The rep from Sound Door Services came by and looked at my garage door, assessed the operation and said that I didn't need the package that I had signed up for. He informed me of some work that should be done in the future, but wasn't critical at the time. He arranged for the fee for his visit to be refunded. I was very impressed with his honesty and integrity, and the fact that he didn't try to pressure me to do unnecessary work just to make a profit for his company.

This was an Angie's list special on replacing garage door rollers, at 99.00 per door. The job took about a half and hour for both doors, with little or no difference in performance or sound. Other minor problems were not addressed or said to require more extensive work. I've had good luck with Angie's List, but not with services, such as auto detailing. You barely get what you pay for, and feel that you've been had.

The garage door technician, Mr. Brace, arrived on time, and performed all the agreed-upon work efficiently and professionally. The garage door is close to silent when opening and closing, as opposed to its former noisy self. Plus, Mr. Brace checked out our electric door opener, pronounced it serviceable, but also gave us an idea of costs when it's time to replace it in a few years. One of the best aspects of this deal was establishing a reliable contact should we experience a problem with our garage door in the future. We would not hesitate to hire Sound Door Services again, based on our positive experience!

The spring that makes my garage door go up and down broke at 11:15 in the morning. I got on Angie's List and picked Sound Door since it offered an Angie's List discount and had all "A"s. I called John and he happened to have a guy in the area. Within 20 minutes James was at my door and had the springs replaced, rollers lubricated and he even changed the burned out light bulb in the opener. He was gone by 12:15. He was very professional, neat and personable. I would recommend this company and James to any of my friends or family if needed.

Called and left message on Thanksgiving Day. Surprised that the call was returned immediately even on a holiday. Set up the earliest appointment on Saturday. We were further (pleasantly) surprised that the owner (sorry, forgot your name) can make the call sooner - Friday morning. He arrived early, explained the problem, & replaced the springs quickly. We are back to normal with a working garage door.

See the services After the correct springs had been installed, Sound Door came out again and lubricated the door, but there was no need to install new rollers which came woth the "Big Deal" as that had already been done by GDS. The Sound Door technician apologized for not providing any significant work on the door. However, because of his interity and honesty, the correct springs were installed, I am now able to lift the door manually (which I could not do before) if necessary, No more screeching. So kudos to both Sound Door and GDS. thanks to all

As above, I had responded to an Angie's List promotional ad the was for "garage door inspection and tune-up". The ad had mentioned "adjust spring tension" as part of the tune up. Nothing was wrong with either door, except one door squeaked with opening and closing, the other door possibly had the wrong tension setting, but they both worked fine. I expected that one door would need lubricant sprayed into a particular space and the other door to have the tension reset. Hence I bought the tune-up coupon for both doors. When the workmen arrived, they informed me they would do a visual inspection of moving parts, spray a lubricant on bearings, and test the spring tension only. If I wanted one of the doors springs adjusted, that would be an additional $110.00. I mentioned to them that I thought the "tune-up" included adjust tension, but that wording was not on the printed coupon. As mentioned above, they sprayed each door's bearings, checked tensions, and handed me an estimate for replacement of many mechanical parts to fix the squeak. They estimated $700 - $800 before tax to fix the squeak. I had them go ahead and adjust the spring tension on one door and paid them the $110.00. Later that day, Jonathan from the company called me to "explain the confusion" that had occurred. The Angie's List ad, he said, was in error by stating that the adjustment of the door springs was included. Since it was in the ad I had responded to, he destroyed my payment check for the $110.00. I thought that demonstrated good integrity on his part. None-the-less, my experience with the workmen felt like "bait and switch". They were coming out to see what additional parts and labor they could bill (whether truly needed or not) on their visit. Yes, they found where the squeak was coming from. But I was left with the impression that the only way to fix the squeak was to have $700.00 worth of work done on parts that visually looked fine, but squeaked. I later squirted WD-40 into the squeak area and the door now operates fine with no squeak. ***UPDATE(11/23/2012) - Jonathan has called me back to discuss above review. This again demonstrated integrity to me and I would use them again because of his personal concern to improve his company's image and service. Overall grade change from a D to a B.

Arrived right on time, very professional and friendly tech. He replaced 8 rollers total on the garage door. Many of the big deals only offer 6 replacement rollers with an extra fee for additional rollers. Garage doors all have 8 or more on doors.Lubricated tracks, springs and cables. We just bought house and knew that sensors were not working. I asked for quote to check and fix if possible. I was told this is part of service. Sensors mounted were from another opener. Tech found sensors on top of GDO and also wired into system. The system obviously was not professionally installed. He removed old sensors and replaced them with new ones. System still didn't work. He rewired one sensor and now the garage door opener works like new. They will be my first call if anything goes wrong with my system.

could not have been any better...in fact....better than i ever could have imagined. we have been burned so many times, it was like i just could not believe how amazing this young man was at what he did and how nice and integral the company was to work with. i actually had to reschedule due to family situations...and the owner was more than accommodating. just an all around great business to have on your list of "you can always rely on" resources.

Extremely unsatisfied. 1. My door needs lubrication and tune up, spring is in good condition, however he suggested me to replace almost everything. 2. I have single car size doors, he recommend me to put 2 springs on each door, which is only seen on double doors, this is completely not necessary and waste of money 3. He told me my spring is broken, showing me that the spring doesn't support the door well when in the middle position, however this is just a tension adjustment thing, after adjust tension (later with another company, the spring supports door well) 4. He gave me a bill about $1200 for 2 doors, almost replacing everything 5. I refused the service and let him go, find another company and finished the tune up below $300, lubricating, replacing all rollers for 2 doors, spring tune up, now they work great. 6. I asked for refund from Angies List, however I wasted my time. Never do any service with Sound Garage Door, they are cheaters.

It went great. The gentleman showed up on time (called about 10 minutes before arrival) and was very professional and courteous. He explained how everything worked and said I was the perfect candidate for this particular Angie's List deal. He completed the work while explaining everything and was patient with the questions I had. Very prompt and precise service.

Sound Doors arrived on time and began work reconditioning my garage door. He didn't take long, maybe 45 minutes. I reviewed the work with him. He answered all my questions regarding the work he had performed and general maintenance. I found Sound Doors to be honest and professional. My garage door now runs smoothly and quietly. I would use them again.

Service technician was very knowlegeable and pointed out some potential issues during 1st call but did not pressure me to do anything. When came back to install new springs, they did work as proposed and at the price agreed on.
