Great Job Moving and Storage

The guys at G&J that I worked with were very flexible and easy to work with during the move. They were on time (8am) and we finished a bit early. They were diligent in protecting mirrors, musical instruments, and other fragile items and very communicative in decisions about how to move items. The only reason I gave a "B" for quality is that the service is two guys and a truck and not necessarily uniformed or anything like that. This really shouldn't be the deciding factor for you though, because they do a great job at a solid price (I did price shop a bit).

The service turned out great. They had to stay about 2 hours more so I paid a little extra. It was all around a good service, nothing negative.

They came when they said they would. They did what we needed them to do. They were polite and seemingly careful with our furniture. We had no complaints at all and would be happy to recommend them - and use them again if needed. The $299 deal for three hours work via Angie's List was great!

I bought their Big Deal coupon. I ended up spending $250 to $300 more than the Bid Deal amount. They showed up on time and were pretty small guys; it was a little surprising for all the heavy stuff that I told them that I had to move. It was an older gentleman and a young skinny guy. There was some real heavy stuff that I needed moved and it was a little difficult for them. They spend a lot of time taping stuff instead of moving stuff. The taping was not necessary and I had to kind of supervise them and tell them that they needed to be moving stuff since we had a time limit but they spent a good couple of hours just taping. I was trying to get them to go a little bit quicker. They were a little slow but overall nothing was damaged so it was okay.

In order to reduce our moving cost, we packed up and moved as much as we could ourselves. We had no way to move our desks, couch, beds, dining room table, etc, so we wanted to hire a moving company. G&J's deal looked great to me, since my last move cost almost $700, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Before buying the deal, I contacted G&J to discuss availability, since I did not want to pay for a coupon I couldn't use. Unlike other companies I had previously contacted, G&J was willing to help me move on a Sunday, which worked out great for our schedule. I bought the coupon and scheduled the appointment. We were told the movers would arrive between 8-10am. At 8:15am, I received a phone call saying they were 15 minutes away. By 8:45, the movers, Stan, Alex, and a 3rd guy whose name I do not know, had parked their truck and were inside wrapping up all of my furniture. Meanwhile, Stan discussed the contract and billing with me. He walked me through the whole contract and suggested I read it, which I did. He also discussed additional fees, which were not covered by the Angie's List coupon. . Stan told me it would be $3 per roll of packing tape, which they used very generously, $8 for fabric items, like my mattresses and couch to prevent them from getting dusty in the truck, $30 for the 50 inch plasma TV, and if I wanted to use a credit card, I'd be charged an additional 4%. I started to get worried because the fees were adding up. I almost felt like I was getting scammed The movers seemed very efficient. They looked like they were moving as fast as they reasonably could, and they got all of my stuff loaded into the truck in just over an hour. I drove in my car and they followed me to the new house, and asked if they could back into the driveway. They began unloading things immediately, asking where everything should go as they did. Within an hour, everything was unloaded and both beds were put together. They guys even helped me put felt feet on my furniture so it didn't all scratch our floors. When they were done (half an hour early), Stan came to talk to me about the billing. I was ready for him to say I owed another $200+ on top of the Angie's List deal, but all I owed was $44. I was so relieved. The guys did a great job moving everything, I wanted to give the company a positive review, so I'm very happy that I am able to. G&J is very quick and efficient. None of my furniture was damaged, and the price was certainly right. All of their workers were very professional and did a great job. I would definitely recommend them to anyone -- and get the Deal if it's still available!

G&J was responsive and set up the move for requested date. We used a $349 coupon for 2 movers for 4 hours (extra each additional hour). Move took just over 5 hours. We were a little surprised to see that 1 of the 2 movers was an older gentleman. He mainly did organizing and moving boxes with dolly whereas the younger person did more heavy lifting. As noted earlier, we moved all the fragile or electric items ourselves. The movers essentially were moving the boxes and furniture (eg, arm chair, end tables, coffee table, bed, couch, dresser, etc). We give G&J a generous "C" grade. The 2 main reasons for the grade are that they broke our couch and put a deep gash into our hardwood floors. The movers broke the couch during the move. It was a well made, $2,000+, Crate & Barrel couch. The movers failed to tell us they broke the couch. We discovered it was broken the next day when we sat down on it and it sagged. We noticed the movers had trouble getting the couch into the front door of the house. We observed that they took the couch around back (to go via back door) and during that process there was a bit of yelling between them (in a language we did not understand). They ended up getting the couch into the house via the backdoor but it seems they likely broke it in the process. We think this was entirely preventable and also we are pretty sure they were aware that it was broken (given the yelling and difficulty they had when taking it around the house). They also put a deep gash into our hardwood floors. The did this by putting the arm chair on top of a clearly marked area where we had wall socket coverings, screws, etc. Its beyond us why they thought to put the chair here and they stack another arm chair on top of it.

I used them in October, 2012. I don't recall the exact price. They were punctual, professional. They worked quickly and efficiently. I would give them top marks across the board.

We were very skeptical about the G&J low quote when every other moving company made quotes above $2000. But based on the reviews I took a chance and I?m glad I did. The guys exceeded my expectation in every way. Professional, punctual, kind, patient, quick?I could go on and on. Every box was handled with care and every itema was place where I asked. Nick and the guys are the best!

We recently moved from a 2 bedroom apartment to a single family detached house about 20 minutes from where we were renting. We found G&J moving through Angie's list and purchased the $349 deal. My wife and I could not be happier with how the move went. I was called 15 minutes before the mover's arrived which was great. They also arrived in the time promised. Once they arrived we reviewed the deal and the items to be moved. My wife and I were able to take most of the boxes of stuff before the day of the move so what was left was the furniture we could not move ourselves. We discussed which items we should wrap in order to protect. They charge per role of tape so I was a little nervous they would use too much to up the charge. I was wrong, what they charge a roll of tape is a fair price and they did a great job wrapping. They knew what they were doing and none of our furniture or items were damaged. They were very efficient but like I said, protected the items from damage. When we got to the house, they even put pads on the floor to protect from bringing in dirt/water as it was a raining day. We finished the entire move in 3 hours which was covered by the deal. Be sure to know ahead of time what items you want to get wrapped, it will save on time to know ahead of time. I would definitely recommend this company. And if you get Stan and his crew they will do a great job for you for sure.

They were on-time, professional, efficient, and most importantly, careful with all my stuff. They were great about working with the packing material I had on-hand to help minimize my costs. Would definitely use them again.

3 movers from G&J met us at the house with a large van. They loaded everything on their van, put protective padding over all furniture, and unloaded everything into the apartment within the 3 hour time frame. Everthing was delivered intact. The movers were pleasant. So, overall, a fine experience at a good price.

I paid a little more than the coupon for packing material around my TV. I had packed everything, but they moved everything from the apartment to the truck and from the truck to my new apartment. Everything was done very well. It was very professional. They were very careful. It took about 4 hours. They were very responsive and emailed before hand.

I used the Angie's list 3 movers for 3 hours deal and it worked out well. I also upgraded to a larger truck which was absolutely necessary for a full move. The guys showed up on time and I was amazed at their speed in moving. We had just had our new house repainted and they did not make one nick or ding in delivering. It was truly a great experience and the end of day pricing was more due to my lack of packing things in boxes for them to move and then at the new house I had them move things around multiple times to multiple floors. Bottom line is they worked hard, fast and carefully. They were on time and actually cared about doing a good job.

We had a great experience with G&J. We coordinated several weeks in advance in order to get an idea of how many movers they needed to send. On the day of the move they called in advance to let us know when they would arrive. They came in and were very courteous and careful with all of our belongings. At the new house, they put everything where we told them to and unwrapped the items they protected. I would definitely use them again.

Could not have gone better. Sent a detailed list of items for an estimate, and were given an estimate of three men for 3 to 5 hours. The entire move was completed in 3.5 hours. They were 100% professional throughout the move, and we were amazed at their efficiency. They even read the boxes as they unloaded them from the truck and put them in the rooms for which they were marked. The total cost was broken down as follows: $349 for the first 3 hours (Angie's list coupon) $50 for the additional 0.5 hour $50 for being on the third floor with no elevator $40 for packaging a TV (they offered to load it into one of our cars at no cost for $40 for them to package & move it) $24 for wrapping the two couches and mattress (also offered to just use furniture pads at no cost, but they did a fantastic job with the wrapping) $18 for tape

They were great. They arrived on time, took care of everything promptly, and I had no problems with them.

The service was not bad, all the movers are professional, and they were pretty quick! I don't know if that's because I didn't have many stuffs to move, and I had already purchased the coupon, which was 2 movers for 4 hours. At last, it only took around 2 hours to complete the move, I though it would be much cheaper if I hired the mover by hour. But anyway, those guys were polite and professional, and there was no hidden charges for the move (except the tape which they use to wrap the furniture). Overall highly recommended.

GJ three man crew and 16 foot truck called with a 45 minute notice of arrival. They arrived and toured the entire place. It was raining the entire day. The crew was very professional with wrapping furniture and putting blankets on the floor. The loading process took much longer than expected from the original estimate. They stayed the extra hour and half to get everything. They took apart beds and furniture and put them back together upon arrival. Upon arrival to the new house, they prepped the place with blanket to protect the house as it was a much nicer place. Unloading was much faster than loading. I must give this crew credit. They worked fast and hard. There was slight dissension in the ranks for a couple of times, but it was handled professionally and likely the exhaustion and familiarity that comes with working together for a long time.

Great considering there were a lot of stairs in my old house.

This is a really good company. The owner honored the Angie's List coupon with no questions or hesitation which made it a really good deal. He explained exactly what the extra charges might be, and for us it ended up being only a couple roles of packing tape. We had provided some packing tape which they were happy to use before their own. The two movers were very polite young men who arrived exactly on schedule and waited patiently until the building's freight elevator decided to work. They wrapped all of the furniture in pads and plastic and nothing was even slightly damaged in the move. They ended up waiting again at the new building because a service truck was blocking the loading dock and nobody could locate the driver. They worked quickly but efficiently on an unseasonably hot day. I highly recommend them.

The service was performed well overall. G&J Movers contacted us beforehand to gather all pertinent moving information and provide some packing/moving tips. The three movers arrived on time with their moving truck, worked quickly and professionally, and finished on time. They worked carefully and did not break or damage any items. It is clear they are experienced at moving homes. Would recommend their service and would use them again for any future moves.

Responded to my moving request on a Saturday and was able to make an appointment on the following Monday. The 2 man crew arrived on the dot and was efficient and helpful. All of my furniture were moved carefully and arrived without damages. At the new house, all furniture are placed where I asked them to. Overall a great experience.

This company was delightful to deal with, answered every question, showed up on time and did a great job. They wrestled a chest freezer out of my basement -- and won! Can't say enough good things about them plus the price was right. Although I hope to never move again, if I did I'd use them in a heartbeat!
