+ -1 moreMy new glasses were ready in about a week. I wore the glasses while on vacation and noticed that my distance vision was distorted, so I was re-examined by my ophthalmologist who adjusted the prescription. I returned to Costco, and they replaced the glasses at no additional cost. However, the adjustment was still incorrect: I continued to have problems with distance vision. So, again, I returned to the ophthalmologist's office, but this time, I saw the optometrist (again at no additional cost). The third time was a charm: The correction worked! I will continue to use Costco's optical center. In fact, my husband just picked up his new glasses and is pleased with their work.
Description of Work: I initially brought my prescription for new glasses to Sears Optical, but their prices were quite high, even with a coupon. So, I brought my prescription to Costco since the prices on their products and other services I use are great. I was fortunate to go at a time when their optical department was not busy, so I was able to get personalized service from one of the technicians who was able to take the time to help me select a frame. (Costco has a good selection of frames at various prices. However, the customer is limited to the stock on hand. They cannot order other sizes or frame colors.) Once I chose a frame, the technician took measurements and completed the order for the lenses based on the prescription.

+ -1 moreMaking the appointment was quick and easy. The actual exam was on-time, basic but complete, and the optometrist was very personable and was willing to answer all my questions. You report in to the desk and wait a few minutes, go into a traditional looking office with all of the modern equipment. Following the exam you are referred to the adjacent office to make payment. You may take advantage of the optical service at the same location or take your prescription with you or have the optician of your choice call for the Rx. I recommend this service. Frames were in the mid to lower cost categories but at excellent value. My long distance and computer frames and lenses have performed well. The opticians are also excellent and the follow up service such as frame adjustment or repair is at no charge. Frames with lenses take about 10 days to be returned to the store where you are then fitted. The folks are very experienced and friendly. I recommend this service.
Description of Work: The purpose of this appointment was to update my eye lens prescription on a two year cycle. This is the third time using the optometry service at the Federal Way Costco Optometry Department. I have always appreciated the professional but warm service. The basic exam was efficient and effective with a high value.

+ -1 moreIt will be two weeks before I receive the glasses and have them fitted. Costco Optical does reasonable prices. My experience with the people there was fine. The young man who waited on me and did measurements was very pleasant and competent. I don't have anything to go on quality yet.

+ -1 moreTheir prices are excellent. Their service is fast. I highly recommend them. I didn't get my eyes tested there. I paid about $90 for the same thing with another provider. Costco don't bill insurance and that's the only downside of them. They told me that it would be there in seven days but I got them in three days. They are great for service, if we need adjustments on our frames. They are very helpful.

+ -1 morereceived a call four days later that my glasses were in. I went down, best not to go I already had a prescription. If I had it to do over again I would have went to Costco for my eye exam like I did about 10 years ago. I just started looking around at the frames as they has customers they were waiting on. I liked the fact that the glasses were all priced so I didn't have to ask or wonder if it was out of my budget. I picked out about 6 frames then I sat down to look at each one in a mirror, they had a break in customers and I asked th lady which one she thought looked best on me as I had it narrowed down to 2, she liked the same onle I did, I asked her for the total pice as I had asked a few days before about the cost. She was very helpful and told me it would take 7 about 7-10 days and she gave me the recipt so I could also send it to my Medicare Advantage Insurance. They were great and really surprised when i received a call 4 days later that they were in. I went don on Sat. not a good day as they were busy. I would suggest a weekday. Anyway the person spent time getting mine adjusted correctly and I love them and their personal, they were great. My next exam and glass will definitely go back to Costco.
Description of Work: I love Costco. They have the best prices and selection at various eyeglasses places that I visited. I have a great frame that was only $69.00 by Sophia Loren, excellent selection at low prices. I was told it may take 7-10 days, I had them in 4 days! My glasses are (progressive and transition/ anti glare) for about $145.00, plus frames. Wal Mart wanted almost double for the lens but will bill Medicare, my out of pocket would have cost me about $125.00 more than Costco that does not bill insurance. If you can afford to pay it all up front which cost me $225.00 total ,incl. frames, it will save you money. I get reembursed $149.00 by Social Security, so I have $75.00 approx. out of pocket compared to WalMart out of pocket of over $125.00. Costco's lens are so much lower priced that WalMart., the only drawback with Costco is they do not bill insurance.

+ -1 moreThe service was incredible. The delivery was so impressive. I didn't know they did staging. It costs $25000 as we got it in on sale; it was a bedroom set and a mattress. Everything was delivered and set up. Every piece of plastic was removed, even the little ones and it was amazing. They are professional and delivered it early. It was perfect service. It wasn't staging, it was a bedroom set as well as mattress. I was really impressed.

They pay attention to detailing and they you keep going back until you're totally satisfied. I give them high ratings and will continue to go there in the future.

+ -1 moreI usually hesitate to use a big-box store but I was very happy with Costco. I would use them again in the future. I think their price was substantial. It was about a $400 lesser than another place here. It was actually two windows; I just had to do my bedroom. They had what I wanted and it was of very good quality. What I bought was expensive windows. It came to $1125 for two windows. They had blackout shades so it was the most expensive ones that one can get. The lady that came out from Costco took a lot of time to explain things to me. She was just great; friendly and very professional. I needed some information because I had something specific in mind and she explained to me the differences and also gave me some good advice.
Description of Work: I had Costco do some window treatments in my bedroom. I also bought two Hunter Douglas windows from them in October, last year.

+ -1 moreI am still waiting for my carpet (which has been paid for). When I ordered the carpet, the first consultant said I could get a $100 rebate and she wrote this on the contract. She said she would mail me the paperwork to fill out and mail in for the rebate. I never got the paperwork and when I asked about it this week, I was told I had to get it from the first consultant. She will not answer my calls and her email address is no longer valid. This has been a very frustrating experience and I have lost faith in Costco vendors of this type. I expect the same quality and professionalism I get from the Costco stores in my dealings with their other services. Very disappointing.
Description of Work: Costco had a promotional team selling carpet and window coverings in the Federal Way store. They offered a discount (dependent on the amount of carpet ordered) for orders taken at that time (July 08). I filled out paperwork to have a design consultant come to my home to select the carpet and give me an estimate. I explained I would be out of town the first week and needed to schedule the appointment in ten days. I never heard back, so after a month, I called the Custom Decorators. They assigned a consultant and she came out, measured and gave me an estimate. I was not firm on the carpet color and she said she would bring out additional samples of the colors I was interested in looking at. She did not call back, so I contacted her. She did come out with one sample, but without the other samples to compare. She also had no knowledge of the Costco promotional discount and claimed Costco never gave discounts on decorator services. I called the Custom Decorators and they said they would look into the issue. They did call back and said that the discount did not apply to the carpet I purchased. The consultant came back out with the samples, I made a final selection and signed the papers on 8/11/08. This was charged to my Costco American Express card and it has been paid. The consultant told me it would take about 3 weeks for the carpet to arrive and then the installers would contact me. Well, by 9/10/08 I had not heard from anyone. I again called, for two days! I kept getting put off and no one would explain where my order was. Finally, another design consultant called and said for some reason (unknown) my carpet had not been ordered. She said she would order the carpet and move me to priority installation. She said it would take about one week for the carpet to arrive. I asked if she would call me and confirm that the carpet had been ordered. She said she would call me the next day and let me know. So far I have not heard back from this company.

+ -1 moreWell I think they are good but I didn't like that I took my car to them because they were going to replace the 2 front tires, but after the job was finished they replaced the 4 tires on my car and the 2 back tires were already new, so I didn't t like that. They didn't charge me for this problem, but I really wasn't comfortable with the situation.
Description of Work: They change the tires of my 2002 Chevy Pigeon.

I WAS UNHAPPY TO FIND OUT LATER THAT THE HOOVER WINDTUNNEL VACUUM NEEDS TO HAVE THE FILTERS REPLACED VERY FREQUENTLY IN ORDER TO NOT BURN OUT THE ENGINE AND THE FILTERS RUN $25! SO MUCH FOR THE SAVINGS ON THE VACUUM. THE VACUUM ITSELF IS GOOD AS LONG AND YOU EMPTY IT WITH EVERY USE OTHERWISE THE SUCTION IS GREATLY REDUCED.
