Plumber arrived on time and was very courteous. The very straight forward drain line was fixed rapidly. Unfortunately, the part needed to repair the waterline was not on his truck. It was hours before the part was delivered. I was pressured toward a repair that would have cost $1000 more. The pressure for a higher $ sale and the long hours (until 8 PM) made it a bit unpleasant.
Description of Work: Replaced a leaking drain line and replaced the T connector at the incoming water pressure tank (well).
The install was in 2011 - and had to be done over because they installed the wrong kind to support my propane system. It took a few days for us to notice this due to the smell down in our basement, but they quickly corrected the issue. Again, this was back in mid-August 2011. The hybrid water heater has worked well and we appreciated their efforts to fix the issue with the wrong kind of hybrid water heater installed, even giving us a good price break. My issue is that the permit was never filed with the town of Leesburg despite their assurances it would be done. We discovered this by accident and reported it to MyPlumber and it took over 6-7 phone calls to finally get someone to call us back. We spoke with multiple people, who took it for action but we never had the courtesy of a call back until (FINALLY) earlier this week. That's just plain poor, especially when we are told the issue would be escalated and resolved. I finally called back and said a big never mind which got a manager to finally call. My problem was never resolved since I told them I would get the permit to the town of Leesburg. Overall, we're happy with the hybrid water heater and would recommend it. We would just prefer to deal with a company that is more customer-service oriented.
Description of Work: Replace a standard water heater with a new hybrid water heater.

My townhouse was build in 1943, however the complex was converted to condos in the 1970's. I was notified by my tenant and also by our management office of excess water usage in the part of the complex where my unit's located. After making an appointment with our facilities manager, he discovered that both the bathtub faucet and one toilet had a leak. I called My Plumber to make an appointment and specified I wanted Ted Williams as he had done work for me several times. As usual, Mr. Williams was on time, greeted me professionally with his usual smile, and asked me to show him the problems. After giving me an estimate, he decided to fix the toilet first since it was simpler. I'd bought a toilet tank valve replacement unit to do the work myself, but after seeing the tank's inside, I agreed with his assessment that everything needed new parts. He told me to return it. When I questioned whether the entire toilet needed to be replaced, he showed me the condition was good so nothing else needed work. When Mr. Williams finished with the toilet, he then assessed the bathtub faucet. Unfortunately, due to the conversions, he had to cut more drywall as the access panel was too small to see everything. At that point, he realized replacing the faucet would be almost impossible without taking down a lot of wall and cutting into a stud. I called our management office and the Facilities Manager came immediately so they could discuss the problem as he knows these units. Unfortunately, as a result of the conversion, even the same model of unit may not be identical. This was my case. After a short discussion and explanation, Mr. Williams thanked the manager and was able to replace a part which stopped the dripping water. As a result of the meeting and being able to replace a small part, Mr. Williams corrected the problem and saved me money. I have recommended My Plumber to others and will continue to use them in both my house and rental property. I look forward to seeing Ted Williams and will continue to ask for him, even if I have to delay the work a few days.
Description of Work: Mr. Ted Williams replaced the entire inside if a toilet tank and replaced a part to fix a dripping bathtub faucet.

Just as the weather heats up, our AC Unit stopped working in May 2013. I was hoping it would be covered under our new home warranty so I called them. The insurance company sent out a local HVAC provider to inspect the unit. After their inspection they said my coil was rusted out and it needed to be replaced. Because of the new refrigerants used and the fact that my compressor would probably stop working next they recommended that I just get a new AC unit inside and out. The HVAC company called in my claim to my insurance company but they denied it. They called it a "pre existing condition" and would not be covered under my warranty. The HVAC company gave me a quote of $7,500 to do all the work. Being this a lot of money I decided to get a second opinion and I called My Plumber Heating and Cooling that night. I remembered my parents used them several years ago to replace a water heater, so I figured I'd give them a call. They sent out a representative the very next day to review my unit. They came up with the same conclusion, the coil was rusted out and it would be best to replace the indoor and outdoor units. The other HVAC representative was a bit pushy and abrasive in his approach. The My Plumber guy did a better job explaining the process and the difference between the make and models they offered...Not to mention their price was better. He also walked me through financing options as we didn't have the cash to pay for this all up front. My Plumber showed up (on time) the next day and the two techs walked me through everything they were going to do, how they were going to do it and how long it would take. They were personable, friendly and easy to talk to. They were respectful of my house, did clean work and finished when they said they would. It's been a couple months and everything still works great. I would recommend My Plumber and I'm glad I called them for a second opinion as I saved a decent amount of money and was able to get financing.

See Above You need to have good negotiation skills. You need to be ready to pay $ to this company for any unsuccessful attempts. I am not sure if this is a regular norm, but in business this does not happen. Even though the problem was fixed, no issues on that. If my wife hadn't negotiated, we would be paying a bill of 500$ + and would have to cancel my 4th July weekend plans!!!!
Description of Work: My kids had blocked the toilet bowl by putting a plastic tooth brush case. After the guy came, he told me that there will be either of the two things: 1 He would try to get the plastic extracted via auger, which would cost 160$+(on negotiation) 2 If this did not work, he would have to pull the seat out and try to get the plastic out that way. cost-342+ (on negotiation) I was fine with that, so he tried the first way, but to fail. Then he asked my permission to do the second way,to which I said OK. My wife asked the cost, to which he said 160$+342= 502$ . We got baffled with this answer. So the guy wanted me to pay for any unsuccessful attempts too. On negotiation and further talking to him he agreed 342$.

I ordered a dishwasher and dishwasher connector from Lowes for my rental property. Once it was delivered, I hired My Plumber to install it. It took three separate visits by My Plumber to get it installed, and it is still not completely installed. 1st Visit: I was not on the property when the plumber arrived as the tenants were there. The plumber called from the property and told me it was missing the connector. I assumed Lowes did not deliver it. I re-ordered the connector from Lowes and rescheduled the plumber to come back out. 2nd Visit: The tenants were not home so I met the plumber at the property. I noticed that Lowes HAD delivered the connector with the dishwasher, it was in the shrink wrap with the dishwasher. If the plumber had only looked a little harder, he would have seen it. So now, I have 2 connectors and a wasted visit - as the plumber should have been able to install during the 1st visit. To make matters more frustrating, the plumber told me I was now missing the drainage hose. I told him 'Lowes said all I needed was this connector hose'. Plumber - 'Usually the drainage hose comes with the dishwasher but I don't see it'. So now I am thinking I am going to have to go out and find a drainage hose and reschedule the plumber for a 3rd visit. But just on a whim, I asked the plumber to turn the dishwasher over and see if the hose was on the bottom. Sure enough, there it was. This is the second time the plumber only needed to look a little harder to find what he initially told me was 'missing'. The plumber installed the dishwasher. 3rd Visit: At this point I think I am done with this. But I get a call from the tenant a few days later. They went to put something in the dishwasher. When they opened the door, the washer came out from the island. The plumber had not secured the dishwasher in the island. I complain to My Plumber, telling them that I thought this would be a straight forward job but at this point want their best plumber out there to get my washer properly installed. The customer service agent was very nice, apologetic, and helpful. The plumber who came out told me I needed someone else to come out to drill holes in the granite to secure the washer. I call my builder friend who tells me another option is to raise the washer. When I call My Plumber and ask them if they can go out to do this option (so I don't need to hire another contractor for more money), they tell me they have never heard of this before. But they will check with management and get back to me within 24 hours. Well that was a week ago and I have still not heard back. So two weeks, lots of my time, 3 plumber visits, and $450 later, I still don't have my dishwasher properly installed. Needless to say, I will never use My Plumber again.

Not good experience. I should write a review basically in line with negotiating price. The price for the service is high and basically I need them to bring it down to reasonable levels. I guess they underestimate the scope of the job which took a very long time because the pipe underneath the sink three times basically each and every time they had to inspect and again and again. Don’t use them.

I called, they scheduled the first visit. When he arrived, he said my AC was frozen. He shut off the unit and left saying he would come back in 18 hours. Next day I called and was told I was on the schedule for 12-6 PM. At 5.30 I called and they said they were short staffed (not my problem, and how does a large company leave an area short staffed in a heat wave before a holiday weekend???). I was very reasonable. They called me at 8.30 PM and said someone was on his way. No one ever came. Next morning I called and asked what happened and they told me that I had cancelled. Totally not true!! The agent said they would transfer to customer service and schedule me as a priority. They transferred me, the next agent said I could not be listed as a priority because I had cancelled the last visit. I became furious and said Bull$#%!!! He began to lecture me about not cussing. I was still angry, but used no other expletive, and he hung up on me!!!!! I was left sitting in the heat with no service and house guests, one of whom is quite ill.
Description of Work: Did not show up, then told me I had cancelled the appointment, which was totally false. Then when I got angry, hung up on me after leaving me waiting without air conditioning and a house full of guests for three days.

Old gas water heater was leaking from the drain valve. It needed replaced. We had one onsite and just need an expert to swap them out. Code required an Expansion tank (we didn't have) and a WSSC inspection. I was surprised at the cost. Afterwards, I felt we should have just gone to Lowe's, bought one from them and had them do the install...felt the price was excessive. Installer was good on the upsale on an instant tankless water heater. He mentioned it several times, but one he pushed the most was ~$4K...no thanks!

I called My Plumber at 8:00 AM and they gave me a time frame for the plumber from noon to 4:00 PM. At about 9:30 AM, a rep called and said a plumber could come early. He arrived a little after !0:00 AM and quickly diagnosed the problem. He had to enlarge the hole in the tile around the control valve in order to get the cartridge out. He replaced the cartridge and cleaned up all the debris from enlarging the hole in the tile. I have used My Plumber for years and they have always fixed my problems quickly and in a professional manner.

The plumber arrived on time and to give us an estimate for a new natural gas water heater. The plumber was professional and knowledgeable. He looked at our existing water heater and plumbing then gave us several options. No pressure sale tactics. The in-house estimate was free. The price was on the high end so we did not buy the water heater from them.

Late on a Saturday afternoon I sent in a request for service using My Plumber's web site. Within minutes, I received a call back from My Plumber asking what kind of problem I was having and that someone would be available Sunday morning to come and check it out. Yes, I said SUNDAY morning. Heck, I would have been happy with Monday. Shortly after 7:00am on Sunday, My Plumber called to let me know that two technicians were on their way and would be there in about 45 minutes, They arrived right on time. Both technicians talked with me to get a good idea of why my heat pump wasn't working. One technician took the outside and the other took the inside. Even after determining that the problem was a blown capacitor in the outside unit, the inside technician still continued to check all areas of the system that could potentially cause a problem. The capacitor was replaced, the system was tested and everything worked fine. Both technicians were very nice, dressed appropriately and wore shoe protectors so they wouldn't track any dirt in the house. Although I always do my research so that I can be somewhat educated on the problem at hand, neither technician talked over my head. They were very straightforward and answered every question I had. I was pleasantly surprised that the final bill was much lower than I had expected.

The plumber also noted that some piping to the drain near the sink was close to breaking and he replaced that. It was a major job and was done within about 6 hours and using very good quality replacement parts. We would go with "My Plumber" again. We used them about 5 years ago for a garbage disposal replacement that required some re-routing of piping, and that was good, so we were pretty sure this would turn out well.

The credit card company did not pay them after they charged my card twice after cancellation. My plumber contacted me to fill out a questionaire about the service which I did.
Description of Work: I do not recommend this company's priory club service that includes plumbing, heating, and AC inspections for a low monthy fee.The first to come was the heating person to perform a list of things on the preprinted sheet of things to be inspected. He was here for over 2 hours and presented me a bill of over $8,000 to get my heating system in good order. It is working fine and was working fine at the time. One of the things on the sheet was to clean my filters which he did not do. I felt this service was not a service but a chance to come into your house and find things that they could fix. I called and cancelled the service but they continued to charge my credit card after I cancelled. I had to write the credit card company and they contacted them and did not honor their charges. They were very lax in cancelling my service.

Very professional, punctual, great communication. I had a leak under my kitchen sink. The plumber said I needed a new garbage disposal. He installed it well, checked the operation, everything was fine. My only complaint is the price. I needed it done and didn't have a chance to shop around for price. They charged $750 for the garbage disposal and labor. It didn't take that long, no complications. I checked around after the fact and found out that I paid almost twice of what others have paid for the same work.

I was pleased with his knowledge of hydronics and of what our system needed to work well. I believe it helped to specify someone who knows hydronics, although plumbers could probably do the work.
Description of Work: Needed our hydronic (circulating hot water) system checked out. Asked for someone experienced in hydronics. Jesse, an HVAC technician, came and surveyed the furnace and hydronic setup and came back the next day with the 4 replacement parts. He knew what he was doing. He also let the water out of each of the return pipes until the water turned from being full of sediment and some air to running clear. The price was fair.

We are fixing up our previous home in order to put it on the market this spring. I noticed that we didn't have hot water and when my husband looked into it he found that we appeared to have no gas. At the time high temperatures were in the 20s, so we needed this fixed pronto. I was a fool (and perhaps a bit tired of dealing with endless estimates from all the other work we've already had done there). I called My Plumber thinking that this would be a simple matter of repairing a gas line. Everything seemed to be going well at first. They traced the problem back to the meter outside and determined that it had been shut off (We DO pay our gas bills!). They turned the gas back on at the meter and went inside to work on the water heater. They were able to get the water heater lit, but recommended replacing it because it was 30 years old. Again, being a fool that day, I just went with them rather than getting estimates. I waited upstairs while they worked in the basement. While I was there I noticed that there appeared to be water damage to the soffit over the stove. So there was another thing for them to look at. The plumbers also tried to get the furnace lit but could not keep it lit so they offered to call in an HVAC person to look at it for another $80. He came out and told me that part of the furnace (also original & over 30 years old) was corroded and the unit should be replaced.so he called in yet another person to give me an estimate. The estimate came with a big push for their "priority service" plan at $20/month. I finally asked him why I would want to buy that when we were planning to sell the house (which he knew because he asked me if we were moving in when he saw them empty house) and the unit would be under warranty until well after we sold it. That shut down that sales pitch. The plumbers also noticed that the shut-off valves for the water for the entire house were leaking. This had apparently been going on for a while since it was obvious that water had been on the floor under them. Yet another job. At some point the plumbers called me downstairs to tell me that they had had to cut out part of the dry wall & framing around the utility closet in order to get the water heater inside it. I was right upstairs. I should have been informed before they did this. After hours of work I went downstairs to see how things were going. The lead plumber happened to be outside but I immediately noticed a huge dent in the front of the water heater. When I asked his apprentice about it he just looked uncomfortable. So I asked the lead plumber when he returned. He said he was going to tell me about it. I guess I just beat him to it. He assured me that the damage wouldn't affect the warranty or the inspection (He was right about that part.), but there was no apology for installing a damaged product for the price of new. (The dent covers about the top 1/3 of the water heater.) I felt that at the very least he should have informed me of the damage BEFORE installing the heater and given me the option of waiting until they could get an undamaged unit there. At the end of the day the plumbers went around and drained all the water from the pipes and toilets so it wouldn't freeze overnight. As they were doing this, the lead plumber said he noticed a leak under the master bathroom sink, so we added this to the list. I don't know how long this leak could have been there since there was absolutely no evidence of water damage to the new wood vanity on that sink. I had to leave the keys with the plumbers so they could continue their work the following day, so I didn't get a chance to see the final result until after they had left. Somehow, despite covering the basement hall with paper, they managed to leave a prominent grease stain on the brand new carpet. When someone from the company called a second time to do a follow-up survey, the only questions asked were: 1) Did anyone explain their priority service to me? (Really: that was the first question.) 2) Would I use them again? When I responded negatively the caller asked why. When I told her about the damaged water heater again there was no apology, simply a reiteration that it wouldn't affect the warranty or inspection. In my particular case, where we're putting the house on the market soon and one of the selling points will be that the water heater is brand new, having it look like someone tossed it through a wall (which I guess in a sense they did) kind of detracts from that feature. My biggest objection is the extremely poor communication about the need to cut the dry wall, the dented water heater and the grease stain. I think the plumber was competent, and the heater passed inspection with no problem. But when I'm just sitting upstairs freezing and doing sudoku on my cell phone there is absolutely no excuse for not informing me of issues. UPDATE: I was contacted almost immediately after my review posted by both the service manager and the customer service manager. After 5 attempts to contact the service manager at the number he gave me, I gave up. I was, however, able to contact the service manager and he apologized several times and told me that this is not how they do business. He offered to replace the water heater, which seemed like a waste to us -- both of my time and of the functional water heater. I asked if there were any alternative and he came back with an offer of $200 which we have accepted.
