This company is horrible. It shouldn't even be a company as by definition you expect the word "professional" to be contained in at least some aspect of it. The owner, Frank Jolliff, is rude, belligerent and brings his 6 year old child with him for the client to essentially babysit, thinking it's ok to let him run in, out and around a clients house. I did my best to be kind and have my daughter play with the little boy but for 8 hours?? Seriously?? Get a sitter! Originally contracted with company in November of 2011 for the December Holiday season. Purchased about $3000 in icicle lights for the roof line and a 40" wreath to hang on our balcony. I supplied the rest. Everything was about $5500 with labor to NorthernVolts. The icicle lights never worked properly, kept going on and off and were just an embarrassment. The wreath lights went out, and two fuses kept blowing over and over. The awful icicle lights were purchased through NorthernVOLTS from Holiday Light Brights and when I insisted on returning them I was told the only thing we could do was exchange them and get a credit for the new light installation the next year (2012). Apparently it was a manufacturer defect so fine, I agreed to the credit and to give Frank one more year. Before take down in 2011, I paid to have all my holiday lighting including my three christmas trees stored for the year and this past December my brand new boxes came back to me broken. I was to be charged $1000 for the entire install and take down, with the icicle lights installation being "free". I paid them the first 50% of $500 to get on the schedule for 12/2. They showed up in the morning two hours late, with no call and stayed until well past dinner time with me essentially feeding the owners six year son snacks and pizza in my kitchen as the workers finished. It took them 4 days spaced over a week to do what I've had other companies do in 6 hours. Our large wreath had somehow become "broken" in storage and another needed to be ordered and the owner would not finish the other work until the wreath came in. As it turns out, he was at the mercy of his workers "other day jobs" putting me at the mercy of whenever the h*** they could get their act together to come work. The workers put together our large 11ft Christmas tree incorrectly despite the instructions written in both English and Spanish and despite the sections of the tree clearly marked with A, B, C, D & E. They jammed A into C and B into E and then D, breaking the connections of my $700 tree purchased just the season before. When I called the owner fuming after 2 hours of my whole family tugging with WD40 and then reassembling the tree, he just said "Oh man". No apology, nothing. Through out the four spaced out days that week I would get very rude texts from the owner who showing up whenever he felt like it would type, "open the garage or we're leaving and I don't know when we'll be back", then other texts "Get out here" and "Where the h*** are you". Very rude and very unprofessional. I was held hostage by his schedule. Frank never had enough extension cords and used all of what i had in the house. They set all the timers incorrectly so the lights would turn and off in sections all over the house. They didn't complete the installation according to the contract and eventually just left. I asked them not to put together my other two christmas trees after what had happened to my 11 foot one but the owner refused to discount the labor cost charged even though those trees were included. They also didn't put the decorations on the front of our driveway monuments as per the contract. When time came to take down the decorations, the owner demanded the final payment before even coming to the house and said I somehow now owed him more than what was in the contract!! His contract specifically states that final payment is due upon completion and no change orders for additional items were ever discussed or completed!!! I sent him an email pointing out the T's and C's of his contract and have never heard back. I've since called another company who came today and took everything down and packed it away in under 2 hours. I think the owner was in a serious debt situation and grasping for whatever amount he could wrestle out of me. Horrible, horrible experience. Hope to never have anything to do with this company again.
