We are repeat customers, and continue to be very pleased with Jay. When Jay arrived, we had a "punch list" of things to do, and had acquired all of the items we would need. Or, so we thought. Jay jumped right into the list. We started inside the house, and Jay had covers for his boots, to protect our floors. He has done this before, and it is a very considerate, and much appreciated, touch. We started in the bathroom, where one sink was incredibly clogged (wife and daughters have waist-length hair). It wasn't your normal "remove the p-trap, done in 2 minutes" repair, as the hair had gotten past the trap. Jay got them cleaned, and deposited the gooey mess in a plastic pail. He had put plastic down over our wood surfaces, so no gooey mess where it didn't belong. Then, Jay installed two replacement light fixtures that we had purchased. Both were up in about 10 minutes. That would have taken me an hour. Followed by installing brackets to hang blinds in the window over our tub, then some caulking around our shower. Caulking is an item that you don't rush through. Jay worked diligently; he didn't rush the job, but took the time to do that job right, The last inside job was (we thought merely) to tighten the electric outlet by the bathroom sink. The outlet had one of those adapters that turn the regular 2 outlets into 6. When Jay took the 6-outlet cover off, we discovered that the regular outlet it was plugged in to (the one Jay was going to tighten for us) was disintegrating. While I was lamenting how such cheap components (this was obviously the cheapest outlet that could have been used when the house was built), I realized that I didn't have any spare outlets to pop in. No worries, though, because Jay had one on his truck. Turns out, he tries to keep a small inventory of oft-needed parts. We then moved to outside chores, which included cleaning the drain of our slop-sink (more yuck quickly dispensed), and installing some hose hangers. There were 2 items on our list that couldn't be done, and I appreciate that Jay advised against rather than just doing something, as I think a less experienced worker may have done: - we have a ceiling fan with lights, that the lights ceased to work. We thought it was going to be a straightforward fix. Jay pulled off the light fixture from the bottom of the fan, and tested the electric wires. No power there. Rather than pulling the fan apart (which would easily have eaten up the time we had), Jay told us that it would be more cost effective for us to replace the fan, or live without the light feature. So, now it seems that "replace ceiling fan" will be on the to-do list when we next call on Jay.. - We have an outside spigot that wasn't set properly (by a previously-engaged plumber), and was very loose. I had wanted Jay to secure the spigot by using some concrete patch and long screws. Jay advised against that. He said he could do what I planned, but that he didn't think the repair would hold. Instead, he suggested that we acquire a more heavy duty spigot with a wider mount, so that he can do a more permanent fix. All told, everything on our list that could have been accomplished was, in a professional manner. And, we know what we need to acquire for Jay to properly fix the other items. We'll be calling Jay to come back soon, as we have been working on the new "to do" list.

Mr. Trogdon & his helper arrived early and got right to work. They were courteous and efficient. Mr. Trogdon used an electric screwdriver to drill holes and install a flag holder. We had the holder and screws already. Mr. Trogdon and helper used a small electric saw to cut down a small dead tree, about 3-4 inches across, and a dying Crepe Myrtle. The small dead tree was leaning toward the house, so they held it up, in order not to hit the house. We will dispose of the dead wood. The 2 doors' plates were placed so the deadbolts would fit correctly in their slots.

He arrived on time and performed everything asked of him. He was friendly, personable, and helpful.

Professional nice person. Even has boot covers to keep dirt from being trcaked inside the home.

Had to reschedule due to winter storm, ran half hour late on earlier job. Communicated promptly. These things happen. Actual work performed was fine.

I made an appointment with Jay Trogdon of Trogdon Enterprises to install a new front door on my house I recently purchased. He scheduled me about two weeks from my call. At first I thought I would be able to have someone at home to help him, but had to call him back because those plans changed. I told him that I would not be able to physically help him with the job of holding the door (as it is a two person job at some points), and he said that he had someone he could bring, no problem. They came on time and were very friendly, introduced themselves and listened to what I wanted done, and then they started the work right away after I showed them everything. I also asked if they had time I wanted them to install a light in my dining room. Mr. Trogdon said that should be fine. The door installation went smoothly. I had anticipated it might take several hours. Mr. Trogdon's employee (I'm bad with names and can't recall it!) helped with the installation and the timeliness of the endeavor. They were able to remove all of the siding and moulding around the door, the old storm door, and the old wooden (cracked) door, and put in the new one that I had ready. It looks good and is functioning as it should, and he was able to refit the moulding around the new door frame although it was a different size then the taller old frame. Mr. Trogdon communicated with me throughout and asked me if the altered moulding would be okay. He had all of the tools he needed for the project and seemed very prepared. They were both also friendly to my dogs, which is an added bonus. Jay installed my dining room ceiling light perfectly, and very quickly. While he did that, his associate moved the old doors to my shed upon my request. The door and the light were done in just two hours, and I feel he gave me a great deal on the pricing with the added labor that was needed by bringing his buddy. I found them very friendly and likable and will definitely hire them again if I need some handyman help!

He was prompt and finished in a timely manner. I also asked for a quote for other work to be done in my home. He responded with a full professional quote within two days via email. I intend to use his services again.

Arrived on time and quickly got to work after seeing what needed to be done. I was more concerned with getting all the double ceiling trim up than with them doing the finish work due to the 2 hours of labor we purchased. They did a bit of caulking in spots where the ceiling corners werent square and I appreciated that! I will be doing the finish work (filling in holes and painting) myself. They kept the place clean as they went along and we very polite.

Overall, everything went smoothly. He arrived on time and worked efficiently. He also cleared up the work areas after completing tasks. I liked that he explained what he was doing and was responsive to questions and concerns. My wife and I were sufficiently impressed with the work that we asked for and got estimates on future projects.

Before I bought the 2 hour contractor deal, I called Mr. Trogdon to see if he would service my location. He stated he would even though it was an hour away from his location. I bought the deal the same day. He emailed me requesting my information and what I wanted done. I needed him to investigate a plumbing problems I had. We had scheduled once, but it was cancelled due to the weather. After that, everything went downhill. He told me he was too busy or forgot about the appointment. I’ve tried several times to schedule this appointment with him. My disappointment comes because one day he would say he was busy for weeks on end and to schedule on day A. When I confirmed day A, he would go back and give me a day that was for a week he originally stated he was booked. This went on for several emails and texts. After I bought the deal, it seemed like he wasn’t interested in coming to my house to solve my problem, even after I called him to ask if he would service my location. Buyer beware!

Smooth, no major issues found. Professional and very pleasant TV wall bracket was installed as well as a shelf. No issues at all.

the guy /owner (Jay) showed up on time very polite . Did the job and a good job, and was a smooth transaction. He repaired a kitchen floor cabinet where it had leaked. Looks good..

Everything that was installed was done professionally. We did have a slight problem with the garbage disposal leaking the night before Thanksgiving; I called Kareem and he came over that night to fix the problem. I was so happy with what was done and definitely felt I got my money's worth and more. Kareem is certainly a credit to his company. He cleaned up thoroughly after himself and my satisfaction was his goal. I am so glad this company is on Angie's List now that I am a member. I will always use Trogdon for any odd work in my house.

The appointment was set up several weeks in advance. Jay confirmed the appointment 2 days beforehand. Also, we had discussed the work to be done, and what supplies we should be sure to have ready. He showed up a few minutes before the scheduled time on Saturday morning. He was ready to jump right in and start work. The first task was to replace our defective garbage disposal. Jay started quickly (he didn't need much prep time), as he had a well-stocked tool carrier, including his favorite tool: the small power drill / driver. The old disposal was quickly disconnected from the drain pipes, electrical connections undone, and the unit taken out. He then stripped the old sink connection and prepared for the new unit by puttying and putting in the new mount (paying careful attention to the alignment of the lettering. That is a professional touch that I might easily have missed, had he not been so detail-oriented). He also made quick work of mounting the new unit, and connecting the electricity and drain lines, which needed cutting, due to the differences between the connections between the old and new units. He carefully checked for leaks when finished, and came back and checked later, as well. Next up was the replacement of the water line shut-off valves. I showed him the valves I had purchased (Shark Bite). I had chosen these in hopes of saving installation time, but was a bit unsure of my choice. Jay assured me that he had worked with them, and that they were solid units that wouldn't leak. After shutting off the main water to the house, Jay made short work of the installation, with as little water escaping as can be expected in such circumstances. We dried up the escaped water, and checked for leaks, both then and prior to leaving (after things had a chance to dry off more). I had purchased sheet metal screws for the HVAC duct reconnect, but was concerned we would have problems with this task. However, Jay was quickly able to make the reconnect (more solidly than the original installation, which was done without screws to secure the duct in place). After recovering with the insulation and re-taping, the connection was better-than-new. The light switch was quickly replaced, after he made sure the circuit was shut off. Replacing the light bulbs in our high chandelier (we don't have a ladder high enough) went quickly, as did installation of the venetian blinds and towel racks. We hadn't planned the towel rack installation well, as we failed to get the mounting hardware, but had assumed it would be in the package. However, Jay had the anchors and screws needed, so we didn't lose any time on those. There was a small amount of time left, so Jay did some caulking to round it out. In the end, we got all of the big items on our list completed, and there was very little prep / unproductive time during the service call. Jay was very good about moving from one item to the next, and making sure we got the value we were paying for. Also, he was very good about having his brain picked while he worked. All-in-all, I am very satsified with the value of the service provided, and will definitely be calling Jay to schedule another visit, when I have enough to keep him busy for a morning (or a day) of work. Last, but not least (from the wife's point of view), Jay was courteous enough to remove his shoes when he entered the house, as he had run out of "footies" to cover his boots.

I contacted Jay Trogdon to replace windows I had on a rental property. We scheduled a time and a day to meet and look at the project. Mr. Trogdon showed up on time for the appointment. I explained to him that I have purchased the windows already, and just needed him to install them. He had no problem with this, most companies wouldn't install the window if they didn't sell you the window. The day of construction Mr. Trogdon and his team showed up on time and operated organized and neatly. When he proceeded to put in the 3 larger windows in the living room the window opening was slightly smaller than the windows. He explained all this to me and gave me options for him to proceed. Mr. Trogdon made the corrections to the window opening at no extra charge. I was very happy about that part. Mr. Trogdon did an excellent job and I would highly recommend him and his team again.
