On the very first appointment, they were a no call / no show. I had to call the estimator to reschedule. It took them several visits to correctly contain the initial leak. On several occasions, the people they sent asked us if we were going to do the work ourselves. Why in the world would we hire a contractor for an estimate for work we were going to do ourselves? After leaving a giant black tarp nailed to our roof (the damage from which is going to cost more than the initial repair would have) and our kitchen in complete disarray, they sent us an estimate that had nothing to do with our roof repair and completely dropped all contact.
I can not believe that this company is in business. I only gave them a 'C' grade in professionalism because a few of the handymen they sent out were in fact competent and polite. It was just the business that wasn't run very well.
UPDATE: After writing this review, contacting my insurance company and speaking with the owner of the company, they came out the next day to start work on the floor. The workers were super friendly and knew what they were doing. When the boards were removed, mold/mildew was found and they couldn't install the new flooring until that was taken care of. I called my insurance company and they called the contractor to come out and do an estimate. I called Evergreen and spoke to Scott who told me it may be today but could be tomorrow for them to do the estimate. Then, he asked if I could wait until after the holidays for the floors to be installed. There was an issue with the old floor not matching the new floor even though I was told it was an exact match. They are going to replace the entire downstairs now because of the mismatch. I told Scott that I'd rather it be done soon as Christmas is next week and walking around on subflooring is not ideal. My kids were getting splinters in their feet!
UPDATE 2: It is now Feb 1st. The damage was on Oct 26th. The work is still not complete. I wish I could upload pictures of what they did to my house. After the floors were finished, a guy came in to re-install the baseboards. It took him over 10 hours to do the worst job I have ever seen. He didn't repaint all of them - he said I could do that if I wanted to (even though they were getting paid for it), there was caulk on the walls, it wasn't smoothed out, caulk on the baseboards (like he wiped his fingers off on the baseboards), nails sticking out of the baseboards. On one wall, he ran out of the original baseboard so he got new stuff that didn't match. He just had it right next to the old stuff...even though it wasn't the same design or thickness. I complained about it and the company did come out and completely replace the baseboards. Of course they charged the insurance company for it, though. They ordered the wrong transition strips for the job, so I'm still waiting on that. In the meantime, though, they received a check and want me to sign it. I looked over the invoice and I see that they estimated my floor to cost $4.69 sqft. This was quite a surprise since the floor they put in cost $0.99 sqft. Now, I understand this includes installation. But should installation cost $2600? I also noticed they charged for $1780 worth of things they flat out didn't do (paint walls, replace baseboards in rooms they didn't go in, repaint door frames, etc).
This is downright fraudulent. The difference in the flooring has devalued my house price, my garage is a mess from the work they have done and not cleaned up, and I am just fed up with these people.
