different businesses about this and Genesis was not the cheapest, but Brian's description of his work was far more detailed and thorough than the others.
We had the pre-purchase inspection done, and Brian recommended a seal test. This is where they increase air pressure inside the RV and use a soapy solution on the exterior to find every little point on the RV that water can potentially get in, and they provide a detailed diagram of those leaks. There was some mis-communication between Brian and I at this point which Brian very professionally resolved when I later realized it. Basically, I thought the recommendation was that the RV was good to go, but the seals are old and a seal test should be done very soon so problems can be addressed. Brian was trying to tell me that the seals are old and a seal test should be done before I buy the RV so problems can be identified before purchase.
With this misunderstanding, I bought the RV, and a short time later, I discovered a problem... one that Brian would have discovered had I understood and followed his recommendation. There was some existing water damage to a corner of the roof. I took the RV back to Genesis, discussed the issue with Brian, and reached a resolution.
This is the kind of situation that separates any old business from one worth doing business with.
Brian sat down with my wife and I and we discussed what had transpired... what I thought he had told me... what he thought he had told me... and we figured out how the mutual misunderstanding occurred. Brian gave me a couple different options for
how the work could be done and explained the advantages, disadvantages, and costs of each. I chose the cheaper of
the two options because of the age of the fifth wheel, and we each took responsibility for our share of the misunderstanding.
We reached a fair and reasonable compromise, and the work was completed on schedule and as promised.
The work was done with great attention to detail. The old sealant was removed cleanly, the new, quality sealant applied neatly and amply, and the lines were clean and pristine. The same can be said of the repair work to the area of water damage; clean, professional, attention to detail. The work was done two months ago and we have been carefully checking it. It looks as perfect now as it did when we picked it up.
Brian is proud of the work his team puts out, and for good reason. He knows he charges a little more than the others, and he?s fine with that because he knows that he is using better quality products and doing better quality work. It was very obvious to me, especially after working through the misunderstanding, that his business relies on repeat customers and word-of-mouth referrals, so he works hard to make sure things are done right.
"Customer, we do not have your name in our records. What name did you have the repair order under? Please give me a call at 253-473-2336, or email me at [email protected]. Thank you. Lisa Holthe Office Manager"
"Member, thank you so much for the review. It is nice to have our team acknowledged as being accommodating. We make every effort to meet and exceed our customers expectations. Thanks again. Brian"
***UPDATE (12.19.12): I appreciate the owner's offer to have me come into his shop and he was very nice when he called; however, it takes an hour each way to get to this shop. I don't have the time or gas money to head into his shop for the second time for him to check out what I have already had my mechanic check out. I really wouldn't like the company to touch the car anymore. I just don't trust the shop at this point.
"Customer, We have spoken two times since your have posted your concerns. Our first conversation you were going to come see me and together we were going to look at your vehicle to see the reason for our recommendations. You have now advised me that you do not have the time to come by. When you are ready please call and ask for me and I will go over your concerns. Thank you for bringing them to my attention. Brian"
"Member, thank you for the review, and the opportunity to service another of your vehicles. We appreciate your description of work performed and your satisfaction with our team. Thanks again. Brian"
