The overall experience was first rate. Tom came with his son and gave me an estimate straight away. Both were friendly, courteous and dealing with them was very straight-forward. I agreed to use them the next day and we arranged installation for the following week. On the day the installers talked me through how everything was going to happen and they did what they said were going to do with a minimum of fuss. Couldn't be happier with the service from start to finish.

Terrible. The contractor is a distributor for Mastershield Gutter Guards. Poor installation, poor communication, the product does not work as he stated, and Tom refuses to refund my money to honor the product warranty. The gutter guard is causing further damage to my home, and Tom continues to not fix the problem, make inconsistent excuses, and not honor the company's warranty. I am going through nightmare of getting him to refund my money. This gutter guard does not work in heavy rainstorms, and the rainwater is running over the product, and causes further damage to window, algae damage to the brick work and rain water pooling on the ground, causing further erosion and damage to my landscaping. The hassle that I have to go through is becoming tedious, Tom has stated about how "good" his customer service is, and how he wants me to be a happy customer, but he is doing nothing to ensure that. He has been getting lower reviews of lately, so there is consistency (getting worse) in this work.

The estimate and installation was very professional and prompt. I couldn't have asked for better service and followup to make sure everything went well.

Tom was great, came out to meet me immediately and started work about a week later. His crew were very professional and got the job done in no time at all. Tom stopped by to check on the job which was nice to see that he takes his work seriously.

We had an issue with gutter overflow causing severe erosion and water intrusion in our basement. Tom did a thorough inspection, identified all of the problem areas on our house and promptly provided an estimate. The installation crew showed up on time and completed the work very quickly. It appears to be a solid installation, and since we now have adequately sized gutters that will not clog with debris, the system is working well. Overall, working with Tom and his crew has been a positive experience. Our problems have been solved and Tom has guaranteed that he will address any future problems that may arise.

It was excellent. They are high quality gutters. They did it quickly. They were easy to deal with. The price ok and I'm glad that there's a life warranty.

Only called. Excellent response in a timely manner. Company rep was courteous and gave me pertinent information which helped me decide, however, that the particular "Big Deal" wouldn't be cost effective for me at that time.

We were very satisfied with the entire process and quality of the work. Tom and his son were very informative and a pleasure to work with. We would highly recommended them to others.

Called and got an appointment for estimate very quickly. Tom came out and looked at my house and immediately noticed that my gutters were too small for the overhang that the installers left when I had my roof redone. I had previously done research on Mastershield and was impressed with the mock-up and could see how it would work. Installing Mastershield would have required all of the gutters to be dropped to properly get the slope to match the roof slope, Tom instead gave us an excellent price on replacing all of the gutters which made more sense. I have maple trees with helicopters, and all kinds of other trees that seem to clog up gutters, and my old shields weren't getting the job done. A crew of 6 showed up at 8 AM and did a superb job of pulling everything off and starting from scratch. The new gutters are beautiful, there are no nails protruding from the finish side, and the Mastershield fits tight and clean. I don't see how anything other than water can ever possibly get in the new gutters. They are also made such that there is no way that pesky squirrels or birds could ever breach them. Don't expect the gutters to work any better than the others did, but going from 5 to 6", have more capacity when we get the frogstrangler rains that seem come more often these days. The total cost was pretty expensive in a way, but I expect it all to be trouble-free in the future. Overall, an excellent experience, and thanks to the team.

I wasn’t impressed. They did not check all the gutters, as the Deal said, and I’ve actually had some big ice cycles this winter because of the installation. The product has been good with the leaves, but it did create a separate problem. There was also an upsell and additional charge.

I was contacted by Tom, via email, the day after signing up for a Angie's List deal He then made an appointment to come see me. He arrived punctually and we discussed my desires and requirements and he identified options to achieve those objectives. At the end of his visit, we agreed upon 20 May as the date for the work to be done. On the morning of 20 May his crew arrived punctually, notified me that they would be working on the gutter system for approximately two hours, and efficiently began their work. At one point, they informed me that there was a small area of rot that would require the replacement of a few fascia boards and asked if I wanted to do that now to which I gave my approval. They continued their work efficiently and without any further interruptions. At the conclusion of their work, approximately two hours later, they informed me that the job had been completed without any other issues and asked that I contact Tom that afternoon. That afternoon, before I called Tom, he called me to ensure that I was happy with the completed work. I assured him that I was, and was looking forward to the next rain event. My only concern with this action, was that I spent more than I had anticipated; however, that is probably because I was not fully aware of what I wanted or needed. I certainly got more than I had anticipated. Throughout this entire process Tom and the other members of his company were personable, professional, capable, and competent. I would use this company again, if the need arises. .

Our first floor was flooded during the April 30 storm. Our insurance agent had a similar problem and had 6 inch gutters installed that eliminated the problem. We decided to pursue that route and contacted Master Shield for information and an estimate. Tom Kahn came to our home, explained everything in great detail and set up the installation for the following week. His installer came out on time and proceeded to install the new gutter system. David was incredibly professional and thorough in his work. He completed the job before the May 15th storm hit. The gutters worked flawlessly. Had they not been installed that day, we would have been flooded for a second time in two weeks. We cannot praise this group enough. This business stands by its product and workmanship. A true pleasure to work with such a competent team.

All I can say is WOW! If you ever need gutters replaced, and you don't use this company, you will be sorry. I had all gutters replaced for the entire house and attached garage, including downspouts, and the Mastershield gutter guards throughout. I cannot say enough about how quick and responsive they were to my initial request for a quote which was done through Angie's List. Matt responded immediately by email and followed up with a phone call shortly thereafter. The quote was provided to me by email that same day. It was awesome getting the 15% discount that they offered on Angie's List as well. It's always nice to save money. Due to the size of the house, Matt recommended that I go with the 6 inch gutters rather than the standard 5 inch, so I went with his recommendation. I did have a time constraint to get the work done as I am having a front porch installed, and thought it would be much easier to get this done before the porch was constructed. He was able to fit me in within 1 week of the signed contract. The workers showed up this morning and they were completely finished within 2 hours! Not only does the finished work look amazing, but they did a fantastic job of cleaning up all debris. They look fantastic! This is a family owned business, which I love supporting, and I will definitely be using them again once my porch is finished. Give them a call - you won't regret it!

After procrastinating way too long with deteriorating gutters and watching the edge of my roofline impersonate Niagara Falls during storms, I decided to address the problem by contacting Mastershield. Prior to doing so, I had performed detailed research on the internet, comparing various gutter systems with a specific eye to performance over time. My research led me to Mastershield, and specifically to Tom Kahn's family-run gutter installation business which just happened to be "down the street" from us. Tom came out in late March, performing a walkaround with me, detailing his opinion on what needed fixing and what didn't. He recommended upsizing the lower front gutters and downspouts to 6" from 5" due to the runoff from the upper story. The integrity of the remaining gutters was fine, and he recommended only installing Mastershield on those, after making sure they were completely cleaned out first. Tom's demeanor was professionally relaxed with no sales pressure whatsoever. It was a pleasant experience. After the walk-around, Tom spent some time crafting an estimate on the spot and then discussed each line item with me and gave me a price for the entire job, including the Angie's List discount. The estimate of $4K was in the ballpark of what I had expected. The final price matched the estimate exactly. The job was scheduled for April 8th. The crew showed up and performed all of the work in a single day. They were professional and had a high level of expertise. There were no additional problems or issues that cropped up during installation. Near the end of the day, the lead installer performed a post-installation walk-around with me, showing and explaining exactly what they did. Everything in the contract was fulfilled. The one minor drawback, which has been noted by some other reviewers, is that not all of the trash was removed after job completion. It wasn't a big deal, as it took me less than 5 minutes to pick up a couple of the old mesh guards that had been discarded, along with a bag of other trash and a couple of excess scraps left on the lawn. I informed Tom, who was very apologetic and stated that he would reemphasize the clean-up issue with the crew. Again, it was no big deal, but it was one area that I noted could be improved. So what's the bottom line? Let's just say that we've had a couple of big rain events, one of which dumped 5 inches of rain (!) on us, and the gutters performed flawlessly. I cannot tell you how gratifying it was to see the end of Niagara Falls and not have to worry about potential foundation damage now that all the water is being redirected properly. Also, I have noted no problem with "tree trash" during springtime, potentially interfereing with the Mastershield system. There have been no blockages or issues with runoff to date. The recommendation to upgrade the front gutters to 6 inches was excellent. I'm incredibly happy with the entire job and its results. The price was not cheap, but I'll gladly pay a little extra for top quality, and top quality is exactly what I received. Thanks to Tom and the crew!

I thought I was going to get a $650 job for $325 like the Big Deal stated. This is the most deceiving and confusing ad I have ever seen. I think it should be changed. They came out and told me it would be $3350 and take $325 off to do the job.

It was my first time purchasing a coupon. I was expecting the company to contact my by phone or email, I was not expecting them to contact me through an Angie's List chat and so I missed their initial reply. The coupon was also a bit misleading in terms of price. I thought I was paying $325.00 and getting new gutters installed, not paying $325.00 for $650.00 worth of gutters subtracted from their final quote. Lastly, the quote of ~$2600 for about 52 ft of new gutters install on a two story home seemed very overpriced.

We needed to have a portion of our home's gutter replaced as we were selling our house and this work was required by the buyer. Unfortunately, the area had received a significant amount of rain over the prior few weeks and every gutter company I called was booking over a month out, but we only had two weeks to get the work completed prior to our closing. When I called Tom and explained the situation, he was able to fit us into his schedule with a job that happened to be close to our house. He was able to provide a quote via email after I had sent him photos of the gutter and dimensions. He came as promised, completed the work on time, and the new gutter looks great. In addition, Mastershield's quote was significantly more reasonable than most of the other companies I had contacted, and they were able to get the work done when no one else could.

They did the job while I was at work. The gutter gaurds have worked great since they have been installed. The only thing I would comment on would be regarding the communication of when they would be accomplishing the work, as they came and did the work while I wasn't home. However, they did good work and I would recommend their services.

We had our old gutters and downspouts replaced by Mastershield. Tom and his team did a fantastic job, and the gutters look great. The guys are very friendly and the job done looks fantastic. I cannot believe how nice the exterior looks with the new gutters. Tom was very responsive to my requests, and I would definitely recommend him and his team to anyone.

MasterShield was the most professional contractor we've used since we bought our house and started doing remodeling jobs 2 years ago. From beginning to end, they were reliable and responsive. They quoted us a price and timeframe and stuck to these, were punctual, and did a thorough and complete job -- all basic things most contractors promise but rarely deliver. The owner, Tom, was great about keeping in contact with us and providing updates. He also followed up with us immediately after the work was completed. We are extremely satisfied and highly recommend them.

They came on date promised and did a great job cleaning our gutters and left everything neat. I didn't need to be here at time of service, so I returned home and the work was done. I will use them again . Also, they are not badgering me with phone calls to set up quarterly service, as another pushy company did in the past.

I have nothing but praise for Mastercraft Gutters.

very professional, timely, on the expensive side

Tom, the CEO came out as soon as possible since my front gutter was dangling from a previous storm with the danger of taking down the phone lines. The men were most professional, respectful and knowledgeable. Tom called after the work was done to see if all was well. He was most caring in explaining different things to me in layman's language. I will call Tom for any gutter work in the future.

Installed gutter guards over existing gutters on very high gutters to prevent leafs/debris from clogging the gutters. These are locations that where I could not safely reach the gutters. They voluntarily, at no cost, did a second gutter, leading to a total length that was a bit greater than what I purchased. I was very surprised and pleased that MasterGuard felt it was important to do this to protect this section of the roof as well.
