I dropped my car car said I needed an oil change and the engine light was on. I didn't think to as for the price since I have never paid more than $35 for an oil change. They didn't give me an estimate of cost or time. I came back two and a half hours later, it seemed they just finished with the oil change but did not check the code for the engine light. I had to take my car so I asked how long it would take to do a diagnostic, they said it depended on the car, it could be 30 minutes to 60 minutes but since I did not have that time I just took my car. The cost ended up being 2x more than I paid at another auto shop a month ago on my other car. The labor cost alone was $18. In addition, I did not feel customer service was very good, it took 10 minutes to print up an invoice.

.Although it was more than I wanted to afford at that time it was well worth it. I took it in one morning, by the afternon thay had come up with a list of issues and things that neede to be taken care of. After i went through the list with a very nice person on the phone, we determined which issues were most crucial to get done and keep the care healthy. After we decided I was told it would be some time the next day and I think it was by mid-day the next day all the work was completed. There was an oil
change, steering fluid and brake fluid change, brakes were renewed in the front, a water pump was replaced... I can't remember all that was done. There were more things that needed to be done but i could not afford them all. So. all in all I feel secure knowing most of the big issues with the Santa Fe were taken care of. I will return here when my other car needs work:)

As years have gone by, it seems like the quality of service has gone down a bit. For instance, the last time I had a transmission flush, a hose clamp was not put back on (or fell off) and I lost all my transmission fluid on the highway - fortunately I was able to baby my car over to the side without getting hit. Another time I lost all my oil because the oil pan cap was not put on. Both times they were appalled and very apologetic and remedied the situation at no cost to us. Another time I had electrical issues that were intermittent, and I had to take it back many times to get the original issue fixed, fixing a lot of other stuff in the meantime that probably was not necessary. I guess that is not unusual with intermittent electrical issues, but it is still painful to put out money and not get something fixed.
Apart from a few instances in the last several years, we have had really good service from them. It is a comfortable feeling to walk into a place of business and be greeted by name. They also provide transportation to and from work if needed, send out discount coupons in the mail, and give free car wash coupons every time the car is serviced.
However, we just purchased a used car for from one of the major auto dealerships in town, and for grins I took my car to them recently for an oil change instead of Motoring Services. They were almost half the cost, and they washed and vacuumed the car as well!! I inquired and they also provide transportation to and from work, as well as providing a loaner car if you car is in the shop for more than a day. Although we love the people at Motoring Services and have known them a long time, we may end up shifting our business over to one of the "big boys" in the future if their costs and quality don't improve.

The appointment was easy to schedule and they agreed to extend a coupon offer sefveral days to get me in at the discounted price for the work I wanted. Office staff were very pleasant. I was promptly provided with a ride to my office. They called in about four hours to tell me that all of the work had been completed. They told me about what appeared to be a slow leak in one tire. When I picked up the car it was clean and all of the work seems to have been done correctly.

I had them do some work on my Honda, and they would NOT get a gold star on diagnostics. The car was overheating, and the car performance had changed. The information about the car performance didn't get entered into the record. They suggested that I get additional work done in addition to the original problem's fix, which was replacing the thermostat. However, after I left, I still had the original problem of low power. They followed up with me later, offered to do more diagnostics to find out the original problem – which was, after everything, a blown head gasket. I wouldn't have paid the additional $1500 for a service I didn't need. They did an abbriviated diagnostic the first time and not the complete diagnostic that was needed.

I've gone to Motoring Services for years. We are going out of town next week and my car is having a problem so I left a message last night on Motoring Services machine. They called at 7:30 AM to schedule my car to be fixed TODAY! I dropped the car off and the owner, Brian, brought me home. If that's not customer service, I don't know what is.
Motoring Services is locally owned and they provide fantastic customer service. Enough Said!!
