Description of Work: Installed approximately 140 feet of leaf guard on existing gutters

Description of Work: I encountered Leaf Filter gutter guards at a local garden show. They offered a free estimate so I scheduled them to come to my home on the following week. Their sales rep showed up promptly and came well prepared to demonstrate the advantages of his product versus the competition. His initial price offer was extremely high but we ultimately came to agreement on a price that was a fraction of his initial proposal. The installers were very professional and appeared to do a through job despite the fact that it was freezing and snowing the entire time. It took longer than their estimate because they had to scrape frozen debris from the inside of gutters. In hindsight it would have been better to do the installation on a warmer day when they could have easily wiped the gutter interiors clean. As a courtesy the service manager arranged for a follow-up inspection to ensure the job was done properly. The service technician did so as scheduled and e-mailed me a summary of his findings including photos of the interior of gutters as I requested. As recommended by another customer, Prior to agreeing to the installation I reviewed the warranty and found it lacking so the sales rep modified the contract to provide the insurance I requested.

Description of Work: Put new gutters on rear and sides of house, plus leaf filters on all new and old gutters after cleaning and sealing. They offer great payment options and we're very friendly and professional when we got our estimate, and not pushy at all. We plan on getting the gutters and filters soon.

Description of Work: The installation team was courteous, professional and on time. Overall, the installation went well but I later did notice and need to fix a few areas where the leaf filter product pushed against and bent up against the roofing material vice being properly installed and tucked under the roofing material. | |Thoughts on the Leaf Filter Product: | |Of note, I live in a 3 year old house with high quality shingles, a steep roof pitch w/ a few dormers, valleys and angles. The house is also surrounded by mature deciduous woods. | |Overall, the leaf filter system works OK, but not great. The inside corner/valley areas of the gutters and the Leaf Filter screen at these areas often get clogged with leaves, pollen dust, other clutter and even a film of roof tar which causes these areas to overflow with water during times of heavy downpours. If the screens in these areas are not totally clean, rest assured water in heavy downpours will flow over the screen and to the ground. As a result, these areas require constant cleaning/maintenance. To remove the tar film that clogs the screens at these areas I use "Purple Power" with a 50/50 water mix and an old tooth brush. This works quick & well. | |I only installed Leaf Filter to the gutter areas on my home that are hard/dangerous to get to. The rest I clean/maintain the old fashion way. With the exception of the corner problem that I mentioned above, the remainder of the guards work OK and require minimal maintenance. | |Do I plan to install the leaf filter system to the rest of my gutters that are easy to access and clean? No, for those places that are easy to access and clean, don't waist your money. | |Best application: For strait and simple roofs with no major valleys/inside corners and where the gutters are difficult to access. | |Guarantee: Read it closely! Leaf Filter guarantees that your gutters will never clog again, and I suspect they are correct in saying this; however, they do not guarantee that the Leaf Filter system installed over your gutters won't clog. And they can't guarantee that because in certain conditions -- like those mentioned above -- they will. You can count on it. | |In sum: Satisfied but not totally. I have to clean the inside corner areas all the time. Lucky for me, these areas on my house are generally easy and relatively safe to get to. | |I hope this helps w/ your decision to purchase or to not purchase the leaf filter system.

Description of Work: We liked the product even though the price was high. After some reluctance the price came down 2 times. Didn't like the high pressure salesman. Don't know why they go to so much trouble when the product sells itself.
