It did not go well. Tom Banducci has one regular employee. This employee is not well skilled in any area, yet, Tom uses this employee as his finish carpenter, painter and general handyman. The quality of this employees work is very low. Tom does not visit the site regularly. He blames the customer for delays. He often complains about his personal life and uses his personal life as an excuse for delays. This man doesn’t know how to run a project, much less, a business. We regret working with him. We wasted a lot of time and money as a result of working with him. To top it all off his employee sloppily painted the trim after our brand new hardwood floors went in and left drips and drops of paint ALL OVER our brand new hardwood floors. Then, after telling us he was moving our kitchen island a couple feet at “no charge”, he charged us $2500 or 35 hours of work for a job that took less than one day. AND, our plumbing system makes terrible thumbing and squealing noises now. It never did before he touched our plumbing. I wonder how much it’s going to cost to fix our plumbing?

The only positive thing I can say is that the project came in on-budget. When the project started I was given an 8 week time line, in writing. It took 16 weeks. While I understand that unforeseen things happen during a remodel, doubling a time line seems excessive. And no, there were no surprise structural issues that slowed down the project. Hard surface flooring ran out not once but twice and had to be special ordered each time. Carpet in the master bedroom was also ordered short and the guest bedroom carpet was used in one of the master closets without my approval. While the carpet coordinates it certainly is not the same color. The guest bath enclosure is a nightmare as I am still finding caulk smeared on the marble and grout in the bathtub even though the tile guy came back once to clean up his mess. The grout in the master bath sink area is cracking already as is the caulk in the master bath enclosure. I would reach out to Banducci Construction to get these issues fixed however he did not respond to a cable installation issue that was discovered almost immediately so I doubt he will respond to these issues a month after final payment was made. The cabinetry was by far the biggest hold up. Measurements were taken on two different occasions before ordering the doors. Once installation started it was discovered that there were ?missing doors? and they need to be re-ordered. After the project was complete I discovered six, yes six, doors left behind that didn?t fit anywhere in the condo. So the doors were not missing they were simply ordered incorrectly the first time. I will hire a different contractor in the future.
Description of Work: Full Condo Remodel including kitchen, two baths, living room, dining room and two bedrooms.

(RED FLAGS: "Testimonials" on his company's website are outdated and after being in business since 1994, I would certainly expect more than just 2-3. AND I should have known not to trust someone who says "Yeah, I've got plenty of unfinished projects around my house that my wife keeps nagging me to finish". In my opinion, if you can't get it done on time at home, you probably won't get it finished on time on the job). On 6/19, Tom Banducci came to my house after I had initially called him four days prior about construction projects I needed completed (building a cover over an existing cement patio and rebuilding my front porch). He was recommended to me by the painting company I'm using to have my house painted and I had already met with several contractors and collected bids but told my painter I'd give Tom a call and consider meeting with him. The "SOW" he's referring to in his email is quite simple actually and required very little detail because the patio cover is a one-day project and I expect the contractor to provide ME with an SOW based on the work I'm requesting to have done -not the other way around. The one caveat I had was that I couldn't start the painting until the construction was complete (or at least the patio cover was done, which would only take 1-2 days to do). So I made it very clear to Tom before we met and during our meeting the timeframe I was on because if he wasn't able to start and finish the work within the next two weeks, then it was pointless to meet and waste each others time. During our meeting and after he saw what needed to be done, Tom said to me several times before he left my house "Well, I'm getting ready to go on vacation but I have my guys here who can do the work in my absence so me being gone shouldn't hold up progress". So that was an indication to me that Tom was going to be able to do the work within the timeframe for which I was requesting (provided his bid was reasonable). Before he left my house, we agreed that I would email him some photos of what I had in mind for the front porch remodel and he didn't indicate that he needed anything from me to create a bid for the patio cover. I sent those photos as promised the next day. In return, he was supposed to be sending ME sketches of the patio cover and porch designs and exactly one week later, I have not received ANYTHING from Tom - no designs, no bid, NOTHING. Well, nothing except the extremely rude and unprofessional email I received from him today.
Description of Work: Actually, it's what he did NOT do and why I'm writing this review. Here's Tom's email to me in response to the details of our interaction below: "With such short notice, and no written scope of work, I am not willing to be put on a deadline for the work. With the deadline you want to impose, you needed to start the process earlier, and have some written scope of work, especially if you want multiple bids from different contractors. In light of this, I am not interested in your project. Thank you for considering us, I am sorry we are not the right fit." This is not only shocking but rude and just simply appalling as Tom *clearly* forgot every part of our entire phone conversation and meeting. It's people like this who make people like me so cynical of hiring general contractors!!!!!

Tom has been very responsive and offered recommendations . Today his team started today and tore off the bad decking, prepared materials list and will be back out by Tuesday to start the work. Tom keeps me informed of the stages we will be going through and I expect we will be done by the end of the week. I will update this review as the project moves along. So far very pleased and recommend them.

It's been two months so far. The kitchen is still not put together. It's miserable living in such conditions, having to go out to eat or for a cup of coffee. Constantly having people in your house. waiting around for them to show up and then get a call in late afternoon that they will be there the next day. Just a big waste of time for the person overseeing the project!
Description of Work: The company was very lively at the start. Then excuses for not getting job finished. They did not supply appropriate samples, nor did they provide appropriate design for kitchen remodel approval. They have presented two bills which include work not yet performed. The bid on the kitchen remodel was approx. 45k. The work is about 3/4 done. They set a completion date at almost 2 weeks ago. They still have work to do, but have not confirmed pricing. To top it off, blame the homeowner for indecisiveness with design! Hello? Where were the proofs? The cabinets were not of the quality promised and many carpentry hours later to fix problem at homeowner expense. The contractor complains openly about other jobs to his employees which creates an atmosphere of contempt. The contractor has also complained of a woman in the house overseeing the project because she has a glass of wine, or beer in the late afternoons/early evenings while they are still working at the home after hours. They come in one day, leave for a couple days, come back again with partial parts, leave again and so on. It's been two months since they started. Still no hood on the stove top!
