We hired Phoenix Home Services to demolish our ancient deck and build a screened porch, and the end-to-end experience was wonderful. During the initial survey, Clint demonstrated familiarity with local county codes by identifying potential issues that other companies missed. He put together a design overnight and responded to emails and change requests faster than any human should. Their quote was right in the middle of the pack and supported by a detailed statement of work that should satisfy even the most demanding HOA. When construction started, we received weekly detailed task lists from Steve and Brian which made it easy to coordinate the few times we had to be home to support county inspections. The building team and additional contractors were always polite, efficient, and very thorough. We were always comfortable with knowing what was occurring when, and we never felt like corners were cut. The whole project was done in just two weeks (book them in the winter!) and they cleaned everything up thoroughly afterwards. We have no regrets hiring them!

We are extremely pleased with the ultimate result of our elevated, heated screened in porch designed and built by Phoenix Home Services. Although there were a few complications along the way (primarily caused by an outside supplier) the team of Steve, Brian and Clint and crew continued to be responsive, communicative and determined to make sure the final product was top notch. I highly recommend the firm and totally get the feeling they are around for the long haul in the Northern Virginia community.

This is the 3rd project we've hired Phoenix Home Services to do for us - and it won't be the last! Clint and Steve are fantastic to work with. We always feel like they're paying attention to what we want, while also making suggestions based on their years of experience. Clint listened to us through the whole process of creating the initial design and 3D rendering. He did add his thoughts and ideas, but was never pushy, and we're very glad we implemented the ones we did. Clint and Steve kept the lines of communication open and we always knew what was going to happen and when. Apart from the initial project walk through, Steve did an additional walk through for each major parts of the project (wet bar; new stair rails; custom bookcase; and where the new lighting would go). We appreciated these extra measures to make sure we were all on the same page and that we would be happy with the finished product. The basement of our split-foyer house was divided into too many rooms so we wanted to open up the space and add a wet bar. We also had the ceilings replaced and recessed lighting put in. Deyvies is an incredible craftsman, and did a fantastic job with the woodworking, electrical, and plumbing. When they took down the walls, they discovered that the builders had skimped on wall structure and there was no insulation. Deyvies and his crew took the time to frame and insulate the walls properly. We decided on an L-shaped wet bar with a lighter stain for the top and a cherry stain for the base. It's gorgeous and we get so many compliments on it. There wasn't much space for cabinets behind the bar, so Deyvies came up with a great solution of narrower shelving to hold glasses and bottles. It looks so much better than we could have imagined. The custom built bookcase is the highlight of our downstairs reading room on the other side of the basement. After they started the work, we decided to add three windows. Steve quickly scoped out the cost and factored the installation into the plan. We started the project on the first of October of 2019, and it was finished a few weeks before Thanksgiving. What we love about working with Clint, Steve, and the Phoenix Home Services team is their high quality of work, attention to detail, responsiveness, and overall knowledge and experience. They turned a very utilitarian and cold basement into a warm and inviting family room that we love to hang out in.

When Clint and I first met to discuss my vague idea for a project, the thing that struck me was that he listened, and he listened hard. I wasn’t sure of exactly what I was trying to do, so he asked questions and we developed the project together. Being able to see a 3D rendering was very important, because it allowed us to specifically change the vision. From beginning to end, he and his amazing team of professionals kept me informed of what was next and what to expect. There were several city permit/approval hurdles that needed to be overcome, and it was painless for me, since Phoenix managed it all. Steve was an invaluable leader, and is one of the most sensitive, thoughtful, resourceful, and cooperative people I have ever met. The entire team of owners and workers were friendly, respectful, and cognizant of the disruption that the project posed in my day-to-day life. At every stage of the project I was asked if I was happy. At first I wasn’t sure if it was just small talk, but my happiness with the project became the overriding goal of all the effort being made by each of the team. The other thing that I think sets Phoenix apart is the respect that each individual has for each other. They all appreciate each other’s expertise and rely on each other’s opinion without hesitation. The space on my property, which was to contain the project, was extremely limited and held several challenges for the team, but they confronted each with a positive, can-do attitude, which I found inspiring. They did their best to save my landscaping, and cleaned up afterwards better than I could ever have expected. I would highly recommend Phoenix for any home improvement project, and I have already scheduled another project for the spring; this, after having added another project that coincided with the completion of the original plan. I have not had a lot of experience with home improvement teams, but I feel fairly certain that I would be hard-pressed to find another group of such fine professionals.

I recently used Phoenix Home Services to build a large patio under my new deck. I had three estimates for the construction and although Phoenix was a little higher in price, my instinct was telling me Phoenix was the best choice. I'm glad I listened to my instinct because I could not be happier. The sales rep/designer (Clint) was super to work with and helped me with the design, offering his opinions when I asked for help. More importantly he stayed in touch with me throughout out the project to make sure I was happy. The construction crew lead by Brian was simply outstanding. I'm a stickler for crews picking up after themselves, and the Phoenix crew tidied and put away their tools everyday. In fact after using my hose they took the time to roll it back up exactly as they found it. The final product turned out even better than I imagined. When the project was over my yard was free of debris. There was absolutely no frustration with this project; Phoenix made this easy. They delivered EXACTLY what they promised. You might save a few bucks using somebody else, but I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. I'll be using Phoenix Home Services again.

Amazing!!! Phoenix Home Services was the last company I called for an estimate to renovate our Master Bathroom. I had been meeting with contractors for months and was taking my time because there was no rush on our end. Their Designer Clint met with me on the weekend, which I appreciated because we were so busy during the week. He heard everything I said about what we needed, and what type of style we were looking for. A few days later Clint provided me with designs of *exactly* what I wanted. Within a couple weeks the project kicked off. They stayed well within the estimated timeline for the project. I would receive detail oriented emails with timelines and updates to the project, and payment schedules. Every few days a project manager would stop by to check on the work. They were very thorough and flexible to our needs. Clint was very responsive and helped keep the project on track. I was especially grateful for Phoenix Home Services ability to think outside the box when we hit a couple challenges with the project. We will be calling them again, and again, and again. Thank you!!!!

We used Phoenix for a complete room addition enclosing our side deck into a sunroom as well as some smaller outdoor projects: installing a patio, retaining walls, stairs, and a fence. We worked with various members of the team who were all communicative, friendly, and confident. We are extremely pleased with the sunroom: it is beautiful and seamlessly fits in with the rest of our house. While they were working there, the crew was extremely respectful and cognizant of the fact that we were currently living there. Carpenter Dan is super competent and extremely easy to work with. He always asked the right questions and found solutions we were happy with. We are a little less satisfied with the landscaping work; it didn't seem to be as much their area of expertise. The patio and stairs are beautiful and have made our yard (which is on a tricky hill) a lot more usable, but the way the landscaping and patio integrate with the yard is awkward in places, which was not entirely clear to us going in and difficult to adjust afterwards. Additionally, there was quite a bit of minuscule debris (nails, concrete chunks, plastic caps, etc.) leftover in the yard afterwards; they came to clean it up upon request but did not get it all. They were responsive to other punch list requests as well.

Entire basement was renovated / finished in 3 weeks. They did an amazing job and handled all the permits, materials, etc. I basically gave them the key, did a walkthrough and told them what I wanted, and they designed and installed all the options in an unfinished basement. Highly recommend Clint and his team.

Great job by Phoenix Home Services There were a lot of moving parts to this job, including coordinating with utilities and third party contractors. From the first visit through final walk through Phoenix maintained confidence and delivered a quality product beyond any other porch addition I have seen.

From the first request to get an estimate thru the final walk through, Clint and team (Ethan & Holman) were just fantastic. They were professional, timely, did exactly what they said they would - had just great and insightful recommendations to improve design. How did it go? We could not be more please with the design, the look, and the craftmanship is absolutely top notch. Seriously, I was thinking some simple deck work, these guys are craftsman. And what a huge difference that makes. The job has finishing details that are superlative. All of our neighbors have been over to compliment the new porch/deck and stairs. Can I say again craftsmanship, I know my original 25 year old deck needed some upgrade and renovation. I'm a little stunned how much more solid this deck is. We've joked that the house may blow away in a storm, but the decks not going anywhere. And that's great, but the handrails are such a beautiful touch, the corners are all tight, and we're very happy. I haven't written a review, and I know this is glowing. But the most positive thing I can say is this -- I'd be quick to hire them again. I feel like we got a great team to work with, great communication throughout, and we got super high quality work done. If there's a regret, I wish I asked them to do this 5 years ago.

Clint met with us at the beginning of the project to provide plans and ensure everything was in order for county and HOA approval. From there, Steve provided outstanding project management and customer support while Dan and his crew provided exceptional workmanship. We highly recommend Phoenix Home Services and will use them again for any future home renovations.

So pleased with the work. Clint and Steve (owners) are a perfect mesh of personalities to address a project such as this - and a customer like me!. Many of other contractors I sought bids from tried to cut corners, avoid permit process and have multiple vendors that together would complete the job. I needed one company that I could trust to see project through and take responsibility beginning to end and stand by it upon completion. Phoenix came through when no one else could. They provided superior craftmanship and delivered our screen room and deck project in under a month to include storm doors, ceiling fans, light fixtures, accent lighting, and more. Phoenix stayed on top of the project from start to finish and handled the plans, permits, inspections, and ensured everything was built to code.

Steve and Clint from Phoenix Home Services were fantastic to work with - from start to finish. We pulled estimates from four different contractors and their's was the most competitive by far (beware if you live in Arlington, VA - some contractors will overcharge just because the feel like you live in Arlington and they can get away with it). I appreciated their approach of waiting until all materials had been ordered/delivered and on site before starting; it minimized any delays and speeded the progress of the work. They started the week of Thanksgiving and finished right before Christmas. I was amazed at the pace at which they worked and the quality results. I'm highly attentive to details and was probably a pain in the butt at times, but they always accommodated me. They were on site every day and on time. Dan, the site foreman, and his crew were professional and highly competent and easy to get along with. Additionally, they improvised solutions when confronted with the challenge of dealing with a 90 year old home that helped make the spaces highly functional. They treated the rest of the house with care as they ripped out floor and walls in two different rooms. the project entailed renovating the original small kitchen in a 1930's colonial into an entertainment space (demo and new hardwood floors and wall repair) and renovating the old sun room into a new kitchen and living space (complete demo and reno down to the studs). They installed an all new window configuration, new siding on the outside, insulation, new floors, walls and ceilings including electrical install and plumbing where the was none previously. We could not be more satisfied with the results. A few months after the build, we discovered a minor problem (not related to their craftsmanship) and they returned and fixed the problem as part of their warranty. For any future work (we have a couple projects in mind) we would only hire Phoenix. Highest recommendation!

Are you looking to add a porch to your home? We started our search by considering design, price and quality of several companies. Phoenix Home Services gets an “A” in each area. From preparing the design and writing the contract, Clint Asmar from Phoenix listened to us and developed the plan we were looking for, at a price within our budget. The work was professionally completed, within timelines. The porch looks like it was always a part of our home, and we had many neighbors and friends comment about how it’s added to the overall look of our home. Another part of Phoenix is their being there after the project is complete. I called Clint with something I wanted him to look at over a year after it was built. He came out and said that it needed to be taken care of. Again, the Phoenix team responded to this, and they professionally completed the work. We highly recommend them.

We had our 20 year old fence replaced by Phoenix Home Services and they did a fantastic job! The old fence had ivy growing on it and was in really bad shape. Phoenix took down the old one, and cleared out all of the ivy and brush before putting up the new one. At 197 linear feet, it's a lot of fence, and they completed the entire job in 5 business days. The fence looks great, and is very well constructed. They pay attention to detail and make sure every section is right. We had one gate before and asked them to add a 2nd one on the other side of the house. It's on a slope, but they took the time to make the bottom fit within the slope and still look great! We also had our deck done by Phoenix Home Services last year and had a terrific experience so we were confident hiring them again for the fence project. We're also planning to have them do a major renovation of our finished basement in the fall and are excited to work with them again. In addition to doing great work, they are professional, detailed, and very good at keeping in touch with us throughout the projects. We highly recommend Steve, Clint, and the entire Phoenix Home Services team any home improvement/renovation projects!

Clint designed an excellent layout as well as suggesting materials that could meet my budget. Clint, Brian, and Steve kept me fully informed of the progress of the work and showed up daily to ensure things were moving along well. The quality of the work and materials was excellent, and though it cost a bit more than the original estimate, I am very satisfied with the work! My porch, front stoop, and front walkway look 200% better than before.

Let me start by saying I don’t give praise when it’s undeserved, and in fact I tend to be overly critical. So it’s significant that I can’t say enough incredible things about the folks associated with Phoenix and the absolute professionalism with which they approached this job. At every step they went “above and beyond” the minimum - for no other reason than to simply do the right thing. They sincerely take pride in their work, and they should. - they took my average house with an old carport and turned it into a residence people stop their cars to take photos of (really). The garage is simply awesome; it’s way better than my wife and I imagined. We started with a meeting with Clint, who listened to what we had in mind and produced 3D renderings that really helped us visualize things. He offered suggestions and gave important feedback that allowed us to save money while simultaneously get more than we guessed would be possible. Then we met Steve, who was equally laid-back but also equally attentive to our needs. Steve is the “on-the-ground” guy who makes sure all the work flows efficiently and that it’s done right. He makes it look easy when I am fairly certain it’s often a bear keeping all the balls in the air. He understands leadership - he has no problem loading up some debris just because he happens to be in the neighborhood, or pitching in on whatever task needs addressing. Trust me - he’s the guy you want in this role. The concrete guys and brick guys are artists! My retired neighbor watched them carefully while i was at work and was amazed they didn’t cut any corners - even with things that would go unseen. They took the time to make their work perfect. The electrician was also a great guy - actually took time to check out an issue that turned out to be unrelated to the project at hand, but his generosity and conscientiousness were much appreciated. Then there was Dan - the kind of craftsman you wish existed in every company you work with. Dan wasn’t satisfied until he made sure things fit perfectly and looked amazing. Again, just because he has pride in his work. He’s fast but “old school” - and the quality of his approach to construction shows. . . Clint stays in the game throughout, BTW, making sure you’re happy, checking in to ensure expectations are being met and things are perfect. You rarely see this level of communication, and it was refreshing, Beware: Clint is freakishly responsive to questions - if you email him on a weekend, don’t be surprised if you get a response within minutes! I could go on, but I think you get the picture. If you are reading this I assume you are considering options and weighing the pros and cons of different companies. I did the same. But do yourself a huge favor and at least meet with them to see how they operate. They are a joy to work with! Oh, and one last thing - they are fast! They finished our garage very close to the day I originally was hoping they could START. They just did everything incredibly well and so efficiently that things hummed along way ahead of schedule. I am writing this to help other potential customers who want an honest review. But to any Phoenix Home Services folks (including subcontractors) who might be reading this - thank you for making our home beautiful. You impressed the heck out of a critical guy with high expectations (and a carpenter for a father-in-law-law!). You should be proud and I will certainly call you again at the drop of a hat!

Nothing short of Exceptional work. A Keen attention to detail for every aspect of the build. Professional workforce, project area kept clean and provide a true concern for protecting furniture and rugs while prepping the work area. All plumbing, electrical and drywall work was perfect. Excellent Tile job - excellent. Plan on using them again for our Mstr Bath remodel. I would recommend Phoenix to anyone!

Phoenix built an egress window and did improvements on two well windows for us about two years ago. Clint gave us an estimate and discussed details with us. Steve managed the project and looked into making custom covers and followed up all details. Jose did amazing stone work to finish the project. We came across an issue with digging close to a gas line but it was dealt with by us, phoenix and the plumbing company which was frustrating cost wise but it was all ok at the end. Phoenix delivered a "high end" egress with no corners cut to quality and we're very happy with it. They are currently working on some repointing on our patio and Brian is managing the project.

Clint and Juan did an absolutely amazing job at coordinating and communicating promptly about everything and making sure everything we needed was done on time. They even went above and beyond on a few little details we didn’t take into consideration when trying to remodel a room in our basement. They even cleaned everything up really well after finishing the job. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to remodel any project in their home.

I obtained many estimates for a new front porch and walkway. Phoenix provided one of the best estimates and surpassed all the other companies in terms of responsiveness. After my husband and I met with Clint, he emailed us a 3-D rendering of our front porch and walkway. I changed my mind with the design many times (adding columns, centering the door, etc) and Clint was very patient, helpful and creative with his design perspective. Ultimately, I got the porch and walkway that I envisioned. The project itself went very smoothly and the communication from Clint, Steve and Brian was outstanding. They gave me a timeline and completed the project on time. Their crew was meticulous, hardworking and experienced. I am very happy with the finished product and highly recommend Phoenix.
