+ -1 moreDo not use this company. They only want to sell parts at extremely inflated prices.
Description of Work: The service man came out to repair my garage door which would not open. Shortly after he checked out the garage door, he said we needed new rollers, cables, and springs. We thought that would fix the problem and agreed to pay for the extremely pricey repairs. He put everything on and said they were guaranteed for life. One week later, my garage door did not work again. I called for service again and this time the same guy told me that my garage door opener needed to be replaced. I called his attention to the track which he had not bent back, so the door was hanging on the track. He told me the prices of his doors. I decided to check around and found that his prices were at least $100 more than the competitors for the same doors. When an honest door man came, he lubricated the track of the door and had it repaired within 10 minutes. He said he was not comfortable putting in a new opener as this one was still working nicely. He also was kind enough to tell me that the repairs which the first serviceman had completed were probably totally unnecessary. I will never use this company again. I have no idea how they were recommended for Angie's List.

+ -1 moreOur 15 year old garage door had the tension spring break yesterday. We called and scheduled an appointment and Craig arrived on time. He provided us with an estimate to simply place a new singe spring and gave us an estimate to provide an upgrade to double spring with upgraded new parts. His estimate for the single spring repair was consistent with other estimates that were provided. We fell for the sales pitch and went for the more expensive package that included a life time parts and labor warranty. He was on time, professional and did a quality job.

+ -1 moreI sent an e-mail to their website on New Year's Eve thinking they would probably not get back to me until after the holiday. Their office called me right away and said they could actually have someone come out that same day. They gave me a two-hour timeframe for arrival. The technician called when he was close and arrived even before the two-hour window, he performed all the checks and inspections, changed the rollers, and fixed the light very efficiently. It didn't take him very long, less than an hour. I was very happy with the service all around, from beginning to end. Quick response, professional service. I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: I purchased a garage door tuneup and roller replacement deal from AAA for $99. The light had been staying on 24/7 so I figured it would cost this much to get someone out to fix that anyway plus I would get a tuneup and check of the garage door operating system. The technician checked everything over, replaced the rollers and repaired the light.

+ -1 moreOur 19 year old garage door opener finally gave up the ghost. Precision was recommended to us by a family member. We spoke to their evening answering service, and was able to secure an appointment the next day at 8am. That's already amazing. The tech was on time, conversational, and professional. He showed us the combination of problems our garage door had that led to motor burnout - the door was unbalanced, putting undue strain on the motor, etc. We decided to have the door rebalanced, replace 40 year old original metal wheels with new synthetic wheels, install a new motor and two new springs. The tech presented a reasonable pros/cons of investing now, and made no hard sell. We're very pleased with the results - you can stand in the garage and barely hear the door operate now - really amazing. Highly recommend these folks.
Description of Work: Replace garage door opener, replace two springs, replace original metal wheels with synthetic (plastic) wheels, rebalance garage door, restring cables on both sides of door.

+ -1 moreI was very impressed with Precision Garage Door Service. Not only were they there to take my call on a Saturday evening, they showed up Sunday morning (!) - just when they said they would. The technician was friendly, professional, and did a great job fixing the door. He also lub'd all parts (not part of the original job), which quieted the operation of the door by about 75%. Big difference in before/after. Finally, he showed me how to maintain the door over time. Bottom line, these guys are great. I strongly recommend them.
Description of Work: Someone [who shall not be named, it wasn't me :-) ] backed into the door on their way out of the garage yesterday evening. The door was inoperable after that. I called 2-3 vendors, including Precision, who was there to answer the phone on a Saturday evening. They showed up the next day, got the door working again in about 45 minutes. Great job.

+ -1 moreNate explained exactly what the safety issues were with the rollers and explained what the alternatives were. He clearly laid out what the expenses would be and even provided a discount. He was very professional, thorough and quick with the work. I would highly suggest going with this company for any garage door work.
Description of Work: They did a safety inspection and installed a wireless keypad. After the inspection, we agreed for them to replace the rollers which had some sever safety issues.

+ -1 moreI've had problems with a door that did not want to close, depending on weather, for several years so that was my original problem to be fixed. The Precision Door tech showed me the wear on my old door tracks and springs, and unsafe repairs made years ago with family assistance, and I chose an upgrade to a style of spring-system that I feel safer with. The spring mechanism is now mounted horizontally over the door, and will only hit walls if broken, as they sometimes do break, He also replaced all the original rollers and adjusted the door so it moves almost silently. When it's time to replace the garage door opener, I will certainly use Precision again. Very happy with the quality of work and the efficient and pleasant tech. No hard sell for the upgrade, arrived on schedule and worked quickly. A little more than I had intended to spend but very happy with results and the lifetime warranty.
Description of Work: Originally purchased the Angie's List garage-door tune-up for my 25-yr old single, wood door. Ended with a full replacement of springs, cables and style of door lift.

In the beginning it was rocky because the salesperson that initally came out was less than professional. However, he became unemployed during this process, and then everything went well. They worked with us, and resolved our issues in a timely manner, and was professional. We have had them return and tweek our doors for better insulation and sound. They are prompt and helpful. We are satisfied.

+ -1 moreRepaired the wooden garage door itself, put it back on the tracks, secured the springs to the door frame with bigger screws, evaluated the opener - turned out the opener motor had burned out, so the repairman installed a new opener for us. Repairman arrived exactly at the designated time and was very knowledgeable and professional. He clearly knew what he was doing. We will definitely call this company again if we ever need to.

I got the sense that he wanted to sell something instead of repair something that could be repaired. The technician might’ve been right, but I would like to get a second opinion first.
Description of Work: It had been a long time since our garage door had been looked at by a service, so it’s a bit noisy when the door is moving up and down. I thought a tune-up and replacing some parts (for example, the wheels) would fix the problem.

However, the opener that they installed only works for one door. We did not realize this until the technician had left. The technician that came out did a decent job, but the equipment that was installed didn’t meet our needs.

+ -1 moreThe service was great and the service gentleman made me aware of a few other things that needed to be replaced. He was very thorough and knowledgeable. He replaced the cables, which was part of the deal. He also wrote a quote to have my springs replaced along with a few other small things. The price he quoted me was outrageous and that is without any previous experience in dealing with costs for my garage door. I had a second company come in and provide a quote for the same parts/labor etc, and it was SUBSTANTIALLY less, and came with the same warranties etc. It was a great company, too pricey for my taste!

+ -1 morecalled this company for appointment. came and was prompt. told him re: report. told me it was not a loose wire. worked on the runners for smooth rolling. needed remote--told me the price. approx. $30 more than if i purchased at box store but since i did not know how to program one, i said yes to the purchase of his. when he handed it to me, told me to press only #1--#2 was for the second garage door --I ONLY HAD A SINGLE GARAGE. Then he told me that i needed soon: new all most everything totaling over $800. I did not like the push he gave me. I will not use them again if i need garage door work.

+ -1 moreChris, the Precision Door Specialist arrived 35 minutes early after asking me if he could arrive early. Was very efficient and knowledgeable as he went through the inspection process. He discuss the items and gave me a garage door 101 course on the operation of the door and the most common problems. He also gave me instruction on preventative maintenance to lengthen the life of the rollers, belt mechanism and door parts. Overall an excellent technician who enjoyed his work and explaining details to an ignorant homeowner. I would certainly recommend the company to other homeowners.
Description of Work: Replacement of rollers with nylon rollers by AAA coupon. Inspected door, panels, balance, adjusted the springs, and serviced hinges. Adjusted door travel.

The tech was very polite and likable, he would have been welcome to stay for dinner had he not had other plans.
