They came out and gave me the Angie's List discount, which was excellent. They did the job but their follow up was a little slow

On December 26, 2014, someone pushed our truck into our garage door, which collapsed on our car, etc. which was inside the garage. The door was destroyed. We first contacted the company which sold us the door. Because it was the day after Christmas, they didn't get back to us until the next week, after they had indicated they would contact us sooner. Anyway, by the next week, we were frustrated, and found Precision on Angie's List. When the original company finally called, we said "never mind." Precision came out that day and gave us an estimate. Unfortunately, the garage door we wanted was a six-week wait. That answer wouldn't work for everyone, in every neighborhood, but it was okay with us. We boarded up the garage. A new door and opener was installed on February 5, 2015. It looks great, although I must say that our 25 year old Craftsman chain-drive opener was more sensitive than the modern belt-driven opener that was installed. 3/20/15. Nate and Cody adjusted the antenna and sensitivity on the opener, so that he door opens easily from down the street. They also programmed a button in my car, that I didn't know existed, to operate the door. Kudos!

Work was done well, but I feel like I was duped into buying stuff I didn't really need and was overcharged for what I got. 2nd service call was priced higher than what I was quoted but I wasn't there so my fiancee paid up without knowing. Would not recommend them and won't use them in the future.

Great experience! They were honest and fair priced. They did exactly what was needed and no more than necessary. Some companies can take advantage of a situation and take things apart to create more work, but they did not.

One of our garage door openers wouldn't function correctly during a cold spell. I turned up the adjustment to give the opener more power, which worked for a few weeks. Then the opener completely failed, stripping the gears. It turned out that one of the springs (both original ones - from 1991) had failed, causing undue strain on the opener. Mike (and his trainee, David) came out the same day I called (01/21) and assessed the problem quickly. They gave me three different options based upon how much equipment that I wanted to have replaced. I chose the middle option, as it would fix the problem along with upgrading some of the original parts. I didn't choose the "best" (most expensive) package because I'm looking to probably replace the the entire set of both garage doors/openers in the next couple of years. They had to order the parts and said that they could come out the next day to do the replacements. Next day didn't work for me, so I had them come out on Friday, the 23rd. They arrived right on time and did all the work in about 40 minutes. The option I chose also came with a 1-year warranty on parts and labor. As an added note, I had used Precision back in 2003 to fix my other garage door. I have not had any problem with that door ever since. They were very professional and never tried to "push" more expensive options on me. My overall experience with them was very positive and I would definitely recommend them to others.

Price was the issue. The price was well over twice that of the other two bids. The other two bids were close and one performed the work and did a great job.

Excellant service and very professional and courteous install. On the scheduled install date they didn't have the doors we ordered in stock, and in a call to the manager they agreed to upgrade to a higher cost door that they had in stock at no additional cost to us. Very happy with the new doors.

It went perfect. I liked their price and timeliness. They have great prices. There was one person who worked on the door.

My experience with Precision Door Service was excellent - I called in the morning and had a service technician at my home in 2 hours (it was not an emergency call, just fixing and servicing). Chris was fantastic - he called to let me know he was en route to my house, he arrived when he said he would and was very friendly and professional. He assessed my broken garage door situation, gave me options and consulted without doing a hard sale on my choices. Chris fixed everything quickly, explained what he did and had me test everything out before he left. Quite honestly, I don't have a sense of what service/maintenance costs comparatively but I don't feel like I was over charged for the service (or the guarantee on the work) provided.

Great experience. The door broke as I pulled in the garage at about 1:30 this afternoon. I messed around with it for a little while, then went to Angie's List and found Precision Door Service. I called them at 2:45 pm and they asked if it would be OK if the tech arrived between 4 and 6 today. I honestly thought they were joking. I had visions of not being able to get to work on Monday because the garage door was still broke and repairs wouldn't be scheduled until later on Monday or later. Yes, 4-6 pm arrival would be great. Brian, the tech called at 5, arrived at 5:30, and was finished before 7 pm. That's pretty awesome. Brian was great, very professional. I asked him about the work and he took his time and explained everything to me. I just looked up garage door repair pricing on HomeAdvisor.com and the average cost of garage door repairs is $361 in my area. So $363 (including Angie's List coupon and taxes) is right there. For this level of service, responsiveness, and professionalism, that's a great price. I recommend them very highly.

We have a full Precision Door System which comes with a warranty. The company also boasts 24/7 service for emergencies. We had an emergency, not an inconvenience, when the spring broke. I called the toll free number at 8:30 pm to a call center which was located on the East Coast. They were not helpful and said they had no one scheduled that evening for service calls. When I protested and asked him to send the manager a very specific message he did. Not more than 20 minutes later, Nick the manager, called to let me know he would have a technician at my place before midnight. It was almost 11 pm when Nate called to let me know he was about 10 minutes out. When he arrived he was polite, professional and fixed the spring quickly and did his best to be quite given the time of night. Even though the call center did not do a good job of representing the local Precision Door team, Nick and Nate reminded us why we were glad to have purchased the warranty and do business with Precision.

We had very good experience with this company. They came as soon as possible and the technician who came to fix our garage was very good. I highly recommend this company. They can come anytime.

First, I told me the warranty was for life. Since they have the springs made just for this company.Then he quoted higher than on the phone and gave me three bids. One to get done what I needed. Second to get done about 75% more than asked. Third to get done more than double what I ask them to do. When I ask the tech if they always find more that they try to have done. He said yes. Only twice did they not find more. He said all the door companies do that. I have had the spring replaced before and that was not my experience. That was just the beginning. The Tech broke my antique mirror while repairing the spring. Then he put on the wrong springs. Then he checked in his truck to find he did not stock his truck even though the person I placed the service call with stated they will have all the springs with them to complete the job. He had to stop the job and go back to the office for the other spring. While he was putting in the second springs, I mentioned the warranty. HE SAID BECAUSE I DID NOT GET ALL THE WORK HE RECOMMENDED DONE. THEY WOULD ONLY WARRANTY FOR 90 days.He did offer me $100 off the bill for the mirror or to try to replace the mirror somehow. I was afraid to allow him to do this give my above experience. THIS WAS A HORRID EXPERIENCE AND A BAIT AND SWITCH. Do not be held hostage like I was, go to a different company.

I backed my car in to my garage door. The door was off the hinge and would not operate. I called Precision and they had someone out the same day. I thought I would have to replace the garage door. The service technician was friendly and helpful. He gave me options for fixing the existing door or replacing. I chose to fix the door and he was able to do the work the same night. The technician was running a little late but he called to let me know when he would arrive and it worked out fine. Overall a great experience.

Both times we called, we were impressed by the prompt professional service. I could not be happier with the service. Highly recommended.

They worked fine. They did a good job. The cost was a little more than we hoped for; we had hoped for a little under $1,000. It was 2 doors and they had to do a machine for each door. It was not what the original estimate called for so they added $400 for the other machine to handle the other door. They were very careful about anticipation to make sure they knew what the job was. They sent somebody who measured carefully. They were very careful about the installation date so there were no surprises. They did more follow up than any company that I've worked with. They called 2 or 3 times to make sure that things were working right. One door was scratched, but not substantially, in the process of shipping from somewhere in the Carolinas to Seattle. It was installed by their installation guy. They came over to check on his work and found it and said that it was not acceptable. On their initiative, they replaced that door which was impressive.

Great service! I was able to get a same-day appointment. Ryan was on-time, called on his way and was very professional and friendly. He got the job done efficiently and gave me some pointers on how to keep my garage doors in good shape and avoid expensive problems down the line.

The estimate went fine; they did not try to oversell. I received a follow-up call from Precision about the Sales service (not really my main concern when hiring a company). I paid half the price of two garage doors upfront and doors were ordered. We set up an install date, several weeks out. The next day something came up on my calendar, and I called back and changed the install date to one day later (still several weeks out). The day before the original install date, Precision called to confirm the ORIGINAL date. I told them that was not date on my schedule and they somehow adjusted their installers to have someone available on the new date. However the person they sent was newbie who did not know how to do the job properly and efficiently, and did not have proper materials on truck. I?d been told to allow 4 hours. After 7 hours, job was still not complete. Technician returned the next day to finish. When I inspected, weather-stripping was not properly installed. I called to alert Precision, and they sent someone to redo the weather stripping; he also fixed other issues that I didn?t know about. I believe there was another survey call asking about install, when I reported these issues to the company. In the end, I think the job was properly done - doors have been working fine - but training was inadequate and scheduling problematic.

Went extremely well. Nate was very professional and very friendly. There was some miscommunication regarding the price.. My wife was told by the call center in Florida that the trip charge was $49.95 plus labor & parts. It turned out that there was an $89.95 minimum labor charge in addition to the trip charge and parts. We were ok with that as we needed it fixed right away. I have now discovered that there was a 15% discount available if I had looked at Angie's List first. My bad.

Very quick service. The technician took the time to explain the cost and repair needed. Also showed me how to know if a spring is getting weak. Showed me the difference between the spring he was replacing and the current broken one which was a joke. Gave me a discounf because ov Angies List, saved about $200.

We are very happy with the work completed. The Technician installed the Keypad and also performed a tune up of our garage door opener. He was prompt in his arrival, he cleaned up after himself and did a thorough job of evaluating the garage door and performing the tuneup. We would definitely recommend them again. We have used them in the past for other garage door tune ups.

They were very prompt and called prior to arrival. I was shown several options from minimal fix to replacement of the entire door. We selected something in between and were given a good price and Angie's List discounts, but they forgot the AAA discount. Very knowledgeable, professional, worked hard and fast, and they have a good warranty. I would use them again.

Great service, on time and professional. Nate and Ryan did an awesome job explaining all the details involved in doing the 'overhaul' on the garage door as well as other less comprehensive repair options. We decided to go for the overhaul. Overall we were very happy with the quality of the service performed.

The "technician" had a list of items that he contended needed replacement (although garage door is only 4 years old and installed by reputable company). Everything from the hinge arms to the safety cables, pulleys, forks, etc., etc., etc. Total $795.75 bid. He did not fix the intermittent closing, which turned out to be a sensor misalignment. I purchased an Angies List "tuneup" for $100 from another vendor. They came out, inspected, replaced rollers, lubed the appropriate areas, and told us the sensors were out of alignment, so they adjusted them. If Precision Door Service had just fixed the sensor alignment during the service call, I'd have my door working. I will steer away from Precision Door in the future. Not a good experience. Happily, it was only $55 and not the $795 they were angling to get.
