Description of Work: We had our kitchen remodeled through IKEA and Zee Dee Touch is their chosen local IKEA certified installer. We were skeptical at first as some of the reviews were not as positive as we would have liked. After finding that other contractors were unwilling to install IKEA cabinets, we crossed our fingers and hoped for the best. We were actually very pleased with ZDT. They finished the job in the stated timeline and even the counter installer commented on what a professional job they did with the cabinet installation. We had a couple of very minor hiccups at the end with electrical work, but the owner actually came out that very day to inspect it and corrected the issue for us. Overall we were very pleased. Our kitchen was installed in August of 2014. It's been 16 months and we continue to love our kitchen and admire the work that Zee Dee Touch and their crew did. We would recommend them, and IKEA kitchen products, to anyone considering a kitchen installation.

They did a great job; it was on par with the work they did prior to this. It was just a couple of hundred dollars because it was just an add-on to what they had done previously on some door refinishing, that we had discussed. However, this was some work; they went over and above what we had originally planned to do. When I was getting bids for the big work, for the kitchen and basement remodeling, their prices came back, in some cases, half of what others were quoting. So their pricing was incredibly competitive and the craftsmanship was topnotch. They were very straightforward, there were couple of instances where they could have gone ahead with what we discussed, but they found ways to save us money. They understood exactly what we were looking for and saved us money while doing it. They were the best I have used in Northern Virginia.
Description of Work: I used Zee Dee Touch for some detail follow up work on bathroom refinishing. They did some restoring and refinishing work on our 1940's house, so lot of the hardware is original. They refinished the wood on couple of doors.

It went great! Good price, good quality design, easy communication and delivery of finished product. All around, it was money well spent.
Description of Work: Z came out and made a great Ikea kitchen design for us at the last minute. He turned it around very fast so we could get to Ikea in time for the kitchen cabinet sale.

We are very pleased with the results. We designed the kitchen ourselves, with some help from an IKEA kitchen designer. We initially contracted with Osprey-Bay, IKEA's then kitchen contractor, to come out and do the post purchase measurement and design validation. They were very prompt in coming out and doing that work (said there were no problems), but then we had problems with them right from the start with the proposal and scheduling. We started to look for another contractor to replace Osprey-Bay, and came across Zee-Dee Touch on Angie's List. The owner, Zeljko Damjankovic, was very responsive and came out right away. He walked through the plans and remeasured - good thing, as three of the cabinets were not going to fit, and the plumbing waste line needed to be moved to work with our plan. The price he gave us was in line with the one that we received from Osprey-Bay for the assembly and installation. Zee also gave us a lot of good advice as to how the process was going to work - for example, we were not told by Osprey-Bay that the cabinets needed to be installed on the finished floor, so we wound up changing our plans as a result. When we were ready to have Zee's crew install, they were very professional and diligent. It was amazing to see how fast (and well) they assembled the IKEA cabinets (averaging at and lt; 7 minutes per cabinet). They were able to assemble and install all of the cabinets in one day, and then came back for a couple of hours the next day to make some adjustments and touch up. We're very excited about the cabinets!
Description of Work: Ikea Kitchen Cabinet Assembly and Installation in a townhouse kitchen (9' x 12'). Some custom work was included as well: - Spacers between cabinets - Spacers between wine rack and cabinets to make it look custom built - Modification of cabinets to fit - Customization of open shelving to create a custom island peninsula We did the demo of the previous kitchen, drywall repair and painting ourselves. Flooring, electrical, plumbing and counter tops were done by other contractors.

My husband and I wanted to expand (extra space already finished in house) our 1930's kitchen and decided to save money and buy IKEA cabinets. After reading horrible reviews about the IKEA recommended cabinet installation company, I found Zee Dee Touch via internet search. Unfortunately this company's reputation on Angie's List and Yelp did not accurately predict our satisfaction. After meeting with Zeljko Damjankovic (owner) and receiving his quote, we were happy to move ahead. All went well for the first 2 weeks. His crew worked quickly and were for the most part punctual. Responsiveness and timeliness slowed down a bit when we had to wait a couple times on appliance delivery and granite counter measure/install, but I guess that's to even be expected. Our kitchen was coming along and *looking* good. I did have to pay close attention to Z's crew, at times, and make sure things were being done to my satisfaction. For the most part they did a good job, but tended to be sloppy in certain areas. All of the problems came at the end, or at least we weren't aware of them until the end. Let me say my husband and I are young and had never taken on a large house project like this before. We were too naive (and trusting) to ask pertinent questions like: - and quot; Are you a licensed contractor in the state of Maryland?and quot; - and quot;Do we need a permit?and quot; - and quot;Do you use licensed electricians and plumbers to do your electric and plumbing work?and quot; As it turns out, Zeljko Damjankovic is NOT licensed in Maryland (not according to the research I did near the end of his crew's work), but does seem to be a licensed class C contractor in Virginia, which incidentally does not allow his charges to exceed $10,000 (if my research was accurate). Also, he does NOT used licensed professionals to do the work for his remodels. When we learned this we told him we would have to hire a licensed electrician and plumber to check the work his 'handymen' crew had completed, for accuracy and safety. He got very anxious when I said this to him and basically said his crew was finishedand he wanted the remainder of his money (about 1/3 of the total $18,000). The same day we learned he wasn't using licensed professionals we were able to get a licensed electrician to come to our house. I went around the entire house with him and showed him everything Z's guys had touched. He found that every single thing they did (save one thing) was incorrect. Some mistakes were small, and some were very dangerous. There were junction boxes left behind walls with LIVE wires, many illegal splices, lights installed with no light junction box, fans installed with light boxes and not fan boxes, and screws too short to properly secure them to anything... the list goes on and on. I have photos and detailed records of all of the electrical errors. The plumbing mistakes weren't quite as bad (not as my opportunities to screw up), but the extended gas line, one of the sink's plumbing, the disposal and the gas range venting system all had errors. We've already spent over $3500 to pay licensed professionals to fix Z's crew's mistakes, just so we could make sure it's safe to be in our house and use our kitchen. It's actually not even complete yet. We still need to have part of the backsplash redone (it was sloppily done to begin with and part of it had to be busted through to fix electrical mistakes), a few parts of the wood floor to repair, and cabinets to be adjusted. I don't think what Zeljko did was malicious, but it was negligent, misleading and very irresponsible. I highly recommend you find a licensed contractor who uses licensed and knowledgeable professionals to do his/her electric and plumbing work. This was an experience full of life lessons for us, and if we hadn't held back $8,000 that we owed him (and are now paying to licensed professionals to fix his errors), this would have been even more painful. DO YOUR RESEARCH! Ask questions! I hate to say it, but this was an instance where Angie's List did not help us. Either we're the first clients he's tried to cheat by using inexperienced handymen and raking in the extra profit, and we happened to catch him, or he does this to all of his clients and they just don't ask questions to make sure the work done was accurate and safe.
Description of Work: - Help in designing (basic design already complete, but helped change it a little) our kitchen layout - Assistance in purchasing all needed IKEA cabinets and materials and advice for appliances - Removal of existing cabinets and appliances - Knocked down half wall, opening kitchen to dining room - Installation of new outlets and switches - Installation of new lights and ceiling fans - New locations of sinks and plumbing installation - Moving of existing gas line - Creating venting for gas range to crawl space under house - Removal of large bay window and closing and finishing (inside and outside) of that space - Installation of IKEA cabinets - Moving of existing radiator to new location - Installation of some hardwood flooring where cabinets once were - Back splash tile work - Patch work and prep for painting

We were pleased overall with Z's remodel of our kitchen. The quality of the work was generally good and his crew worked quickly. There were a few lingering details that needed attention at the end (paint touchup, floor transitions, trim work, etc) that took awhile to wrap up. Sometimes it was difficult to get ahold of Z, but he was able to jump into the project with little lead time and even met us to order the materials on a Sunday morning to accommodate our busy schedules.

Absolutely Top Notch. The BEST. Chris and Zeljko are like members of my family. What started out as a quote for an Ikea kitchen install (taking advantage of the summer sale) turned into a transformed home! The best part of working with Zeljko is that he is a man of his word, he gets things done, and makes sure the customer is satisfied. When I decided to take advantage of the Ikea summer kitchen sale, I contacted Zeljko, with whom I immediately built a strong rapport. Kitchen Remodel Zeljko came to my house and walked me through my design, offering expert advice on product, installation, providing a clear chronology of how things would turn out. That weekend, we met at Ikea and he walked me through the Byzantine ordering process at Ikea. He also guided me through the non-Ikea product inventory (granite counters, tile floor, backsplash). The following Monday, him and his crew were standing outside my door at 8am, ready to demo my kitchen. At one point, (like in most bigger projects) we ran into a snafu regarding a proposed kitchen breakfast nook/island with unaccounted for duct work that needed to be moved. After getting an unsatisfactory quote from a prior HVAC company (read: HVAC guy sees that customer is in the middle of a kitchen redo and is desperate for work to get done), Zeljko offered up a friend (NS Heating and A/C) Slavko Nisevic, who offered to move the work quickly and affordably. Zeljko doesn't get flummoxed or discouraged...he's a high energy guy that is always looking for solutions..he continually proved this! As it turned out, I had to leave to go out of town that week. The decision to allow Zeljko and his crew to continue in my absence was an easy one. When I returned a week and a half later, I had a beautiful Ikea kitchen....granite countertops, sleek white Ikea cabinets, all stainless appliances, beautiful new ceramic tile, backsplash, etc... Upon my return, Zeljko and his folks returned and walked me through the whole job, touching up odds and ends that my wife requested (as is normal with any such large job). Basement Finishing Job At the same time that I was shopping for the kitchen, I was also looking for a 'basement specialist' to come in and finish my basement, as well as add a full bath, in my 1940s colonial in Arlingoton....a challenge indeed. After receiving several high quotes and a bunch of discouraging 'can't do's' from other contractors, I finally thought of the obvious..... I asked Chris and Zeljko if they would consider the job. Best decision ever. Zeljko laid out a plan for the plumbing work (again, with friend and 'magician' Slavko Nisevic, drywall, and auxillary work. In short, Zee Dee Touch provided the same expert service, attention to detail, and quality that I came to expect from the kitchen remodeling. They were very patient when my wife and I decided on several occasions to change small details, including hardware choices, install options, etc... The best part of this massive job was that Zeljko quoted a price and he kept his word.....a rarity in this day and age. Exterior Door Refinishing Project Suffice to say, at this point, we were very comfortable using Zee Dee Touch. The wife and I had a little cash left over from our budgeted remodeling, and we decided to tackle the exterior doors to our old colonial....wanted to give our house a little more curb appeal. The conventional wisdom was to go to Home Depot, order some new doors, have HD install, and be done with it. Not so simple.... due to the old door frame dimensions and the fact that a new 4and quot; door frame would look odd on our pre-existing door structure. Zeljko advised us that this was a bad idea and offered to refinish our nice, old wood door for a very reasonable price. His crew quickly stripped down and refinished both entry doors, frames, repainted, and now I have a classic, refurbished look that doesn't just look like a Home Depot cookie-cutter affair. I can't recommend Zee Dee Touch enough for their work. My small kids want to know when 'Mr. Zeljko' is coming back to our house. With Zeljko and Chris, it is not only a business relationship, it is a personal relationship. They care about their work, their customers....and it shows. A++++++++++++
Description of Work: Zee Dee Touch expertly: -designed and installed my new Ikea kitchen (including demo) -completely finished approx. 400 sq ft basement, installing full bath, wall to wall carpet, painting...everything. -refinished antique front entry exterior door, installed new back entry door, as well as a some miscellaneous home projects.

The owner came over after another contractor delayed my job for months. He came and was very courteous and knew exactly what I wanted to do. We agreed on a price and the team was out in days to start the process. The only snag was the countertops were backordered and that delayed the installation for about 10 days. This was our fault as we ordered the cabinets and countertops ourselves, so I would not put any blame on Zee-Dee. In fact, they followed up with the countertop company and coordinated directly with them so he could be at the house to finalize the next day. The kitchen is complete and looks great. They went above and beyond the call and I couldn't be happier. It was such a nice experience that I will be asking them to do my basement in a couple months. I trust them and they do great work. Such a find!

Zee's employees are just amazing, I don't know how they do it but they are magicians!! :) I am very happy with Zee Dee Touch and plan to use this company in near future to redo my parents kitchen with IKEA cabinetry of course!! :)
Description of Work: Zee Dee Touch installed new kitchen cabinetry from IKEA in my condo (9ft X 12ft). They also installed and connected my appliances which included a gas stove, dishwasher, sink faucet and garbage disposal. I managed the whole kitchen project myself and Zee was really helpful. He also helped me understand next step in the process. Next time I will leave it to the experts! :) I hired multiple companies to do different aspects of my kitchen remodel. I had one company demo the kitchen, another remove and install new ceramic tiles, another company to lower the half wall between the kitchen and the dining room. And another company to repair walls and paint them. Also, another company to install recessed lights. What I learned from all of this was to just let one company handle the entire process!! In the end, my kitchen is beautiful and everyone loves it!! We get lots of compliments whenever we entertain friends! :)

Our kitchen looks unbelievable. We used ZD to develop a design, and they worked with us to modify it just right, ie a corner cabinet we had selected would have hit the hood above the stove, Z took notice that the door would hit the hood and recommended a different option. We also wanted a slide in range that would need custom work because previously our stand alone range was next to the doorway. Z built us something custom in order for us to have a slide in stove that is no longer exposed on 1 side. Chris and Z managed the whole thing from start to finish, including repairing our wood floor (we used Z's flooring contact - Town and Country) and granite (Ikea's- Idea) installation. We used Ikea cabinets and appliances from somewhere else, they installed everything. We started the process mid April (design) and waited for the Ikea Kitchen Sale which (March 2), and ZD started mid March and finished April 4. It probably would have been sooner, however with patching our wood floor, we had to wait several days for the floor to dry to continue work. Then, again with the counter top, we had to wait around for install after they did the template. Timeline: *Demo: 1 day time lapse: waiting for floor to be done (1 week waiting while no work can be done) *Install cabinets, add recessed lighting: 1 day (no doors yet) time lapse: waiting for countertop (1 week approx) *Approx 2 1/2 more days to finish (doors, drywall, install appliances, etc) We really liked working with Chris. He was personable and professional and did high quality work.

We contacted Zeljko Damjankovic, the owner, knowing he was an IKEA expert, and he quoted us reasonable rates for the work we wanted done. Zeljko helped us make our ideas for the kitchen a reality. His employees were honest, quick, and hard workers. The speed in which they did the job was astounding. Everyone also worked with us to overcome any dilemmas in a very courteous manner, such as how to retrofit all the air vents that had been in walls that were torn down, or when we changed our mind about where we wanted a fan or a ceiling light. It has been a few months now since the renovation was done and we still sit in the room and admire their work. We highly recommend Zee Dee Touch, and we hope to hire him again to finish our basement.
Description of Work: Zee Dee Touch completely renovated our kitchen and the entire main living area of our house, and it looks fabulous! Our house was in its original 1965 condition (think: orange Formica counters, dark brown wood wall paneling, and brown vinyl flooring) when we bought it, and now our neighbors are impressed with how beautiful it looks. We had them tear down the wall between the living room and the kitchen, and also the wall between the kitchen and the dining room. They removed all the kitchen cabinets and the pantry. They added recessed lighting, installed ceiling fans where there had never been any lighting, added pendant lighting, and installed new light switches. They readied the plumbing for the new sink, faucet, and garbage disposal. They installed all the new IKEA cabinets, the new dishwasher, and new gas range. They drywalled over one of the rustic red brick walls, removed all the wood paneling, they removed the flowered wallpaper, and fixed the walls and painted them, leaving them looking brand new. Zeljko Damjankovic, the owner, even oversaw the installation by other companies of the wood floors and the granite countertops. In other words, they ripped out the entire kitchen and basically re-built it in 3 weeks.
