Jerri was meticulous in covering all floor surfaces to prevent spills; masked off areas to be painted; did a great job of matching existing wallboard texture in bathroom, and in the kitchen he repaired poor work done by another company. I will gladly use him for my next project.
Description of Work: Bathroom texture repair of wallboard and painting, painted bathroom walls & ceiling; priming & texture repair in kitchen

This bid was higher than others but we chose it because of contractor's stated experience with doing this kind of work in unique and specialized high end homes, his proximity to us, and "one-stop-shopping" - he could do all the work involved. After Week One the contractor was falling behind. He stated he didn't know or anticipate this-or-that. To refresh, we reviewed verbal exchanges we had during his pre-bid reviews. OK, he said he remembered those exchanges. but just didn't realize the amount of work etc. He showed up the next week with a new and substantially higher bid which we refused. We did a walk-thru with him for project status update, to allow him to give us a new timeline for the work he would complete that week. Every day of that Week Two, to the end of that week, he was still falling further behind in completing the work to his own timeline. We therefore deleted the door painting from the in-home work, and discussed the possibility of us transporting the doors to his workshop after he completed the work in the house. At the end of Week Three he remained behind in meeting his own set timeline & on the last day of Week Three he asked which additional days he could come back to finish We refused. We took the doors out of the scope of work, deleting that cost element from his bid, and made final payment as quoted for the other two parts. Summary description: Unethical - he took our personal copy of his original bid out of our personal documents on a kitchen counter and marked up the price. We called him on it and he retracted, scratched out his "additions". Unprepared and In over his head - although he stated he had done high end specialized homes, it was clear after Week One that he did not know this work. Despite two pre-bid reviews, he was unprepared, and slow. Could not set or keep a timeline for the scope of work. Quality of work - overall, average. Prime and paint was good quality, but wallboard work was a bit rough. A few areas we will have to refinish. Punctuality - Showed every day at 8.30 the first week, left at 5pm on the dot. Last two weeks generally started at 8.00, trying to catch up a bit, & left at 5 to 5.30. On the last day of Week Three, since we refused more days, he stayed until 10.00pm to finish painting but did no clean up. Professionalism - He prepped areas well, with floor protection and sheeting to shield/contain as much dust as possible. Generally friendly and courteous, but spent far too much time trying to socialize & chit-chat throughout the day.
Description of Work: Husband of the Angies List Service Provider was the contract who performed the work. Scope of work was presented as wallboard repair, tape and mud; prep, prime and paint walls; prime and paint doors. This is a log home and therefore has some atypical structure which was specifically pointed out to each of three separate bidders. This company did two reviews and walk-thrus of the proposed job before submitting a bid to us. He bid in 3 cost segments and estimated 2 weeks to completion.

The overall job went superbly. They are among the best that I have found among the house painters. They had incredible honesty.
