They came out after I made the emergency 'no heat' call at 11am. They had many of the same calls because it was a Sunday, but they finally got to me in about 4 hours, respectable! My Tech Don, was both extremely personable and knowledgable, he had my heat working in 20 minutes but needed to come back the next day with the new sensor. He replaced the sensor in another 20 minutes so no complaints whatsoever! The total price also included the emergency call amount of $79, I expected at least double that! Nice surprise!

I?ve read the other reviews here and would like to share my recent experience with My Plumber. I apologize I advance for the length of this review. On the night of November 25, 2014, my fiancé and I noticed that our drain had backed up into the kitchen sink. The following morning, November 26, 2014?the day before Thanksgiving?I called our regular plumber and then our ?backup? plumber; neither had a technician available. So I got out the local phone book, and dialed My Plumber after seeing an ad on the back cover. I was grateful that the company was able to send someone that day, and they handled the dispatch well. The technician arrived on time and was very personable. However, he did everything?all the ?paper?work?via a computer tablet with a badly cracked screen, and it was difficult to decipher anything on it. He quoted me a price for snaking the drain that seemed high (in the area of $450) and with no breakdown provided. But I didn?t feel as if I had a choice about proceeding given that the next day was a holiday. So I agreed. For whatever reason, the technician also told me I could have a free photo inspection of the drain at a later date. The technician seemed to know what he was doing with clearing the drain. However, following that, he told me that there was a hole in our garbage disposal. I started to become uneasy at this point, since I really couldn?t tell if that was true or not. (We hadn?t had any trouble with it.) I didn?t know what I should do, nor how to determine the truth, and asked him how much it would cost to replace the disposal. This time he quoted me a price of over $500. Again, that seemed very high and I said so. He seemed to be trying to ?sell? me at that point, saying that he had the same disposal model in his truck and that his company would give me a 2-year warranty instead of the usual 1 year. He told me that the job would take 10 minutes (which it did), which made me even more uneasy about the high price. Before leaving, the technician told me I would receive a printed receipt in the mail. When I phoned my fiancé afterwards to tell him all this (he?s an automotive tech and also handy with home repairs), he told me that we had really been cheated. (He knew I was having someone clear the drain, but of course the disposal was news to him.) He thought the price on the drain clearing was high, but that the price of the disposal job was ridiculous. He pulled up the website for the Home Depot or Lowe?s (I don?t remember which) and said that the disposal in question cost about $80 retail, and if the guy took 10 minutes to install it, how could the price have been over $500? I told my fiancé that a receipt would be coming in the mail, and we agreed that he would call the company to discuss this once he saw the breakdown of costs. Only that didn?t happen. The ridiculous receipt I received the next week had one figure on it: the total of $946 that I paid the technician. The description on the receipt only said ?Stoppage Kitchen Sink,? ?Garbage Disposal Badger ½ HP Badger 5,? and the cryptic ?Service Premium Plus Option.? I have no idea what that last notation means. So on December 3, I called the company for the first of many times to request an itemized receipt, the disposal warranty, and a callback from someone in authority to discuss the charges and potentially negotiate a partial refund. I have spoken to numerous receptionists throughout the month of December, all of whom have told me (honestly, I believe) that a manager would call me within 48 hours of my first call. No one ever has. My calls subsequent to December 3 have elicited promises from the receptionists that the issue would be elevated to the Service Manager and then to ?top management.? I was reassured at various times that the managers were ?working? on the itemized receipt with the technician who provided the service (which sounded odd to me). I have yet to receive anything, including a callback. In addition, when I explained the situation to each receptionist in turn, at least one of them told me that the disposal cost a lot because ?it isn?t the kind you can get at Home Depot? (wrong!). And when I expressed frustration that it could possibly take so long to get a basic itemization of services, hourly charges, supplies, etc., the same receptionist told me that the technicians didn?t all earn the same hourly rate. What difference should that make to the customer or what he/she is charged as an hourly rate? So to sum up, it is now almost a month after the service call, I?ve called the company at least once a week since then, and have yet to receive a callback, an itemized receipt, or the warranty for the disposal. I see from other reviews that My Plumber apparently monitors Angie?s List reviews at least occasionally. So I will take this opportunity to say that I have prepared a formal written complaint for the Virginia State Attorney General?s Office. That office enforces the Virginia Consumer Protection Act among other statutes; violations of this law can result in not only compensation for the wronged party, but, in some cases, punitive damages as well. I am offering My Plumber one last opportunity for a person in authority to call me with an itemization of charges, an offer of a partial refund, and an apology for the utter disrespect shown to me as a customer. If I don?t receive such a call by close of business on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, I am fully prepared to file my complaint and assist the Attorney General in pursuing a remedy as appropriate.

How to start this... My husband and I are new home owners and a bit clueless (yes, I'm admitting that!). The second day in our new house, we found out around 5pm that we weren't getting any hot water. We called My Plumber and they had someone at our house by 7:00. The people I spoke with on the phone were very polite and kept me updated on the plumber's arrival time. When the plumber got to our house, he inspected our water heater and told us that he can fix it for $175.00, but the flame was going to be too high and it was dangerous to have it like that. He recommended that we get a new water heater. I asked how much it would be and he told us $2,300. As we really couldn't afford that price, I said to just fix it and we can deal with getting a new one later. He fixed the problem and then showed me how high the flame would be and stated again that it was dangerous to have it like that. I asked again if there was anything else to do and he said just get a new water heater. So, we ended up doing that. Now, again, we were working on about 4 hours sleep in the previous 36 hours and not thinking all that well. I didn't think to ask for a cheaper model or just go to Lowe's to buy one and use their free installation BUT, as much as My Plumber wanted to sell us a hot water heater, they should have showed us all of our options. Even though we didn't know or think about inquiring about other options, I feel as though we were taken advantage of (and still not recovered from paying that price!). On the positive side, the plubmer was nice and he kept the area clean. He didn't charge us for the initital repair he made to our old heater. I just can't shake the bad feeling that I still have about spending all of that money when everyone I talk to says we shouldn't have spent more than $800-$1,000 for a new hot water heater.

My Plumber was called for no heat. They called to say they were running 45 minutes late. It was over an hour before "Dale" got here. After an initial inspection of our unit he stated that the pilot assembly would need replacement and that we had a dirty blower assembly. Dale informed me that to replace the pilot assembly it would be 507.00 and then another 500.00 to clean the motor assembly, but he wanted to check the heat ex-changer. He went to his van to get a scope to do that. After his inspection he said the total repair would be $2588.50. I asked him if the pilot assembly was replaced would the heat come back on he said yes. To which I said I wanted just replace the assembly. He told me he would not do that and that I would have to have all the work on the estimate completed. What a racket. I paid the trip fee and sent him on his merry way. Never calling them again.

They provided and estimate for the plumbing work for $1500. I found another plumber on Angie's List and they did it all for $280. For the furnace, service was scheduled on a Friday between 12-6pm; they called at 5:45pm to tell me they were still on another job and were running late so I rescheduled for Monday 7:30-830am and I was be first on the list of calls. On Sunday, they called to tell me they could come over in 15 minutes but I wasn't home to respond. On Monday no one showed up by 8:30am so I went to work. At 9:30am, they called to tell me the technician was at my door, apologized and asked if I would I like to reschedule. I said no and told them I was not happy with their pricing or scheduling. The dispatcher was nice and said she make management aware of the situation, but it is unlikely I will use their services again.

My Plumber responded to what appeared to be a minor plumbing issue very quickly. Wayne F. arrived within two hours of my call. He was upbeat, knowledgable and courteous throughout his visit. I was hoping for a minor repair, but thankfully Wayne looked more deeply into a dripping sink and found that the water pressure to our house was well beyond normal pressure. Unfortunately we had to replace the pressure relief valve -- BUT -- excessive water pressure in the house would surely have led to other issues and probably significant damage. He was efficient and left his work areas completely clean. I would not hesitate to call My Plumber again and would specifically ask for Wayne if that would be possible

My overall experience with them was very unsatisfactory. They said they could come between 10:00am and 2:00pm the next day. At 1:00 pm they called to tell me they were running ?a little late?. That was the last time they initiated any contact with me. At 6:30pm, when I called, they said I was next and they would still be coming. At 8:30pm, I called them again and they said they couldn?t come until first thing the next day. I didn?t drop them at that point because I didn?t think I could get anyone else any sooner. When the plumber arrived at 1:00pm it was threatening rain (but not raining) and he said he wanted to come back later. After pleading with him and showing him weather radar that showed no rain in the area he reluctantly agreed to snake the line. He finished before it rained. Since this was only a temporary fix I agreed to have them come back to uncover the line and clean out the remaining roots. I liked the fact that they were going to hand dig and not tear up my yard with a machine. I was surprised when only 1 person showed up. This was at best a two man job. After six hours of digging for 30 minutes and resting for 30 the exhausted tech discovered that My Plumber had not correctly marked the location of the pipe and he had been digging the trench at the wrong place. He came back the next morning and started digging in the right spot. At around 1:00pm he was finally joined by a second tech and by mid-afternoon of day 2 they finally uncovered the pipe. They did clean out the roots and finally finished about 6:00pm on day 2. A week later I had a foot deep hole where the fill over the trench had settled. I will not be using them again.

After doing our annual draining of our hot water heater, we were unable to reignite our pilot. My Plumber installed the tank back in 2010, so we still have a warranty. We immediately called My Plumber. It was a Sunday (8/31) around 4pm (their hours are 7a-7p). The call went to voicemail. The message said that "due to inclement weather the office is closed". What inclement weather?? It wasnt snowing just a few thunderstorms in the area. This was just the beginning of our frustration. First thing Monday morning (8am, Labor Day), we began calling them again. This time we actually spoke to the answering service, who said that they were going to page the dispatcher and someone would call back in 45min-1hr. We were encouraged that even on Labor Day someone answered the phone. Well, we NEVER got a call back with an hour. We proceeded to call back again and again. Each time, the answering service was shocked that no one had called us back and said this never happens and they would page the dispatcher again. SIX phone calls later, we still hadn't received a call back. We totally understood that it was a holiday and service may not be available. We just wanted someone to contact us to tell us that a technician wouldn't be available on the holiday. Finally, at about 2pm we finally had a lady call us back and said that a technician would not be available until Tuesday between 7-11am. Great, now at least we know they cant come until the next day and we can move on with our life. First thing Tuesday morning, we got a call from My Plumber. We were excited cause we thought this was the phone call saying when the technician was coming to the house. Instead, this was a phone call asking us what needed servicing and to collect contact info. We said that we already have an appt set up and all the info should be in the system. Obviously My Plumber has a communication issue. No one appears to communicate. And they do not type data into a computer system. If it wasnt for the fact that this hot water heater was under warrenty.....WE WOULD NEVER DEAL WITH MY PLUMBER AGAIN!!!

After removing the top from the tank, he stated, "I can make this like new by replacing these two rusty screws in the tank." When I inquired about the price---he used his technologically sophisticated tablet to inform me $432. When the services were declined, he told me he would call his boss for consideration---this required an antiquated trip to his vehicle (no cell phone here in my presence). When he returned, he explained that he could perform the service for $306. Great discount!!! I can purchase the parts from Lowe's for $5... or I can have a NEW toilet installed by Lowe's for $250----$100 for the toilet and $150 for install. Maybe someone from My Plumber should contact Lowe's and search ways to reduce their overhead... or maybe I should get a magnetic sign and a pair of overalls... since I was charged $79.50 for 8 minutes of work----equating to $540 an hr... I could quit my day job.
Description of Work: Arrived --after 2nd scheduled appt---first appt five days earlier was a no show/ no call. Spent 4 minutes removing the top from the toilet tank and called me to look at the rusty screws in the bottom.

My Plumber has a flat rate for snaking a drain that includes video taping and a warranty. The flat rate was seemed high ($415) but other plumbers had tried and in included the video taping so I paid in advance. The plumber decided to use the floor drain for access even after I said other plumbers were unsuccessful that way. After working for about 20 minutes, he also could not get through, said the snake hit mud and I had a collapsed pipe. However, later when another plumber video taping did use the basement sink drain and he successfully video taped the whole pipe. He, however, recommended jet cleaning for about $1700 (one thousand seven hundred). I did not sign a contract for this and after a day or so realized I had paid for snaking and still didn't have the original contract done. I made many calls to the company requesting the original contract be completed (snake the drain in the basement floor). Today another plumber came and when he was going to try the floor drain, I recommended using the drain under the basement sink. (These two accesses are less the six feet apart). He felt he could use the floor drain but was unsuccessful again. When I insisted on using the drain the camera went through, he said he could but it was an additional charge since the first plumbers used the floor drain. I did get a contract and there is NO discussion on which access. I feel if either one had tried to snake with the same access as the camera (per my suggestion), I would have at least a slightly faster flowing drain. Otherwise, all I got was a $415 video taping. It appears, if incorrectly or not, that they were trying to find a way to get more money from me. After all the calls and stress I have gone through, I can highly suggest if you need a plumber, use someone else. I did feel strongly enough about this that I filed a complaint with the BBB.

I received a phone call from a My Plumber representative one evening last week. She was selling their inspection service. She said the $49 cost of the comprehensive inspection of my home's plumbing would be deducted from the cost of any work that needed to be done. I told her that I wasn't experiencing any plumbing problems other than a slightly slower than usual drain in my kitchen sink. She said they would find out what was wrong. I had had the same problem in my bathroom sink drain a few years ago and so I had an expectation of what the cost of clearing the drain would be. Two plumbers arrived at 8:15 for an 8:00 appointment this morning. They briefly ran the water in the kitchen sink that had the intermittent slow draining issue. That was the only issue I had mentioned in the conversation I had with the telephone solicitor/scheduler who had called me last week. They conducted a perfunctory inspection of the bathroom sink/toilet, water pressure outside and the element in my hot water heater. All this, no doubt, to find some other way to sell one of their overpriced products or services. Less than 20 minutes after arriving, they got around to telling me that clearing the drain in the kitchen sink would cost close to $500... far above the cost I expected based on similar work done a few years ago. I paid the $49 for their 15 minutes of checking around. That's the equivalent of $196 an hour. I asked that they let the office know I do not want them to call me again to solicit my business. I then called two other plumbers from Angie's list and asked the cost of clearing a kitchen drain. Both of them offered a price that was at least half of what My Plumber quoted and more in line with what I expected from the last time I paid for the same work. I had not called My Plumber, they called my home telephone number. In light of the fact that they charge an inflated price for work that other plumbers do at a reasonable cost, it is even more inappropriate for them to be solicit that overpriced service by calling people at home in the evening with news of their "special." There is nothing "special" about overcharging people. But the most telling indicator of how very little this business cares about good customer service is that, when I called the scheduler back to let her know I did not wish to be contacted by their sales people ever again, she didn't sound surprised and she didn't ask "why?" That surprised me almost as much as did the plumber's off-the-chart price quote. I would never recommend My Plumber to anyone. In fact, I will strongly advise anyone I personally know to immediately end any call they receive from My Plumbers sales team. There are many good plumbers in our area doing honest work at a fair price. My Plumber is not one of them.

Overall, I am very pleased with the Bryant systems that I had installed. I did negotiate a discount with purchase of 2 units, but may have paid a little too much but I didn't want to (or have time to) get multiple quotes. The salesman and installers were very nice and professional, however, upon further inspection, the intake to one of my heaters was not installed properly and a bunch of small debris was left behind. A quick call to the salesman had the problems fixed in a matter of days. I would definitely contact My Plumber for future work if/when needed.

Lousy DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They work on FIXED PRICES FOR JOBS and THEIR FIXED PRICES ARE 4-5 times higher than Time and Material priced firms They wanted to charge me 485 dollars for this water header CLEANING --- When we called them we did not know why the heater pilot would not start - we looked at everything so we called . they said it would be 76 dollar service fee - OK - he came and then said that he needed to clean it out (found soot on the air vent) -- took 1/2 hour or so - no parts - the bill was presented as 478 dollars - I almost fell over --- called their management - "our prices are not negotiable" --- so finally after yelling, he took it down to 378 dollars (military discount?") BUT IT WAS STILL WAY TOO MUCH given a plumber makes 120 dollars an hour or less. DO NOT USE THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ONLY USE IF THEY WILL DO TIME AND MATERIAL PRICING
Description of Work: Cleaned the water header for 1/2 of time - no parts

After receiving a second and third opinion, I found out that My Plumber had PURPOSELY misdiagnosed my issue in an attempt to charge me nearly $2000 in unneeded repairs! I went with another company and the final bill was only $40. After diagnosing an AC (heat pump) issue they tried to convince me I needed a full freon replacement and flush. I did not agree, so I sought a few new opinions. Then they PURPOSELY disconnected my freon line (inside of unit, not the welded lines) and left it like that. THAT ended up costing me even more money to have someone else diagnose the issue and then tell me the previous tech (my plumber) disconnected it! I will NEVER recommend or use My Plumber for ANYTHING ever again!

I called them and set up an appointment (more like a window of time). I called multiple times to find out when they'd come or to narrow the window. Of course, I was the last customer of the day and he arrived promptly and the very end of the promised appointment window. (Technically he showed up on time!) Anyway, he was very polite and wore slippers in the house to prevent from soiling the floors. I walked him through what I wanted done - replace some very old ball valves and an outdoor spigot. About 10 mins later, he offered me a quote (with an active duty military discount). It was a little higher than what I expected by about $50 but not unreasonable so I went ahead with the work. He was meticulous in his work and verified the quality by testing each repair. He was very nice and asked if there was anything else he could do while he was there. I can confirm that a month later, the work he did was solid and my valves and spigot work great. I would definitely use them again for my plumbing needs.
Description of Work: The company replaced 3 brass ball valves and replaced an outdoor spigot that was leaking.

They did a good job. They did everything that I wanted them to do. So far everything is still working. I thought that the price was a little bit high.

I think that they are very over priced. Once I did my research I realized that they charged me about 2.5 times ehat others usually charge. The work was fine and adequate.

The work did not go well, it was a horrible experience. - The work was started on a Friday, July 22, 2011. Equipment was placed in the middle of the yard and lots of dirt dug up and placed existed lawn. Workers left without discussing plans. We called office and were told that they would start again on Monday, leaving our covered and destroying the grass - The sewer line was in a different location than originally thought requiring part of our front sidewalk to be dug up and replaced leaving it with a patched look in different colors (new cement and old) - Water was turned off to the house every day with no notification and no agreement on expectations. - A couple of afternoons, workers left with the work undone and no notification - Very little communication during the project and none from the main office - On August 1, work was nearly complete, however entire lawn was destroyed with no hope of the agreed seed/straw doing any good at this time of year. We had no clue that the entire lawn would be destroyed. - We called on numerous occasions to speak to somebody in charge and to discuss the possibility of using sod since the project took so long and so much lawn destroyed. Tony was the project manager but to this day has never spoken to us. - On August 15, a representative named Don visited and agreed that the yard looked terrible agree to use sod, reseal the driveway, pay the invoice to the sprinkler company to locate sprinkler shut off valve, and reimburse us for lost plants. We were happy and had a change of heart toward the company. None of that happened once Don talked to Tony. - My Plumber was going to put down sod, however, after we talked with landscape companies, we were told that mid Aug was not a good time, we asked that they wait till Sept or Oct and use a landscape company. Tony did not agree, wanted to do it now. We offered to do it ourselves and take the money it would cost us off the balance due on the bill, this was agreed to on 8/29/11 and we settled with My Plumber. - On, Friday, Sept 9, 2011, after several days of rain, the area that was dug up in front yard sunk significantly and our nightmare began again. We called and were told that My Plumber would fix it on Tues. - We called on Tues to see what time they were coming, was told that it wasn't scheduled, called back later that day, and it was scheduled but Tony was waiting on ground to dry out. - Called on Thurs, 9/15, Debbie said that she would page Tony and have Tony call us. - Called on Fri 9/16, left message for Don, called later, Susan said, if doesn't rain, they will be there on Mon, 9/19 - Called Mon, 9/19, Shannon said that they are still coming - Called Mon, 9/19 later, they will be there tonight or for sure in morning on 9/20 - 9/20 it rained, called, talked to Susan, it depends on the weather, will check with dispatcher, can't do it in rain, so scheduled for Monday, 9/26 and that she will fill out a form and have a manager call me. - 9/26 no show and no notification, no call from manager - called 9/27 - talked to Lindsay, scheduled for today, will call if don't make it, can see that this has gone on a long time, will page Tony and have him call you. - called 9/28, Susan said that they will be here from noon to 1pm, talked to Susan again and we were told that the contractor let My Plumber down, Tony would be back in morning, can't do anything without Tony - 9/30, the contractor showed up and fixed the sunken area. Meanwhile, we were held up for a month in getting some landscaping done and putting in the sod, while waiting for this sunken area to get fixed. - Never a call from management
Description of Work: Replaced sewer line from front of house to street due to a bend in the line that held sewage. This is referring to My Plumber located at 9975 Pennsylvania Ave, Manassas, VA 20110. I believe that they are all owned by same person (s). This event occurred during the summer of 2011 but we just joined Angie's List and wanted to report our experience.

Three years ago we replaced sewer line in front of your house to your street due to a bend in your line that held sewage. The job turned out to be much more extensive than originally anticipated. We do not have x-ray vision and you had an enormous problem!! We did not charge you extra to perform this additional work. Your yard was largely made up of Shale...rock. The area that we needed to dig to perform the work to fix the problem, caused your cement to break and your yard to be extremely hard to work in. We fixed your problem line. Tony even spoke with your husband when he was on the job!! We repaired your concrete and had landscapers come out and lay sod. I really don't understand how you feel we didn't take care of you, or communicate with you as three years later - all remember talking to you both and working with you. We really tried to show Care and from the string of notes that I have access to, I see that we did Care. We still Care about you.

It was super expensive and they had to come back several times. We had this provider put in a water heater too. That turned out to be a disaster, the "overhead water pressure valve" (I don't know what it's called) developed a pin hole leak in it. The manufacturers warranty was still good, but no one from the company told me that. In fact all the told me was to shunt the water directly into the water heater tank.
Description of Work: This provider recharged the freon in my a/c.
