The Chimney Specialists

At the time I found them on Angie's List, they advertised a special for Angie's List customers. When I called to get this discount, the person on the phone acted like this discount did not exist and gave me a hard time when I insisted they give me the discount that was advertised. It was easy to schedule a time for them to come, but then 20 minutes before the time window they called to say they would not be able to make it that day. This was frustrating since I had come home from work early to meet them. Fortunately, they were able to come the next morning and gave a break on the cost as a courtesy. The workmen who came were very quick, polite, instructive, and knowledgeable. It was an overall good experience, balancing a couple negatives with some very good positives.

I was under the impression that the chimney was leaking and in need of repair and that all four fireplaces needed to be swept. The Chimney Specilaists had a great rating on Angie's List, so I called them first. They were very polite and able to set an appointment within a week. Not knowing what I would need serviced once they were at my home I asked and received budget pricing for a variety of scenarios. On the scheduled service day, Kyle called to say they could be there earlier that scheduled if that worked for me. They arrived at the time we agreed upon and introduced themselves before explaining the stpes they would take to determine the work required. As it turned out I did not need the major work I had been told I would need and my chimneys were inspected and found to be clean and functional. They did suggest minor repair on the chimney top, installed three caps (I never knew they weren't there or that they should be), cleaned the exterior of the chimney, wirebrushed, and watersealed. During the test if the sealant they noticed one of the downspouts was clogged and another was running slow. They asked me if it would be OK if they cleaned them for me. Of course, I was pleased to say Yes! I recommend the Chimney Specialists to anyone who is looking for excellent service and quality workmanship.

The aopointment setting was easy with the person that answered the phone, she answered all of my questions about their services. The technicians were later than scheduled but they had a heavy schedule themselves on that day. First they inspected the chimney fireplaces and flues. They told us they looked good and that we could prob wait another year before a sweep. We chose to do it they while they were there. As I said above, the techs were quick and thorough and cleaned up any debri. I really appreciated their honesty around the inspection. Yes we would use them again.

They were very professional from start to finish. They were here when they said they would be and did the job in the timeframe promised.

The crew were very thorough and professional. No messes. Cleaned up after the job was complete. They recommended that we replace a few cracked fire blocks on the next scheduled cleaning.

The young man was prompt and efficient. They were easy to make an appointment with. There was a little accident but they took care of it right away. We had a little black sout fall on my new carpet but they brought in a professional carpet cleaner to clean in up fast. We were very please with the end result.

I think I spent under $100 on that work. He was really nice and did a really good job. He cleaned my insert out completely, which was really nice because a lot of companies leave the ash, but he cleaned it all out. He was just very honest that we made sure that we have it cleaned next year because it was really dirty this time. He was just a really nice person and I liked him a lot. I thought the price I paid was a good price.

The cleaning of the fireplace was good. The tech used a long brush with a shop vac to get the webs and stuff out of the chimney. He left the area clean and was on time for the appointment. I did notice (after he left) there was still some webs on one side of the damper but it's low enough that I'll be able to get it with my vacuum. Next year I will check that area before the tech leaves.

Even with the delay to obtain different parts, the work and professionalism was excellent.

We were very pleased. The company called to confirm the appointment, and the representative was professional, on time, and quick and efficient. We had actually scheduled cleaning appointments with another company twice, and they failed to show both times. We will call this company again for sure.

They quoted me $800-$900 for the job. I liked them. They were courteous, prompt, friendly, and very knowledgeable. As I don?t want the work done immediately, I am holding off on the job. The price seemed reasonable to me. They were professional. Overall, it was a good experience. I will consider them in the future.

I really felt that they were there for us. Even though I was passing on having them install the new damper and repair the chimney top (which would have earned them lots of money), he was extremely helpful and seemed sincerely interested in making certain that I had a good outcome whether I used them or did the work myself. The Chimney Specialists will always be my first call for chimney service.

We scheduled an appointment a few weeks ago, and something came up in which they would be late, and I wasn't able to be there. He called and let me know though and I would use this company.

I contacted the Chimney Specialists about providing an estimate. Within a few days the estimator Jud came to my house to view and make recommendations. I ordered a custom fitted, crowned chase. Within a couple weeks, two technicians arrived at my house. They were very professional and friendly, got to work immediately. The instillation was completed within an hour. Very happy with the experience and most importantly, I do not have to worry about any potential water damage. I have no problem recommending The Chimney Specalists.

They came out immediately. They gave me an estimate and fixed the problem right away. However, I think they overcharged me.

The receptionist was pleasant and let me know that chimney caps cost a flat $175 each (I needed 2), were stainless steel and lasted a lifetime. Additional work needed when the tech arrived would be charged accordingly. She seemed to assume this was for work to be done, not for the estimate that I requested at least three times during the conversation. She asked if I would give a credit card number so the work would be done when they arrived, instead of giving an estimate as I asked. I wanted to get more estimates. The company I chose was local and cost about half what I would have paid going through this company (using stainless steel, lifetime warranty products)..

He showed up on time, was very professional. I have 2 fireplaces with inserts. Cleaned upstairs, saved me some money by saying that downstairs did not need to be cleaned. Cleaned up afterwards. Very happy with service

My overall experience with them was wonderful. They were clean, neat, efficient and on time. They had their routine and executed it well. We had had them out to our house to do an estimate for some work before and we ended not using them. My husband did that work himself. However, we liked them so we called them back. Their price was very reasonable.

Initial contact person was friendly and professional. We made an appointment for just a couple of days later. On the morning, I received a call at 8:20 am saying the technician would need to come between 9:30 and 10 as opposed to 8:30 and 9. He arrived at about 9:35, showed me the cap, spoke about its qualities and warranty, and quickly installed it. He then was able to inform me about the construction of the chimney, etc., in a knowledgeable fashion. Quick and competent. Price was exactly as predicted on the phone.

Showed up early, completed work, completed extra assignments (sealant and crack repair) and were gone in under 45 minutes. Very polite and professional.

I have had some difficulty in getting my chimney swept due to the ladder height requirements. Two other companies simply "drove by" as soon as they had seen the chimney from the street. I live in a two story house with a pre-fab fireplace and a chimney that tops out at about 34 feet. Chimney Specialists showed up in a fully equipped van with two guys, one named Kyle. I was immediately informed by Kyle that I was miss-quoted on the price because the chimney was accessible with less than a 40 foot ladder and was "pre-fab not masonry". The new price was quoted at $154 plus tax for the cleaning and inspection of the cap. If we needed a brand new cap that would be a minimum of $150(I wasn't sure we had a cap because I couldn't tell from the ground). After they inspected the chimney, Kyle explained what they found and how the intended to clean. Turns out the fireplace is in reasonably good condition, the cap was in place and sound. No repairs were recommended at this time. Within 30 minutes, they had the job done, cleaned up and provided a written inspection report. I was very impressed and recommend Chimney Specialists based on this experience.

We had to have them come back out because they caused a leak in our roof when they were cleaning out the chimney. They took care of the problem, but I would have liked it if they would have come out sooner because they did not come out right then.

Excellent. Work was as promised. on schedule and at the estimate. Workers were courteous and did a great job with all the mess. Destruction of the fireplace was difficult due to thick slab on main floor, but they maintained the schedule. Price was best of 3 bids. Gave discount even though I couldn't find the ad in DEX.
