Great Job Moving and Storage

They were very professional and they came right on time. They completed the moving in a very quick manner. They did the job and they went. I forgotten to schedule an appointment and a week before we were suppose to move I was in the hospital and I called them and ask them if they still have that booking available that day and they said that they were all booked up until a few weeks ahead. I asked them if they could help me and they actually called up clients to move people around so that they could accommodate me.

It was great! I thought they were very prompt and flexible. They did a good job. I had a lot of different places that I had to move my things to and it takes some of them to the good will. I didn't have any problems.

We had to move up 3 flights of stairs and we did it in a torrential downpour and they stuck with it. They worked great.

The movers showed up at the agreed upon time of 9am, but there were 2 men instead of the 3 as planned. To compensate they said they would charge us $100/hr (vs. $140/hr) for the 2 men until the 3rd one came (which turned out to be an hour later). From the minute they came the foreman seemed to have an attitude and was condescending. He even refused to honor the 5% off Angie's List Coupon I gave him (which I mentioned when I booked the services the month before) without calling the home office to confirm. Despite this, the other men were nice and the move went swiftly. They were even able to take apart and rebuild my children's bunk bed with minimal difficulty (no small feat). I hired them based on the excellent Angie's List reviews, but because of the foreman I would probably not hire them again.

We are in the process of moving from VA to MD, and we hired G&J to move all of the furniture that was too heavy for us to move ourselves. The company contacted us immediately to schedule the work, and they answered all of our questions promptly. They also sent us a schedule of possible additional costs (extra hour fees, optional packing materials, etc.) so there were no surprises; everything was exactly as advertised. On the moving day, the two guys that came were fast, efficient, and careful, and they made moving the heavy furniture look easy. We couldn't believe how tightly they packed the truck -- there was no wasted space at all. As part of our move, we took a really heavy washing machine and a freezer, both of which were difficult to get out of the door. At one point, we thought we were going to have to leave the freezer, but nope -- the movers removed the freezer door and figured out the angles, no problem. What a relief! The two movers were pleasant, friendly, and hard-working, and they made us feel at ease. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended! Thanks, G&J!

I thought I had booked the movers but had not. Then I had a baby early...just 5 days before the supposed move ( we had to move by a certain date) and we panicked. I had to organize scheduling the move from the hospital. G& L movers despite having been booked up on the day required, tried to organise some other clients around to make sure that we still got to move around the day that we had planned. They really tried to fit us in and that was appreciated. On the day of the move they arrived promptly and moved the enntire house witin no no time. The are really efficient.

Outstanding moving experience. G&J arrived on time and wasted no time in loading from the first apartment. It was an amazingly hot day. 90+degrees with high humidity. The three movers dripped sweat and only asked for cold water to drink. I was amazed at their strength and work ethic. Arrival at the new apartment was even more amazing because it was a third floor walk-up. These gentlemen hoisted boxes on their backs and brought them up the flights of stairs. They set the bed up in the bedroom and placed other items as we directed. They were completely courteous throughout and never slowed down despite the horrific weather. I felt that their price was more than reasonable given everything they were able to accommodate. I highly recommend their services and would use them again.

The two crews that came in the evening (as scheduled) worked extremely hard and fast. They were responsive and professional. Very easy to work with. Everything was moved carefully and located as requested. They even helped me reassemble a large computer cabinet. I highly recommend them and would be pleased to use them again.

Excellent. They were fast, efficient, and did a great job wrapping items. This move was due to a renovation and although they weren't cheap, when I move back, I'll be using them again.

Easy to arrange. Confirmation call day before the move. Confirmation call day of the move. Extra service (bed disassembly) without complaint. Movers were very polite and very careful. After finishing, they discovered a set of shelves for an antique secretary that had gotten mixed up in the moving pads and left them near the front door. Recommend highly.

They arrived as I was informed, and finished moving job quickly, no wasting time. It was very efficient & smooth. 3 guys handled my moving, and the one of them explained me the process and policies clearly and professionally. Excellent job done. Highly recommended to everyone.

The move was excellent....They worked very quickly until the job was done..they were prompt, quick and they were very friendly. I have done moves all all over the world for the last 30 yrs and I have to say this was one of the best moving companies I have ever had... I am the type of person that I do my research of any service on the internet so I encourage anyone to do your homework first.. read the reviews and prices.. I guarantee between bad service and prices, G&J Moving is a rare find. There are many bad moving companies in the DC area and Im so glad I have found G&J moving.. I plan to use them again on my next move!!!

After combing through the reviews on Angie?s List I decided to try out G & J Moving. If you are in the Greater Washington, DC locale, I would seriously consider hiring this company for your move. Throughout the entire moving process, I found G& J Moving quite professional. Initially when I called to schedule an appointment I had to leave a voice mail, but within 20 minutes I got a call back from Jeff K. from G&J. He was professional and wasted no time in explaining G&J?s services and moving fees. I was surprised to find that G&J actually worked on Sundays which was very helpful in getting me out of my apartment just in time before my move out date. The movers (Stan, Alex, and Andrew) were prompt and the team leader, Stan called me about 30 minutes before they arrived at my apartment. The three movers immediately set to work carefully wrapping my furniture with padding and tape. They were very careful in bringing our furniture into our new home, which was entirely freshly painted. They did not bang any of the walls with my possessions despite the weight of a sectional couch with sleeper and other heavy and bulky furniture. They also carried heavy furniture up to the second level without incident. The movers also asked where we wanted each piece of furniture arranged and carefully moved our furnishings precisely where we wanted the pieces placed. The move was quick and completed in about three hours. I was entirely happy with the move, the movers and G&J moving management. The following day after our move, Jeff requested feedback from me asking for my opinion on the move. The bottom line- if you are looking for a moving outfit to take the edge off of your move, complete with responsive customer service and thoughtful, careful movers, then I think you can?t go wrong with G&J Moving.

We'll make this as short as possible: if you are moving, use G&J. My wife and I have moved a few times in the DC metro area and have used other moving companies (with varying degrees of satisfaction) in the area; we've also both moved around a dozen times around the country. We were especially nervous about the experience that we would have because, unlike prior moves that were more straightforward, we were moving a lot of boxes and a handful of heavy/fragile furniture items down a 3rd floor condo and into a new house (which at the time of the move required the use of a rear entrance); we also had stuff in a nearby storage unit that required a pitstop. The 3-man crew from G&J (led by a fellow named Nick) put the other companies we've dealt with to shame. Very professional, very courteous, and very helpful all around. The move was a success, and we were actually left a bit shell shocked by how painless the move went for us. Though we're not planning another move for at least another 5-10 years, we'd definitely use them again and would highly recommend them to anyone needing a great moving team.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it turned out fine. They were very polite and they were good. I would recommend them.

I highly recommend this moving company. We had a three-stage move--one to move items out of our house and into storage so we could stage our house for sale, one to move and store the majority of our belongings, and one to move a subset of furniture, clothing, and artwork that we needed at our temporary residence while construction of our new home completed. We used three different movers and by far this company was the best. They had an excellent price and more importantly excellent service. We had a three person crew and they worked incredibly hard from start to finish. They were head and shoulders above the efficiency of our other movers. They did not take any breaks and were literally running up and down our stairs with very heavy furniture. They were careful with our furniture and highly professional. I recommended them to my sister who is using them at the end of October for her move.

I had two guys who really busted their butts for us. We needed they move on a Friday afternoon, and they had a job beforehand, so they were really just squeezing us in, but they did a good job, and worked hard. I would definitely recommend them, and would hire them again.

The crew was professional, worked hard, and after unpacking we found all of our belongings arrived in tip top condition. PLUS on both of my moves, they were able to navigate a skinny DC alley and pull a 16 foot truck into a small parking pad. I hope I will not be moving again any time soon, but if I do, I will call on G & J again - they really are great!

They were absolutely wonderful. I would highly recommend them. They were prompt, professional and went above and beyond what they had to do. I have used them twice and will definitely use them in the future.

After a little bit of trouble scheduling (there was some missed paperwork and we didn't get our first choice for date/time) every interaction we had with these guys were great. They worked diligently, explained everything to us, were quick, did a fantastic job. We would definitely use them again.

Punctual and professional. The move to the apartment was difficult since items had to be hauled up two flights of stairs. They did a great job and we would use them again.

The service was excellent. The lead mover was respectful, polite, and consciencious to the very details of the move. He was also concscientious about advice on cost savings for certain pieces of furniture. I would recommend this group to anyone.

The movers arrived at 9:15am (was told between 8 and 10) and I walked the head guy around my apartment to show him what needed to be moved. He was surprised at how little he had to move (it was just furniture, no boxes). Immediately he and his other 2 guys started wrapping and moving my furniture. It took a little over an hour to disassemble and pack up my furniture. After this the guys in the truck followed me to my new place. They again were surprised at how close my apartment was to the parking lot. They started bringing in my furniture and had a little trouble with my couch but eventually got it in. The head guy even offered to install more bed supports that I bought prior to the move. Everything was assembled in my new place at 12:15pm. I was very happy at the end of my move because it only took the 3 hours which was part of the angie's list deal and I only found one scratch in one of my kitchen chairs and the guys apologized but didnt know how it happened. I would definitely use G&J movers again in the future.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was good. They were quick and professional. The only problem was that I felt they were so rushed that I actually didn't realize that some of my furniture got a little damaged. It was only after they left that I saw it. They turned some big items on the side so the edges got squished. It was compressed wood and I can see where it definitely got damaged. I paid a little extra for some rolls of tape. They were definitely late. I would probably use them again if I wasn't moving really valuable stuff.
