He was cheating many ways by using paint thinner to thin out the paint and left light fixtures undone. My kitchen is a mess and my bathroom has many holes exposed in the walls. I did not want the day worker in my house again and I explained this to him because the day worker did not know what he was doing. My ceiling was very messed up and now my faucet is broke because they were leaning on the faucet. I bought additional paint for this service. They helped themselves in my refrigerator without being asked to. I heard that he was talking about his wife and he was talking about having to rough up his wife to show her who is in charge. He has a very big temper. I offered to buy him a burger from Burger King and he tried to get the whole meal. I paid for his drink and he asked for more and became very irate when I confronted him to pay the difference of the meal that he wanted.
Description of Work: He painted the interior of my home and not very well. He was washing paint and brushes down my sink. He was not taking care of the products.

An excellent job, well done. See comments above.
Description of Work: Removed lead paint, primed and re-painted all exterior woodwork in a 120 year old 4-unit apartment building. Met all safety standards required by local authority. At the end of each day cleaned site for lead paint chips. The owner, Calvin Baker, and his workers were very courtesy to apartment tenants. They performed much extra work with interest and pride, as if the building belonged to them. Close supervision of the job was not required. We received the reference originally by a relative who also had an excellent experience with this company. We had telephone contact with local contractors who have used this company as sub-contractor. We were delighted Calvin Baker and his company and give him our highest recommendation!

No communication with painter at all except for first call about coming over to power wash. He was insistent on painting in temps below 50 degrees and even with it raining claiming he was a professional and knew what he was doing. He had an answer and excuse for everything and refused to abide by our wishes as the property owner. He either couldn't or wouldn't get it that we hired him and not the other way around. He completely painted over two windows on the end of the house but claimed that was also professional because he intended to scrape them. On his final day he went into a tirade about ungrateful people not letting him do his job and trying to tell him how to do his job when I said I wasn't happy with the work. He continued to claim that using Severe Weather paint allowed him to paint in all kinds of weather. He also claimed we were the second house that wouldn't let him do his job. What ensued next was a 2 to 2/12 hour tirade of ranting and calling names as he cleaned up his stuff that had been left laying all over my yard for a week. We paid him for three quarters of a job because that was the point he had gotten to. Windows are still painted over and it will be spring before we will be able to have it all redone. We have no idea what kind of paint is on the house considering we found about a dozen different gallon paint cans left behind. Lesson learned. The next contractor to step on my property will have a detailed contract and any showing up without a call first will mean the job is done and they are done. We have had several small jobs done to the house in the past year or so and NONE of those contractors behaved as abysmally as Quality First Painting. My fault....for the first time I didn't check them first.
Description of Work: They were hired to paint the exterior of the house not including the den addition and not including shutters and exterior doors. Job was to include power washing and scraping and sanding. Paint color and paint brand were agreed upon during initial presentation which seemed to be professional. Straight ranch style with long ladders and scaffolding only needed on lower end.

The painter's first name is Calvin. We hired him because they had a very good presentation but when they went out to do the job, they did not cover any of my things. They put up no barriers so I have dust all over my house. They stepped on my furniture. They also placed the TV on top of delicate pieces of furniture and they did a permanent damage on other furniture in the house. Also, they did not cover my mattresses. I only paid them to get them out of the house.
Description of Work: We hired a painter from Quality First Painting to do the painting job in our home about a year ago.
