The workers arrived on time on installation day (early morning) and immediately fanned out and started digging. Everything was in the ground and working (somewhat) by the end of the day. The crew encountered a water flow problem and assumed that it was a low water pressure area. After speaking with our sales rep and the crew supervisor, it was decided that additional zones would be needed to reduce the number of sprinkler heads being engaged at any one time. This increased the number of zones from 8 to 12, and the number of sprinkler heads in each zone from 5-6 to 3-4. This appeared to correct the issue, and the system appeared to work as expected.
The following morning we realized the low water pressure issue had not been correctly identified and addressed -- while the irrigation system was running, we had almost zero water pressure inside the house which hindered everything from washing dishes to taking showers. Ronco was back out the next day to try to understand the problem. They even called in a technician from Loudoun Water to test the water pressure. We learned that, although the water *pressure* was fine, the water *flow* was greatly reduced. It wasn't until another whole day of digging around the water meter had gone by that they found a plastic bottle cap had become lodged in one of the pipes/valves which was restricting the water flow. Once that had been removed the system worked perfectly and no other water flow or pressure issues were encountered.
Even though several additional days on site were required, with the requisite man hours included, we were never charged more than what our contract stipulated.

I,and the previous owner of my house, have been a customer of Ronco
since they installed my system over 20 years ago. Over the years, the
service has varied from excellent to bad depending on the tech that they
sent out. However, I had a terrible experience this fall when my
system was winterized. When I set up the appointment with the customer
representative, I told her that a couple of my heads were not working
and asked if they needed to be repaired before the system was
winterized. We discussed a date but she told me that she needed to find
an answer for my question and would call me back in a couple of days to
confirm the appointment based on her answer. I never heard back from
her and in a few weeks called back to schedule an appointment and the
tech arrived to winterize the system (the heads did not have to be
repaired in order for the system to be winterized). I then received the
bill and I was charged for a missed appointment. I left a message on
the company's answering machine stating that I would not pay for the
first appointment for the reasons above. A man called from the company
and he was extremely rude and sarcastic. As a customer for more than 20
years, I got upset. However, the man, whom based on the conversation I
believed to be the owner or manager, starting laughing at me and I
finally used an obscenity and I hung up. I am not proud that I used an
obscenity but I was shocked at the lack of professionalism by the
owner/manager, especially considering that I, and the previous owner,
had been a customer for more than two decades. If all you want is a
decent job at a decent price and you do not care about courteous
service, by all means use Ronco. As for me, I will never use this
company again.

Please see above. The change of service providers was needed because of a minor flood, which had to be taken care of by our plumber, and the fact that the prior provider had been unable, on several occasions, to take care of us in an emergency. We had to change our first date with Ronco at least once, and they were always helpful and understanding of the situation. They made every effort to be as flexible as possible given the time of year (when everyone is closing their systems).

I've used them for years. Their prices are reasonable. They are a little bit of a pain to deal with in terms of punctuality. They don't call to set up appointments; they wait for me to call them. They have a crummy system of dealing with their customers but the work is excellent.

Ronco was the original installer of the sprinkler system over 15 years ago, and this was the first service call I needed to place. They do excellent work at a fair price.

Great. Professional people managing the scheduling, and the tech was outstanding. Did the work as cheaply as possible, covering all the bases, and even offered some advice on improving my yard during drought. Came as recommendation from a friend, and they do great work.

They put in the irrigation system long time ago. They did good work and it's worked very well for me. My overall experience has been excellent. Their price was fair. They weren't the cheapest and weren't the most expensive either. The quality of work was very good. They are very responsive. Their punctuality and professionalism were excellent.

I tried to get ahold of them twice, but they were nowhere to be contacted. I called and left messages and a phone number both times, but both times nobody called back. Their work is excellent and their service is superb -- when you can get them - but their customer service and responsiveness are abysmal.

The contacts that I had with this company have been very satisfactory. I was very happy with how they dealt with the bid. They would always return my phone calls on time and came over when they said they would. The price they gave was very good because I got other quotes from other companies and their bid was the lowest one. Even though it was the lowest one, the company did a good job taking the job seriously and doing a good job with the quote.
