Horrible experience. I paid him after first attempt, but completely regret it. He came back to try and fix problem in living room, but never made it right, and he left me to re-prime and repaint the wall after he left! The bathroom walls were obviously not textured well, but better than living room, & I'm living with it (will cover worst portion with wall art). When painting bathroom walls, he painted most of a wall that was not in his contract, & was supposed to remain white. He tried to blame me by saying it was in the original estimate, which we reviewed, and could see that it wasn't. Then, he asked me if I could repaint it to save him time! I ended up repainting the bathroom walls the next weekend (they looked okay from a distance, but after spending time in the bathroom, I noticed many poor elements, some of which are shown in the provided photos). Very unprofessional. Very bad job.
Description of Work: Hired to remove paneling from living room wall, then retexture & paint the wall. In addition, he textured & painted 2 walls in bathroom. He removed paneling without incident, but it was the only part of the job he did well. He filled in some, but not all the holes left from paneling nails/staples. (I filled in a lot more holes the 1st night after he left). The next day, he applied the texture, which seemed fine at first. However, after he painted it, you could easily see that texture was very uneven and spotty. While he came back to fix the problem, he couldn't figure out how to make it smooth. (I've later learned that he failed to 'float the joints'). When I mentioned this idea, he dismissed it. He retextured bathroom walls...also with uneven texture (which other contractors have seen & groaned at). He painted walls, but lines with contrasting wall colors were uneven. He left blue tape on wall around window & painted over it! Supposedly nailed on baseboards, but they were loose.

I was never contacted about any further complaint from December 2006 until September 2007. I am not sure why this issue has come up 10 months after the job was completed. She never made an effort to contact me by phone or email. I went back to try and resolve the issues she was concerned about at the time the work was completed and she was satisfied with the work. I have been in business for 4 years and only had a handful of complaints. I have a 4.5 rating out of a high score of 5 with Service Magic. I have found over the 4 years in business that some people will never be satisfied. I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused with her. Tim Bankes - Owner
