I called for an estimate and Jack was over within a day. I was able to get scheduled in within a week and by the end of the week I had a beautifully painted office. The previous color was dark so the office needed 3 coats of paint. Andrej was my painter and he was very professional, informative and helpful. The edges were done beautifully. I couldn't be happier with the paint job. I will definitely call them back for any future painting needs, even the smallest job. No more procrastinating for me, they are able to do in one day what would have taken me a week to do and and I would not have done half as good a job. Thanks guys, you rock!!

I needed wallpaper removed in 2 rooms. This was wallpaper applied in the late 90s by a professional, completely strippable. I saw the deal for 8 hrs for $199, so I purchased it. The person that came out informed me about 10 min into the job that it might take more than 8 hrs so I had the choice of paying extra or having him stop. I asked him to stop after 8 hrs since I was certain he could easily get it done within that time. He came with a steamer which I later learned was not the correct way to remove newer wallpaper since it doesn't affect the glue like older wallpaper, and actually will end up damaging the walls. It can also take twice as long. I stayed in the other room while he did the work, assuming he knew what he was doing. Once he was done and ready to leave I saw the disaster that was left on my walls. I reminded him the deal was wallpaper removal and prep work for paint. He told me he was only there to remove the wallpaper and someone else would have to come and fix the walls, but he spent the entire 8 hours basically destroying my walls with this steamer, including damaging the walls in areas there was no wallpaper. I immediately called Jack to complain and he sent Audrey out, who gave me an estimate for $1,100 to fix my walls (and paint). After doing research and talking to other painting companies, I knew they messed up and I shouldn't have to pay for their poor job, so I called Jack again. This time he sent Nick out. Nick and I argued and at one point I told him we're done here and wanted him to leave. Eventually things calmed down and we negotiated a deal for $600 to fix and paint my walls. I was hesitant since I wasn't sure I could trust them to do a good job, but I also couldn't leave my walls looking like this or pay another contractor thousands to fix it. They came out to do the work and started to paint the powder room a teal color which was incorrect (not their fault), so we had to make a quick change (from teal to silver). When they were done I pointed out several sloppy areas where paint was uneven, on my trim, or just not painted. He fixed it and left. As he was leaving he mentioned he would fix something outside for me and quoted me a price. I called him the same day to accept his offer and he did not answer and never called me back. Weeks have since passed and everyday I see my bathroom and am disgusted with the sloppiness of the job. You can still see the teal paint near my trim, paint is on my tile, one corner is still severely damaged from the steamer, the corners and certain areas you can tell where it was painted with a roller versus a brush, something that could have easily been avoided if time and effort was taken into doing the job right the first time and caring about the quality. Since I've had other painters/wallpaper removal contractors come out and give estimates before and after their work, I am certain the work they performed was not done properly (wallpaper removal) and was not done with much care (painting). Since Nick did not return my call after the work was completed and tends to become agitated during confrontation/disputes, I feel it's best to avoid working with this company again. UPDATE TO COMPANY'S RESPONSE: I didn't want them to paint anything. I just wanted the wallpaper removed and I was going to paint the walls myself. THEY damaged my walls by using the incorrect wallpaper removal method for my type of wallpaper. THEY caused me to have to spend $600 when I should have spent nothing. I am actually out $600 because of their work, not ahead because I saved $500 ($1,100 bid to fix the damaged walls). There have been other complaints on AL about Nick yelling at customers yet they still have an A rating? How is that even possible? UPDATE 9-29-13: I contacted Jack, the owner, after months of frustration. He said Nick is no longer with the company and him and Audrey would come take a look. After looking at the 2 rooms, they agreed to make any necessary repairs and repaint to my satisfaction. On Friday, the job was completed. All I can say is THANK YOU for making this right.
Description of Work: Wallpaper removal in powder room and lower half of entryway/hall. The Angie's List deal was to remove wallpaper and prep walls for paint, up to 8 hours, for $199. I was not planning on having a professional paint my walls. Since their removal technique damaged my walls so severely, my walls had to be repaired and painted, which I had to pay for ($600.00 additional).

Response from Jack's Ever Green Painting
First of all the estimate for the repair and paint was $1100. We did it for half the cost ($600 at a loss) just to please the customer. Sometimes it will take up to two days to remove wallpaper as was the case last year in a small powder room in Woodinville which cost $640. When doing this work, we have found there is less damage when using a steamer as we don't need to use toxic chemicals nor do the scouring of the walls which then requires a skim coat of mud. I wonder why the client had us do more work, and then even requested that we give them a bid on exterior work if we were such a 'bad company'. We are choosing not to work with this client in the future.

Nick was very proactive in calling me to schedule my painting job and he was available when I called him for advice on what type of paint to buy. The day before my scheduled appointment Nick called to confirm that Andre would be arriving between 8 and 9AM. Andre arrived at 8:30AM and asked me what I wanted done. I explained to him the color I wanted for the accent wall and the other three walls. He brought in his drop cloths and supplies right away and started taping off the the baseboards on the floor, the top of the windows, and the top of the doors. He told me that he would be able to complete the job in 8 hours applying 2 coats of paint on the walls. He did an expert job at cutting around the windows, a fireplace vent and 2 beams on the ceiling. His painting lines were straight and precise. Once the job was completed he cleaned up everything and even vacuumed up my carpet. He did complete the job in the 8 hour timeframe even with the clean up. Overall I am very happy with the job and I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to my friends.

I bought a condo with old painted cabinets. I decided to repaint them and hire this company to save time. Their quote was reasonable when the sale person, Nick, said that they would sand and fill any gaps and dents in the cabinets. They had 2 persons working on it for less than 2 days. I must say I was not terribly impressed with the end result. There were flaws that they could have filled/patched. Nick claimed that they were not major gaps, but there was none to begin with. There were some paint runs and imperfections here and there. I could have done this myself with equal or better result. That said, they did okay work but don't expect like-new look for your cabinets. You can probably do as well as them yourself or just get new cabinets! In response to Jack's - "We even put new hardware on the cabinets at no extra charge." To clarify, I agreed to pay an extra $100 over estimate on the day of service when he offered to install new hinges. I had to purchase the replacement hinges from hardware store myself. I also put on new knobs and pulls myself. As for the 2 "full" days of work, the 2 workers were there no more than 6 hours each day. Nick never mentioned that the paint runs will remain, (I can't tell if they are old or new), all he said was they would be sanded and cracks filled and the cabinets would look like new during his sales pitch. He told me that spray painting would cost $2000 but I was only willing to go with brush painting to save cost. On the day of payment, he was busy touching up imperfections, including 4 flaws (but not all) that I pointed out. I have submitted a total of 6 reports on Angies List, including 4 A's, 1 B's and a C. I have dealt with many contractors and IMHO, Jack's job on the cabinets is at best a C. Perhaps their strength is in painting walls, but definitely not cabinets.

The client was told up front that to do a perfect job it would cost over $2000 with a minimum $1400 to make the cabinets look good. He said he wanted an OK job and only had $1000 to spend as this was a rental property. We even put new hardware on the cabinets at no extra charge. We did fill all the major cracks and gouges and when we were finished they looked very good. Couldn't get all the old paint runs out unless we removed all the old paint which would have cost even more. As it was we put in 2 full days with 2 skilled workers. We always try to give the client exactly what they want. I felt in this case that's what we did.

Purchased the big deal through Angie's List. Scheduled the work. The foreman showed up a little after the scheduled time and wasn't sure that we actually needed someone that day - we had said that we did. The foreman was able to have someone come by within about an hour and do the eight hours of work. Work was completed to satisfaction - given the time that was purchased, I would say this was a great job.

I had called and arranged a time for them to come over. The person was very pleasant and specified if I didn’t want more than one painter (which I didn’t) he would just send one. However, he kept mentioning the team would be out, which I continued to correct. Three workers actually showed up for the job, despite our agreement otherwise. I was on the phone with a client and advised them that I asked for 1 worker and they provided a crew of three. Nick, the manager, was actually going to leave me with the two workers, who I wasn’t sure was even familiar with painting. Nick told me he would not be treated this way, packed up his belongings, and left. I’m now pursuing a refund from Angie’s List.

I made a mistake and did not communicate to my gen. mgr. that the client only wanted one person. When he got there he said he would only leave one person to do the work. The mgr. always sets up the job and leaves. For future reference two people working 4 hours will get the job done sooner than one person. If the customer only wants one person on the job that is what we will provide. Our painters have at least 8 to 10 years of experience and can do most any job that is required. I'm sorry that we didn't have the opportunity to show this client what we can do. I talked to Angie's List and they happily refunded the money to this client.

Overall we were very pleased with Jack's Evergreen painting and would use them again without hesitation. In all honesty, it was not a completely smooth experience, but the quality of the job, except for one caveat, was excellent and we've had multiple positive comments including one from a builder. Also, these guys worked their butts off and were on time. I would recommend them to anyone. A quick version of the goods and bads - Make sure you communicate clearly with the job lead and that you check in with them before the job starts. We almost had a different color house because he thought he heard X when we said Y, and he didn't double check. Also, I would recommend getting an early start in the summer. Then you get their year around crew who are good, vs the temporary workers. Again, the guys were punctual, on time, cleaned up, were respectful.....all around good experience. The exterior of the house looks fantastic and we've had tons of compliments. The only caveat we had was when we extended the project to include sanding and re-staining our deck and doors. There was some staining on the doors that was not of high quality and some drips not cleaned up. No big deal. They worked really really hard to get the old stain off and prep the wood. But the final stain colors for the ceiling of the enclosed deck did not match the deck itself, neither of which matched the stairs leading up to it. They tried to fix it, but it dragged on to the point where we just wanted it to end. The ceiling and floor ended up being relatively close but the stairs never did and I ended up painting them myself to solve the problem. Again, they worked very hard, but ended the whole project on a down note. We never did have a final inspection. I think they just wanted our project done. Jack and team attempted to fix things, but left a lot of it up to the painters themselves. I think there could have been some better project leadership here.. But again, the quality of the work was great. If I paint my house again, I'm giving them my business.

Andrey from Jack's Ever Green Painting provided wall paper removal on 2 bathrooms. I likde the work he did so well that I hired him to repair the wall issues (owner had glued wall paper to dry wall), texture the walls and then paint the ceiling and walls of 3 bathrooms and master bedroom. Andres and the team were very professional, prompt, courteous and very maticulous in their work. They worked around my schedule and were very accomodating to the Holiday activities I had planned. When they were done they cleaned up everything, threw away all debris, wiped down the mirrors and floors and vacumed the areas they had walked and worked around. They communicated with me every step of the way so there were no surprises. They made it easy for me to choose the paint colors and gave good recommendations. I would highly recommend this company and especially working with Andres and the team. I am very happy with the outcome.

The guy’s name is Jack. I’m using the coupon for this service. So they are doing eight hours of wall paper removal for $199. I’m going to look at getting the painting done as well from them. I’m going to get a bid from them today and I really like them. So I would like to see what they come back with, as far as painting is concerned. Right now they’re only doing the wall paper removal. They are very conscientious and professional. They are very responsive. I will use their services again in the future.

Jacks Ever Green Painting did a great job on my house!! They painted the outsisde of my house; took wallpaper down in my kitchen and two bathrooms; and painted the inside of the entire main floor of my house, minus one room that didn't need it. I was looking for someone to paint the exterior of my house. I got three bids. Jack came in as the lowest bid. He was local and I liked what he had to say, so I chose him. They were almost done with the exterior painting when I received an Angie's List promotion for wall paper removal which I really needed. Much to my surprise and delight, it was for Jacks Ever Green Painting. The wall paper removal led to the interior painting. Nick did all the estimating and coordination. He kept in touch with me the whole time and made sure I was happy. He did a fantastic job. Virgil went above and beyond...going so far as fixing things he saw that needed to be fixed, even though they weren't part of the estimate. All the other guys were great. They were on time and hard working. Overall I'm very happy with the way my house looks, inside and out. I've gotten a ton of compliments. Now they're doing my downstairs bathroom. Stay tuned.....

Jack was punctual on our appointment and he looked at the whole house carefully and then gave me a very competitive quote with the agreement that Zero VOC paint from sherwin williams is used and no chemicals can be used when removing wallpapers since I have small kids a home. The wallpaper removal work turned out to be much more work but he didn't charge me more. Overall the work was nicely done. But there were some small issues left when the project was done like the towel bars were not put back properly, all the bulbs in masterbath got painted and I had to replace them. Jack came back later to fix some of them and I fixed the left. The project took a few days more but it was still within the hard deadline (my move-in date). Again overall I am satisfied with this project. I also asked Jack to do the exterior painting for me but he told me that it was actually not necessary since the current painting was in good shape and I appreciate his honesty.
Description of Work: I used Jack's ever green painting company for the whole house interior painting, wallpaper removal in 3 rooms and some millwork problems (like water damage). The color plan was done by a professional color designer. There are a total of 11 colors and the design has cost in mind.

Andrey Stepanchuck arrived on time and got straight to work on removing my wallpaper. He worked dilligently and finished the job beautifully. Andrey was able to remove all the wallpaper without damaging the sheetrock. He had warned me that some of the texture may come off, and luckily, very little was removed. I was impressed with him, not only for the work he performed, but for the person he is. I stayed in the room to learn how wallpaper was professionally removed, and he gave me pointers in case I ever wanted to to the job myself. It's a messy job that would require me to purchase steam equipment, so it may not be something that I want to tackle myself. As he worked, he told me a bit about himself and the company that employs him. It was such a breath of fresh air to hear him compliment his boss as an honorable man with great ethics. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

I had been wanting to have the wallpaper in my bathroom removed for a number of years but was overwhelmed by the prospect. When I say Angies List Big Deal offer from Jack's EverGreen Painting I jumped on it and am very glad that I did. I was contacted right away for an appointment and on the appointed day Daniel arrived ready to work. He proceeded to spend the next few hours removing that old peeling wallpaper in a hot stuffy steamy room. He was very nice, professional and did a great job. He was very respectful of my home and left the bathroom clean and ready to paint.

The estimator and job foreman, Andrey Stepanchuk, was on time, provided detailed and thorough communication about each step of the process and ensured that he and his crew performed exactly as described. The communication was thorough and timely, the price quoted was highly competitive, the work quality was excellent and the final price was exactly as quoted. The grounds were left so clean you would not know the house had just been painted; the crew left no evidence they had been here. The preparation was completed quickly in just 2 days and all residue was thoroughly cleaned up and removed as well as all materials and tools were removed. The painting of the body and the trim took less than 2 days and all residue was thoroughly cleaned up and removed as well as all materials and tools were removed. The paint job was done to perfection. There were no drips, no uneven painting areas, no overspray and the lines on the downspouts and trim areas were precise. I would rehire this company and especially Andrey Stepanchuk. I highly recommend this company.

Jack came out quickly when I called for an estimate. The estimate was significantly lower than others, he had a high Angie's List rating, good recommendations, and the work and guarantee was very similar to the other estimates, so I went with them. They did the work 2 or 3 weeks after I called to schedule. The crew was great and they kept me informed of their schedule and what would be done every day. They would come to me with any questions, even having me out to verify the colors when they first started. Cleanup was done well. The quality is excellent. I have some interior painting to do and will call them about doing that. The only problem was that there is one small siding board that has a crack and I spoke during the initial visit about having it replaced. This is noted on the estimate, but just as a general cost for repairs. On final inspection, I noticed that the replacement had not been done. The crew did not know about my request to replace the board, and would not have been the people to do that, so I imagine that this was just a communication issue. When I brought this up with Jack on his final visit we talked about what would have to be done to make the repair and I decided that it was too big of a hassle to do it after everything else was done, and will just leave it.

Jack is great and easy to work with as is his main painter, Nick. There was some miscommunication re: a bathroom that needing painting or not, but they offered to paint the inside of our front door instead. (Of course, I then forgot to remind the painter to get that done.) Also, there was some bleeding that came through the new coat of paint and Nick ended up having to put on an extra coat or two to make the area look nice, which went on without a hitch. The job looked amazing when they wrapped up and they did a thorough job of removing the inevitable smudges. They didn't do a particularly great job of putting the hardware back in place and we had to hunt for some pieces and buy some screws for some switch plates, and a few new switch plates as well, but out of everything that could have gone wrong we were extremely happy with the minimal time requirement and cost this incurred. Had they put everything back, I would have given them an 'A' in the quality category. That being said, we would definitely use the company again and highly recommend them to friends and family.
Description of Work: This company painted the (almost entire) interior of our 3,800 square foot home we were putting on the market.

Every aspect of this project , from the estimate, preparation, restoration, communication, deadlines, and painting, was performed to the highest standard. Bottom line, I would recommend Jack's Ever Green Painting without hesitation for larger commercial projects! Cordially, Jim Berk Resort Managerf
Description of Work: Jack's Ever Green Painting met or exceeded all of our expectations! The project was to paint the exterior of our commercial activity center. The building had not been painted in many years. The final results met or exceeded our expectations. From our first meeting with Jack the owner, to the final punch list, everybody we came in contact with was professional and knowledgable . This major painting and restoration project took a little over two weeks. The company was deligent and the workmenship was outstanding. They did an excellent job of communicating the progress of the project and met all deadlines.

The owner did not disclose he would not be performing the work or be onsite during the process. The person they sent over to clean the deck with a powerwasher stripped off sections of the original stain and returned and applied the wrong product 2 weeks later. They have offered not to charge but will not return to repair the damage. Deck looks horrible. Worker used one of the bathrooms and left it mess.

Response from Jack's Ever Green Painting
Homeowner: "Company was hired to stain a 700 sq.ft. deck and paint interior of home." Response: When we did the initial estimate, I told the homeowner that we would be able to do the deck and rails when some decent weather came. As soon as that happened, my assist. manager pressure washed the deck and railings. He also informed the homeowner at that time that when he got ready to do the staining, that he should connect with the original person who installed it as it was a special kind of wood. Homeowner agreed. He also agreed because of the late fall that the rails should be clear sealed so he could wait until summer to stain. On this basis, we agreed to do our best work given the circumstances. Painting of the interior was to be done at a later date. Homeowner: "The owner did not disclose he would not be performing the work or be onsite during the process." Response: Angie's List has all the information on our company including that I have been a painting contractor in this area for more than 20 years, and that we have several employees. I do bids on homes and commercial properties sometimes 3 - 5 per day. Any customer in reviewing our more than 100 'A' ratings would see that we have several employees doing the work. I speak freely about the quality of our workers and our management team. At no time did homeowner ask if I would be the individual personally staining his deck. I did tell him that I would be having my best people do the work...which was a fact. Homeowner: "The person they sent over to clean the deck with a powerwasher stripped off sections of the original stain and returned and applied the wrong product 2 weeks later." Response: The deck and rails were covered with heavy moss and mold, so it was not possible to see the accurate condition of the deck and rails including how much of the original stain actually remained, until after it was pressure washed, which we did on Oct. 4th. After the mold and moss were removed, the deck rails looked very weathered. We used a 40-degree tip to remove the mold which is a similar pressure to that of a garden hose, and one we are experienced in using because it purposely does not damage the wood or strip off existing stain. In short, the condition of the wood and uneven condition of the stain was caused by the heavy buildup of moss and mold...not the removal of same. The 'wrong product' was the product originally requested by the homeowner to clear seal the wood over the winter until it could be restained in the summer. There was no representation at any time by me or our managers that the homeowner was going to end up with the same result as if the wood was restained, and then clear sealed, and the homeowner indicated that he understood this before we began the work. Homeowner: "They have offered not to charge but will not return to repair the damage. Deck looks horrible." Response: Whether a job is $300 or $3000, our company continues to go out of our way to please customers, and our ratings illustrate this reputation over time. In this case, inspite of our going over the details of the job in a civil manner, the homeowner yelled curse words over the phone to our assist. manager, and then repeated the same behaviour with our general manager, Nick Inlow. When the homeowner spoke with me over the phone, I again went over with him the details of the job and his instructions set out above. I also told him I did not appreciate the manner in which he had spoken to my employees, repeatedly cursing. As a result, I suggested that he would do better to find someone else to do the work for him, and that I would send his deposit back promptly, which I did. Homeowner: "Worker used one of the bathrooms and left it mess." (a mess?) Response: Our employees are cautious and respectful when using the facilities in a home or building. I did check on this and the only employee who used the facility at the site did ask the homeowner in advance, to which he replied, sure, go ahead...no problem. The employee did flush and left the room in the same manner in which he found it."

great painters and great work. From Jack doing the estimate to Andrey discussing color selection to the finished job-everyone- especially painters Andrey, Danny and Cesar were professional, kind and considerate in all aspects of the job. Andrey was hesitant to paint the soffets white with the house body brown, but he did as we wanted and we are so happy with the results. We had a terrible experience when we had our house painted over a decade ago, and put off getting the house painted again because of that experience. People we've never met have stopped and told us how nice the house looks, we would hire Jacks Ever Green Painting again and would recommend them to anyone

Jack personally gave us the estimate in a timely fashion. The work was performed earlier than expected. The prep work took about three days and the painting follwed. The work was done quickly and professionally. The crew was accommodating and cleaned up when finished. We are very pleased with the result. We received a 5% discount for being an Angie's list customer. We plan to use this company again this fall for interior painting. The only negative was the absence of work over the weekend in order to work on another job that was somehow more important or urgent. This caused us to go through the weekend with the windows and doors covered and taped shut.
Description of Work: We have a large house (over 4000 sq. ft.) with two floors. Jack's Evergreen prepped and painted the entire outside including trim. We picked the colors and chose the quality of paint from their options.
