Years ago before becoming an Angie's List member, I had sewer backup in a rental, I hired Mclincy's by word of mouth through my handyman to avoid a lawsuit, this was a horrible tenant always finding ways to sue a landlord.  They did do a thorough cleanup job which included sanitizing the entire area, approx. 750 SF basement.  They also cutted out parts of the contaminated drywall and carpet which cost more money to repaired later.  This is an expensive cleaning crew!  The first thing they asked for was my credit card to make sure I paid them.  I hope it doesn't happen again, knowing what they do now, I'd shop around for someone less expensive.

They didn't even start on my house for 3 months. I decided to settle with insurance and McClincy's said the work they did was my fault for not letting them get more money from the insurance. The floor was put in and there is one board with scars on it that wasn't filled in with wax so my socks snag on it. The told the insurance that they would do three coats of paint, (primer + 2 coats). What I received was no primer and one coat even though they charged the insurance. The cabinets they installed were damaged and marked up and they intended on leaving them as is until I pointed out where they were broken. They even tried to repair damaged cabinets when I was told they would replace them. I got in a fight with the supervisor over replacing a certain section of base wall trim and he ensured me he would take care of me and do it right with one piece. Needless to say, it is currently in two pieces. They charged me for porta potty that never arrived and for supervisor hours that were never spent at my house. They even charged me for dealing with the bank and they never even spoke to the bank... I did. I had to hold their hands through the entire process to make sure things were done correctly. I finally got my house back after six months and 3 weeks of that was my family living out of a hotel miles away. I got soooo tired of them and their work that I handed him the final check and closed the door. Things are still not done, but it is things that I can do or touch up. Don't ever use them. They are con artists and trick you into contract with them. smooth talkers but shady work all around.

It was great having someone as experienced as McClincy's in our corner when dealing with the insurance adjustor.  They also walked us through the process of getting everything paid for.  It took a total of 5 months to complete the work but our house is gorgeous now and definitely no smoke smell.  Watching everything in our house get thrown away or packed up and then stripped down was difficult.  Jon and Danny were continually available to answer questions and take care of details.  We even got help with picking out decor and colors and it all came together beautifully.  The lost items were detailed in a list which made submitting to the insurance for reimbursement much easier. Moving back in went smoothly as every box was moved back to the room it had come out of and all other items put back to where they were before.  McClincy's oversaw the removal of our piano, clocks, electronics and clothing.  Each company performed the cleanup well and brought back to the house in great condition.

After all was done I noticed some of the unsatisfactory workmanship. Flooring and plumbing was right on. The problem was with the workers doing the rest of the work. They added a window. The window went in well but the finishing was poor. The tiling around the whole bathtub was set fine but the grouting was inconsistent and now that is a cause for continual attention for mold and mildew control. Final caulking was marginal.

Tim McClincy is amazing!  His enthusiasm for the work he does combined with years of experience made our lives and the house so much better.  He worked hard to make sure that we understood the processes and that the plans for the updates were exactly what we wanted.  Tim's suggestions were valuable in making the new materials look good with what we already had in the house for an overall feeling of harmony in the spaces.Tim's showroom in Renton is a great place to get ideas and compare actual products.  He has his own stone inventory and tools for making countertops at his business location and stands behind his work.  The workers were knowledgeable and professional.  They were on schedule and cleaned up all debris from their activity when they left each day.

Our upstairs toilet overflowed late evening, water soaked the upstairs carpeting, and leaked through the floor, coming out of canned lights in the downstairs hall way below. We managed to shut off the water, dry up most of the mess, and telephoned a few companies 1st thing in the morning - around 9am. We reached McClincy's, and they had their water remediation specialist at our house by 9:20. They immediately tested to let us know where water had seeped, removed the counter top, toilet and flooring from our bathroom, set up equipment to dry out the water both upstairs and downstairs, in addition, the owner stopped by to review the damage, and let my husband and I know the necessary steps to clean up the damage. They worked directly with our insurance company as well. Once satisfied the water was removed, we worked with Randy to replace the flooring, a countertop and choose paint to repair the bathroom damage. In addition, because water had seeped through the downstairs ceiling, they replaced the canned lighting, removed and replaced the drywall, and repainted the entire downstairs great room, as it was all one color and open concept. They were professional and quick, the entire process took about 2-1/2 weeks, primarily because we opted to pay a bit more and upgrade the bath room flooring which had to be ordered. I would definitely use them again.

It was a horrible experience with this company.  They stopped work; they demanded payment from the insurance company, while we were stuck in a hotel. It was poor project management. I would say stay away from this company if you have water damage. Our piano was ruined because they didn’t professionally move/store it. While they were fixing things, they were breaking other things. They make you sign a contract prior and the fine print says if you cancel the project, you are liable for the whole thing so you are stuck with them through the entire project. The workers themselves were great; it was the project manager and the owner that were awful.

"Thank you homeowner for reading our company response. We were surprised by the member comments as the work was completed over a year ago. Most of our online reviews are always very positive; thanking us for a job well done. The owner has since reviewed our customer file with the following findings. During their restoration project we did our very best by extending them $20,000+ credit because the member’s insurance company had not processed any payments and worked very closely with Member and his wife to ensure that they were back in their home before we ever received payment from the member or from their insurance company for the restoration work we had performed. We worked hard to negotiate their claim to get them enough money to do their repairs; however in the end, certain items of theirs were not covered, nor would their insurance company authorize certain expenses. We were never compensated by them or their insurance company to move their contents back into their house, which we did, without incident. We always use professional moving companies to move and/or store special household items. Unfortunately, not till another member notified us of their review, did we know that their piano had been damaged. We immediately reached out to them to obtain resolution; the owner placed a phone call to the member’s home number and left a message; to date we have received no return phone call. If you are reading this we would like the opportunity to earn your business."

The entire restoration process went great. This is the second time we have used McClincy's for wood floor refinishing. Both times they have been prompt, professional and matched the flooring well. Great attention to detail down to getting all paint needed in case they needed to do retouching of any areas.

They worked with our insurance company and they were excellent. We wanted somebody that was close by and professional. I had a baby shower planned and they said they would get it done before the shower. They had it done the day before.

We are extremely pleased with the outcome of each project. This represents the fifth job we have completed with McClincy's over the past five years. The reason we keep coming back to McClincy's is based on several reasons beyond quality of work. McClincy's does what it says they are going to do, their workers are polite, clean-up and if anything isn't right they make it right. We have recommended McClincy's to several close friends and they have received the same excellent service and quality of work. What separates McClincy's from other home contractors is that they deliver a high quality of experience.

Our kitchen pipe broke on a Sunday afternoon, and they were out to inspect and start the drying process by Sunday evening. Very impressive given this was the Sunday after the Jan floods. They had the blowdryers in there Sunday evening. The recovery process takes several weeks. Joe, our primary worker for the job, was very good and very kind and considerate. The quality of the work was high. Communication on next steps throughout the project was sketchy. We would have to call a couple of times to find out what was going on and what would happen next. I chalk some of that up to they were very busy helping Jan flood victims. The office manager/accounts person was not good. She called two days after the project ended to find out why we were "late" in paying. Apparently, we were supposed to forward the insurance check as soon as we got it. No one bothered to tell us that. We were waiting for them to bill us. She was quite snippy with me. I had signed the final paperwork. My boyfriend's name is on the insurance policy and he was supposed to sign. Again, we didn't know that and made arrangements for him to sign when we were told. But she was rather rude to me on the phone. The quaility of the work was great and the workmen were super nice. But they need to improve their communication on the work's progress and how payment and paper signing should go.

I LEFT A KEY FOR THE WORKERS, THEY CAME FIRST WITH BLOWERS TO DRY THE WOOD FOR A FEW DAYS, THEN THEY CAME BACK TO RIP OUT AND REPLACE THE WOOD. THE WORK WAS WONDERFUL.
