LGD Garage Doors

Not so great. They recommended I buy a whole new garage door and I got somebody else who came out and actually fixed it. I did not go with there recommendation. I would recommend that they attempt a repair than try to sell me a new garage door.

He came late, he didn't really even apologize and I think it's mainly the attitude.

They never answered any of my emails even after asking them to please at least tell me if they couldn't do the work at this time - still never have heard back from them. Horrible customer service. Very disappointed in this company. I used them once before and they were great - not this time.

They did a good job. One technician came out to do the tune up and it took him about an hour. I gave them a B overall, because I feel like when it rains I still have water that comes in underneath.

After purchasing the deal I had provided my contact information and some dates that would work however I never heard back by the date that was indicated so I called and scheduled an apt for 8/18/14, they were to arrive between 10am-12pm. I received a call that morning asking if they could come later however I had another service provider coming that afternoon so could not be flexible, they told me to never mind. About 30 mins later I received a call that they were at my home and to open the garage door, when I greeted them there were two young males, friendly and we discussed what work was to be done, I showed them the Angie's List copy, they asked if it was paid for which I replied yes. I indicated there was nothing wrong with the door I was going to be begin using the garage in the next month or so and wanted a tune up and ensure things were in working order, my current car does not fit and the new one will. They proceeded to work and told me they would let me know when they were done. About 15-20 mins later I heard the van leave, I thought maybe they needed to pick up some parts, about 10 mins later not hearing anything I went down to the garage to check and found a receipt left in the door to the garage. I checked the garage and no one was there however the garage door was left opened.. Needless to say I was surprised and disappointed that they did not check in with me prior to leaving, the only update I received was notes on the receipt stating "the door was in great shape and no further service was needed".. The door seems to work well and I think they conducted all the checks indicated as part of the tune up however it was a very quick visit and I didn't appreciate them leaving without checking in with me. I indicated that I would use them again however my answer would be maybe as that was not an option.

He did a good job. He told me exactly what I needed and he had that with him and it works great. I had to have him replace the motor and he knew what he was doing.

It was nice that LGD Garage Doors open on Sundays. I called on Friday to set up a Sunday appointment at 7am, but the technician eventually showed up around 12pm after many phone calls. The work was done properly, but I believe that I was overcharged (i.e. $250 for about one hour labor) and the payment collection was very prompt.

My garage door was too old for the provider to do the tune up. They were really nice.

We found LGD Garage Door Repair on Angie's List. We needed to fix the garage door at my Mom's house in West Seattle. When I called they said they could send out a man to fix the garage later that same day. I got a call from the repair man, Eli, twice with time of arrival estimates. Eli was great! He was very familiar with out unusual garage door system. It's a very heavy solid wooden double wide door and the rollers wind in reverse. No problem. He recommended a good plan and gave us options which would cost more, but he didn't press and was fine with what I wanted to have done. Eli was very friendly and explained everything quite well. I was so pleased with the repair I had him do a roller replacement as well, very good price on that as well. The door is over 60 year old and works like new. I would use LGD again and ask for Eli, he's the cat's meow!

Excellent. The technician was very courteous and listened carefully to my description of any issues. All issues were handled prior to his departure. Highly recommended.

Technician advised that neither door needed to have the rollers replaced, since they seemed in good condition. He asked whether the doors get cycled often and I confirmed they do not. Nevertheless, the doors are old, possibly original from the 70s. Most of the value in this deal to me was in the roller replacement. That's why I bought two of this deal (one for each door). One of the doors is now quieter, but the other one seems just as noisy as before. To his credit, the technician did advise me on less expensive ways to maintain the door. Still, I didn't feel as though I got much value for the price.

Ely came and walked me through what he was going to do. I now know more about garage door maintenance thanks to him. He was professional, thorough and one of the nicest and honest people I've had the pleasure to work with. He tuned up the door, and talked with me about replacement parts - those that were more important to pay attention to and things to keep an eye on. He replaced a broken hinge and tried to straighten out a ding on the door. He was wonderful and I would go back to this company in a heart beat. Great work!

He had a little trouble finding our home but once he did he completed the work in a timely manner. As posted in other reviews he was a bit hard to understand.

Confirmed a date and time window (8:00am - 10:00am). Office called to say tech would be out at 9:00am. Tech later called to say he would be out at 10:00am. I called to reschedule two days later. One day later the tech called to say when he would be out that day (a day earlier than rescheduled). When I did not respond, the office called to ask why I was not home. I eventually called back to let them know the new appointment wasn't until the following day. They acknowledged their mistake. The actual day had the same time window and I had been assured mine was the first appointment. Tech called at 9:15 to say he would be out in about 20 minutes, again at the far end of the window. Tech arrived at 9:35. He did his work but told me I needed new springs because the springs were shot, beyond the end of their service life. He said he could replace the springs for something over $400.00, plus tax. I thought that was expensive and told him so. He told me if I found a lower price, I would then be told that extras and other materials would put the price in the same range as his offer. I went on-line and the first two places I checked showed prices around $250 (plus tax), all inclusive. I went back to the tech and told him I would go to another company. He lowered the price to just under $400, but said he couldn't go any lower. He finished and left (openly discouraged by my decision). When the other company came out - later that day and exactly when he said he would be there, he said I didn't really need to have the springs replaced but that I would in the near future. We agreed to have the springs replaced for the "as advertised" price of around $250 + tax. LGD would have charged me almost $150.00 more for the same quality springs (I purchased an upscale set to increase the service life). While the new tech was doing his work he discovered that the first tech had only replaced 9 of the 10 rollers that were part of the contract. The new tech replaced the last roller without charging me for it.

It was a pretty positive experience. He didn't do very much. He oiled the chain but I noticed after he did that, he didn't really put the grease where it actually goes to the mechanism of the opener; it really didn't do that much good. He checked the rollers and the spring, he said everything was fine. It wasn't really a very thorough thing, it's not that I expected it to be because I just wanted to see if the door is in good shape. The price was probably reasonable for what he did. I felt like he should have known to put the grease to the chain to the mechanism. He didn't do bad job, it's just I'm familiar of where you should put grease on a chain.

Tried 4 times to get them out to my place to do a garage door tune up. They seemed o.k. enough when I called them to schedule, but they never showed up. They would call AFTER they were supposed to be there and try to reschedule later in the day, usually on a Sunday? After my experience today I don't want them coming out to my house at all and I want a refund of my 59.00. Sorry to say this too but the person that was supposed to come out had a very heavy accent and I could hardly understand him.

He inspected the door, gave me the analysis of it's condition, and gave me his recommendations. He did lubricate all the areas that needed it and answered all my questions about how to maintain the door and give it a longer life. I felt pretty confident that he knew what he was talking about and he spoke very good English. However, he did try to up-sell me, but he wasn't too pressuring about it. I felt comfortable with the $55 for the deal and what it involved.

They were fantastic and great. I would use them again. They sent one guy out to do the job. He got the job done in about 45 minutes. The scheduling was very easy.

The gentleman was very professional. Completed the work in a timely manner and advised of potential problem with spring.

We scheduled for 2/10/14 between 4-6, Vendor cancelled the appointment, because of the "Big Deal", they were overbooked. The next avaiable appointment would be 2/26/14 between 4-6. I received a call 2/26 am requested the appointment be moved to 2:30-4:00 as they were ahead of schedule. I received a call at 5:00 that he would be at my house about 5:20. The young man spoke such broken english that I couldn't understand anything he said. Fortuantely my husband was able to distinguish what he was talking about. Apparently our doors are worn out and need to be replaced, they would do that for $500 per door. Interesting that the lubricant seemed to do the trick and they are opening/closing fine. The problem we were having was only when it is freezing outside one door would catch. We will see if that happens again.

The tune up service went as expected however the tech recommended additional fixes to make the garage door operational. After spending an additional $200 the repairs left the door non-functioning and I was told I needed to spend another $500 to replace the garage door opener. This should have been the recommendation from the beginning. Now I feel that I have wasted money and time.

Superb communication! Sent an email to schedule appointment. They called back within 10 minutes. Everything went smoothly and I would use them again.

It seems to be working fine although I have been out of town and have not had much opportunity to test out the garage door.

He was polite and professional. He said the door was in good shape and pointed out that the springs had been replaced recently. He told us that the door did not need serviced and told us how to do routine maintenance. We feel a lot better about all the creaking and groaning that a garage door tends to do! Thank you!
