This company was simply fantastic. We were on time and very professional. We had a few challenges in finding the correct siding for my house because its not made any more, but they hung in there with me and once I found out where to have it specially made, they picked it up and cut it to order. They did a great job on the exterior painting as well. I will definitely call on them again. They also worked to repair a swollen back door that was having issues and included that in the price of the job. I had paid for 40 hours of exterior painting and they went above and beyond. I could not be happier.

Replaced ceiling fan, replaced garbage disposal, replaced a thermostat and wood underneath the kitchen sink.

Excellent! The young man who came to my house was prompt, very professional and pleasant. He worked efficiently and quickly which was appreciated because the "deal" I purchased was for a specific amount of time. He cleaned up before he left. I was very pleased with this company and the services they provided.

It went fine. Repairman was very friendly and knowledgeable. I sure kept him busy the whole time. Exchanged two light fixtures. Started repair for water damage in bathroom. Replaced outside light bulb that I couldn't reach. Would use again in future.

Awesome! Arrived on time, was friendly and ready to work. I bought an hour handyman time as I wasn't sure how long the uninstallation and installation would take. Turns out I had a lot of left over time and I should have had another small project for him to do!! I was so excited about my microwave I didn't care! I will absolutely use this company again.

Greg, the Trogdon rep arrived on time. He was cordial and friendly. A while back, our kitchen sink faucet leaked and the particle board under the sink had gotten wet and rotted. I purchased a replacement board at Lowe's and had it cut to size but I needed someone to cut the board to fit around the pipes. Greg did an excellent job, painted the board and once it was dry, lined it with shelf paper. I was so pleased that I called Trogdon and asked that Greg return the following week to do some additional work. I appreciate that Jay honored the Big Deal price which had expired a long time before I used it. The Big Deal was two hours for $79 and when Greg returned, I was charged $40 an hour.

Called for an estimate, and Jay came out two days later to scope out the project. I received the quote as promised via email that same evening. I selected Trogdon based on their competitive quote and just my positive personal impression of Jay during the quote process. He was very responsive in answering my questions the day he was here and afterward via email. Rahim did the power washing the first day, and Rahim and Dominique (sp?) did the caulking and painting over a two-week period while dodging the rain. Rahim is just an average power washer (probably because - by his own admission - he doesn?t really like to do it). He is, on the other hand, an excellent painter. Dominique is a rookie painter, but an extremely hard worker. Both were very personable and listened when I made suggestions. Dominique?s lack of experience showed on the first day in both the quantity and quality of his output, but by the last day he was much improved. He showed a genuine willingness to learn and to do things right. Rahim made sure all the painting was completed to my satisfaction. Payment was quick and easy via PayPal/Credit Card once the job was completed. Overall I was pleased with the outcome and will definitely consider Trogdon for future projects.

The service provider was very prompt. He had to come out 2x because initially the parts for the door were damaged. He was able to acertain this quickly and they agreed to carry my remaining time to the follow up visit. The provider was very professional and knowledgable about the task he was there to accomplish. When he came out the second time he was able to install all the hardware in the allotted time. I will definately use them in the future and have already schedule another appointment for them to come out and do additional work.

Went great...hung blinds did a great job, and finished a little early than trimmed some hedges...These guys don't waste time and do a quality job... I will use again...They are worth the money and good value...

I had a great experience with Trogdon, after getting bids to paint the interior of my home for anywhere from $4,000 (not including paint & materials) to $9,000 (including paint & materials) when I saw an Angie's List offer for $1,500 for 40 hours of service from a professional painter, I took it. I painted along with the painter from Trogdon (Rahim) and together we finished just about all of the interior of a two story home in a week...although the pro probably accomplished 2-3X as much as I did in the same amount of time. It was excellent value for my money and I got a lot of valuable painting tips from Rahim along the way. Jay was very straightforward from when he came for the walk through to discuss the work, what materials I'd need to buy and keeping me updated along the way as the work was completed. I really appreciated how Jay helped to give me options for various ways to approach aspects of the work and gave his recommendations for how to proceed. I'm thrilled with the work and I have recommended Trogdon to a few friends. I also got Jay to quote me on getting a few projects done on the exterior done that needed an experienced handyman and the carpenter he sent to do the work did a great job on that as well. I want to start of by saying that Greg did a great job. He was the handyman that was sent to do the work. My complaints are regarding the communication of what would be able to be accomplished during that day. I communicated with the company a couple of times to be as sure as I could be about what services could and could not be done. I expressed interest in knowing what I would need to have there so that the handyman could do their job. My BIG TICKET items were ceiling fans ... I communicated that there were no existing boxes or wiring in the areas that I wanted them installed, and there was no push back. When the handyman arrived, he had no idea what he was going to be doing that day. One of the items on the list was the install of 3 deadbolts on different doors. He had to go to Lowes pretty much as soon as he arrived, because he didn't have what he needed to do that job. I was told that he could not do the ceiling fans, after he looked around the house. (A big disappointment). I ultimately had to pay an electrician to come and put them in. I would not be writing this negative review if someone had simply told me that they would not be able to install them, in an area where there was no existing wiring. As a new home owner, I had no idea ... which is why I asked questions. No one bothered to follow up on that aspect of the job. I was told that the "Day" was for 7 hours. Then that 7 had a trip to Lowes (nearly and hour), and then lunch (half hour). Ultimately, I feel like I got my money's worth for what WAS accomplished .... and Greg was a nice guy, and did what he could from my list. I would not pursue this service again. I could have payed any handyman to do the same work, for the same price or less.

On the evening of 9/19 I received a call that a medical issue came up and asked for me to reschedule to Sunday at 10am. At 9:35 on Sunday the gentleman showed up. I started showing him the specifics. 1) The french door. We could fix that if he had a paddle bit in his truck and if I would go and get a cover for the hole he drilled in the floor. I offered my drill and standard bit so he could drill a smaller hole and fixed that. 2) He looked at the deck and agreed with me that it needed fixing. He wanted to reschedule for another time and wanted me to go to Home Depot or Lowes to pick up the supplies for an extra $10. He also suggested that I pick up a Deck Sealer that he recommended and that I should pick that up because I had to decide a color (that I agreed wtih). 3) He looked at where I wanted the railing and seemed surprised that I wanted it to mount to the concrete in place...he, of course didn't have the tools to do that either. I also did not have a high degree of confidence that he knew how to do that task. He left with a promise to get back with me later that day after talking to the owner and to schedule the job that was suppose to be done that afternoon for either Monday or Tuesday and also he wanted another person to come out there (so now $80/hr) with him with the promise that it would take half the time. As he heads out the door I ask about what we are doing about the railing. He tells me to just measure the distance and buy piping but they can't cut it. I go to Lowes. They do not have the deck sealant. So I call him. At that time he says that I need to go to Home Depot...even though I told him earlier I'm going to Lowes. He also told me he talked to the boss and they "might" be able to get back to me later this week. With the complete lack of professionalism so far I doubted it so asked for him to have the owner call me back. So far I have not heard back. Bottom line, I call professionals when I do want to deal with a project or do not have the tools or expertise myself. I do not expect to have to supply tools, run around town getting supplies, and having to measure and figure out what's needed myself. I also expect that when I give someone a list of what needs doing and they say they are coming to do it, that they are prepared to either do the task or get the materials and then do the tasks. I thought that was what I was buying. Update: In response to doing no work for me, that is correct even though I wish they were prepared to work the four hours they scheduled. I have not received any contact from this provider since my original review.

Went well. Greg knew what he was doing. Even when the unexpected came up, he was able to fix it.

Greg was a pleasure to do business with. He arrived early and completed each task in a professional manner. My only regret is that I did not have more for him to do. His skill and professional manner allowed him to complete the jobs well before the time I had allotted. Jobs were: fixing electrical outlet fixing and adjusting two doors installing towel rack Removing old, broken swag hooks and installing new hooks Hanging a clock securely Rehanging and stabilizing large curtain rod and installing curtain holders Fixing loose door stops

The work while not particularly bad did not meet my expectations. I met with Jay at my home and reviewed the project in great detail, knowing that there was more work than could be done in 40 hours (a total of approximately 127 hours per Jay's estimate). My thought was that if the 40 hours went well I would contract with him to complete the remainder of the work. I opted for two painters at 20 hours each instead of one painter for 40 hours to minimize my time away from work. Based upon Jay's estimate I selected 40 hours of work to be completed. Productivity was an issue as only 55% of the work that was selected was actually completed. Certainly an estimate will not be 100% accurate, but to miss the mark by 45% is clearly unreasonable. Knowing that I was not happy, the Lead Painter called Jay, and he offered to provide an additional 4 hours at his expense. I appreciated this gesture and purchased another 4 hours to have the painter for a whole day. This didn't result in much additional completed work, with the only significant accomplishment being a second coat of paint applied on the upstairs hall trim. Other issues involved incomplete clean up of paint splatter, no prep work on trim that was to have been repaired, a couple of significant "drywall dings" not repaired, etc. Essentially productivity was the major issue where if the percentage of the 40 hour work completed were extrapolated and applied to the entire job it would result in a total cost of about $9000.00, which is $3000.00 more than what two other painting contractors quoted.

I left him message because I purchased the Angie's list deal but he never returned my call. I need to get my money back from Angie's list. I he'd to enter a fake date on the review because I couldn't submit without a date of service

I needed help with cutting and installing crown molding in my living room and part of the kitchen. I tried it myself first but I could not get it right so I researched Angie's list and found Trogdon Enterprises. They had good reviews so I purchased the big deal - Contractor for a day for $299. The contractor arrived on time and introduced himself as Greg. I explained what I wanted done and had all the materials ready. Greg started setting up right away and started cutting the molding. At first, the angles were not fitting right for the contractor either. Then we realized the ceiling and walls were off slightly off due to the house settling over the years. Greg did additional work of fastening part of the ceiling to the frame of the house (the ceiling drywall was loose). Once this was done, the crown molding angles fit perfectly. The job was somewhat of a challenge as I have an older home that I am remodeling and needed someone with carpentry skills. After Greg cut and installed all the molding, he caulked the molding. We are very pleased with the work and glad we found a contractor that had the necessary skills to do the job. Greg asked if everything looked good and if I was satisfied with the work. Greg cleaned up the job site before he left. I would hire Trogdon Enterprises again.

Greg came out and did a wonderful job. He worked quickly and got finished with more work than I originally anticipated. His work was top notch and he had a great attitude. I will definitely be using this company again in the future, and hopefully Greg will be assigned to my job again.
