I purchased the big deal for 2 doors($200.00). I knew extra rollers would be extra, but was surprised that I was charged 2 service charges when I agreed to additional work. That extra work was indeed necessary, but I did not expect the additional service charges. The work was well done and the doors are amazingly quiet. Just had a phone conversation with Jon about this report and have revised the price rating to a B. I do not want to suggest that the service charge was added in after the work was completed. It was explained by the technician before he started the work after completing the big deal work. Again, the work was excellent and I would use Sound again when I need garage door work.

The service person was polite and efficient. He replaced the drums, bearing brackets and torsion tube in addition to both springs. It was completed in less than 30 minutes.

The service person did not charge for the visit since they couldn't do anything with the old doors/parts, and provided estimates plus brochure for getting new doors. He also found a potential safety issue with the doors, which was good info.

They were very polite, pleasant, and worked quickly. There were two men that came out.

It went very smoothly. I called on Thursday morning, he was there on Friday morning, took less than two hours to make a non-functioning door completely functional. He was very professional, but also friendly. He answered all our questions fully and made the overall experience a pleasure.

Work was done quicker than expected with no problems or concerns and for the price quoted.

I took the $49.99 deal advertised for a "garage door tune-up". Once the contact was made, Jon was great to work with. He offered to schedule at my convenience. When he was unable to make the first appointment, he gave me plenty of notice, and rescheduled within a few days. He was very knowledgeable and identified a couple of problems with the opener and recommended replacing the rollers, which he did immediately. There were a couple of other things he could have done, but told me honestly that they were not absolutely necessary at this point. I am very satisfied with the work - the door is much quieter now, and I feel much safer. He left a sticker with his information, and I will call him if I ever have garage door needs in the future.

The sales person that came out initially to bid the job was excellent (Joel). The old door was broken and he was able to weld it for a tempory fix so we could get in and out of our garage (no charge!). Staff on the phone were great/informative, and the installer was efficient. All in all, a great experience and price.

Our house was built in 1962. The garage door is solidly constructed and VERY heavy, to the point that I cannot raise it manually, so it is essential that the automatic mechanism works properly. The motor was replaced at the end of 1999. We used an Angie's List Big Deal to have Sound Garage Door come out and do a garage door tune-up. The repairman first did the tune-up. In the process, he identified several parts that needed to be replaced, and a couple more that couldn't be evaluated until the others had been replaced. When I asked him what would happen if each part broke, he told me in a pleasant, straightforward manner. There was no hard sell at all. He said the repairs could be done later, with an additional service call and labor charge. I authorized the repairs, knowing the door hadn't been serviced in many years. In the midst of his work, a friend came over to pick up an old wood chipper we had in storage. She wheeled it out to her car, but neither she nor we had the right tools to disassemble the machine so it would fit in her car. The garage door repairman overheard us talking, and offered his tools. On top of that, he did the disassembly and loaded the machine in her trunk. This was all accomplished in just a few minutes, with no additional charge on the garage door repair. When he was finished, he told me he'd put his company's sticker next to the garage door controls, and said they answer their business line 24/7 with a real, live person, not a machine or answering service. This is a company we'll definitely call on again for garage door work! The door is a bit quieter than it had been, and I feel sure it will be functioning happily for years, now.

One of my garage doors had been making an ear-splitting grinding noise every time I used it, and the other door needed routine service. The technician from Sound Door Services was out-of-this-world fantastic! He showed me exactly what the problem was with the first door, and he basically rebuilt the motor within about 30 minutes. He found a potential problem with the second door and made some adjustments that will avoid an expensive repair down the line. Then he showed me exactly how to perform the required routine maintenance on my garage doors myself. In addition, he rectified some improper work that had been done by another garage door company less than a year ago. I couldn't be happier with my experience of Sound Door Services. As of today, they're my new garage door company!

The Technician, James was very polite and professional. He arrived on time and carefully checked the garage door mechanism, looking for wear and tear and rust. He lubricated and adjusted the appropriate parts. He checked my remote controls and found them in need of adjustment as well as a new battery. Once the batteries were replaced and the control adjusted, we were able to determine the controls still were not reliable; they would work every time. James thought I needed a new control. He did not have one on his truck, but his boss, in the other company truck, was close by, so James phoned him to come and bring a new remote control. James and his boss reprogrammed the new control and after testing it out, determined that the system for the remote control was faulty. They recommended that, since I do not use the system all that often and the wall switch still works well, I could wait until I am ready to replace the whole system to get it all to work properly.

I received a coupon from Angie's List for a garage door tune-up. One of my garage doors had a broken lift motor gears so I decided to have Sound Door fix the gears and tune-up my garage doors at the same time. I called them at 9AM. They had someone in the area and by 10AM the technician was on site. I explained that I was a do-it-yourselfer but that the fix looked complicated, required special tools and something I didn't feel comfortable undertaking. He said that it was very easy, no special tools necessary, and he would show me how to fix it. It turned out to be a simple process - a fixed door and a repair lesson at the same time. He adjusted all three garage doors for balance and oiled the rollers. He said that the third bay needed new rollers. This door was not motorized so I asked for an estimate to fix the rollers and add a door lift at the same time. The estimate was reasonable. I haven't gotten around to the third garage bay door yet but I need to replace a pair of rotting doors on an outdoor shed. I decided to replace them with a roll-up door. I priced doors on the internet and then called Sound Door. Their estimate, including installation, was cheaper than the best price I could find on the internet for just the door so it's a no brainer who is getting my business. I highly recommend this company.

I went to Angie's List and saw the ratings and read the reviews. They had really good reviews and they had a grade A. I would recommend them just because they were thorough in the finishing of the door. The gentleman who came and repaired the door explained everything thoroughly what we needed to do going forward to maintain the door so we wouldn't have any future problems. I would recommend them to anybody who is having a problem with their garage door or door to definitely call them because they really know what they are doing. The price was fair. It was a comparable price I found in the market.

They analyzed and then diagnosed the problem with our broken garage door. The door wouldn't close properly. They came out almost immediately when we called. Once the problem was determined, an estimate was provided and they came out a few days later to fix the garage door. The service was professional and prompt and within the estimated provided. We appreciated the attention to detail and testing to ensure quality.

These guys are the best! I called on a Monday and they were out that day to give me a free estimate. They told me my options - fix or replace the door - without selling me on the more expensive option. They were knowledgeable and courteous. Their bid was less than the other vendor I spoke with and way less than Home Depot. They made an appointment for the next day to install the door. There was a mix up with the ordering of the door and so they installed a more expensive door for the same price we had agreed upon. The connection of the existing garage door opener turned out to be more work than anticipated - they had to move the opener, and the lights. But they didn't charge me any extra. They called and told me what was going on, admitted they had made a mistake in ordering and told me they were giving me a better door at no extra charge. I came home to a lovely new garage door, everything cleaned up and working perfectly, in exactly the time frame they had promised. Everyone was very friendly and professional. I really recommend them!

They did fine. They came out in a hurry because the old garage door was damaged then put a new garage door up. They were the only ones that could do it in a day, everyone else said it would be a week. Last week I called them for some service and they were out the next day. Their price was competitive.

Arrived on time and gave me an assessment of what needed to be done. I knew the springs needed replacing, but as he pointed out, bearings needed replacing, too. Also pointed out what didn't need to be replaced. Replaced and adjusted everything that needed to be done, then adjusted the garage door opener (a freebie thrown in). Pleasant, efficient service. Will use them again if needed.

He was great. The person came right away and repaired it. He was very knowledgeable and did a very quick job. He cleaned up and lubricated the door. It looked like he had been doing this work for years.

At 1:30 p.m. I discovered that our garage door opener had been taken from our car overnight. I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep knowing that someone could open the door, so I hit Angie's List and Sound Doors was my first call, since they were the closest (although 2 cities away). One Joel took my call and said they could come that day, within a half hour another Joel called en route and was at my house within an hour of the initial call. Joel advised me on what to do to best configure my system, which had been set up by the previous owners. He changed the frequency of the opener so the old remote would be useless, provided a new remote, and on my request programmed my car's integrated opener as well. I was very pleased with the speedy, polite and professional service from Sound Doors. I will certainly use them again should any garage door issues occur.

The door wasn?t aligned properly. It had to be adjusted with the garage door opener. They did a good job and had charged me only one quarter of what another company had quoted. They were prompt, honest, and only did work that needed to be done. I would call them back for more work.

I called Joel at 10am on a Friday and he shared he would come by at the end of the day. He called and arrived at 5:30pm. Joel looked the door over and shared a few really good things. First that he thought the door was in good shape, the quality of the product was very good (he sells the same quality) and that based on how the builder installed it, there was no additional adjustments that were needed. He then stayed here for about 20 additional minutes telling me all the ways for me to maintain my door, where to lubricate it (including the springs and bearings on the sides that I would have missed). In the end, he shared that there was "no cost" for the visit. In reality he had helped me a lot and I tipped him $15. In exchange he gave me a bottle of lubricant. What a great experience. I will certainly be calling this company in the future if I need help with my garage door. It was nice to see he had my interest in helping and not trying to make a sale.

Very well. Vendor evaluated the situation, specified areas that might be difficult (the garage was not square), suggested solutions (how to keep it square), and offered to do these repairs. Before I got it squared it skewed and the door stuck - on a Sunday with my tennant's car inside - and the Vendor came and fixed it. At a price, but he was there when needed on a Sunday. I later had the garage squared and the door doesn't go all the way to the bottom, but I do not plan to get it adjusted as it works fine as is and closes most of the way.

Based on the reviews I called for an estimate mid-afternoon on Dec 27th & left a voice mail. Next morning I got a call and got an appt for an estimate later that day and when another appt fell through they called to see if I was available for an earlier visit. (Hurray!) He arrived, watched my garage door go up\down, tested it on 'manual' to verify and in a few minutes discussing options, I was comfortable that the repair of the 4 pulleys was all that was needed and they performed the worked right then and there. He showed me the difference between my original pulleys that were each moving independently side-to-side, causing the shimmy and the new ones. A quick check & lube of the 'axles' of each hinge and the center track of the door made my door the smoothest and quietest it has been since I bought my condo 7+ years ago. No hard sell to update\replace the opener assembly itself...I was impressed & pleased. I will absolutely recommend this company again!

The job went very well. An estimate was provided within one day and the door was installed the next. The estimator and the installers all arrived within the scheduled time. Everything appears to be working fine.

Excellent job! They were the lowest price of 3 bids by hundreds of dollars for the same door and opener. Additionally, they had my door installed in a week, whereas the other companies were telling me anywhere from 3-4 weeks. One company told me to go find the door I wanted and then call them to install. It is a simple basic white door; now how hard can that be? Sound Door Services did a great job and were friendly, on time, and I am very pleased with the result and the price.
