This was a really good experience. Robert was very professional & clearly communicated to us both verbally on the day of the inspection and in his written report which was emailed the next day.
One reason we chose Homefront Inspection was because of the style and organization of the sample report. We very much appreciate that a list of repairs and things to watch is given at the beginning of the report. Next, photos and other details are given by type and area within the house. Finally, a list of annual, seasonal and monthly checks is given. As first-time home buyers, we know we have a lot to learn. We think this report is a great step in our education.
Robert's attention to detail impressed us, and we expect to refer back to our report and his website often in the coming months.
I hope it's a long time before we have to do another home inspection (!). But we would definitely use Homefront Inspections again & have no hesitation recommending this company to our friends.

Robert introduced himself to us and asked what concerns we had up front so he could ensure he covered those first. He completed the exterior inspection first. He completed the interior second. Basically he performed the typical home inspection. I liked how he was courteous of protecting the house by wearing footies when he was inside the home. Additionally he pointed out items during the walk-thru so that we were informed about what he was doing and kept us included in case we had specific questions.
At the end of the inspection, he explained the conditions in layman terms so we clear about the situation and our options.
Robert took photos and provided a written report to us and our realtor so that all parties are aware of the house conditions. Robert was very professional and patient when we asked questions. We liked his demeanor and jovial personality.

Excellent Service. We choose Homefront Inspection because of the high reviews and the thoroughness/ helpful layout of Robert's reports (visit Homefront's website for an example). In addition to pointing out issues he discovered, he answered questions about perceived issues and their severity. We found him to be very thorough, professional, and knowledgeable. We have a much better understanding of the condition of the house we are purchasing and are very pleased with the inspection. After living in the house for a few weeks, we've found several issues which, in our opinion, should have been noticed by a professional home inspector. Examples include: visible woodpeacker damage to the exterior of the home, visible wood bee damage to the exterior of the home, water damage to the stove pipe chimney inside the home, and damage to the windows in several places. While we understand that home inspectors cannot find absolutely everythin wrong with the home (eg we encountered substantial electrical problems, which are undetectable by a routine home inspection) we expected clearly visible defects to be discovered. As a result we have downgraded his quality and overall grade to a 'C'.

Robert arrived on time - before us - and ready to work. Robert started with the roof, chimney, exterior and the detached garage and worked down the list (above). He provided a verbal summary of his findings after each "section" of the home and answered our questions. He is knowledgeable about all the components of the home and was able to describe his findings in basic terms while giving us a sense of the seriousness of the issue. For many of the concerns, he described how the work would need to be done, but for the more serious electrical issues, including some potentially counterfeit/recalled electrical pieces and backwards electrical work, he recommended we bring in an electrician for a consult and estimate. He spent a total of 3.5 hours on our 1500 sq foot, early 1900's home. He was thorough! Not surprisingly, Robert's findings were extensive for this old home - he provided us a 31 page report with photos (emailed in less than 24 hours) and detailed descriptions of the work required. He also provided in the report a checklist of things to do and a maintenance schedule - as first time homeowners, we plan to keep this report handy and consult it for our home projects. This guy is an All Star! He's knowledgeable, professional and friendly. He was working for us and we feel he gave us great start and a direction for home improvements!
