Job 1: we were told that they needed to order 2 pallets to get all the wood from the same lot. When it failed to come in on the promise date, we were told that the vendor was also out. After waiting approximately a month, we received the shipment and scheduled the installation. Upon arrival, the installation crew informed us that they couldn't install it with a guarantee because there was no vapor barrier, the floor was not level and the removal of some ceramic tile was going to be a bigger job than the we're willing to do. All of which was bid as part of the installation. We informed Home Depot of our displeasure and scheduled them to come back and pick up the materials. We contracted a third party to remove the tile. We decided to forget the wood flooring and would install carpet and expand the tile area to one of the hallways and the dinette area. We told Home Depot of our plans for carpeting and had them come back out for a measurement of just the new carpet area. Meanwhile, some at Home Depot took it upon themselves to sub our carpet and pad selection to completely replace the wood under the first 3 job bid. This action caused a discrepancy in what was being charged and credited. Because we were also making changes to the tile area, I told them just to cancel the original 3 job bid, and start over with just the carpet. After several face to face discussions about what we wanted, they assured me that they made the proper adjustments for the carpet installation. In the mean time we had the third party install all of the tile after removing the tie and leveling the floor. On the day of the carpet installation, the Home Depot installation contractor showed up with the wrong installation work order. It was for the carpet installation under the first job #3. Fortunately for us, I had Home Depot do a separate measurement. So we had the correct quantity of carpet and pad. Fortunately the installer had enough tac strips on hand, as the new area had none in preparation for the wood installation. But the saga doesn't end there. The carpet had a different name on it. We called the store and advised them that our quote had one name, and the carpet roll had another. They said that this is what was ordered, but couldn't tell me who or why it was changed without notifying us of the change. They also said when they pull them both on the computer, that they look the same. We did not have a sample to confirm this. They also said that this was of the same grade and style that we requested and received a quote for. We had them install the carpet. It looks great, but looks to be darker than we remember. Upon visiting the store today, we confirmed our suspicions. We now have a carpet of a different color than we requested. We were told that someone must have entered the wrong SKU when ordering. There seems to be a lack of supervision and any type of quality control. Someone should have double checked this contract for accuracy. We are very displeased with this entire experience.
Description of Work: Had Home Depot come to my house and measure for three separate jobs. 1. Wood flooring for dining room, dinette and two hallways. 2. Carpeting for the family room. 3. Tile flooring for the kitchen. They provided quotes for material and installation for all three jobs.
