Description of Work: New sod for a portion of our front yard plus new landscaping for our front and back yard including mulch for a large area in the back yard. Description of Work: Removed 6+ red tip shrubs, prepared area for larger garden area by removing grass. Built a really nice looking limestone border; planted about 18 new plants, including 5 shrub type plants and added river rock. |We were given a sketch and list of the specific plants that would be used, as well as different options with prices for each. This helped to make the decision to proceed with hiring this company. Everything went very well. It looks beautiful and we feel we got a great value.

 + -1 moreJim was easy to reach, and he was VERY easy to negotiate with for our lawn care. He called us back immediately on a Friday evening, listened to what we needed, and offered to come out on Monday. It was raining that Monday, so we rescheduled for Tuesday. He called me when he got there to tell me the price, which was the price he predicted it would be over the phone, and then he got it done quickly. He did a clean job for our overgrown lawn. What makes Jim so special is that he was willing to work with our crazy schedule. We could not be there when he came, we trusted him to do the job well, and he did. He trusted us to pay, and it worked out great. The only thing that went wrong was our review of him on Angie's list came later than what he deserved. Great guy to work with though we never met in person. We have no hesitation to working with him again.

 + 2 moreOverall it was great, jim was very knowledgable and had some very creative suggestions, some of which we went with that were an amazing improvement. We had several bids on the job and chose to go with Jim based on his referalls. I would recommend Down To Earth to anyone in the area
Description of Work: Jim and his crew did an amazing job from start to finish. He was very quick to respond to my phone call and set an appointment for an estimate. After he gave me an estimate he also gave me 3 references which all said great things about him so I chose to go with his company. They did a mortared flagstone overlay on our existing patio and replaced the back section of our privacy fence which had rotted away. I was very pleased with the quality of the work (outstanding) for the price. Jim was very knowledgable about the work that he was doing as well as the other men on his crew, Wayne especially. I would highly recommend them for any type of outdoor work (landscaping, fences, masonry work etc.)

He did the job even though we hadn't met face to face and my son reported that he did an excellent job. He also charged less than the original estimate so that was a nice surprise. I would definitely use Jim and his company again.

He clearly explained what work he was going to do and asked for my input on his designs before providing a final quote. He has completed each project for the price he quoted me and I have not experienced any negative suprises. On every project, Jim Hall has met or exceeded my expectations (and I am VERY detail oriented). Clearly, Jim Hall takes pride in his work and selects helpers that also take pride in their work. I HIGHLY recommend Jim Hall and Down to Earth Landscaping.
Description of Work: Jim Hall with Down to Earth Landscaping has done several projects for me over the past two years. I HIGHLY recommend his work. He is quick to respond to phone requests and his prices are very reasonable for the quality of the work he provides. He is currently working on adding a flagstone patio in my back yard (as of 6-19-12). On every project he has done for me, Jim provided hands-on work and directly supervised his workers. The projects he has provided for me include installation and maintenance of: A) Flower beds with large tree, shrubs, plants and flowers front and back yard B) Removal of weeds, addition of weed barrier with river rock cover in the easement area behind my house (This is an especially awesome improvement) C) Yard Lighting D) Sprinkler installation and repair E) Flagstone walkway and patio. As a result of these yard improvements, I recently was awarded "Yard of the Month" for my subdivision.
