat down on the couch to talk some more and speak numbers. When we were doing that he asked me "Are you Puerto Rican?" An odd question, since I'm almost certain this doesn't have too much to do with the bid (I think). "No, but I am Costa Rican." I said. Meaningless, harmless conversation right? Wrong. He then proceeded to ask compare me to Rosie Perez while asking my spouse mid-laughter "Does she curse like a sailor too?!" His question must've sounded louder since he does have a mid-century, booming voice. My husband and I were quite taken aback by this question. "No. She doesn't" he replied. I just shook my head. Smiled politely and sat down. I understand that the world may be changing and changing fast for many people. I make all the executive decisions in my house while my husband makes the financial ones. I read over the contracts, I hire, I fire, I interview and I refer and keep persons employed with additional customers as most of our friends own homes. We just happen to have an older one so we have lots of experience. Perhaps if I wasn't a woman he wouldn't have patted the seat next to him to call me over so that I'd sit down and review the contract with him or feel at ease asking my husband if I cursed like a sailor. Incidentally, I'm full-blooded American. That statement is as uncomfortable for me to write as it is for you to read. This is an awkward statement since this doesn't have anything to do with the overall job but it is perfectly relevant to the encounter. Furthermore, I truly can't be sure but if I was a 6 foot tall white male with blond hair and blue eyes, I suspect the question of colorful speech may have never arisen. I happen to have a computer science degree and am well educated. I also happen to be a petite woman of color who makes decisions and has the final say as to whom we contract in our home (especially, since I will be the one supervising the job). While the estimator did a nice job at smoothing things over and eliciting laughter in an otherwise uncomfortable situation, one that he may or may not realize he inadvertently caused, I think we'll move in a different direction. Repipe Specialists may do good work and while the price is quite decent we will not and did not hire this service provider so cannot attest to the quality of workmanship. ========= UPDATE: 01/09/14 The Repipe Specialists' estimator knocked on my door. He came to extend his apologies for our previous encounter because he read my review on Angie's List. He also came to let me know that his boss had extended a $300 rebate on the original quote. I appreciate him coming to my door and offering a face-to-face apology since it's something he could have done on the phone. ========= UPDATE: 03/22/14 The RS estimator wrote me a letter including a Starbucks card. The letter included a second apology and a request to remove my review. I wrote a letter back to the estimator respectfully declining the request and returning the card (since I'm not taking the review down). All in all, it was nice to see the apology even if it may have been offered out of self interest. Because of this, I will be compromising and removing his name from the review. I have requested he not contact me again regarding this matter since the apologies have been heard, accepted and this is no longer a matter. Thank you.

We heard about Repipe Specialists on the radio. After checking reviews on Angie's List, we decided to have them come out and give us an estimate for repiping our rental property. The price seemed right, so we scheduled the work. Nick and his crew arrived on time, did the work quickly and respected our property. All of the guys (there were 6 or 7 of them) were very friendly and easy to work with. They started at approximately 9 am and were finished (plumbing and drywall) by 4 pm. I would highly recommend this company for your repiping needs. I also would not hesitate to hire Nick and his guys at Global Plumbing for other plumbing repair jobs.

Note: The on-site evaluation, recommendations, and contract were prepared by the company called Repipe Specialists. The actual work was performed by Global Plumbing (f.k.a. Pacific Plumbing.) Global arrived on-time with all the staff, materials, and tools they needed to handle the work. It was fully completed between the hours of 8:30 and 5pm, including an unexpected 27 feet of work between the house and water main. Bill and his crew were pleasant and hard-working. He was knowledgeable and raised issues/provided options for me along the way. (There are just some things that crop up once piping is actually visible, etc...) We are very happy with our new pipes. A significant issue was our initial intention to go with an exterior tankless water heater. When all the general issues about them got combined with detailed information from Global Plumbing specific to our pipes/set-up, we elected to stick with the big old inside water heater. The professionalism category received a B grade solely because I believe professionalism goes beyond knowledge/technical skills and punctuality. Global Plumbing did do some cleaning up at the end, but needs to do better. Examples: both bath tubs were left with debris in them, a bathroom floor was left dirty and the two throw rugs left in the hallway, a couple of small blops of drywall goop ended up on the carpet (which is light oatmeal colored so it wouldn't jump out at them and has done no harm), the rolling hose cart was pulled away from the house so they could do the exterior work, then left in the yard, with the hose unattached to the faucet. It didn't take me very long or much effort to deal with it, but I don't think my expectation that they would do it is unreasonable. (Note: I was tired at day's end and in a hurry to get dinner started. I did not do the kind of final walk-through that I should have done. We don't get things done to the house very often so I am rusty at that.) I had some follow-up questions which Repipe Specialists and Nick promptly attended to. I would be comfortable working with both Repipe Specialists and Global Plumbing in the future.

3 Plumbers and 3 assistants showed up on time, reviewed job and got to work immediately. I had moved furniture and removed personal items from under sinks and in laundry room. Moved washing machine and refrigerator, but completely underestimated all the additional personal items and furniture that needed to be moved for access points I didn't think about or anticipate. - closets, attic, etc. The crew did a good job covering furniture and personal items with drop clothes and drop curtains, but once drywall started to be cut I got very concerned about the number of holes needed for complete access. It was necessary to cut 44 different holes to gain access to all the plumbing and the majority of them were in a downstairs bedroom that had an adjacent bathroom, a bathroom above it and piping that led to a hose bib outside the home. These holes were big. Other major access points were in utility room where water heater and laundy were located. Again - big holes at least 3 ft x 3 ft. Other holes were about 1ft x 1 ft. Old pipes were cut - most of old pipe was removed, but some was left as additional holes would have been required to remove it. Lots of time was spent by crew locating the direction of where the pipe went once it was located in the wall - did it turn left, right or up, down? New pipe went in and was mechanically joined. Very tough and robust pex piping - color coded red for hot and blue for cold. Pex joints / couplings and copper behind valves. Once all piping was fed and joined + fixtures replaced (included in bid) they pressure tested and immediately started on the drywall. The crew found an improper routing of the water heater pressure relief valve into the crawl space. They corrected this mistake made by original plumber on day 2 and did it to code by routing the valve piping into a drain pipe. The rough in drywall was almost completely finished by the evening of the first day. Mud and finishing was done the second day which took most of the day. The lead plumber went through all the work that had been done the first day and we did a walk-through on the second day. The crew cleaned up - swept, mopped and cleaned their work area in garage, front of house. There was lots of dust, but they did a good job getting most of it. It took me another two weeks to complete texturizing and painting (not included in bid). All in all it was a ton of work by the contractor and me, but what a relief it is to have new plumbing that doesn't spring a leak every six weeks. We were at the point of shutting off the water at the main value in garage every night when we went to bed. Good to get back to normal. I was impressed about the professionalism, thoroughness and quality of the work. Some drywall rework could have been better (smoother), but once it was textured and painted it was hard to see any defects. They had all materials on hand - drywall, mud, tape, etc. It wasn't a subcontracted piece of the job - same crew, minus two plumbers on second day. Job was expensive, but was done correctly - no hidden costs, fixed a defect in the original plumbing, replaced bathroom fixtures with quality Moen products and used copper where needed. The crew worked in small closets, under sinks, behind appliances, etc. They worked hard - took no prolonged breaks or more than 30-40 minutes for lunch.
Description of Work: Repiped entire house from main line in garage to all fixtures in house excluding master bath which had recently been remodeled and re-plumbed. Replacement necessary due to original PB piping deterioration and several major leaks and bursts. Replacement of PB claim denied in class action suit and insurance would not cover pipe replacement so I was looking for best value in complete pipe replacement as expense was all out of pocket. Three bids received. Repipe was highest, but also committed to complete job in one day (to have flowing water to all fixtures) and another day to fix drywall. Other bids committed to running water in the same day, but would take a week to complete entire job - some bathrooms / fixtures out of service for more than one day + drywall work. One company said it could take three weeks. Another company said they would have to pipe up through floor to toilets and sinks, not through drywall. All piping was completed, drywall replaced and mud set and smoothed. Texture and painting was not included in bid from repipe. Other companies suggested I contract drywall separately. Really weren't interested in that portion of job as they were plumbing contractors. Estimate straightforward and thorough. Estimator friendly, professional and didn't try hard sell tactics. Provided pictures of other jobs, samples of pipe, and references. Took a week to schedule a estimator appointment due to full appointment book, but showed up on time and took time to understand job and what was necessary.

It was an excellent service. We also got a free water heater with the service. They provided a better service then other companies I had contacted about. They performed the service without issues and didnt have to trash the house. They were disruptive at all. We had a combination of galvanize and cooper pipes. The repiped with pex piping which is more durable and lasts a lot longer. They also redid the line for water to the refrigerator. They did a lot of water valve changing to have a better shut off system. If I had an issues I would call them, they would come out right away, and fix or explain the issues. Really happy with the service.

The service was excellent! The job was done within a couple of days. They were neat, clean, and whatever holes they needed to make, they patched up nicely. We would hire them again if needed!
Description of Work: They re-piped our entire home. They subcontracted the work out to another company called Pacific Plumbing. They showed me another problem that I was unaware of, and they were able to repair it at the same time. They also installed an on demand water heater.

This work was done almost three years ago but it was only today that I discovered the destruction this crew left behind. We are getting ready to sell the house and I needed to go into the crawl space under the house to clean and repair the dryer vent pipe prior to a home inspection. No one has been under there since the re-pipe work was done. I was horrified at what I found! The dryer vent pipes were disconnected at every single joint and the pipes were scattered around like trees after a wind storm. The dryer has been venting directly into the crawl space for almost three years! In addition, at least one of the furnace duct pipes, more than a foot in diameter, was completely disconnected and allowing the hot air from the furnace to escape into the crawl space instead of being routed into the house. This explains the ultra high heating bills, (that we had been blaming on the windows), that we have paid during the last two winters. We may have noticed this earlier, but this house is occupied by my 98 year old mother and my 70 year old sister. They had complained about the house being cold so we had the furnace tuned up and put storm windows up. Since we had the re-piping done with a permit and the work was inspected by the city, (inspector didn't want to get dirty, so didn't go under the house), we had no idea that the ducts were left in that condition. These people did a despicable thing to a couple of old women because they just wanted to get thier money and get out. This has cost us hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in extra heating costs because of their laziness. They offer a five year warranty but it doesn't cover and quot;consequential damagesand quot;. Pacific Plumbing of Tacoma.
Description of Work: Re-pipe of the entire house. We contracted with Re-Pipe Specialists and they sub-contracted the work to Pacific Plumbing of Tacoma.

Response from Repipe Specialists of Washington Inc
We spoke to the Member this morning. The Member says he had no idea what we were talking about and was completely unaware of any kind of review posted on Angie’s List. We offered to come out and take a look at anything they thought might be less than satisfactory, but Member said that everything was fine and he sold the house and all is good.

My experience with Re-pipe Specialists was very good. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs a repipe.
Description of Work: Repipe Specialists repiped my home, including the main line that leads from the water main to my home. The crew of 6, led by Bill arrived as agreed upon, and proceeded to go to work after walking through my home. I chose to replace my old (1974) galvanized piping with copper. I was happy that Repipe Specialists uses only commercial "L" grade copper in their repipes, and Doug the sales representative showed me that the proper installation of copper pipes (reaming of the connections) was very important to the life expectancy of the pipes. My 40 gallon water heater (11 years old) was replaced as part of the re-pipe. The crew had to cut through drywall and paneling to access the old pipes and install the new ones. The crew was careful about laying down dropcloths in the main traffic areas to reduce the impact of debris, and cleaned up quite well afterwards. The job began at around 9:30 am, and by 5 pm that evening, the re-piping was done, except for the patching. The crew returned the next day to finish up the patching. Afterwards there were a couple of small things that still needed follow-up (eg. an overhead light fixture was not re-attached as the workman indicated I needed to replace the light fixutre with a newer one). I called the number that linked me to "Nick" who was very responsive to my concerns, and sent a 2 man crew to do the follow up a week later. In the mean time I had purchased a new overhead lamp fixture, and the crew attached it. All my concerns were met, and I was very satisfied. Overall I was very happy that such a major job of re-piping could be done in such an efficient manner, and with a crew that was as professional as they were friendly. What I really liked was the ability to call the company if I had any concerns after the re-pipe, and that they want the customer to be 100% satisfied. I did get another estimate from another plumber who specialized in re-piping. He seemed very conscientious, and I felt he would have done a good job. However, because he was a one man operation, the re-pipe would have taken 5-6 days. He would have used the residential (instead of commercial) grade copper, and he did not offer patching. The price difference was about $1000 less. I felt it was worth it to spend more with Re-pipe Specialists, for their quality, for their speed in completing the job, and their desire to make sure the customer is satisfied.
