Sound Door Services sold and installed a new door for our two-car garage. We got the estimate on a Saturday and the job was done by Tuesday. The new door works beautifully, especially considering that it's replacing an original door from the 60's, and we needed a special low-clearance garage door opener to fit in the confined space. The product and workmanship are both of high quality and the price was competitive with bids we received from Home Depot (Costco didn't even call us back.) I would recommend Sound Door to anyone who needs a garage door done right.

One of the tension springs finally snapped on my old wooden garage door, and I knew it would be cheaper in the long run to have a new door installed rather than try to replace the springs, rollers, tracks, etc. and limp along until I had to buy a new door anyway. After researching my options, I called Sound Door and spoke with Jon to receive an estimate. He was able to come out the same day and provided an estimate that was less than I was expecting, plus he offered an Angie's List discount. We discussed a couple of the options I was considering and worked out what would be best for my garage and set up the install for the following week. Jon called me the night before to let me know there might be an issue with his installer arriving in the morning; he believed it wouldn't be a problem but he wanted to notify me just in case. He called in the morning to let me know that the installer would be there an on-time, and sure enough - he came as expected. It only took about 1-2 hours to remove my old door and install the new one, and it looked amazing! I was able to keep my existing garage door opener and they connected it without any trouble. I was thrilled with the door and the install, and have only been even more satisfied with it ever since. I highly recommend Jon and Sound Door Services!

James arrived one week prior to take a look at our faulty garage door opener. After assessing it was a bad board in the unit, he suggest we go in for a Liftmaster unit with belt drive as it would be much more reliable and quieter than the one we had. He inspected the garage doors and also suggested (upon my mentioning that the doors were loud), that we replace the metal rolled with vinyl ones). He also mentioned about the Angie's list special prior to leaving. He also said the $95 trip charge would be waived since we would be having the unit replaced. James showed up promptly at the time set up and proceeded to replace the unit. He made sure everything was installed correctly, including the exterior keypad and showed me how the door and wireless remotes worked. He then proceeded to replace the metal rollers with vinyl ones. He said these have 10-ball bearings versus the 6 which one would get at a big box store. James was polite, courteous and quick and neat in his installation. He took away all the old parts and was quickly on his way. I was very pleased with the work James did and would highly recommend him and his company. I hope this new unit provides me with years of good service. Here's a breakdown of my purchase: (1) Liftmaster Garage door opener: $425. Angie's list customer get 10% off then applied to $425 (2) Two Angie's list $99 coupons for replacing the metal rollers with vinyl ones. These cover 10 rollers per door. Each of my doors had 12, so four extra rollers at $10/each Total invoice including tax: $661.43

Once we bought the deal, we called Sound Door to set up an appointment. The person we talked with was courteous and accommodating, considering they had to come out of the city to get to us. On the day of the appointment, the service man was punctual, pleasant, and friendly. The one hitch in the whole thing was that we had an old set of doors that were made by a company that used rollers that were proprietary to the company. The service man said they had tried to find these rollers on the market but had not been able to do so. Therefore he couldn't perform the job according to the terms of the deal. He was very apologetic about the whole thing, but what could we do? He was so nice he offered and performed a check of the doors and their alignment, and lubricated them, for no charge. We were able to call Angie's List and have the deal cancelled, and our money refunded. Should we decide in the future to get new doors, Sound Door will be at the top of our calling list. They were very nice to deal with.

I purchased a coupon through Angie's List the price of this job reflected about a 51% discount. The service was for a garage door reconditioning/quietening. The service tech arrived on time, he described the work he was going to perform. The work was performed as described, and was done efficiently and competently. The job took about 30 minutes over all.

I am happy with what was done... what more can I say.

Replaced the wheels on the garage door. Thought the deal was for something else or something a bit more but for what they did it was great. I think the deal needs to be better describe. The man was very nice and professional

They never showed up for the appointment. I called and left several messages and they never even called me back.

IT WAS A HAPPY EXPERIENCE. THE REPAIRMAN WAS ON TIME -- EARLY EVEN AND WAITING IN THE DRIVEWAY FOR ME TO GET HOME FOR OUR 11 AM APPOINTMENT. HE WENT AROUND HIS WORK MOST EFFICIENTLY, REPLACED THE ROLLERS AND EVEN COMPLEMENTED ME ON MY CHOICE OF OPENERS. AND HE WAS A NICE GUY, TOO. I WAS GLAD TO KNOW WHAT GOOD CONDITION IT STILL IS IN AS I CAN'T GET OUT OF MY GARAGE IF IT GOES KERFLOOEY ON ME. IT'S DOUBLE WIDE AND HAS NO HANDLE. I

The overall experience was perfect. I purchased the Angie's List offer on-line and then contacted Sound Door Services. They got back to me right away and we set a date for the service. They showed up when they said they would and performed all of the services in the offer. Afterwards, they explained what they did. It was nice that Angie's List takes care of the money exchange. The people from Sound Door Services were prompt, courteous and professional. Every step of the process worked exactly as it should. And a have a much quieter garage door!

After finding they were unable to perform the service, Sound Door contacted Angie's list to obtain a refund for me. Angie's list refused, and refused to refund their cut of the deal to Sound Door. Much to Sound Doors credit, they directly refunded the $99 I paid to Angie's list and took a loss on the transaction. Overall I would rate Sound Door as an "11 out of 10" - a VERY reputable company. On the other hand, I was very surprised and disappointed at Angie's list "take the money and run" attitude - I would rate them at a solid "0 out of 10".

I knew that I was going to need a new set of springs and came to found out that the plastic pulleys were living on borrowed time. The technician gave me the cost to replace them at the same time for the cost of the materials only as the labor was included in the ervice I had bought. There was no pressure to include it at the time, which was a pleasure, but I opted to include it. I am glad I did! The technician also went over some homeowner adjustments I could do to keep the doors in top operation. These guys will be doing my outbuilding when It is time!

Another happy customer! Tried to leave the house at 8:30 AM, garage door sounded "horrible" when it opened, and then wouldn't close. I could see 2 rollers out of the track and a twisted cable. Called Sound Garage Door Service. Said he'd send someone between 10-11 AM. Serviceman was here about 10:20. I needed several parts replaced; he showed me each one (worn rollers, stripped bearings, etc.) side by side with the replacement, explained why they should be replaced, quoted me the cost of each, and asked - on each part - if I wanted to replace them. The job was done in about 1 hour, and my door is working better than ever before. Couldn't be more satisfied with the service and results! Very professional, efficient, and helpful.

I called them at 4 pm and they were out by 6. They went above and beyond! My door kept going up and down and they fixed it and did a couple extra things for me that he didn't charge me for. He replaced the remote for me as well. The follow up the next day was very nice, and they made sure Dave did everything he could for me!

We are very satisfied with the service and would recommend to anyone.

Very well. He called when he was on his way. We didn't ask that he do this, but it was very nice because this is a rental unit for us and there is not someone at the location all the time. He arrived promptly when he said he would, he performed an assessment and answered all my questions. He then preformed the work in a timely manner and kept at it until my garage door was working the best it possibly can.

They were on time and did a great job.

My garage door had intermittently given me problems so I purchased the service with a coupon several months ago. But I didn't have the work done. So of course the garage door malfunctioned again. I called Sound Door Services on a Wednesday and even though their schedule was booked up they made time for me and were at my house by Friday. The technician arrived on time and completed the roller replacement and inspection promptly. All my questions were answered. I was very pleased with the service.

I write this second review to cancel the previous complaint I had made against this fine company. They performed the tune-up, showed us how to continue maintenance on our own, and gave us sound (!) advice for future needs that our door may have down the line. The door now runs more quietly and we know what to watch in the future. Missed connections earlier had kept the company and us from getting an appointment scheduled, but once we got that cleared up, everything proceeded beautifully. I will call this company again should the need arise.

The company came out to service our home the same day we called. They arrived on time and completed work in a timely manner. The torsion spring on our single car garage door broke and needed replacement. During service, repairman suggest replace our metal wheels wtih nylon ones since our original door wheels were at least 8 years old, and the bearings were wearing on a few. The cost was $10/wheel. After replacing the wheels the garage door noise when raising and lowering was virtually gone. The door operates great and it's so quiet, I can actually hear the motor on the opener itself. The work was completed in about 30 minutes.

He turned up on time. He was very professional and courteous. He just got on with the job, then made some helpful comments and suggestions and he was done. I was very impressed and would use them again.

The garage door opener would not lift the door, nor would it stop. One of the springs had broken and so the weight of the door stripped the opener's trolley. Rather than have me wait until the weekend to do the repairs, the technicians were willing to schedule after work outside their normal work hours. I chose to have the other spring replaced increasing my bill by $98 by choice. The bearings and drums were also bad. Rather than replacing the opener, the trolley was replaced for $74. The two were careful and made sure oil drippings, etc. were cleaned up. Total time for diagnosis and repair-- 45 minutes.
