Jeannie sure enough pressured me into buying several extended warranty's and I have to admit she's good at it because I left the dealership with the 100K mile $3000 extended warranty. I made a couple calls to family members and friends and after telling me what I already knew (I don't need any warranty's, Toyota's are too good of running vehicles), I called the dealership the same day and asked them to cancel the warranty. Jeannie said I would have to come in to sign the paper. I drove back to the dealership and signed the paper. She told me the warranty would take effect and then take 4 to 8 weeks to cancel. It seemed odd, why wouldn't they just change it before it went into effect? Against my better judgement and there's nothing I could of done anyways, I just accepted what she was saying and wrote a reminder for myself to check on it in 8 weeks.
Eight weeks later I spend more time calling the credit union to see if there was a $3000 deduction from the loan. Nothing on
their end. I go down to the dealership again (deep down I knew 8 weeks prior I'd be spending more time on this) - Jeannie is not there so I speak to another guy named Brad. Brad sits me down for an hour or so checking several things on the computer and making several phone calls. It turns out the paperwork (cancellation) didn't make it wherever it was supposed to go (Imagine that) - But he ensured me it was an honest mistake and this time he would make sure it went through. But it would take another 4 to 8 weeks. :) REALLY!!
Ten or Eleven weeks later, you guessed it still nothing. I spend more time on the phone with credit union, then more time down at the dealership. Jeannie nor Brad are available so the manager Tim helps me. Tim says it looks like it was processed but something went wrong.
At this point I don't think I'd ever buy another vehicle from this dealership. I run my own business and the time I spent chasing something that should of easily been handled, could of been spent more wisely. I'll never get that time back. In return all the dealership can tell me is it was an honest mistake. I don't know exactly how much the finance person makes in commission when a warranty is sold, but I know they make something. I'm amazed the Dealership would allow their finance person to put their reputation on the line over a couple hundred bucks. I doubt this is the first time.
I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but after happening twice and over 4 months later = It's easy to see what happened here.
Service personnel have all been good representatives for their employer. Good work, quick, courteous, and professional.
MPG, cargo space, Towing capacity, and cloth interior. The sales rep by the name of Joe Nesvara asked me how he could I explained I needed a vehicle. Told him my needs and by the end of the night he had sold me a 2012 Rav4. Once getting home with it I found that the cargo space and the towing capacity were nowhere near my needs. on the 18th I contacted him back explaing my cercumstance and asking for his help. They proceeded to take an ENTIRE MONTH to dick around and waste time going to and from the finacial numbers. WHen I specificly told them I am willing to take a 1500.00 hit if they would just unwind the deal and apply the remaing $12500.00 that I put down toward a rig I needed.
Instead they took the car as trade in gave me $19200.00 for the rav mind you it was not even listed on KBB yet due to how new it was. And then they proceeded to pay off what I owed on the Rav wich was around 12k leaving me with 7k to apply towards a used 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor with 29500 miles on it.
In sumation they screwed me on about 4k worth of money. Even though I bought 5 warranties. Plus when I did buy fabric protection and other protection warranties they failed to scedule that to be done until I called them wondering when I would get this supposed call "to set up a time frame to come in". Their general Manager Dustin Esco would not even call me back when I sent him an email and left voicemails. Complete Sleeze
Yet it was not until I got Sam Smith another General manager from Appleway Cheverolet involved that they started to jump. In my oppinion I would gladly do buisness with Sam and his crew but not Dustin.
This entire scenario has left a partially bitter taste in my mouth about the Car Sales in this state.
