Robert Rathbone Handyman Services 215N Cabot VT 802-522-6255 Central Vermont's Premier Handyman Services Provider. I have over 35 years of experience in ALL aspects of home care and repair...both residential and commercial. A high quality result is not much more expensive than a quickie job, and the results are obvious, visible, and lasting. I have 5 consecutive years of receiving Angi's Super Service Award for Quality and Excellence. Those are not participation awards. I am proud to represent Angi in this little corner of Vermont, and I am grateful for Angi, they give me awesome exposure of my business. As for my one B.oguS. bad review..It's the result of not wanting to work in sub-zero weather. Battery-powered tools wouldn't work in it either. A full refund was issued in 15 minutes...sadly, it only took him 8 minutes to trash me in a bad review. Do you remember Sesame Street? The song:(all together, now) "One of these things is not like the others..One of these things just doesn't belong" :)) :)) I've created a 5 point philosophy of connecting with clients and potential clients. I call it 'HITCH': -Honesty- Always be straight. -Integrity- Don't compromise on quality. -Transparency-Be clear on everything. -Communication- Means no surprises -Heart- Love the client. I would not be here without you. You found me on a bulletin board. I have not been vetted by Angi, and Angi will never refer anyone directly to me, because I am not a paying customer. This bulletin board is a free service that they offer to non-paying service providers. This area isn't large enough to support paying for the advertising...over 5+ years, my reviews speak for assurance that you will get a quality outcome every time. As for a background check, I can save you the 17$, as the only thing on my 'record' occurred in 1985 (86?) when I was caught with a joint at Tunbridge Fair. I restore vintage stereo equipment as a sometimes paying hobby...to keep that equipment in circulation, and to feel the gratification of seeing someone who will enjoy it when they purchase a piece from me. If you would like a nice piece of audio equipment, or an entire system of restored vintage audio, I'm right here! I am 100% quality oriented, and I do not cut corners on any project. I will work late if time is a factor to complete a project, and I will respond for an emergency at any hour. I have the tools and the talent to tackle the task and I will not leave a mess when I leave for the day, or at the end of the job I encourage my clients to ask questions...I'll never talk down to you if you ask me about something I'm doing to your home...why I'm doing it that way, and how I chose that method to do the job the way I am. If you see something you do not like during the course of the job, please bring it to my attention immediately. I cannot correct what I don't know about. It's not fair to either of us to have me do something that you don't like or want... especially if you could have averted the problem earlier by simply asking "what the heck?" Payment in full is due upon completion of service, and engaging my services is acknowledgement and acceptance of these terms. I always will have your best interests at heart. Just as I would never say that cutting your finger off is a good idea, I'd never give you bad advice on something to do with your home. I know what I can and cannot do, and I will tell you if something is not in my realm, and if you are better off having someone who does that particular job every day take care of it. I won't leave something worse off than when I started. I do not mark up prices on materials. My job is install em, not sell em. Nobody can say I sold them something they didn't need just so I could make a buck. I do charge, at my lower rate, to go fetch materials. I have a 1 hour charge for estimates as traveling to look at the job is a real expense, and time consuming. I have a small mileage surcharge for trips from 41 to 59 miles from home. I add 30 minutes labor daily. over 60, an hour a day. I accept cash, (good) check (50$ fee plus my penalties if a bad check) Venmo, and Zelle for payment options. I shop locally as much as possible, and network with several other professionals in the area who share the same ethical and quality standards that I do. I feel I'm responsible for the project even if I'm not doing that particular segment of it. My labor rates are: 45$/hr for general work 65$/hr for technical work, like plumbing...septic/sewer line work is 80$/hr...because nobody likes playing in poo...electrical, and propane, etc. are at 65$/hr, too. I do have a 2 hour minimum, in lieu of a service or other charges...so if I'm coming over, make a list! Thank you for your time and for visiting my page. Robert is highly skilled and is able to fix, install and repair EVERYTHING! I appreciate Robert's dedication to his customers. He is so dependable and dedicated to doing good work. He actually showed up at 9PM to help me with a leak. Beyond being so competent, Robert has a virtuous character. He is trustworthy, reliable, and has an overall positive, calm attitude. I appreciate these qualities especially when things are broken and I am feeling stress. His ability to take care of the problems quickly and easily is such an asset. I feel so fortunate to be his customer!
Description of Work: Installed propane Hot Water Heater, repaired dock, installed outdoor shower, removed 600 pound boulder, fixed a gas leak, mowed, delivered firewood, weed whacked, repaired drive, baited rodent boxes, repaired solar powered water pump system, repaired clothesline bracket, fixed door hinges, and so much more!

Always goes great. He is the most dependable person I have ever found to help me take care of my home and property.
Description of Work: Robert does everything. Property management, maintenance, design and construction, snow plowing, roof raking, fixing things no one else can fix, big jobs, small jobs, and overall troubleshooting and fixing. He even does rodent removal!

I find Robert to be very trustworthy and his work is exemplary. He installed flooring while I was away and I left my keys with him. He assembled furniture, provided grounds work, and seems willing to help with anything I require.
