Great Job Moving and Storage

I was happy with their services. Not to mention that they were able to squeeze me in at the last minute and on Easter day.

They showed up late, barely spoke english (they were Russian). There was only one guy that spoke english and apparently I made him angry a few times because he kept calling someone and yelling in Russian, and it just happenned to be right after I had asked him to do something - like move my $500.00 plant. This made him very angry even though I confirmed when I hired them over the phone that the plant would not be a problem. They were late so the move ran late and they were not happy about working so late - all my possessions were put into a storage unit and they were stacking boxes upside down and just didnt care about anything - when I saw them start to put a large heavy box on a very fragile table I jumped out of my car and fell on the ice. I was speaking to the owner on one of their cell phones at the time and his phone got scratched. I went down pretty h****** my hands and knees and all he cared about was his phone - he even texted me the next day demanding an apology for scratching his phone. They were not professional nor were they nice. By the end of the ordeal I was actually a little frightened of them.

I used the Angie's List coupon, and including purchasing gatorade for the movers, paying for rolls of tape, tips, and such, it was about $400.00. A friend of mine had recommended G + J, and my husband and I were impressed with them. Jeff (the J in G + J) was very helpful in determining what kind of service I needed in terms of how many men on a crew, (we went with 3 men since we had some very cumbersome pieces) and for how many hours. My phone calls with him in advance were very positive. On the day of the move, our movers weren't scheduled to arrive until 4:00. As early as 1:30, I got a call from Jeff that the crew was running late - the early appointment had severely underestimated how much stuff they needed packed. He was apologetic, and said he wanted to give me a heads up in case it caused any delays with my appointment. I appreciated his getting in touch with me early. Around 3:30, I received another call, again Jeff apologized, and said it looked like they wouldn't be able to make it until about 5:00, and that as a sign of appreciation for our patience, he would give us a substantial discount on our service, which was really nice of him. The crew showed up around 4:45, and were all extremely polite and efficient. They had our furniture wrapped and out the door in no time! Once at our house, the crew quickly placed the furniture where we wanted it, going above and beyond in placing one particular sofa in a difficult to access room. They even helped us set up the flatscreen TV on it's platform. Everything was taken care of so quickly, it blew us away. Nothing was scratched or broken. The crew was professional and focused, and took care of everything. It was made the move less stressful for us. The head crew member took care of our paperwork promptly, and the discount was included, which we didn't even have to remind him of. I would have given a lower grade for the delay, but they were so good at communicating with us throughout, and compensating us for our wait, that I don't mind it. It was well worth the money, and I would highly recommend them to anyone in the area.

Moved from a townhouse to a single family home. One mile from the original location. The price included a truck and three gentleman that were hardworking, professional, and took great care in protecting my belongings even though the move was only one mile away. I would recommend them and use their services again.

The movers arrived about 15 minutes early and did a brief walk through. The took no time at all to begin moving. The move did take two trips because the truck was about half the size of a semi, but they also didn't take any breaks so it went very quickly. They wrapped all furniture and moved everything carefully. I didn't have any damage, they did an excellent job.

I looked for a company to move my large 1 bedroom apartment from the Washington D.C. area to Philadelphia. I used Angie's List to solicit estimates for moving services only. I was going to pack boxes myself and just use the moving company to wrap bigger furniture and transport everything. G&J's estimate seemed to come in too low to be true, but after going over all the great Angie's List reviews I decided on them...and I'm glad I did. I have no complaints about any part of the move. They did not ask for a deposit and Jeff was always quick to respond to my emails or phone calls as I prepared and we discussed the moving options. They were extremely flexible with all my requests and offered pricing for any number of different services. They offered to either charge me by-the-hour or use a flat-rate. I elected to go with the flat rate since my "by-the hour" estimate would have broken even, anyway. They also offered to give me a "all-inclusive" packing material rate or sell me items "a la carte". I elected to go with the "a la carte" option since I had previously purchased a number of packing materials. That ended up being the right choice since they only used $50 in materials (tape, plastic wrap, paper blankets, etc.). They were scheduled to show up between 9:00 and 10:00 and arrived at 9:30. After a quick survey and taking time to listen to all my requests, Nick and Hassan started working. They worked quickly and only stopped for a quick drink/bathroom break. Then we hit the highway, they ate lunch on the way and were not far behind me when I arrived in Philadelphia. They were quick to unload the truck in Philadelphia and then even came to a storage facility to unload part of the truck into my storage unit. The all inclusive price included 90 minutes of packing/loading, 60 minutes of unloading at my home, 30 minute drive to the storage facility, 60 minutes of unloading at storage unit, use of a large 16' truck, 3 hour drive each way to/from Philadelphia (to include fuel, tolls, etc.). I imagine they made it back to D.C. around 9:00 pm, so they would have worked close to 12 hours on my job. I ended up tipping both movers for their hard work, good nature, and flexibility. I would definitely recommend them for your small moves and consider them for your large moves as well.

I called on Saturday after seen their ad online in C****list. While I was not certain this was going to be a good experience, I was pleasantly surprised. The manager was very kind, and wanted my business, even though I had a very small job. He arranged for three movers to show at 8am on Sunday morning (the next day!). The movers showed up right on time, helped disassemble some of the appliances, moved everything without damaging the appliances or my walls, and did everything in under 45 minutes. Really nice courteous guys! Very happy with this company!

The moving team arrived on time and quickly went to work staging the apartment and carefully preparing the furniture. They worked diligently for 1 1/2 hours and even used my moving supplies first (tape, shrink wrap, etc). Due to traffic it took longer to get to the storage unit, but they made a concerted effort to compensate for the time lost sitting in traffic. I would use them again for a local move. The only 2 areas for improvement: 1) contact customer a day or two prior to confirm the moving time/run through last minute details and answer questions 2) clearly communicate the start time prior to commencing services.

These guys were excellent and by far the best movers we've ever had! They had everything out of our top floor 2 bedroom condo and into our newly purchased single family home a few miles down the road in just under 3 hours. I will DEFINITELY be using them again in the future! Thank you G&J for providing us with the most stress-free moving experience!

The Moving Service was wonderful. The movers arrived on time, were polite, professional, worked very quickly and were responsive to our requests. In particular we were very impressed with the job they did in moving the couch. We have a very large couch that is extermely difficult to get out of the apartment and into the basement of our home. The movers worked tirelessly to make sure they were able to move the couch out of the apt and into a room with a very narrow door. With their ingenuity and a lot of hard work they were ablt to get it through an almost impossible door. We'd definetly recommend them again and their normal prices are also less expensive than a lot of other movers that I've seen.

The crew called 30 minutes before arriving and were right on time. They walked us through the process, wrapped our furniture and loaded all the boxes we packed. They were quick and efficient and were very careful with our items. When we arrived at our new building the elevator was not locked out like it was supposed to be, but they never complained and instead made the best of the situation. Our new building has narrow hallways and they took extreme care not to hit any of the walls or damage any of our belongings. With the elevator set back, they still finished within the 3 hours that I paid for and I couldn't have been happier with the service they provided. They were worth every penny and made our move so easy and stress free. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone and will be using them again in the future.

Awesome customer service and first rate service. They showed up on time, were fast, efficient and very professional. They went above and beyond to make sure all my stuff was moved safely and without incident. Due to the distance from one home to the other, we went over one hour, but I was already anticipating this and put it in my budget. I contacted multiple companies to get estimates. G&J responded very quickly and continued to reply to further emails quickly as well. They were very clear in the costs and service. Crew called to advise they were about 20 minutes away and then again when they were outside. They came in, assessed everything and then, very clearly, went through the rules and charges for packing, packing materials and all else. One crew member stayed inside to pad wrap while the others began taking things to the truck. They were careful and we had no damage to belonging or the house. The move in on the other end went just as smoothly and without damage. The crew worked quickly, carefully and straight through, they were genuinely happy to have work and discouraged us from helping, telling us it was their job. I would recommend them again. Notes: Expect to use a lot of packing tape, they are not shy about using it, 10 rolls maybe more at $3.00 a roll but again, nothing got damaged. Move took longer than expected but we had more than the typical one bedroom apartment and the move took just over 6 hours for move out and move in. We didn?t feel that they straggled or went slow; they worked at an appropriate pace to be quick and careful, no complaints.
