Jack's Ever Green Painting

Jack's Ever Green Painting provided excellent service throughout our project. We hired them to paint the exterior trim on our 4700 s.f. house as well finish a drywall repair my husband started and paint the patched areas. They were quick to supply a bid which wound up nearly identical to another highly rated painting contractor on Angie's List. We chose Jack's over the other as they had provided us with excellent service on a very small job request earlier in the year so we wanted to reward them the business as a thank you and because we were confident they would do a fine job. We were not disappointed and only had a couple of minor issues with the job. The first was a decision by one of the painters to dump clean up residue in a garden area and the other being some areas that needed touch up or tape removed. All were rectified quickly when shown to them and they were quite aplogetic. We would not hesitate to call on Jack's again for future work.

Hard working gentleman arrived on time, He removed wallpaper from the walls of one small bathroom and the ceiling wallpaper in another smaller bathroom. He was efficient, polite and not disruptive in any way. Clean up was great. Now I'm ready to paint. Will definitely consider Jack's for the job!

The overall experience was pretty good. Everything turned out as expected. They finished the job in a timely manner.

We had three rooms covered with wallpaper and two having 12 inch border wallpaper. The wall paper was removed from all of the rooms and cleaned within the time frame. We are very pleased with the results.

Previous owners glued wallpaper directly to unsealed drywall, making this a difficult job. It was completed within the allotted time frame, sanded and patched. Great job! Great Price!

Went great. This fellow worked very hard and certainly earned his money. Very polite and nonobtrusive. We definitely recommend him.

The task went well in the end. My only negative comment is that the painter arrived without the necessary rollers so about 90 minutes of our eight hour painting window was spent going to a paint store to get supplies. I expected them to arrive with the necessary supplies.

Jack's General Manager, Nick Inlow, came out to our house. Nick was great. He thoroughly explained all the options. There was no hard sell at all. These guys clearly have a lot of great experience. We took the option to delay the work a couple months to get a discount and ordered the higher grade paint. They showed up exactly when they told us they'd arrive and did a great job. There was a small bolt missing from my front porch light after the work. I called Nick to let him know and they replaced it the very next morning. This crew was great. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to a friend. As a data point, I rated the price a B because I'm just not accustomed to paying someone else to paint my house and I didn't get any comparative quotes (the price seemed a little high to me). This was the first time we've ever paid someone for a paint job so take it for what it's worth.

This went very well. Talkative and high quality. Great job. He finished some painting in my kitchen, another room and some touch up painting. Knowledgeable.

I purchased an Angie's List special for drywall & painting from Jack's Ever Green Painting. Unfortunately they had such a large response from their special that the time frame to begin the work was outside of when I needed it done. So I had to with another contractor. The representative from Jack's was very professional, and I understand that when they get too many work requests, it may take longer than normal to get to every job. Hopefully I will have a need for their services in the future and can redeem the special I purchased.

Prompt arrival, efficient work generally except ran out of texture material and had to go to Home Depot (or somewhere) and get more. Area was clean afterwards and the patch looked good.

Nick gve us a very clear & detailed bid, which we appreciated because it outlined every aspect of the work to be done & made it easy for us to review with the painter when he began. The cost was reasonable, & Nick let me save a little by picking up my own paint. Yair arrived promptly & worked quietly & efficiently in a difficult space, narrow, high-ceilinged & full of stairs. He was courteous & a pleasure to work with, even washing a window that is so high we have never been able to reach it safely. He was extremely neat; I don't think he spilled a drop of paint. A good job at a reasonable price. I recommend Jack's Evergreen Painting & would use them again.

Overall I would say that I was somewhat disappointed with their services, but not so much that I wouldn't try them again for another job. Pros: Easy to schedule - I had no problem getting an appointment (see below for a con), but they could only perform the work M - F 8AM - 5PM which I didn't have a huge issue with. Neutral: Work quality - The overall quality of the work was OK, but it's hard to let the plaster try and add a few needed coats of plaster to make everything smooth in a single 4 hour appointment. I ended up putting another couple coats of plaster on before I primed and painted the ceiling. Not a huge issue for me because the work was complicated enough that I probably couldn't have done it by myself but they should let you use a coupon over a few visits if needed. To be fair, I didn't ask them to come out again so not sure if they would have. Cons: Scheduling - I had some significant problems getting an appointment. I had no problem getting an appointment time, but after taking the morning off, the drive got lost and wouldn't be able to show up until later so I had to reschedule. After rescheduling, they did show up on time, but I wasn't thrilled having to taking an afternoon off. They were apologetic and it seemed like an honest mistake so I let it slide. Work performed - While the guy was doing the work he said that he didn't have the right sized drywall to do the work, which seemed odd because it was a fairly small patch (2' x 2') and drywall only comes in a few sizes. He had to run to the hardware store which took about 45 mins, but he said it wouldn't affect the 4 hours of work that I had purchased.

We needed the trim and sills on our new windows finished, so we contacted several local painters. The first reasonable quote came from Jack at Ever Green Painting. The company foreman, Virgil, came out and completed the work, which included staining and finishing on some windows and painting on others, in two days. Extremely knowledgeable, professional, and polite - we would be happy to work them again!

Called to schedule the service and talked with Nick and agreed to appointment at 10 am on the following Friday. Took the day off of work to be home for the service and nobody showed up. Called after one hour of waiting and got no answer so left message at both contact phone numbers. Finally received call back after 4 pm saying that they messed up and would send someone out the next day. They arrived on time the next day and completed the job using my materials. Individual was polite and professional and did an okay job. Some of the tape came loose shortly after, but not sure if that was from my materials or the application. Would probably not use again due to no-show.

It took them quite a while to respond after I emailed them for an appointment. They told me they book and they would get back with me in two months. I haven’t heard any update from them and decided to get a refund on this and get someone else to do the work.

I purchased a Big Deal from the company on 10/16/12 for up to 4 hours of drywall/plaster repair. There was confusion on the scheduling, because I got an email saying that it would be 2-3 weeks before they contacted me because of the volume of purchases of the deal. I emailed a few weeks later and didn't get a response. Then I got a message and returned their call the next day. I didn't hear back for a few more days. I called again and finally got someone. I finally got the work scheduled a couple weeks after that. The person who arrived evaluated the work and thoroughly explained the process and what it needed to repair it. He presented 2 options even though there was a better option that would show the patch less. He did evaluate another area that I was considering repairing in the master bath. He explained what it would take to re-do, gave me an estimate and offered to show me how to do it ourselves, which I appreciated. Before he started the work, I realized that the patch that I needed was going to be a small job and it almost didn't seem worth it that I hired them. I mentioned about the 4 hours from the Big Deal and he proceeded to tell me how they don't make any money on the work and it's really to just try to get potential work in the future. I asked him about painting in the room that was being repaired. He gave me some wonderful advise. I was thinking I'd be willing to hire them to do a little painting in that room. He said that it wouldn't be worth it to just paint the ceiling in the dining room. He said every business loses money on doing small jobs or that the business may have to charge more just to make it worth their while. He said that a minimum charge would be about $500. I knew that we weren't going to want to spend $500 on painting, so that kind of ended the discussion about potentially hiring them for additional work. He also emphasized that they were not a drywall company - they were a painting company. They are the ones that offered the Big Deal for drywall work, so I was a bit surprised by this. Because he only spent an hour or so patching the wall, he did spend a lot of time talking to me about how to do some do-it-yourself work and tips on how to do work ourselves. He recommended that it would probably be better to just do the work ourselves, since my husband is pretty handy. He did good work on the wall repair. I have no complaints about the work performed. But it was a less than satisfactory experience overall, between the delay in getting scheduled...difficulty getting scheduled, then not feeling like I got the full value of the deal, but then I felt like I was supposed to be plenty satisfied because it wasn't really worth their time anyway.

Nick called me from Jack's Ever Green Painting to set up an appointment. He showed up exactly when he said he would and he was wonderful. He repaired the walls and showed me how to do it myself if I ever needed to do it again in the future. I knew ahead of time that 4 hours wasn't enough to quite finish the job because of drying time but he showed me how to finish things up and even left me a couple of supplies to get it done. I did a little sanding the next day when things had had time to dry and my walls look great!

Dan showed up at the exact time. He did a terrific job. I never wanted to remove wallpaper again and Dan did a much better job than I ever could have. He brought all equipment needed, covered everything we left in the room and cleaned up afterwards. I was very pleased with the work done. the next Monday.
