It went very well. The night before the work was done, the garage door would not open. Even after business hours, someone answered at Sound Door Services and was able to schedule time first thing the next morning to diagnose and fix the garage door. The fellow who came was friendly and professional, provided an estimate of additional work I requested (the rollers), and completed the work quickly and with high quality.

I was very happy with the service provided by Sound Door. The young man who came out was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. He replaced rollers and aligned the garage door. A few weeks later the door was not closing properly so I called Sound Door. The man I talked to on the phone was hesitant to send someone out to look at the door but agreed.... The same young man came out; again he was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. He adjusted the door and I understand what they were telling me on the phone. Due to older wood door, I did have to compromise a small gap at bottom of door to correct latching/locking of door. Once I can afford new doors I will have Sound Door perform the work.

Chris called to say he was running early and if it was ok to arrive early, which worked out fine. He was professional and got right to work. He explained the work to be done and then finished. He then told us what to look out for in the future. I will call them again for future work.

The springs on the door broke late Friday afternoon called Sound Door they said they'd make it out first thing Saturday morning. Jon called around 8:30am on saturday arrived at 9. We discussed what was needed and price took about two hours to do and all went well. I would use Sound Door again without a thought.

It went well. I initally purchased a Big Deal and when the provider came out, he told me that I didn't need the work done. He issued me a credit for other work. I needed a garage door opener and they came out and applied my credit. They are very prompt and I am pleased with the work.

Technician arrived promptly. We quickly discussed the work he planned to perform. I then left him to his business and he was finished in less than 30 minutes. I was amazed at the difference in the operation of the garage door. The door was binding and not closing completely before, and it was now nearly silent in its operation. I would highly recommend this company if your garage door is not operating at its optimal level.

I could not have had a better experience. This was my first time using a "Big Deal". Since I have two doors, I bought two Deals. Sound called within a couple of days to schedule, due to the popularity of the Deal, had to schedule two weeks out, but that wasn't a problem. On the day of my appointment, James showed up exactly at the scheduled time. He went right to work, explained the challenges of getting my door(s) to close properly, then went to work fixing my 30 year old wood doors so they worked like new. He was even able to work around the car in garage with no problem. Replaced the rollers as advertised, though my garage door openers are so old and loud I can't truly appreciate how quiet the new rollers are. The entire process took him less than an hour, no attempts were made at any type of up sale; just a simple, "please give us a call when you decide to replace those old wood doors." he asked if he could place a 3"x3" (or so) sticker on one of the doors, and he was gone! Both doors now operate smoothly and close completely just like when they were new. I will definitely use Sound Door again!

Juan was on time, friendly, worked very fast and efficiently. He removed old door, hardware and installed everything new in five hours. He set out a little table in our garage and neatly put all his tools on top of it. He swept and cleaned the garage afterwards. He told me he's been installing the garage door for 16 years. My husband and I moved huge classic car and all kinds of junk we had in the garage as per estimator's request. Juan appreciated us cleaning the garage which made it easier for him to work. We received 5% discount ($82) which made about $100 cheaper than another estimate. The reason we went with this company was the good service feed back through Angie's list and we felt comfortable knowing we can depend on them if there's problem in a future. Even though company location is Renton, Juan came from Everett which made me feel better that he will be around here.

I bought Big Deal for a garage door tuneup, so I wasn't planning on spending anything more or perhaps just a little more. After he left, my bill was close to $800. I probably should just have had the technician do the tuneup that day, but I felt pressured so I authorized the work. Afterwards, I wished that I had thought about it more. Perhaps it would have been better to get a new door. The door was much quieter for a little while, but now it's back to the same as before. I take responsibility for authorizing the work.

Great service. I thought they were just going to 'tune' my doors so they didn't derail. In addition to 'tuning' the doors, they replaced all the metal rollers with plastic which are WAY more quiet. I would use again.

He arrived on time, completed the job in the time stated and then discussed options to ensure my garage door continued to work. The door and opener were installed in 1989. He recommended I not put any more money into the door and think about buying a new opener. There was no pressure to do anything immediatly he emailed me a quote for a new opener and said to call if I had any questions. I felt confident in his ability and I trusted him right away. When I put in a new opener and or door I will call Sound.

One of our giant springs on our garage door broke. I saw Sound Door Services advertised on Angie's List (they happened to be doing a Super Deal on ball bearings), and they had excellent reviews, so I called to ask if they'd give me some kind of Super Deal on my spring, rather than the ball bearings. They said no, but they were already running a special on broken springs at $150 (for one). I said I'd just spoken with another company who said that no company can just give you a price on springs, because every door is different and could require a different weight of spring. I asked Sound's opinion of this, and the guy said that for the vast majority of the doors they service, the $150 price does it. If youhave a large, metal or fancy wood door, then yes, it's likely it would need to be higher, he said. I still took the gamble that I could do better. I Googled and found another place (www.garagedoorrepairrentonwa.com). It should have been a red flag that I couldn't find that company on Yelp or Angie's List. But, I called and they said they could do a spring for $69.99 plus a $29.99 service call. I noted that springs vary, and asked if it was likely my spring would fall into the $69.99 range. The guy sounded in a hurry and said he couldn't get into those details; the guy on the ground would have to make that call once he was there. I set up a same day appointment. There was some miscommunication on exactly when the person would arrive, and then the person apparently got in a car accident on the way here, but didn't call me, so after much time had passed, I called and they gave me a new time (same day). The guy then arrived 30 minutes prior to that appointment. It was all just weird. Anyway, so now the guy is there, and starts the sales pitch about how you need a certain weight of spring, yadda yadda, and the $69 spring is just for single car lightweight garage doors, so my spring would be more like $150 JUST FOR THE SPRING. And then OH YEAH, there's a $100 INSTALLATION FEE that nobody mentioned until now. And of course, he goes on, if you replace just ONE spring, the other spring WILL break within 6 MONTHS, "I GUARANTEE IT." Great. So now he's convincing my husband that we need to pay $150 X 2 plus $100 (or maybe $100 x 2, I'm not sure) PLUS the $29.99 service call fee. So, at least $429.99 (2 springs) or $279.99 (one spring). And if we tell him to hit the road, we STILL have to pay the $29.99. I let him know I was very unhappy about the company not being up front about the installation fee. THANK GOODNESS FOR ANGIE'S LIST and that I'd done my homework, or we likely would've followed the guy like little puppies. Instead, I instantly said, "I have a vendor who can do the one spring for $150, and that even includes a whole-door tune-up." I was referring to Sound Door Services. Long story short, the guy kept pushing, and even called his boss to see what kind of "deal" he could work for us. I went back to my computer, checked the ad on Sound Door's website, which had small print that said YES, the $150 DOES INCLUDE all service/trip/etc. fees. Then I called Sound Door (for the 2nd time that day) and VERIFIED that YES, it's JUST $150 and that for my 2-car garage of boring wood, it would just be the $150 spring. The guy was professional, but noted that the company I had on my property was based out of San Diego and just has a slick, local-sounding website. I told him they were still there, but I was ready to kick them out and go with Sound Door. He kindly suggested I hang up and get rid of the guy and then call him back. I checked availability, and since it was now 6:30 p.m. on the Friday before Labor Day, Sound Door didn't have availability until Tuesday. I went back to kick the "garagedoorrepairrentonwa" guy off my property, and told him my intentions to go with Sound Door for $150, everything included (except tax, of course). Long story short, the guy weaseled down to $170 for everything (one spring) and since he was already there and could do it right then (and we would've had to pay $29.99 if we'd kicked him off our property without doing anything), we went ahead and used his services. When he told me he GUARANTEED my second spring would break within 6 months, though, I had to bite my tongue to keep from saying, "and I can GUARANTEE you I'll be calling Sound Door Services when that happens; not you guys." In the end, I was left VERY HAPPY to be an educated ANGIE'S LIST CUSTOMER. In this instance, Angie's list saved me at least $110!!

We placed an order with Angie's for big deal at the price of $99.99. They came and told us that our garage had two doors and big deal could cover only one door. In addition, big deal could cover only replace of limited numbers of rollers. Since we have two doors with with excessive numbers of rollers, we had to pay additional amount of $151.77. This resulted in payment of total $251.76(Big deal of $99.99 plus direct payment to the provider of $151.77). Big deal should have specified one door(not one garage) with a certain numbers of rollers. More detailed explanation of Big deal should have been made!

Very high quality work. Did not try to up sell. Will be using them again to replace garage door motors! Was on time and very pleasant. Efficient and performed work in a timely manner. Highly recommend!

Chris arrived and explained the problem I was having with my garage door. He fixed that and gave the system a through inspection as well as replacing the rollers.. He was courteous and professional. THe whole process from scheduling to the rapair want smoothly.

Reduce noise while open/close garage door

Spring broke on a Saturday and I had the luxury of not needing a repair immediately. Monday Morning called the vendor just after their open time and was promptly answered and a visit scheduled for that afternoon. FIrst visit: arrived on time, vendor examined broken spring and determined it was a custom size. Explained the situation and calculated what replacement spring would have to be and explained that he might be able to make something work from the truck but did not recommend that route. I agreed and he ordered the replacements and scheduled a follow-up. Also warned that there may be other parts needed once the work began. All appreciated and not unexpected on 40 year old equipment. Second visit: vendor called to say he could come earlier than scheduled which was fine. Arrived and started the replacement and explained each step and why it needed to be done. Changing the cable did prove a challenge due to the weight and age of the door, but he was ultimately successful. He took the time to show me the maintenance tasks I should do to maintain the door. He even left a not quite empty can of lubricant the allowed me to service the companion double door in the garage. This is a company I would recommend if you need work on a garage door and do not need emergency after hours service.
