Great Job Moving and Storage

it was a much bigger job than I realized but they worked non-stop and very professionally.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went very good. I paid another $100 because we went over the allotted time based upon the deal.

The move went perfectly. The movers from G&J showed up on time in the morning and carefully packed the contents of my mother's two room apartment. They then transported the goods to my mother's new place and carefully unloaded and unpacked the good at the new location. The movers were extremely polite and courteous. Overall they did a great job.

The whole process went really well, pretty than I hoped. From setting up the appointment, providing estimates to the movers showing up, properly caring for our pieces and working very efficiently. The three guys had a very strong system and were polite. They showed up on time (under projections) and finished the job under budget. We bought them lunch to have waiting when they got to our destination but they chose to unload the entire truck before eating anything. Could not recommend them enough, we were extremely pleased with the services.

I purchased an Angie’s List Big Deal for this service and it was fantastic; they did a great job. My husband was very pleased with them and if we have the opportunity we will use them again. They were on time, which is a big plus for us. This company was extraordinarily professional and took great care in packing to make sure that nothing was broken. It was a fantastic experience. We used this company within 5 days after purchasing the Big Deal.

I was unable to use the big deal due to the company not being able to give me an appointment within a desired timeframe.

When I set up the appointment, they gave me a 2-hour window for their arrival. The morning of, they called to let me know they were an hour away, which I appreciated. When the movers arrived, we did a quick walk-through of the apartment so they knew if there was anything I didn't want moved (yes, there were a few items to be left there) and if I had any requests other than the boxes and furniture (yes, such as, I wanted them to unscrew a few items from the walls). One mover was going through all the costs with me... then he apologized and said he hadn't known during the estimate that I had two box-springs instead of one (for a king-sized bed), so he had added four dollars to my bill. I was surprised he brought this up because it's only FOUR dollars! but really appreciated how he was so conscientious about being upfront about every single cost. Then they spent two hours loading the truck. They were definitely working efficiently and quickly-- they were a lot more efficient than any other movers I've had in the past. No dilly-dallying at all. The three guys had obviously worked together in the past, because they had a system and immediately knew what to do and what their roles would be. They also took great care of my stuff and were clearly experienced at wrapping things up and carrying them, etc. The movers were super polite and courteous in every way and I felt very comfortable with them. They drove their truck to my new apartment while I drove my car. Somehow I was stuck in traffic and got there 15 minutes after they did. But they did not just sit there waiting around for me, they had already unloaded a lot of the truck, moved stuff along the sidewalk and all across the length of the yard to my front door, and so when I got there to open the door, they were ready to move it all in. At the new apartment, they were again very efficient, very polite. I hadn't thought through exactly where I wanted all the furniture in the new place, so I asked them to help me figure out the different options for layouts, and they gave me suggestions without any sign of impatience or condescension. I was really impressed by how efficient they were. I was also surprised that they did not charge me for the time they spent putting all the blankets, etc back in the truck after the move-- they only charged me up to the time they finished unloading the truck. All in all, this was an excellent experience. I will definitely call G&J for my next move. I have already told a few friends that my movers were much better than theirs have been.

G&J negotiated an excellent rate with us prior to the move day. On move day they showed up within the time frame they had given us. They worked quickly and efficiently to move our boxes to the truck and helped us wrap a couple of items we had not foreseen would need to go in the truck. When we arrived in NOVA, the two guys from G&J worked quickly and quietly (it was after 9 pm, so I'm sure our new neighbors appreciated this) to get everything moved into the right place. I have dealt with several much-lauded movers, and in the Northern Virginia area I would be very surprised to find a moving company with better service for better value than G&J. Suffice it to say, for any subsequent moves, I will go to G&J.

The moving team and Jeff were great! Jeff was very helpful in communicating and getting things organized. And the moving team...wow! They were hard working, professional, efficient and yet extremely careful. The move went as smoothly as any move I've done. Matter of fact, this was even better---the moving team showed up early which really worked out well from a timing perspective. Jeff called and told me they were running ahead of schedule and asked if they could come earlier...and then we were done earlier as well. Highly recommend these guys!

Overall very good move. Efficient 3 man team. Extremely thorough conscientious wrapping of all furniture with blankets and tape ($3/roll of tape). The primary staircase at the new place was somewhat narrow and the team quickly decided to take larger items up back staircase through the deck. Took advantage of a 3 hour Angie's List coupon and ended up paying for an extra 30 mins. The apartment management requested a COI which G&J provided. At the time of booking was given a three hour window for the movers to arrive and they arrived 30 later than the assigned window- but did call and let us know their status. 1 tall standing lamp was damaged in the move but we had left this unboxed. We were pleased with the services and would definitely recommend to others and also use again.

The three men moved our home in less time than originally quoted. They worked their butts off in the heat of August in DC. They took care to make sure everything went in the right room and never complained about the steep steps leading up to the house. This company is stellar. From start to finish we could not be more pleased with this service and we have moved 16 times in 24 years. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

They did a great job. The crews arrived on time and were great to work with. They did not damage any of our furniture and worked very efficiently. I would highly recommend them.

My original movers stood me up at the last minute and I needed to find a company that would move me with no advance notice. After calling three companies that were unable to help me, I was completely stressed and thought that I might have to ask my landlord for more time to complete my move. I contacted G&J Moving and was immediately put at ease. I was told that three men could be at my home within a few hours to move my things. I appreciate the fact that the men called me to let me know that they would be a few minutes late and when they arrived they were immediately prepared to work. They handled my belongings with care and asked where I would like each item placed to make it easier for me to arrange my new home later. They even re-arranged the furniture in my bedroom when I realized that my pre-measurements were incorrect. The men were very professional and they moved my entire two bedroom apartment in less than two hours! G&J charges $100 per hour with a two hour minimum and a $50 travel fee, which may have turned into an expensive move with another company but at a total cost of $250 turned out to be the easiest and least expensive move I have ever experienced. I will definitely use G&J Moving in the future and I would recommend them to anyone looking to move.

My mother said it went extremely well and that they were very professional and made sure several times that they had done everything she wanted. She was in poor health when they arrived and they worked around that. She was more pleased with the job these guys did than with any other movers she'd had.

G&J was professional from the beginning volley of emails back and forth between the manager and I. I had a unique situation based on work travel requirements and G&J was very flexible with supporting a short term move request. I appreciated that the pricing was explained up front and was not surprised by unexplained line items on the final bill. However the price was a bit steeper than I expected because my expectations of what 3 Men working to load a 26 foot truck in three hours was not really realistic for a three story apartment. However, the price was well worth it as I needed all the help I could get with the short notice. Would also like to highlight the professionalism and work ethic of Nic and his crew. With barely a rest, the three men worked their hardest to efficiently but carefully pack my belongings. Great work, overall, very satisfied. I am using G&J to store my things temporarily as well as deliver them to my new residence.

We have moved a number of times in our lives, and this was the best move ever. The original estimate was an open ended one with hourly rate, truck charge, and cost of supplies. their hourly rate was much lower than the others. Though I was somewhat skeptical about the lower rate, but both the Angie's list and the BBB gave them very good ratings, so I decided to go with them. They confirmed the moving date a couple of days before the actual date, came within the time offered. Three men came and worked the entire time from 9 to 7, moved the furniture, boxes, etc. from our 4-bedroom house to a 2-bedroom and a den condo about 4 miles away. Alex, Nick and Andrew are courteous and professional, very serious and no kidding around. They wrapped and taped just about everything. We have various stereo and computer equipment, and not sure how we can box them and have them moved, as they won't move anything that is not boxed. But they agreed to put the equipment in my car, and later unload them from my car and moved them without any problems. Once we are in the new place, I asked them to move the furniture first, have them in place before moving the boxes. So the boxes would not block the furniture, which they did. They also separated the things that are to go into the storage bin of the condo, and moved them in one big cart. The entire unloading is the most smooth one I have ever had. They did not damage or lose a thing. I might also add that these men are smart, and can remember the location of the furniture pieces correctly from the old place. The only minor problem I have is that they wrapped and taped all the pegs from the book cases to the shelves. We did not lose any pegs, but opening those tightly wrapped nuggets were challenging. Also the cost of their supplies is quite a bit higher than what you can get from U-haul, which is understandable as they need to make a profit. But I bought my own mattress covers instead of using theirs, which is much less costly. So look at the price list, which they provide to you, and may be you can get your own. And they give 5% discount to Angie's list members on everything, which really helps.

I am absolutely amazed by these guys and this company and I was NOT an easy customer! My last move was TERRIBLE. I have a review on Angie's list and many others because it was such a terrible move. So I was concerned this go around. Especially with G&J Moving's too good to be true price. This company was such a pleasure to work with! Even with my consistent emails and contacts to ensure that the price was not going to change, they were pleasant and got back to me immediately and assured me the price would not change. I moved from a 3 Bedroom home in Virginia. This house had 13 steps and a really ridiculous driveway. When G&J showed up they were friendly, professional, and efficient. There was no mention of additional costs because of an extra step or long driveway or any such nonsense I've faced in the past. I also had one extra box, two folding chairs, a mirror and an ironing board that I forgot to list on the inventory. With my past experience I was sure they were going to charge me for these. Not only did they not charge me they didn't even mention it, they weren't running down this big list of things I said I had. I can't even put in to words how amazing these guys were, in uniform, professional, came with tools. There was no sheet afterward to tell me I had to pay extra for packaging supplies. Nothing. I simply gave them 50% of the total quote. They even helped me move a few things of furniture I was trashing down to the curb. I moved into a 3 Bedroom home in Ohio, occupied already by my brother. They delivered my stuff to Ohio the NEXT day! They arrived and I informed them that a lot of the stuff would need to be taken to the basement since the house is my brother. They just smiled and said okay. No charge for extra steps or anything! They set everything up for me and were in and out with the other half of the money from the original quote!. They quoted me 2100 and I paid 2100. There was no in home estimate, just an inventory sheet. If your inventory sheet is accurate, even off by just a few articles you will pay what they quote you! Absolutely fantastic!!!! Two very nice guys in a 16-foot truck showed up during the pre-arranged morning time window at an Alexandria apartment high-rise and wrapped heavy wooden furniture with blankets, cling wrap and secured with tape. The entire operation took about an hour and a half! They transported the furniture to a two-story condominium about four miles away in Arlington. Unloading took about the same time. The guys were very willing to help move the furniture to the areas I chose once it was inside. They were extremely professional in both their demeanor and actions, and provided some great advice for the move. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone.

This was hands down the most painless move I've ever had to do, and it was all because of G&J. They were on-time, courteous, careful with our belongings, and moved very quickly. Often times, movers can drag their feet with doing work, but this crew was highly efficient, and in the end, this was very affordable. I've already personally recommended them to friends, and will use them again if I ever have to do another move in the future.

Could not have been more pleased with G&J from start to finish. They were incredibly responsive and professional from the first contact to request a quote through setting up service and the actual move. Their normal morning window of 8 a.m. was too early for my building, and they accommodated a 9:30 a.m. arrival. Their moving crew was super knowledgeable and quick. While they estimated it could take as long as four hours for our move, it ended up being just over three. We were never worried about how our furniture was handled and the guys never stopped the whole time. Great service and experience. Upfront pricing.
