Tom Dunn is this homeowner's hero! Tom has a "can do", soft-sell , easygoing attitude and a warm sense of humor all of which I found calming to my jittery nerves due to past contractors. He LISTENS to everything you say and he REMEMBERS. This was a big job: replacement of all windows, new shutters, replacement of all siding (which involved carpentry on deck), wrapping all trim and replacement of gutters and downspouts. From Joey, (Tom's son) to the siding /trim crew who worked for over a week on the house and Cindy in the showroom, I received a professional and problem-free execution of the work at hand. Tom, who previously had listened to me mention some miscellaneous items I needed fixed, remembered to remedy them (at no additional charge) and even had a member of his team add some finishing touches to enhance the work already done on two of the windows. Tom also takes great pride in the quality of the materials used and the work performed and inspects all windows and siding for any imperfections or mistakes to be corrected and then he acts swiftly to remedy the situation if needed. I also called on Tom's experience to help me with my final decisions on color of shutters/siding and I am very happy. It looks great, feels great -warmer and quieter. Thanks Tom, Joey, Lim, Pedro, Gordo, David and Rick and Cindy and other office staff for all your hard work and respect for my home!!

We had Nova Installations replace all the siding (including soffits, trim, gutters, etc) and install new windows throughout the house. Art Dunn was exceptionally helpful and accommodating throughout the bid process, coming out early and on weekends to provide more information, making good suggestions about what should be done, and giving an honest perspective on the pros and cons of different products/quality levels/etc. The price was also the most competitive amongst the different quotes I received. The crews were very hardworking (worked from 7:30 am - 6:00 pm and on weekends) and finished the job quickly. They did a good job of cleaning up when the work was completed. The work seems to be of high quality. We are very pleased.

Tom came promptly to view our needs and invited us to his showroom. We visited the showroom a few days later and asked for an estimate. This was July. It took 6 weeks for the estimate which was four lines in an email and not complete. We pointed our the missing data and asked for a more complete estimate. We have called him, the showroom, asked for a different salesperson and have gotten no response. We liked Tom, liked his product, liked the customer evaluations, but they don't seem to want our business.

They were very good. The contractor was very honest during the solicitation phase. He seemed to be more of an honest broker than some of the bigger companies that I talked to. He really made myself and my wife feel good about the purchase--it really helped sell the home.

They were very punctual and knew exactly what they were doing. I live in a historic area and they knew exactly as to how to install the windows. There were some other companies that had a little trouble with the job. I liked their professionalism. Their price was standard. I would use their services in the future too.

We received estimates from a total of 5 installers. Art Dunn, one of the owners of NOVA Installations, came out to our house to take measurements, recommend products, and provide an estimate. Art is very laid back and does not use high-pressure sales tactics (unlike one of the large national companies we received an estimate from). He listened to our goals, measured the windows, and recommended a quality window that met our goals. No attempts to up sell or recommend windows that were over engineered for what we were trying to accomplish. Art did not bring samples so I visited their showroom in Chantilly before committing. Upon reviewing the windows I elected to upgrade for aesthetic reasons to the next product line made by the same manufacturer . I preferred the exterior look of the next product line up. I signed the contract that day. The installation was delayed one week. The delay was due to the additional manufacturing time to build two of the windows with mini-blinds between the panes (these windows were installed in my bathrooms). NOVA Installations called to inform me of the delay. The windows arrived on the new date indicated by NOVA Installations and work began promptly on the day scheduled. The crew consisted of two company employees. They were on-time every day, very courteous, and willing to answer any questions I had during installation. Their work was top notch. They cleaned all dust and debris as they worked. All of the windows were installed and capping was custom cut and fitted on-site. The interior caulking is smooth and neat. Exterior caulking is pretty thick in some places and slightly beaded, but nothing that concerned me or that I thought was sloppy or required re-caulking. I will be reaching out to NOVA Installations in the future when I decide to replace my gutters and siding. I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

There were problems with the doors, but I don't think that was their fault. Any problems there were with the doors they came back immediately and rectified them.

I was very satisfied with the quality of the workmanship from Nova. I was very satisfied with the timeliness and professionalism of the workers. They showed up on time and on the day they said they would. They performed the work in the amount of time that they said they would and they left no mess. They performed the work within budget and there were no suprises. I was very happy with the work that Nova performed. I was less satisfied with the quality of the workmanship from the window manufacturer. One of the windows did not fit, one of the vinyl pieces was warped, there were several scratches in the glass and in 2 cases, there was debris in between the panes of glass. A representative from the window manufacturer came to my house, took detailed notes on my concerns and within 3 weeks, I had flaw-free windows. I was very happy with the customer service from the window manufacturer. The warranty is very good and they fixed all my problems/concerns quickly. You can take their promise to make it right seriously. Don't be afraid to go over the windows carefully and mark each and every flaw. Don't be afraid to bring the flaws to the attention of the window rep. They will make it right. I withheld final payment until my concerns were addressed but paid promptly once they were. Nova understood this without complaint and never once pestered me for payment until I was 100% satisfied. I would certainly use them again and would recommend them to anyone else. I would also purchase the same windows again.

We were initially happy with some of the work that they did. When they installed the windows there was flashing that had to be put around the outside of the window. They did a fairly poor job with that. They left gaps between the sidings on the window edge. They had a window technician come out to fix it. He did a tremendous job.

Overall I was very impressed with this company. When I met with Art Dunn for the initial estimate, he answered all my questions frankly, providing information without the sales pitch. The estimate he provided was more than $1000 less than estimates provided by other companies for the same brand of windows. In addition, Mr. Dunn suggested a lower-cost alternative for replacing the bow window that involved modifying the existing framework and installing 4 replacement windows, instead of replacing the entire bow window structure. This solution cost about $1000 less than estimates for replacing the bow window unit and the updated window lookis great. The workers who performed the installation were punctual, professional, and efficient. They worked long hours to complete the majority of the inside work in one day, minimizing the time I needed to be off work. They cleaned up all debris at the end of each work day, leaving the worksite completely clean inside and out.

I called, received a call back, and had an appointment for an estimate within a week. I was also informed of the tax credit I would receive. The wait for the windows was approximately six weeks, but they arrived early. The installers showed up on time, replaced the windows, caulked, and cleaned up. This company was very aware of the historic covenants required by my community. It was a very satisfactory experience.

Nova Installations were prompt in providing an estimate. They helped us decide what we wanted. They came when they promised. They finished on time. They left the premises spotless.

There are actually two parts of this story. Part 1: the installation-overall, it went very well. They replaced my windows about 2 years ago along with a patio door and everything was completed without a fuss. Part 2: the service call-I needed to get repairs on the patio door. I requested a service call and it was very diificult to reach someone. The person answering the phone would not answer my call despite promises to do so. After calling back, I finally was about to get someone to come out to my townhouse. They looked at the damage and informed me that they would order the part and call me back in two weeks. It's been 4 weeks and I haven't heard back from this person. I've called the office again and once again, I have yet to get a response. This follow-up has really soured my experience with the company.

We were really pleased with everything, including the cost. It was eight years ago, and we haven't had any problems with the windows and doors. I contacted many companies about this job, and I went with this one.

Hodges Company price was $4300 for this door and $5700 for total price. NOVA Installations price for the door was $4400 and $4900 for total price. NOVA Installations subcontracted the installations to Terry who removed the old door and installed the new door, which took about 2 weeks from the factory. He did a terrific job. Instead of using the 2 3/4 inch interior molding that came with the door, he sent his helper to Home Depot to get 2 1/2 inch molding to avoid notching the wider molding to fit the drapery brackets above door.

NOVA Installations, Art Dunn, priced the work at 2000 sq feet of siding. I told him that one company priced the work at 2300 sq feet and another at 2500 sq feet and their prices were based on these measurements. Art Dunn measured the house again and said its 2000 sq feet and that it turns out to be more, he would cover the cost of additional siding. The completed job took 2000 sq feet just what Art Dunn said. Actually, there were 6 pieces of siding left in the last box. NOVA Installations subcontracted to work to Mr. Lim who spent four days to do the work.

The experience from the initial estimate to installation was great! Joe provided a no-pressure sales experience and did a great job with the installation. He and his helper were quick and thorough. I would definitely hire NOVA installations again!

Their price was good- several other places had the same doors as them, but their price was expensive. The installation is good and they showed up on time. They don't have a sales force. I liked the owner and the guys.

They were my second choice for installing windows. They had very attractive prices.

Great. Art Dunn is professional and responsive. The installation crew was friendly and did a great job of making it easy to be in the house while they did the windows.

This company did a terrific job. I found them on Angie's list and they had top ratings on another consumer site. We met with Tom Dunn who was very nice and answered all our questions. No pressure for sales. They came in with the lowest price too. Once we signed the contract, we were told the windows would be in two weeks from that Tuesday. That very day they called and scheduled us within a week. We had Joey and Juan and they showed up on time, worked for two days straight, no break. Completely cleaned up after themselves. They were completely accommodating with us having animals and did one room at a time and kept the door closed to keep the cold from going through the house. Probably the best service company I have ever dealt with. Good job Nova Installations!

The installation went very well. Terry and Dennis were the installers, and they were prompt, courteous and cleaned up after themselves. We had them fix a few things on the doors they installed the year before, and this was just fine, too. Nova's prices were extremely competitive, and they did great work. We worked with Frank, who manages the sales team, for our estimate. The estimate was free. Frank even drove from VA to Rockville to do the estimate on a Saturday morning for us.

They were professional. They were basically outside. They didn't need or ask for anything. They were courteous of our home and were careful not to tack in.

Their quality of work and professionalism was great!

I played "telephone tag" with Sherry. It took me three calls to talk to her in person. She took my information (address, phone number, what I was looking for) and said someone would call me. No one ever called me back. We had hoped to use them to replace our front door, but decided to go with someone else since the company never even bothered to call and set up an appointment. I was surprised, as they had good marks with Angie's List. Maybe they're just too busy for the "small fry" like me!
