John was easy to work with. He was punctual, professional, talented at landscaping and reliable. He responded to may calls within 24 hours. He was patient and understanding when it took so long for my HOA to approve rehab. plans for the front yard. Once the project started John and his crew were here early and worked steadily for 2 days to complete the job. John always checked with me for the placement of new plants. I liked that very much. I was comfortable working with ideas and sketches instead of drawn out specific plans. John was always flexible and let me work within our plan to make changes as needed for plants and design. A big thank you to John Hall and his Crew.

From start to finish Jim was very professional and fair priced. He always returned my calls and gave me room and time to decide on the price and jobs to be done. Of all the Angie's List contractor I have used or contacted Jim and Down To Earth Landscaping are head and shoulders above them. I have dealt with more than 9 other contractors because we are in the process of upgrading our 1966 home. Not only did Jim and his crew do a beautiful job but everyday when they finished they cleaned up so you could not tell they had been their all day working. Their work and pride in their work shows. We are extremely happy with their work. The yard looks beautiful the grass is already rooting and green. Their landscaping is also beautiful. I have had the neighbors stop by and tell me what an improvement the is in the yard and thank me for caring,of course I told them who did the work Down To Earth Landscaping ,Jim is a hands on guy and has a Great crew that will treat you right and do a job that will be very satisfying.

Jim met with me and gave an estimate, showed up and he and his crew did everything I asked and I only told him once......I never write reviews and if I could fill up this whole page with praises I would. They were here promptly, worked hard, completed our project, and cleaned up before they left. Very nice work that turned out even better than I had imagined! We had told him what we needed and he designed it all. We are very happy with the finished product. He matched our existing stone work perfectly. Reasonable rates for the quality of work. We LOVE it!! We plan on using this company again for future work.

This company was only 2 of the 5 companies contacted to come to my house to provide me with a quote, and he was the first company to respond. His quote was also the best out of the two provided to us. While our job was small in comparison to most landscape jobs, his group handled it with professionalism and did exactly what I asked them to do. They arrived on time and they finished when they said they'd be finished, they cleaned up their work area as well. I am very happy with the outcome and highly recommend Down to Earth to anyone with any landscape job, large or small.

Jim and his crew were great to work with! He came to us and LISTENED to what we wanted! After having a few other landscapers TELL us what they were going to do, this was refreshing! Down to Earth Landscaping came the following Wednesday and by this Friday morning our yard looked fresh, modern, clean and had the curb appeal we were looking for, all within our budget! Jim and crew were friendly and easy to work with! We will be using them again soon to give our backyard the TLC it needs! Thank you guys again!

Some of the best craftsmanship I have seen from a landscape contractor. They committed to a time, showed up when they said they would and completed the project above my expectations.

James came out to evaluate the area. I told him that I was trying to stay within a budget. He gave us some ideas with different prices to meet our needs. He was also willing to use the material we already had for the retaining wall. The job was completed quickly, and we are very pleased with our results.

a bit pricey but worth it. I had the bed mulched last year and paid less but thejob was poorly done. Down to Earth mulched the bed cost a bit more but did much better. You get what you pay for

I just can't say enough great things about Jim Hall and his team! I called him with a very rough idea of what I wanted for a garden design. He took my rough idea and really brought it to life with several great suggestions that I would never have even thought of. The garden is AMAZING!!! Then in Phase "2" I again gave Jim a very rough idea of what we wanted to do in the way of a "yard" (we live in the country) for our small dogs but that would still be attractive and fit with the rest of the house. Again, Jim came back with some great ideas on how to do it and then just "got it done"! It is beautiful and brings us joy every single day. Jim has a great demeanor, very unassuming but extremely thorough and professional about what he does. He takes great pride in his work. I can honestly say that we have never worked with a contractor where things went as well as they did with Jim.

Neighbors, people driving by and even people stopping ringing our door bell to inquire and compliment on the landscape. The front yard is beautiful...and the back yard is breath taking.. What else can we say; it is BEAUTIFUL. At the end of each day the work areas were clean and the tools were put away. Additionally, Jim's crew, all were courteous and are really hard workers. As you can tell we are very pleased...We recommend Down to Earth Landscape Co. to our neighbors, you won't go wrong with using this company for your landscape needs.

Great service. James (owner of company) had called me the day before to to tell me that he could get the work done on 06/19/15 if the "weather cooperated" (i.e. not raining) and he would call me in the morning to let me know. The morning of 06/19/15 he showed up at the house promptly at 0830, even though it was raining. I thought he was going to tell me we would have to re-schedule for another day. But no, he informed me that the rest of his scheduled jobs would not be able to be done because of the rain (they involved mixing cement). So he had rounded up his entire crew and, if I was OK with them working in the rain, they would complete my job in 2-3 hours, and they did! The site looks great and, as an additional bonus, his price was an average 400.00 less than the other 2 estimates I had received. I will definitely use him for any other landscaping job in our future and, will recommend him to anyone needing landscaping work in their home.

They arrived on time and were quiet as requested ( I work nights so sleep late in the mornings), were very polite and professional, did a great job on the landscaping, and cleaned up everything. They even had a little sod left so walked my property and added it where needed! Jim went over the work with me to ensure everything was as specified before accepting my payment. I will definitely use them if I need landscaping work in the future.

I am impressed by the quality work these guys do, the crew is courteous and they do that bit extra. After completing the tree pruning, the crew pointed out and repaired a break in my fence, and also took care of some wasp nests forming on the property, at no extra charge. I highly recommend these guys, they are professional and the rates are quite reasonable!

Jim Hall and his crew arrived on time and went immediately to work. They are very professional, courteous and respectful. Joshua did an outstanding job with the chopped block and Calvin and Anthony worked diligently spreading the mulch once the beds were outlined with metal edging and the weed barrier was down. All of the guys did good work and took instructions well. In some cases, they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the work as it transpired. The finished project in its entirety added significantly to the overall appearance of our yard. People are constantly stopping and admiring our yard and the sign of good work is that we're pleased to refer them to Jim. None of this type of work is easy in Texas and if I attempted to do it on my own, it would take literally months to complete what these guys accomplished in 4 days. Thanks Jim for the great work ... we have more to do in the Fall!!

To repeat: completely designed and landscaped the front of our home. This is the third time we have used this company, tha last time, he removed lime stone and rock from an entire section of our backyard, then sodded the area to perfection. This last time, they removed an old Palm (including dig and remove root system) the planted shrubs, flowering plants and then bordered the entire area with decorative grasses. After completing this they completely coved the area with River Rock. They also planted several ginger plants by our front entryway. Mr. Hall always makes sure his work is completely done and finished off beautifully. After finishing the task, the cleaned up all their work tools and tidy up. Mr. Hall has also trimmed trees for us and haul brush away for disposal! We couldn't be mor satisfied with the excellent quality of work performed! We will continue to utilize Mr. Hall / Down to Earth, for all our yard and landscaping needs.

James and his crew showed up on Monday morning after having been rain delayed for a week. The crew got to work clearing an area for the patio. They did all the necessary and proper prep work, then laid a gorgeous flagstone patio area in mortar. The craftsmanship and pride that each crew member showed was so refreshing, and each member was personable and friendly, even to someone who was watching and asking questions the whole time! They prepped and put in the granite walkway, laying the end stones in mortar as well. The entire job is probably not one of their biggest or most expensive, but they still took great pride in their work, always asking if it was looking good, and asking if I wanted anything changed.

Things went very well. His crew did a great job from start to finish. He was available for questions and concerns. He made sure that everything was done in a quality like manner. After 6 months, the plants are thriving and looks great. I am glad that I spent the money. I told James that I was on a budget and that was taken into consideration to include a military discount. I am very pleased and would hire him again.

His price was very competitive. He was so easy to get a hold of. He is very responsive. He ended up fertilizing for free. He took out the things we didn't like. He is honest and down to earth. He did a great job. His cost was less than what most people were quoting so it was great. I would use him again in the future.

These guys worked as fast as we could with all the rain we have gotten and were up front and in contact with us each step of the way. They hauled away our old railroad ties and fencing for us and broke down the cost each step of the way.

These guys rock! They are absolute professionals. They pay extreme attention to detail. I believe they set a high bar for this industry. They delivered as they said they would and infact they finished early!
