Perfectly! I contacted the company and was able to get an appointment for the same day, within a couple of hours! The gentleman that arrived (Andy) was very nice, pleasant and professional. He indicated to my friend (who was there because I had to be at work) that this is something he sees all the time. I have not complaints and will use the company in the future, ashould the need arise. Use them and you'll be as pleased as I am. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Description of Work: Had been having trouble with the garage door/remote for several weeks - remote would open the door, but would not close it. Turns out it was an issue that could have been avoided (by me!). This morning, I went to go to work and all of a sudden, the door stopped about a third of the way up and it was crooked - with my car still in the garage. Turns out there was something blocking the sensor that allowed the remote to function and a roller issue.

That was a really good experience. The man was really good. He explained the workings of my garage door, how to maintain it and care for it when he’s not there, gave me an overall rating on the condition of it, and replaced all the metal rollers with plastic rollers. I’m incredibly pleased at how that door rolls and how much more quiet it is. He was on time and got done quickly and he still instructed me.

He called me in the morning, showed up when he said he would. He was very pleasant. He came out and said he was unable to work on my garage door. The door is from the early 60's an apparently no one can service these any more. He was really nice and explained everything to me. But it sounds like my garage door was the issue. I would use him again in the future with a different garage door.

Andy was thorough in his explanation of what he had done and what his recommendation were for a more permanent fix on the door that we had previously damaged. He offered to make the call back to the manufacturer to se if we could purchase a new panel to replace the damaged one and get back to us tomorrow. It looks like the fix will be less than half the price of a new door.
Description of Work: We purchased the check up and roller replacement coupon and they sent Andy over to do the work. He completed the duties as per the offer and went the extra mile to diagnose a loud noise that we hear occasionally. We haven't been able to figure it out ourselves for years and he spotted the problem in minutes.

Went great from the time that Danny called to see if we could handle him coming early because of a cancellation to his quick handling of all of the maintenance and repair activities. This is the second time they have done a service for us and will not hesitate to call them back should the need arise.
Description of Work: Had purchased a daily deal for basic tune-up and roller replacement ($99 of the total spent). Danny, the technician, identified another issue with the end roller bearings going bad. He had the parts to replace which also required unwinding/rewinding the spring. All was done most efficiently and quickly. Total time was about an hour.

I paid for garage service on Angie Special Deal. I rec'd a call immediately and scheduled a service call on the following Sunday which was the next day! Chris T showed up early. My garage door was a mess - wouldn't close with out manual help - tracks out of alignment, wrong springs installed originally and VERY noisy. Chris spent 3 hours fixing - installed new rollers, tracks, springs, etc. He fixed the problems and now I can't hear the garage door open at all! Chris was very nice and did a great job. I am very satisfied and would definitly hire this company again.

I have been having issues with my garage door starting to close, then changing its mind. There was nothing obviously wrong, the eyes seemed to be aligned and the rails were right where they were supposed to be. The warranty service department for my new home has not been helpful on past issues and I was reluctant to get them involved for a problem I couldn't guarantee would present itself for their do-it-half-arsed-and-get-out-the-door contractor. I saw the big deal for "$99.95 for Garage Door Tune-up, Roller Replacement Plus a 25-Point Inspection" and decided to give it a go. I hoped that I could get an independent evaluation that would at least give me something to take to the warranty department. Dane called me and said he was running early, and asked if I was available for him to get started. He did the complete inspection, replaced the rollers, and was able to identify several problems. The big deal was just for the inspection and roller replacement so it did cost me an additional $100 to get everything fixed, but he was able to do it right then. I decided to just have him fix everything rather than deal with another poorly done job from the warranty department. Dane re-tensioned my spring, adjusted my safety eye, adjusted the limits, and adjusted my j-arm. He was knowledgeable and was able (and willing) to explain everything that was going on. My door is quieter and I am positive he has resolved my issues. He was thorough, and he was done in a very reasonable amount of time.
Description of Work: I purchased a "big deal" for a "Garage Door Tune-up, Roller Replacement Plus a 25-Point Inspection." When the inspection was complete I purchased additional service for spring re-tension, safety eye adjustment, limit adjustment, and j-arm adjustment.

Overall, Dave was quick to make the fixes to my door hardware. He explained that in the future, any repairs to the doors or the motors would not require any new hardware. The fixes that I did today would cover the hardware through the warranty. It's a great piece of mind. Also, Dave explained some other improvements that I may want next winter to save on energy costs but were not needed at this time. I'm happy that the service was done. The warranty is great and can be transferred if I sell my home in the next 10 years. I would refer this company.
Description of Work: I purchased a tune up coupon from Angie's List for two garage doors. I emailed the provider and they contacted me within the hour to set up an appointment. Dave was the tech who came out. He was an hour late but he called me 2 hours before to let me know he was behind schedule and offered me the chance to re-schedule if the timing was not okay with me. I still had him come out. He arrived at the new promised time. He was very professional. I told him about some of my concerns with the door openers. When I purchased the home about 9 months ago, I was told the springs were not safe. Dave confirmed and gave me a couple of options on what to do. One was an easy fix, and the second was an overhaul on the setup. The second option was a lot more expensive but the frequent repairs would equal as much over time. I went with the second option and he quoted me two hours. He was done before then.

We had been having problems with our garage door being noisy, scraping on a storage rack on the ceiling, and not closing on cold days, and we had been considering getting a new door and opener as a result. I decided to try a Garage Door tune-up first. The tech (ChrisT) was friendly, fast, and professional. He called ahead to let us know he was on his way, and arrived right on time. He replaced wheels, adjusted cables, adjusted/greased tracks, etc. and basically made our garage door function like it was new. I'm very impressed with the quality of service and would definitely use Precision Garage Door Service if we ever need work like this again.

I am moving into a new home with two single garage doors that would not open. The very charming Precision technician who came out took one look at them and told me all the hardware was bad and that they would never open with the springs and other hardware that were on them. He told me it would be $1700 to replace all the hardware. (This had nothing at all to do with the Stanley garage door openers themselves, which it turned out work just fine.) The technician (or should I say "salesman") then produced a catalog of new garage doors and told me that for the $1700 I could get brand new garage doors installed. So generous was he that he would throw in the remote controls at no extra cost. I am a widow with no one to consult about this, and he knew that I knew nothing about garage doors. He certainly took advantage of this. I also am on a limited budget, and was shocked at the $1700 price he told me it would cost just to get my garage doors to open. I said I'd think about it, and I paid him $55.75 for the service call. I then contacted another garage door company. Their technician came out, adjusted the springs and other mechanisms on the doors, and charged me $135.23. The doors work perfectly now. When I told this technician about Precision Garage Door's price, he was not at all surprised. He then told me about six other recent customers who had told him the exact same story: Precision's tech takes one look at the doors, declares the hardware all bad and unusable, and produces a brochure, telling the residents it is cheaper to buy all new garage doors than to replace the hardware on the ones they have. How shameful for Precision to be doing this, especially taking advantage of women alone, whom they figure won't know any better. How can these Precision salesmen sleep at night--doing this to people, especially people with limited incomes?

I bought their special for a garage door keypad on Angie's List. Within a couple of hours, someone called me from the company and asked if I had time later that afternoon for it to be installed. The technician, I want to say his name is Sean, arrived at the beginning of the estimated time window. He was very polite. I explained to him that I thought the garage door was noisy. He looked at the make and model and said that it might be a little noisy but he would look at it. On initial inspection, I think he thought there was little he could do. Instead, he found that the springs were not properly tensioned and that the bar that goes from the motor to the wall of the garage door was not properly screwed into a stud. Thus, every time the garage door opened and closed there was excessive shaking and excessive noise. The additional repairs were $49.95 plus tax and worth every penny. I would not hesitate to call them again for garage door repair or service.

It went fine. He did the job quickly. So far, no problems. I wasn't planning on spending so much money, but I believe it was reasonable considering the age of the house. Now I have more garage door openers than I know what to do with!
Description of Work: My garage door spring had broken several months ago and a garage door company came over and did a temporary fix, promising to come back the next week to repair it properly. They didn't return. I went on vacation in October and managed to lose my cell phone and my only garage door opener, so I signed up for the Big Deal which included a check up and installation of a door pad opener. When he checked everything out, he recommended replacing the spring, and rollers and the wires that pull the ends of the door open. My house is 18 years old, so that seemed reasonable. I also ordered two garage door openers. In addition, he set up the automatic garage door opener in the visor of the car.

Precision Garage Door was very responsive when I called them to schedule the appointment and they came out the following day. The technician called me when he was on his way to our house, and he arrived during the scheduled installation window. He installed the new keypad and got it functional very quickly. He gave a very thorough inspection of two of the three garage doors which had undergone spring replacements the following year by another company. He indicated that the wrong size spring had been used for the replacement and explained the downside of having the wrong spring. He gave us a quote for replacement, but we decided to not move forward with a replacement because the doors are operating fine at this time. If we need garage door repair in the future I would definitely call this company for the work. The technician appeared very knowledgeable and thorough.
Description of Work: We took advantage of an Angie's List deal of the day/week to get a new outdoor keypad installed for our garage door opener and it came with an inspection of two garage doors. We had an existing keypad that had not been working for a couple of years.

I had put off replacing the door because I just didn't have the cash -- quite an expense for me. But when Precision came to assess the problem, they suggested replacing just the bottom half, which cut the cost in half! They replaced the bottom two sections seamlessly, and now the door goes up and down without a hint of stress. It looks like there never was a problem at all, and once painted, it's as good as new. Service was punctual and efficient, and quite pleasant to work with these folks. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Precision came to examine my garage door, which I had backed my car into slightly a few years ago. The double-bay door increasingly was showing evidence of stress when being opened and closed, making noises and obviously having a hard time staying square.

This happened late Sunday afternoon. I called Precision, and was told the service call was $49.95 plus parts. But since I found them in the Yellow Pages there would be $10 off. When the technician arrived I explained the upper right corner of the door had dropped out of it's track, and at that point the garage door opener was keeping the door off the cars. He popped the wheel back into place then said the problem was caused by the door cable jumping off it's roller. That would cost me an additional $145 to fix. Since it was now later Sunday, and I couldn't have the garage left open overnight, I agreed. Ten minutes later, the job was done. Now, I have worked in industries where things are really dangerous, and I'm sure there was some tension on that cable. I'm also sure he knew exactly how to pop it back into place, but to charge the equivalent of $870 per hour? When I started looking for a replacement door, I did not look at Precision.

We appreciate this customers’ feedback. It’s how we work to continually improve. While, we are sorry this customer feels that paying for a professional repair cost too much… we disagree. A professional trained and certified technician was dispatched on Sunday to solve a problem the customer could not solve. The cost to fix the problem door was a discounted service fee and $145 to have an experienced professional redo the torsion system to release pressure, replace cables and re-set the system. Yes, this is a dangerous repair (over 30,000 people in up in hospitals every year attempting it themselves). In addition, the technician was on site evaluating the situation and making the repair for 45 minutes plus travel time. Trying to equate the cost to an hourly rate is faulty logic. If the technician was less experienced and spent 2 hours making the repair, the “cost per hour” would be lower but the installation would be the same. When we have the oil changed in our car, we pay a set amount regardless of how long they take to do the work. When a Dentist solves a problem we pay for the correction not how long it takes. The difference here is we don’t watch the clock on these…

I was called the same day I signed up for the ad. I got back with Precision Doors the next day (Friday) and they had appointments on Saturday. I scheduled for Saturday afternoon. The technician arrived promptly (with the confirmatory phone call in advance). Unfortunately my garage door was too old to work with the keyless entry as described. I was given three options (to include a refund of my $85.00). I chose the option that will give me the longest wear as well as allowing for upgrade to accept the keyless entry. I was extremely satisfied with the service, friendliness and professionalism.

Precision came promptly when called to give an estimate for replacing the two damaged panels. There was some delay in the process because the first milled panels sent to Precision from the manufacturer weren't acceptable. I appreciated Precision's quality control. The panels were primed to my specifications by Precision and I was given good instruction about applying paint. The installation was done well and professionally.

Great product, professional and timely service, which cost a lot more than I was lead to believe. Make quite sure you get a TOTAL quote in a straightforward and understandable format for everything to which you are agreeing.
Description of Work: Light was out in one side of my garage door opener. Technician stated it cost as much to fix it as replace it. He suggested I consider the new Jackshaft opener. I was impressed and ordered it installed. It was recommended that I also replace the center braking drums, cables and spring, so I ordered that as well. All work was done professionally and in a timely manner. I love the new opener as it is efficient and quiet. My problem is that the quote I was given for the opener and the separate spring/drums/cables work caused a great deal of confusion. I ended up paying $500.00 more than I thought I had agreed to pay.
