My receiver was working but had no sound. Bill called me a couple of hours after I dropped it off. He said that while he was working on it he had a recollection that the company had recognized that this was caused by a problem with their HDMI boards and was offering a free repair for the problem. When I picked it up, Bill said "No charge because I didn't do anything." I finally got him to accept a $20 tip. How responsive, honest and professional can you get!?! Highly recommended.

I'm unable to leave my home, and I called them to see if they could repair the crack. They advised me it was a better idea to just buy a new one, because repairing the screen was so expensive. They didn't even charge me for the phone call, and I will trust them with any further repair I need done to my TV and electronics. Their response was very personable, very education, and very honest.

Bill Davis of Oakton Electronics and Television came to my home to test a water-damaged TV and some computer equipment. Bill was helpful, friendly and easy to work with. I really appreciated his honest and straightforward advice about what to do next. I will definitely call Bill again for future services.

TV did not turn off. No iiuse found

He was very honest - he said that it wasn't worth bringing the TV in; it'd cost just as much to buy a new one. We appreciated his straightforwardness. We'd use him in the future since he was so up front.

What wonderful service! He was honest and even though the TV was beyond repair, he told us he would dispose of it for us.
I really cannot remember what his fee was but it was reasonable. He has integrity and is an and quot;old schooland quot; sense of quality service and customer service. I would use him again in a heartbeat!

Called and reached Bill on first attempt. Discussed TV issues (TV was totally dead). Made arrangements to drop off TV for Service that same day. Delivered TV to his shop that evening. Received estimate of one to two days to respond with diagnosis and repair estimate.
He called back at noon the next day with a detailed description of the issues and an estimate to repair. Repairs completed that afternoon, and TV ready for Pickup exactly 24 hours after drop off.
TV was on and working like new when picked up. Price was exactly as estimated.

Dropped off my sporadically-working tv for daignosis. Got a call back later that day confirming that the power board was faulty and quoting a price to repair. I authorized and the tv was ready the following day. Highly recommended!
Note that the shop is located behind a home in a residential neighborhood, so don't be thrown off by the address like I was!

Everything I need to say is in item #1 above. It was a first-class experience.

My big heavy 55 inch rear projection TV picture started to turn purple in the middle. I wanted to find out if the tv was worth fixing. I called a few repair shops which just gave me the basic cost to pick up the tv and diagnose the problem. What do you want for free? When I called Oakton he knew what was broken when I ave him the symptoms and he told me about how much it would cost, which was as almost as much as a new 55 inch LED tv. This conversation was just so pleasant.

Called about TV issue. Owner very responsive and explained every detail and all the options available.

I called and got the answering machine and received a call back within 2 hours. We arranged for a drop off time that I missed so we scheduled it at my convienence. Dropped off the TV on Sunday and received a call back the next day that it was fixed at the price Given to me at drop off. Great experience

While installing a shelf in my motor home I inadvertently drove a screw right through my TV antenna wire. The wire is installed behind several wall serfaces with only the ends exposed so replacing it would have been a monumental job and not feasible. There was enough slack in the wire to cut off the end and just replace the fitting. I called Oakton Electronics and TV at 1:45 PM and made arrangements to take the motor home to him. Got there at 2 PM and he had it fixed by 2:10. This man knows what he is doing and knows the meaning of fairness. No estimate was requested or provided as we both knew the job would be small. He provided the new cable fitting and also gave me a short extension cable to have if needed. When he was done he said and quot;Ten dollars if you have it or if not don't worry about itand quot;. I thought I was back in the 1950s to get that consideration and offer.

The repair consisted of me calling to get a time to take the set into Oakton Electronics to determine the problem. Once that was done I was quoted a price and an approximate date it would be completed. All went according to plan. I was very satisfied.

The technician was very good and knowledgeable. He took care of everything I asked him to do.

My experience with Oakton Electronics And Television was great. I found them through Angie's List. I liked them in general. He did what he was supposed to do. He seemed reliable, competent, and it worked out just how I wanted it to.

He was very honest. He told me this may not fix the problem before the bulb was ordered. He also told me where to take the tv for repair. He was very professional.

He has a lot of knowledge on older products. He took a few days to fix the older receiver I had. He did a great job.

A very good experience. TV was too heavy for me to take it in. Mr. Davis came to my home, picked up the tv, and kept me informed about his progress on the repair. He repaired the tv and delivered it back to me within 3 weeks.

Our 4y.o. 46and quot; LED TV suddenly stopped delivering a picture. Not even the menu would appear when it was selected. It was quite apparent that the TV needed repair. We found Bill, the proprietor of Oakton Electronics and Television, through a simple map search on Google maps. Based on some reviews and consulting Angies list, we decided to give him a shot at fixing our TV.

Before that though, we checked first with Best Buy to make certain we were out of warranty. We were and they advised it would cost at a minimum $150 to have someone come to the house to service the TV. Based on Bills reviews and the seemingly high cost of sending someone to the house, we reasoned that he could do at least as good a job, and probably cheaper. We were right. He beat our expectations by over $100, and his labor charge was less then the Best Buy quote just to get someone to look at the TV.

When we arrived at Bills home, it was obvious he knew what he was doing. His garage is his shop and he had numerous projects going on. Hopefully we won't need his services again, but if you do, don't hesitate. Bill is a nice guy, ready with answers to your questions and did a great job for us. Recommended!
