Precision Garage Door of Seattle is the best choice if you are looking for garage door repair, maintenance, replacement and installation in the greater Seattle area. Our vast experience sets us apart from other competitors. Our experienced garage door specialists and our approach to finding and treating the cause of the problem is why we are the trusted name for garage doors in Seattle.
Our garage door broke on a Saturday night, the latch that connects the cable to the door snapped off, so we called on Sunday morning and Precision was able to come out that day. Glen Rossi came out, gave us three options on the fix it (a good/better/best) which we appreciated, and the prices ranged from approximately $150-$700. The door was the original on the house so it was over ten years old and the coil looked like while it could go a little longer but was wearing out, so we opted for the overhaul, which was to get the latch fixed, and to have the coil replaced, the spools and garage door wheels on the side replaced. The lifetime warranty is nice and helped sell the high end option, and when the engine is ready for a new one, we'll call Precision. Glen was very proficient and personable. We trusted in him so we went with the high end fix. Overall I'm very pleased, the garage door is much quieter on opening and we now the work is guaranteed.

Very professional and on time for quickly scheduled appointment. We just purchased a home with a non-functioning garage door opener. Nate did an inspection and outlined 3 different options for us including another 3 options to replace the doors entirely. A lot of information, which I appreciated, and didn't push for the more expensive remedies. We chose to have the basics repaired to get the door functioning, but are seriously considering a more thorough replacement option based on Nate's professionalism and attentive customer service. I will definitely call them to continue the work we need.

I was appalled at the repair rep's recommendation to replace the logic board. He then told me that he was going to charge me $49.95 for the service call. Double whammy! He didn't do anything! I showed my frustration, at which point he called his supervisor again. His supervisor told him to waive the service call charge. After he left, I searched the Internet for the garage door opener's manual. I read through it, re-programmed the open and close limits. I then re-programmed the remote keypad external to the garage door. I resolved the problem. Does Precision Door Service need a part-time repair person?
Description of Work: My Guardian garage door opener would not open. When I pressed the button on the wall panel, the opener would beep 3 times at me. The same goes for the remote keypad outside the door. The repair rep came on time, but seemed like they dispatched a rookie. He had no idea how to fix the problem. He called his supervisor who told him to recommend replacing the logic board on the 2-year old opener. The quoted cost was approximately $200.

Great! We liked Ben, he really knew his trade. Showed us the problems and why the door wouldn't open. Suggested a variety of choices for repair and "tune up." Arrived early, was very nice, brought his trainee Mark, and knew just what the problem was. Gave us good choices of options and laughed at our jokes! What more could a consumer want??!!

A+ Service!! We had another company come out to give us a quote on maintenance of the door. They said we needed new springs. They showed up in a beat up pickup truck with no markings, and jeans and t-shirts with no markings. My gut said say goodbye and I did. Called Precision and they were able to come the next day. Dannie showed up in a clean marked truck, a uniform, and was polite. He confirmed that the springs were gone and needed to be replaced. He also found a hairline crack in the metal mounting piece and showed us how the rollers were bulging outward as the weight of the door was too heavy for them. We were presented with 3 options to fix the door. We went with the one that guaranteed the replacement for life as we didn't want to have to continue to deal with this in the future. It took him around 4-5 hours to take down all of the old parts and replace everything. The door is so quiet and you can really see what the difference is with the steel ball bearings. We are so pleased with the service we received from this company and Dannie!

Cody was friendly & professional. He pointed out a problem area that could be serviced now, but that also wait. I decided to wait. No hard sell. He presented several options of warranties at different prices. Again, no hard sell. He finished the job quickly. Full price was about $385, including tax. It would have been $326 with the the 15% discount given to Angie's list members. I took advantage of an offer on Angie's list for a prepaid replacement of 2 door springs for $233. This offer was on the Precision Door Services page but it was confusing. It listed the discount as 0%. That made it sound like maybe not a good deal, but they cannot list an exact % discount because each door requires different-sized springs at different cost, so they put 0% instead of leaving it blank. It says it cannot be applied to current or past jobs, but I did it as the job was being done. I guess technically he could have refused to honor it. You could play it safe by buying it ahead of time. It's an unbeatable deal.
Description of Work: inspected garage door lift system. One spring was broken. Cody recommended replacing both springs. He pointed out a possible problem area that might need repair in the future & that could be repaired now. I had him replace two springs.

AWESOME!! Ryan was the service technician and he was absolutely fantastic! He was right on time (actually called first and came by 1/2 early). He diagnosed the issue and fix it on the spot both professionally and expeditiously !! Ryan's commitment to exemplary customer service totally shined through. He walked me through the entire job and made it very clear what the issue was and how he remedied it. Further, and quite to my surprised and joy, Ryan greased the rails and now the garage door opens and closes with minimal noise. Thank you Ryan!! Ryan also came back the following day and adjusted the rails for me. This was totally above and beyond my expectations and I thoroughly appreciated it!! Precision was sent out by Fidelity Home Warranty and Precision is bar none of the best providers Fidelity has. All in all, the work that Ryan did was top-notch and I would not hesitate for a moment to call him back if need be!! Thank you Ryan! Greatly appreciate the exemplary customer service and knowledge.

Garage door broke on Saturday and they were able to schedule someone to come out Sunday. Ryan was super friendly and professional. Took about an hour to fix, and had all parts in his truck. Completely positive experience and the door is in better shape than ever. Did not shop around for price so might get a better deal somewhere else. However, I feel relieved that the work is complete. Ryan gave us his contact info and stands behind his labor.

It went very well. He was very professional and was able to do the work that same afternoon. He worked very efficiently to get things correct the first time. He showed us all old parts and installed the new parts.. His explanation, and demonstration of how the new equipment worked was very thorough. He is just a very skillful, knowledgeable, and detailed technician.
Description of Work: Thoroughly inspected the rollers, springs, door, and bar that assists with the opening/closing. Dannie went into great detail about what needed to be replaced and why. He showed us pictures of the crack we had on the metal plate that holds the springs in place. He presented us with several options. He did not pressure or scare us into buying the most expensive service.

The cable came off of both cable wheels on the garage door, due to a lack of spring tension. Nate asked a lot relevant questions about the age and the working order of the garage door lift. Then, he inspected the entire system. That cost $49.95. Then he presented a detailed quote for fixing the system, that included adjustment and tune-up. If the springs appeared to be underpowered, he said that would be an additional $338 for a new set. Lastly, as an option, we could upgrade our track rollers to nylon wheels as ours were metal and starting to age. This would make the system work easier and last longer. I inspected the wheels and could find sign of hard ware, like groves or warped in the idler arms or wheels themselves. I opted to replace those later and gave Nate the ok to proceed. Nate wound the cables, adjusted the springs, adjusted the travel of the door to be spot on, tightened all of the door's nuts and bolts. He then determined that the current springs were adequate for the weight of the door and that an upgraded spring set was not needed at this time. He adjusted the door lift for length of travel, force of travel and the tightness of the drive belt. Lubricated the door's hinges, etc. Nate was thorough, nice to deal with and very professional! The door sounds like new...smooth and quiet!

Very responsive with quick replies to phone calls and emails - weekend appointments which was great. Great, friendly service. The guy who did the estimate helped me bolt in the old broken garage door so the opening would be secure until the new one was installed. Everyone I spoke with on the phone was very friendly. My only qualm is that the guy who did the estimate exaggerated how fast things would likely happen. We ordered a flat front door, which he said they keep in stock and should be a 1 week lag time to installation. When I called to make the order, it turned out this was a special order and would require a month for shipping. No big deal, just be sure to find out the actual times on the phone, not by the estimate guy.

Nate called about 1:45 to tell me he was on his way and arrived just before 2:00. He quoted me the same estimate given to me on the initial call, to which I'd agreed. He and his partner Ryan got right to work and replaced the bad sensor but had to do a slight modification to get it working. While they were here, they also checked & adjusted all 3 garage doors so they closed flush to the floor. In addition, they inspected the doors for other possible issues including trimming some frayed cable, straightening a bent track, replacing a battery on an outside keypad and fixing an interior activation button that wasn't working properly, all for the same price. Ryan also quoted me prices for a couple of other things so I'd have that information about future expenses. I can't say enough about their professionalism and desire to make sure everything was repaired before they left. The only surprise was a happy one; they definitely went above and beyond the call of duty to make ensure everything was fixed, some of which I'd never noticed. They were very friendly, answered all my questions and worked very well together as a team. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone in need of garage repairs and will certainly call them again when the need arises.

My garage door was stuck and I noticed the spring was broken. They were very prompt and came out right away to fix the problem. I thought this would be a job that would cost somewhere around $100-$150 considering the parts cost around $50. I was going to do it myself but I was told not to by numerous people (springs can be dangerous they say...). After a quick inspection, I was given three options ranging from $435 to over $700. I said I wantedto cheapest route so I could open my garage door. I was told my bearings in the pulleys were about to break and I'd have to call them back soon if I didn't get the higher priced one now. The gentleman also said I'd likely just have to replace the whole door if that broke. I politely declined and said I would take my chances. He replaced the spring in 30 minutes. When I told him I was an Angie's List member and military he said I should have told him from the beginning. Now he had to run the price all over again. I was only allowed one discount and that's understandable. I see they now havea $233 deal for the same problem I had. This would have saved me $200 two weeks ago... Overpriced for sure. I will be taking on this task myself in the future.

Ben was very professional, extremely helpful and, as it turns out, very very good at this. Once the initial problem was solved (the faulty safety light) it became apparent that there was another problem: one side of the torsion shaft had been misalligned by the last company to install the torsion spring (NOT Precision) and it was now warped causing drag on the motor. We had recently had a flood, the bills were still coming in from that, and I did not react well to this information. I'm afraid I was skeptical and none-to-happy and it was not Ben's fault at all. But he was patient and kind through it all, and worked out a fix to carry us through until we could get this all fixed right....and I have got to say, when we do get this fixed, we will call Ben at Precision.

One of the better home service experiences overall. We had been having problems with the garage door not closing properly, so it was time to have it serviced. Coincidentally this offer came through Amazon Local, so I decided to purchase it. The cost for garage door inspection and installation of a new keypad was very reasonable ($79). Scheduling was easy - allowing us to complete it on a Sunday was a real plus. Our technician David Moks walked us through the inspection, gave us some tips on simple maintenance we can do to extend the life of mechanical parts, and offered some suggestions on upgrades we may want to consider. He re-programmed our remotes (recently purchased the home so we wanted new codes) and installed the keypad. He was very courteous and professional. The whole service call was done in less than an hour. If we needed additional work, I wouldn't hesitate to call Precision for an estimate. based on this experience.

I had an old wooden roll up garage door that was badly in need of retirement. One of the springs finally broke and the door was completely out of alignment. I was unable to use the door any longer without spending 10 minutes fighting to get it back down. Precision Door sent someone out to look at the job and show me the options for replacing the old door with an insulated steel door. Within a couple of days I received a written quote by email with the two options we had discussed. Once I made my choice, I ordered the door and scheduled installation. The installer arrived a few minutes early after calling to make sure it was OK to arrive ahead of schedule. He talked me through the process and got to work. The new door was hung and working within about 2.5 hours. The garage and driveway were left clean and the old door and track was hauled away. I am very happy with my new garage door and it was a pleasure working with Precision Door Service. Everyone I spoke with from the person who scheduled my original consultation to the installer was very pleasant and professional. I would not hesitate to refer Precision.
